My husband and I went to Birdie’s Barroom & Kitchen for brunch which happened to be their one year anniversary, and everything was absolutely excellent-the food, the atmosphere, and the service. Our bartender, Stacie, was fantastic! She was friendly, helpful, and gave great recommendations. We tried the bread she suggested, and it was amazing. I don’t usually eat tomato soup, but we decided to order a bowl, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. The Chicken French Dip, their Bennie’s (Eggs Benedict) were also incredible, and the drinks were just as impressive. The mimosa flight was beautiful and delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

This was our fist time here and I absolutely love it. The Honey cauliflower was AMAZING 10/10. We also ordered a cold macha tea and we loved it. My niece ordered the the farm house grill cheese with tomatoe soup and it was our favorite!!! I ordered the proper burger and it was pretty amaizing too!!! Our server Kelli did amaizing! Was very helpful and answered all of our questions and concerns! We will definetly be back!

We came for Raleigh restaurant week and became fans almost immediately, but there were some highs and lows with our experience. I'll lay them out in chronological order. We parked on the street about a block and a half away after checking the block once to try to find closer parking. There was live music, it was nice, but it meant we had to exert ourselves to speak loudly in order to hear each other. The water bottle has a couple specks of grime. The bread we ordered as appetizer was slightly under done but also super DELICIOUS, especially with the flavored butters. I wanted to drench the bread in them. We ordered from the special prixe fix menu which included an appetizer, entree, and dessert each. We picked Brussels sprouts and cauliflower for the appetizers, Atlantic salmon with quinoa and shrimp "pasta of the moment" for the entrees, and 2 chocolate cakes for the desserts. These items really shined. They were superb and convinced us to go back sometime in the future. Sometimes our server was a little hard to find, I ran out of water for a while. Granted it was a very busy night.

We went for brunch, the wait was 45 minutes so we decided to sit at the bar while our outdoor table was ready. The atmosphere and decor were amazing so we decided to order at the bar, our waitress/ bartender was Stacey, she was so helpful with fast service. We ordered coffees to start with birdies flatbread, so delicious then we ordered avocado toast and the Sammie’s, everything was great also the mimosa flight was amazing, we’ll definitely going back, it’s going to be one of our favorite places to visit

Google
Beautiful presentation from dining room to food, failed to impress me taste wise. Our server was kind. I ordered a cup of coffee and it was alright, not terrible but kind of weak. My table shared the bread and it was good! It came with a chive butter I believe which was tasty but I thought the bread was nice by itself. A bit of a sweeter roll, which I like. I felt the menu was mildly heavy for lunch, so I ordered the deviled eggs and a side of grits. The grits were great! Nice and hot, and seasoned well. The eggs were… disappointing? The filling and presentation were amazing, but to me the actual egg was off somehow. Friends said it was alright, I don't know. Friends got the salmon and caesar with chicken. Caesar was good, although very lightly dressed. Server brought over a side of dressing quickly though! For dessert I tried the chocolate layer cake and for me it was also disappointing. It was cold and a bit hard, and it said dark chocolate on the menu but it was rather sweet and a bit lacking on flavor for a rich chocolate cake for me. Mimosa was good and friends seemed to enjoy their mixed drinks. Again, everything was beautiful but for a 40 dollar lunch with one drink I do not think I will be returning. Maybe for breakfast or dinner! Definitely a cute place. I thought it was cool that if you park in a certain garage they will give you a voucher so you don’t have to pay.

First visit today to Birdie’s. Everything was fantastic. Great service from Melissa and all the food was delicious. My husband ordered the French toast and added their crispy chicken, he said it was even better than traditional chicken and waffles. I ordered the standard breakfast. Loved the potatoes and grits! Bacon has a hint of smokiness that was perfect. Also ordered a seasonal latte that was very good. Don’t pass this place up for brunch!!!

