I really wanted to like Birdie, but the bird didn’t quite fly. The waffles were powdery—like biting into drywall dust. Dry, crumbly, and oddly architectural. The chicken seasoning was arranged like a checkerboard: one bite completely unseasoned, the next unexpectedly very spicy. Consistency was clearly optional.
To be fair, the price was good—but then again, drywall doesn’t cost much either.
On a more personal (but honest) note, my stomach and I are currently having a serious conversation. I somehow feel both clogged up and running for the bathroom, which is an impressive contradiction I didn’t ask for.
All that said, the people there were genuinely very nice—warm, friendly, and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, kindness doesn’t fix waffles or balance seasoning. Great service, questionable cooking skills. With some kitchen improvements, this place could really turn things around.
