"The expansive patio on this East Dallas spot holds an open play space just for kids. Their parents can watch closely but get a little breathing room on the turfed patio. The kids menu has all the favorites: cheese pizza, chicken tenders, quesadillas, and grilled cheese. Parents can dip into the menu for grown-ups (and cocktails), from the vegan harvest bowl to the roast chicken breast. Don’t confuse it with Lawnie’s or the Katy Ice House though — this is a getaway for grown ups and families. "Birdie’s Eastside, from TJ’s Seafood proprietor Jon Alexis, will open on December 13, 2023, with the biggest patio on that side of town. Initially offering happy hour and dinner, it plans to expand to include lunch and weekend brunch in 2024.