Google
My three girlfriends and I decided to try Birdies for breakfast this morning. Upon entry we were greeted and sat very quickly. Our server, Frank was amazing. He was friendly, prompt and attentive! We were able to order our beverages and food while being brought cold iced water by the GM Nick, who was also great. We happened to walk in right as the health inspector came in and witnessed their score go from a 95.5 to a 98.5. The food, was made to order, hot and delicious! The bisquits, grits and thyme strawberry lemonade were my favorites. I would definitely recommend and revisit Birdies especially knowing the have weekend brunch and specials! Such a fabulous experience! Also huge plus, they validate parking and the deck is adjacent to their front door.

Google
Melissa is our server. She is excellent!!!I Everything she recommended spot-on and delicious!!! I had Sammie simple sandwich. It is large sandwich and I only ate half. I could have taken it down, but saved some for the misses. The pan fried potatoes were excellent. Get those with anything you order!!!! My buddy had the Shrimp and grits and there was nothing but tails left on the plate! Infrared heaters on the patio. Love it!!! Must make reservations!

Yelp
The service was fantastic! Friendly and attentive with zero ego. The ambience was comfortable at lunch but one can imagine it takes on some elegance for dinner service. The food was amazing! I had the cauliflower appetizer which was abundant and delicious. Perfectly cooked and spiced. Since it was my first time here, I went with the burger. It did not disappoint! A perfect combination of meat, cheese, and toppings on a bun so fresh it could have been baking until just before the patty hit the fire. I will end my review where my experience began, with the house margarita, spicy with a salted rim. They make all their own mixers and it shows out with this perfect adult beverage. Apologies, I do not remember the bartender's name but she was AWESOME and works every Friday. Thank you and the entire team for a great experience.

Yelp
We stopped at Birdie's recently when visiting from out of town, grabbing brunch on a Friday morning around 9am. Food - delicious. Benedict, eggs, coffee, latte, potatoes - all spot on. Zero complaints Ambiance - updated but a bit retro. Clean, open and bright. Nice central location Here is my only complaint. We stopped by for brunch and hence the name, we assumed it was a Barroom. Apparently that's not the case. After attempting to order a Bloody Mary and Irish coffee, we were informed they do not serve alcohol from opening until after 10am and they didn't have a bartender. Our waitress seemed rather distant and bothered by our request as she informed us it's against the law (I assume she's referring to the Brunch Bill however this only applies on Sunday). Keep in mind, the menu lists brunch only until 11am. Not sure where the disconnect is but seems to be a missed opportunity. Will maybe try to give it another shot for supper if back in the area

Yelp
2 Appetizers 4 Drinks 2 Entrees plus an add on 1Dessert Loved the vibe and ambiance. Service was good. There were a few mistakes such as bacon came on our deviled eggs after we asked for no pork, then the server dropped one of the eggs on the table when sitting the plate down. Those mistakes were rectified. My beef stroganoff was good. Hubby has a salmon salad that was very fresh. I ordered a dessert to go because I was too full. I will say that the appetizers and drinks were the star of the show that I would return for.

Yelp
Have been to Birdie's twice now for dinner, and have thoroughly enjoyed both times! The food is honestly really, really good! I ordered the "warm pull-apart bread" (homemade scallion butter and sea salt), roasted tomato basil soup with grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, beef sliders, and steak frites (with fries and Béarnaise sauce). My favorite item was the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was thick, creamy, and hot (with a bit of pesto and croutons) and the grilled cheese was the BEST grilled cheese I've ever had. The cheeses included sharp white cheddar, Gruyère, white American, and fontina, with a garlic cream sauce. The bread was THE absolute softest, and fluffiest bread I've ever had- it just melted away in your mouth. It was like eating a cheesy cloud. I love that you can sit at an outside table, or "outside" at the bar, or inside. Service was super friendly and helpful, and made our experience great. Would highly recommend Birdie's and will definitely be returning!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for a Sunday brunch and sat at the bar on a solo date (my fave). First of all the atmosphere is really pretty and open. There's a small cafe as soon as you enter where you can grab and go or sit and chat. I started with the Smoked Old Fashioned that was mixed to perfection (2x) by my wonderful bartender. I ordered the crispy Brussels as a starter and topped it off with some French toast and a side of bacon because I was feeling really savory and sweet. The Brussels were definitely crispy and not too bad, but the bottom layer of "Mayo" I believe wasn't really my thing. Now the French toast was definitely a nice touch. It had some blueberry jam drizzled with a lemon creme and I topped it with some syrup. I'm not usually for the sweet, but I had a taste for sweet and salty this day so this was perfect. This dish was delectable! I'd highly recommend it. Overall, good experience for sure.

Yelp
I already thought Birdie's would be good based off pictures and videos I had seen but it actually surpassed my expectations when I came in. To start off- the restaurant is huge and beautiful. There's gorgeous bar seating, booth/table seating, and outdoor seating to choose from. It's a great spot for pictures as well. Parking is a little tricky- gotta get lucky with street parking or find a nearby lot since it is downtown. At the front of the restaurant there is a little cafe with desserts and coffee. I'm a sucker for a good coffee so my friend and I both ordered a strawberry matcha which your server will bring to your table or you can wait for. The matcha was GREAT and I would definitely try their other drinks based off that. My friend also got a slice of cake which she enjoyed. For lunch, we got the deviled eggs, shrimp and grits, and proper burger. The deviled eggs change flavors monthly I believe and they were very good. The shrimp and grits were a 10/10 and extremely flavorful. I normally like a smashburger and was hesitant to try the proper burger, but it was fantastic. Everything we ordered was so delicious and I would come back here for any occasion.

Yelp
Birdies has such a wonderful weekday breakfast! The ambiance and the decor in the restaurant is gorgeous, so inviting and brightly lit. The staff is always super friendly and willing to accommodate. Weekday breakfast can get pretty busy and on this particular day it seemed they did not have enough servers for all the customers but it was a Monday so maybe that's to be expected. There's something for everyone on the breakfast menu but the standard was delicious, the perfect assortment of all the classic breakfast items cooked perfectly. The potatoes and grits were delicious and the biscuit is a must have! I also had a latte which was delicious as well.

Yelp
Went here with my friends for my birthday. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup which I know sounds super basic but holy cow it was amazing.

Yelp
Birdies was sooo delicious. The place has such cute vibes and is in a nice little part of the city with a parking garage right across the street. Their menu looked amazing and we definitely want to go back to try more. We started with the deviled eggs, which were Asian-inspired that day, and the crab dip. Both were yummy, and I loved that they gave us extra crostini for the dip at no extra charge. I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and it was amazing. So creamy and flavorful, the perfect mix of grilled but still soft. My husband got the Roasted Turkey "French Dip" and thought it was excellent, though he wasn't a fan of the bone broth dip. The fries it came with were great, and the portions for everything were plenty. To drink, my husband got a spicy marg and I got a mimosa. Both were good, but the drinks took a while to come out, even though the restaurant was practically empty. We didn't get our drinks until well after our apps. Still, everything was so delicious that even with that minor hiccup, we both agreed it's an easy five stars!

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic salad!! The Chopped Cob has everything you could want. The dressing is a basil garlic underneath the yummy toppings and it was amazing!! The spicy margarita and smoked Old fashioned were fantastic too!! The service was great. The bartenders were very accommodating to special small changes asked. Great location too in the heart of downtown!! We'll definitely be back because there are many more things to try on the menu!!

Yelp
Definitely get reservations before going. They sat us down quickly. The service could have been a little quicker in between ordering and delivering. Took a while for our waitress to come to the table initially. It also took a while for our waitress to take our main order. Because of the slow pace, we were getting full off the appetizers and almost didn't order a main course. The food was very good. The deviled eggs were amazing. The Brussel sprouts had a good flavor, the bread with gravy, jelly and butter. The Bloody Mary was super delicious. My friends enjoyed their mimosa flight. The standard breakfast was good. The eggs were so delicious and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I can't wait to return!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service good food and nice atmosphere I would come back again. Shrimp tacos and sides were great!

Yelp
Cute spot for date night. We started off with cocktails - Margarita (good) and Birds of a Feather (good, but a little sweet for me). For dinner we had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and Proper Burger with Brussels sprouts. The burger was amazing! Everything else was good.

Yelp
This spot was recommended by a friend who said I had to go during brunch while I was in town visiting my son. So glad she did. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was open and inviting. The hostess said it would be about a 10-15 min wait which was fine but we only ended up waiting about 5 mins or so. My son and I ordered the deviled eggs(delicious), brussel sprouts(not bad at all) and the biscuits(fluffy, I enjoyed mine with the blueberry jam) as our appetizers. I ordered the strawberry lemonade and just asked for it not to be carbonated. Enjoyed it!! Entrees: Eggs Benny(I substituted the ham for blackened salmon), French Toast and Chicken sandwich with potatoes. Everything was really good. My son did say that though his chx sandwich was good he wished it was seasoned more. I think we will definitely go back to this place. Our server Georgie was excellent!!!

Yelp
The turkey French dip was truly to die for!! One of the best sandwiches I've had. Birdie's was centrally located and had a nice space. It was nice an open with great natural light - perfect for a brunch or intimate dinner. The service was decent, some things took a little longer, but nothing crazy. Overall a good experience.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant has breathtaking decor. The food looked fancy and was presented well, but the taste wasn't as good as it looked. I liked the Brussels sprouts, flatbread, and salmon (not the quinoa tho). Their dessert was too sweet, key lime pie was a little tart. I'd give the food a 3.5/5 stars. Server was nice but not particularly attentive. Ambience was the best part of the whole experience, and everyone seemed pretty dressed up. There was live music, which was enjoyable but made it hard to hear each other.
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday celebration and I'm so glad I did! We had the KINDEST server, who was attentive and lovely! The vibe was fun and energetic! We sat inside but the outdoor area looked casual and engaging (swings, artwork, cornhole). We loved our shrimp and grits, buttered bread, and strawberry cake!

Yelp
Birdie's is a beautiful restaurant. The parking here is effortless. Hostess was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Some of the food we ordered at Birdie's Barroom and Kitchen was a huge disappointment. First, the seating was right behind the hostess station, and the ledge next to our table hadn't been cleaned since the last tenants were in the space--very dusty! Our server, Stacie, seemed nice and welcoming. I arrived before my friend and was checked on a bit too frequently, which made me feel pressured to order. I went ahead with the Dirty Shirley and the evolving deviled eggs. The eggs were enjoyable. The dirty Shirley was prepared with way too much grenadine. Once my friend arrived, we shared the Birdie's Biscuit, which was delicious, especially with the honey butter, jam, and gravy. Things took a turn when our entrees arrived. I ordered the Hippie Hash Bowl, and I was very disappointed. It was served on a plate, not a bowl, and looked nothing like the description on the menu--plainly presented, with a very small portion and little flavor. It was not good at all. My friend had the bacon and potatoes. The bacon was delicious! We were fairly full from the deviled eggs and biscuits, so this was really our saving grace. Unfortunately, the potatoes were under-cooked and lacked flavor (not the crisp herb as described on the menu). What made the experience worse was the lack of attention when we voiced our concerns about the food. Our server, who had been so persistent about taking our order, disappeared after food arrived. When we asked for the potatoes to be removed, she needed to check with her manager. Overall, a disappointing experience at Birdie's. The Togo Strawberry Birthday cake slice looked nicely prepared. A few things can be enjoyed. Water, Deviled eggs, biscuits and cake. That's all for now.

Yelp
Well, they did one thing right. They sat us quickly. We sat at the bar and this was mid-afternoon on a Sunday, so the place wasn't super busy, probably the main reason we were seated quickly. From there the experience went downhill fast. The bar top had leftover crumbs and water/condensation from previous customers. Neither of which got cleaned up by anybody. Menus were placed on top of them so obviously they were seen by the staff and just plain ignored. In the world we live in, not cleaning something in-between customers is just plain gross and unsanitary. Moving on, my wife's martini tasted like a lemonade with a little gin in it I'm glad I got a beer so the bartender couldn't screw it up. The "pull-apart" bread had to be cut apart and it was stuck to the dish. It was also very sweet. Best part so far was the butter served with the bread. That's sad. Between all of the amazing experience so far, the slow response from the bartender, the cold blowing from above giving me a headache, and no sign of anything improving anytime soon, we decided to call it quits and leave. Our first and last time at this place.

Yelp
Tonight we came very spontaneously. We had no reservation, we're with our toddler. But they graciously sat us. One gentleman there kept checking on our baby. Bringing her stuff to keep entertained. We were impressed. Our server torrie was so sweet. The restaurant was very beautiful with high arches, chandeliers, relaxing yet happening vibes. We ordered the lobster roll, deviled eggs, and the "Proper burger". Every thing was so good! That burger was the best burger in town. Hands down. It was such a pleasant evening, thanks to the staff. Thank you!!

Yelp
I had a pleasant dining experience at Birdie's for brunch. We had a few cocktails and entrees. The French toast was amazing but I do wish it was accompanied by a side of eggs or fruit. My friend enjoyed her standard breakfast and swapped the bacon for shrimp Service was quick and the staff was friendly. Plenty of street parking nearby. They have a bakery in the front is the restaurant but I'll have to try that next time when I return for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Hummmm idk maybe it's because it's a new restaurant but my first experience just didn't do it for me. I'll give it another try as a coffee shop but the meatballs were cold. I ordered a second batch and that was even room temperature. They weren't busy just didn't try to heat them. Crab dip was tasty but nothing to write home about as it was soupy. Ambiance is nice, people serving are super, outside area is nice, Please get the food right!
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
The weather was perfect when we came here so we decided to sit outside and they have a really nice outdoor area with cornhole sets and some outdoor swings. Would be super fun to meet up with friends or bring kids here. We got the bread as an appetizer which was really nice and soft, and we enjoyed the scallion butter that it was served with. I got the salad which I thought was OK. I feel like the dressing could've used a bit more acidity or it could've been served with a lime slice to bring out the freshness of the salad a bit more. My boyfriend really enjoyed the stroganoff. I tried a couple bites of it and thought it could've used a bit more salt. I would give the food itself an overall 7/10 but the ambiance is great and love that it's walking distance from where we're located.

Yelp
Fantastic experience for lunch at Birdie's - excellent service and delish food! The Spicey deviled eggs were some of the best we've had. The chicken sandwich was a perfect bite - fresh flavorful chicken and slaw plus pickle. Highly recommend if you're visiting Raleigh!

Yelp
I was so excited to come here because it's absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a disappointment. Our drinks were both not to our liking, but this is more personal preference. The Arnold Palmer was not sweet and mostly tart from the lemonade. My latte was probably good for a coffee lover but I didn't taste any sweetness so I asked for extra sugar. We started with the pull apart bread. Personally, I wish it came with honey butter. The scallion butter was fine but I don't think it enhanced the experience. The cast iron seasoning wore off onto the bottom of the bread, giving it a moldy look. I googled it to make sure it was safe lol. The bread was soft and sweet, but the middle roll was definitely not fully cooked. Very doughy. For the main course, I got the Bennie. The hollandaise was a little too lemon forward, but the rosemary ham balanced out those flavors. The eggs were cooked well, with a good amount of runny yolk. I was excited for the crispy potatoes but there was absolutely zero seasoning. I had to ask for salt. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich. They didn't have any issues making substitutions, so that was nice. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was flavorful. I thought the pickles added too much sweetness though. The fries were cooked well but again, no seasoning. I would like to come back and try something else eventually. I think they just started doing brunch so maybe they were still getting used to it.
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
This place was so cool! They have an indoor outdoor bar with live music on the weekends!! Brunch is a MUST. The deviled eggs and bloody Mary's are amazing!! They have mimosa flights and they make homemade biscuits. The bartenders were so nice and gave great recommendations!!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
Loved my experience here. There is plenty of street parking and parking garages surrounding the restaurant. They have inside and outside seating. Opted to sit inside on a Wednesday around 5:30pm. It was not too busy. While I did not order drinks, their drink menu was excellent. Ordered the pull-apart bread, which came out hot and with delicious butter. For my main, I ordered the Proper Burge,r which was messy, but delicious, and my fries were extra crispy. My partner ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup and enjoyed their meal as well. My server was super nice. I would definitely return.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
The interior is beautiful and the outside seating area was nice. There's an area with swing benches and faux grass. The kids liked running around. The good was delicious. Hot honey cauliflower was yummy. Shrimp tacos were good and crispy chicken sandwich was good. The kids meal came with huge portion of side fresh fruit. The cocktails were very well crafted.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a charming downtown restaurant with a nice outdoor area. The dog friendly atmosphere on the patio was great! We ordered cocktails freshly made with natural ingredients. The rotating deviled eggs were spicy, just like you would expect with the red hot sauce. The entree - the banh mi was so good. The veggie sandwich with a side of dipping sauce almost made me believe that I was eating a French dip in Paris. This is a solid choice for an evening out at a new restaurant.

Yelp
Part cafe, part restaurant, and part bar, the new Birdie's fills in the long-vacant Cafe Carolina space on Fayetteville Street. The space has been renovated nicely, very high ceilings, retro lighting and tile gives Birdie's a bit of a throwback but modern feel. There's also a large outdoor patio behind the bar for dining al fresco. I imagine the local building patrons and after work crowd will enjoy the decor. Birdie's menu is pretty all-American, burgers, sandwiches, salads and entrees covering all the basic protein options. I did the chicken bbq meatballs and burger which were both solid. Birdie's is part of the LM restaurant group (Carolina Ale House, Vidrio) so the team running the joint is very experienced. Overall I liked Birdie's but it feels a bit more posh than what the menu/food offerings will deliver. But it's still great to have another dining option on what is pretty much, downtown Raleigh's main street!
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
This was my first visit, and it did NOT disappoint! The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. The ambiance is stylish and cozy--perfect for brunch with friends or a cute date night spot. I went solo for lunch and ordered the shrimp tacos (which come with fries), and they were so tasty!
google avatar

Orvina W.

Yelp
The food was ok, the drinks were pretty good and the service was great! My sandwich was extremely dry but the actual chicken was decent. My friend has been here for dinner and enjoyed it so I would probably come back for dinner.
google avatar

Brittany D.

Yelp
Came here 3 weekends in a row lol with friends and family in town. Food is always delicious, with several vegetarian options. Drinks yum, service always friendly. I love the ambience inside, chic, clean, classy. When it's nice outside their patio is great with a grass area and swings.

Yelp
Birdie's in Downtown Raleigh is a beautiful spot to grab brunch (weekends only), lunch or dinner. They also have a cafe and coffee shop at the front when you first enter for breakfast or a quick lunch. My husband and I made a reservation to meet up for lunch. It was the roast turkey "french dip" and a mocktail (I tried both mocktails) for me and the grilled cheese & tomato soup for him. I was not too impressed with the lunch menu and what we ordered. The first mocktail I ordered was way too sweet (this one was with lemonade) but I really enjoyed the second one (this one was with blackberries). I'll have to return to try this spot for dinner.

Yelp
Kendra was absolutely amazing. This was my first time here and everyone was delightful. The ambience is everything, the food was amazing, Kendra was amazing we mentions it was my dad's birthday and she made it special. Definitely recommend

Yelp
The iced lavender honey black pepper latte Was delicious it's a crazy combo. So for service is great And the chairs and the colors scheme and the tables are too close together. It's classy but welcoming the lamps and the gas

Yelp
Went for a girls brunch. So fun! Service was great, loved the vibe. Parking is always crazy but the food was so good!

Jade W.

Yelp
If you are craving good Mac and cheese and ribs eat here!!! Everything else was subpar and we were fighting gnats and flies the whole dinner so that definitely took away from the experience. The service was good our server was attentive and nice but brought out forks to eat ice cream with . Many dishes came out lukewarm even had to send back the tomato soup and fries that came with shrimp tacos were hard and cold. Overall, probably would try the brunch here but there were several areas for improvements.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience at Birdie's! I visited during Triangle Restaurant Week and ended up ordering off the regular menu. Meghan & Lex were absolutely fantastic in making recommendations and making my first time experience wonderful! Highly recommend Shrimp & Grits and Heritage Pork Ribs!! We also had tomato soup and the hot honey cauliflower. Everything was delicious!

Yelp
One of my good friends treated me here for brunch. This restaurant is so beautiful and the food was exquisite. The restaurant was a vibe, the staff was amazing. I'm so glad that she made a reservation, we were able to walk right to our table. I also noticed they have outdoor seating, so I can't wait until spring to come back. Prices are reasonable for this style of restaurant.

Yelp
Went here with a group the other Saturday. One member of our party did receive their Avocado toast - burnt but when she brought it to the attention of the waitperson she promptly addressed it and took action to correct it. The service while not fast is appropriate for a brunch crowd. I will say the staff was very attentive as was the manager. When I mentioned going to brunch several weeks later, it was one of the 1st places mentioned as a possibility from someone who was in our group the other week.

Yelp
Located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, this bar/bistro is a gem. The staff is warm and friendly and the decor is very welcoming. It's got an upscale NYC flair and aesthetic which is very nice. The food was delicious and our server Jasmine was amazing! If you're in search of a new place to hangout downtown, I'd highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I great modern spot with an upscale vibe! Overall setup of the restaurant feels like a NYC restaurant which is a fun change up for a Raleigh restaurant. Had trouble figuring out what I wanted because everything looked so good. Ended up getting the crab dip which was incredible, the turkey French dip which was a great, lighter take on a French dip that left you satisfied without leaving you bloated like a traditional one might. Also sampled the burger and grilled cheese with tomato soup and all were great as well! (Was hungry so I forgot to photograph anything) Food and wait service was great. Bar service was pretty slow felt like they were just down a bartended because from what I could tell they only had two bartenders for the entire bar and restaurant but everything else was so good it could've bring down the vibe. A fun new spot worth checking out when you're in the mood for a good balance of new American as their menu spans lots of styles and pallets.

Yelp
Food - poor, burger was cool, cheese not melted, roll a bit hard. Soup cool, cheese sandwich hard. Food for our group of nine came at different times Service - our poor server was ill trained. Brought two bottles of wine, put them on the table and left, never opened them. So we opened them. All food dropped at wrong quest. The place is in need of an expiditer, some of our entrees should never have been served.

Yelp
Oh dear. Let me just start by saying I fully realize this is "week one" and naturally there will be kinks to work through. The owners of this adventure also operate Carolina Ale House and by the end of our meal, I kind of wished we were there instead.. The highlights: the space is great on Fayetteville, easy"ish" parking but no valet. The decor was stunning, it has that modern retro with deep green and gold fixtures, the lights were perfect. Sets you up for a classy diner in the dining room. They have another area called the blue ridge room, I didn't get a good peak back there but maybe it was more secluded? I'm not sure of the allure, you have to request it when booking. The bathrooms were sparkling and have full doors which women appreciate! There is an open yard space behind the bar and the window opens to let you sit there and order. Green space and porch swings, looks like a fun area, would be extra cool with some fire pits. Friendly hosts and we were whisked to our table swiftly even though we were a few mins late. We were in main dining room, in one of those two by two with long back seat (why can't we eliminate these, I hate them). Now the kinks.. our waitress was not on her game. It was a good 10 minutes before she took our drink order, I had the dirty martini (this is important) she asked if I wanted it shaken or stirred and confirmed the vodka and my husband had a draft. About 10 minutes later she sets down my luke warm martini and the beer.. no olives in the drink (they come with blue cheese olives per menu). "Where are the olives", "oh, we are out" "Can I have any olives?" 'I'll check". - she comes back "we only have spicy olives, no regular olives..." "ok let's try that". These olives were seriously spicy, she brought them separately, I took a nibble and decided not to eat them but my martini was also spicy. So next round I order G&T and send the martini back (no comp btw). We ordered appetizers that took a good 20 or so minutes, honey cauliflower and deviled eggs. The eggs were pretty good but I realized she never told us what kind (they rotate) and we didn't ask, so they were good but we will never know what they were lol. The cauliflower was way underdone, almost raw but the coating sauce was good. For our main I had shrimp and grits and hubby had salmon. Another 30 min later (or more at this point), dinner arrives - it's ice cold. My grits were clearly out for a while, the shrimp was ok but not well seasoned. Salmon was ok, lightly burned, but the rice it was on was very cold. At this point, we decide no dessert but that's ok because as we took our third bite the waitress shows up and asks if we want dessert, we say no, she walks away and comes back after we have three more bites and asks if we are ready to pay...... at this point we are so exhausted we actually pay so we can go and she asks if we will be back......Time frame for reference, 7pm sat, depart just before 9. All in all, we won't likely be back but maybe for drinks on the green. It's hard to say if this was waitress, kitchen or bar, manager or all the above. Hope they work things out, it really is a great space! I think if the manager and or waitress had at least acknowledged the issues I would feel more confident about the future here. The tables around us were in the same boat, so it did feel like we were all in it together :)

Yelp
Okay, Birdies, you've officially stolen our hearts (and our appetites)! My wife and I popped in for drinks and snacks, and wow - we're already planning our next visit before we even left! We started with the brussels sprouts, flatbread, and deviled eggs because... well, why choose just one? Best decision ever - they were so ridiculously good we almost didn't order mains. Keyword: *almost*. That stroganoff came calling and boy did it deliver! Now let's talk drinks - my Old Fashioned was smoother than a jazz solo, and that thyme cocktail? Unexpectedly delightful! My wife's espresso martini packed the perfect punch (just how she likes it) with those cocoa bitters adding a fancy little twist. And my nightcap whiskey sour? *Chef's kiss* - I'd bathe in that thing if it was socially acceptable. Oh! And that sticky toffee pudding? Let's just say if it was a person, I'd propose. No shame. The vibe gave us "Gatsby goes business casual" - fancy enough to feel special but chill enough that we didn't have to sit up straight the whole time. Even on a Monday, the place had great energy!

Yelp
Not awesome and not horrible. They were out of most of the beers they offer on draft. They were unsure if they had some wines. Server was pleasant and I liked the atmosphere. The pull apart bread was very good but the chive butter tasted like anchovies. The shrimp and grits were solid but nothing special. Probably my biggest pet peeve is when a kitchen makes me fight with my shrimp by leaving the tails on. I always appreciate when I get sauce over me because someone thinks it looks better on the plate which it does till you have food on your lap. The turkey French dip was very good. My son was hungry after the steak and frites.

Yelp
My original plan was to come here for brunch, as I heard many people complimenting Birdie's brunch. However, I came for dinner and was not disappointed. Both the service and ambiance were amazing. As for the food, the best grilled cheese I have ever had. To die for! Will come back!
