I've been bringing my family here for years, and we love it! The stylists and barbers are so nice and supportive. They work quickly, but always do a great job. I never have a problem booking for multiple people at once. It's so fun here, I will always come to birds for all of my haircuts.

I moved to Austin all the way from Maine a couple months ago. After the last barber in Maine had given me a not-so-great cut right before I had moved, I was nervous to try a completely new barber in a new state. After the different climate and other factors had messed with my hair (extreme frizz, split ends, etc), I had no choice but to take the chance at a new barber... Not only was I given great service, but my haircut was way better than I expected - the barber also recommended products I can try to keep my hair healthy and consistent at home. All my specific requests were taken into account. My hair is long and takes forever to dry, usually my appointments are 1-2 hours, but I was in and out in 45 minutes, and I left with new bottles of shampoo and conditioner to try. Awesome service, great atmosphere, and as an autistic it was very relaxing and not overstimulating. I am very pleased and look forward to my next visit!

2 years later and I’m still coming back. Sunny D is an incredible stylist who really takes her time to consult with you and make sure you’re completely satisfied with your cut. I barely had an idea how to describe what I wanted and she was patient and consultative. She’s also very funny and easy to talk to!

Service is great, and Camila is the best! Shes fast but precise, always asks what I like/want, and her experience shows! Always feel in good hands and comfortable here.

Awesome experience. Sydney was so patient and explained everything before she made a move, kept me very at ease about getting bangs, which is always scary. And I love it!!

Her attention to detail on the skin fade was incredible and she cut exactly the amount of hair off the top that I was looking for. I took a mobility-impaired friend to Birds to get a haircut and beard-trim from his usual stylist, Ashley D. A massive thunderstorm popped up during the appointment and it was raining hard by the time Ashley was finished. Her next client had not arrived yet, so Ashley graciously volunteered to help me get my friend back to the car. This took several minutes to accomplish due to his mobility challenges. Doing all this in a torrential downpour ensured we were all soaked by the time we were done. My buddy and I were gobsmacked by Ashley's good deed. Not only is she a great stylist; she's an even better human being!

Got a haircut with Ashely A. instead of Ashley D. :( First off she was late by like 7 minutes and I was early. Begrudgingly called my name out twice without making eye contact and I realized I was in for some trouble. Going to the barbershop is like going to the dentist for me. I've never have had good experience until I had my first cut with Ashely D. Sat down and she asked me if I knew here since I requested for her to cut my hair which made me feel like should not have booked her? I mentioned that there must be two Ashely's here and she made it seem like I was wrong but then after making me feel that way she spoke up and mentioned how she has been with birds for 6 years and the other Ashley only 6 months. I asked for a 1 inch left on the sides and she confused me by talking about her clippers and the sizes which I've never had anyone deliberately talk about their supplies but seems like I needed a lesson on what clippers and what sizes are. She then mentioned that I was wrong asking for 1 inch on the sides and that maybe I meant I wanted a scissor cut which I just agreed to disagree with her. She was very conflicted driven and I just wanted a proper cut without all the verbiage and having to know what a barber knows. She gave me a straight cut and argued with me when I mentioned I'd like to have the back tapered up more in which she mentioned I didn't ask for that. But from the jump when I asked for something I got told I was using the wrong terminology and blah. I'll come back but I will make sure I go with the other Ashley who listens and respects people. I don't need to be talked down to or feel uncomfortable.

Nancy did a great job. Wonderful Stylist. Made a quick appointment this morning and they fit me in and I am very pleased with the results.

Each time that I receive a haircut from this establishment it was always great. I was able to describe what I wanted and was always satisfied at the end. The vibe was laid back and they played great music.

Natalie is amazing! She just seems to understand my hair and what I'm wanting. I've got wavy hair that seems to confuse stylists. A friend (whose hair is very different from mine) recommended her and I'm so glad she did. Important note: something with the online scheduling was screwed up so I couldn't find a time then her to schedule online. If this happens, CALL IN to request an appointment with Natalie.

Let's face it, finding a new barber is daunting. There's 1000 places you can get your haircut and 1000 reasons to put it off. Well folks, that was me counting those 1000 reasons for five years when I bought a 100 dollar pair of clippers during the pandemic and made it happen and enjoyed the extra couple bucks my genius hair lobbing skills saved. However reason 1001 hit and I bit the bullet and went to Birds. Glad I did. Sydney was super rad and receptive to exactly what I wanted, gave helpful insight on what they thought would work and more importantly why, while also keeping my ideal cut in mind. Front desk was super kind and courteous and a super clean environment. I came out with a great cut and a great experience. I'll be coming back.

They gave me a buzz cut and a hot towel neck shave for the same price that most places charge for just the buzz cut. The stylist also has a lot of attention to detail and thoroughness.

Sunny D at the 183 location is amazing! She is the first stylist to actually listen to my son and give him exactly what he wanted... and he looks great! I've never seen him smile so big after a haircut. Sunny gave him a skin fade with the unique styling he asked for. And she really understands curly hair! Thank you, Sunny!

Very great kids haircut Ashley was very attentive to my son's needs and to how me and my wife wanted the cut to be. Very patient and very precise cut overall very clean shop as well the vibe was just right. Love the arcade setup they got going on and how well they deal with little toddlers like my son. I recommend Ashely for any small kid cuts she does very well and we will be back for his next one. Thank you birds barbershop!!

My sons regular barber wasn't available so we found Birds Barbershop on yelp based off their reviews and also a friends recommendation. Both my son and my daughter got cuts and we couldn't be more thrilled . Very patient and friendly staff that did a phenomenal job . The kids loved the atmosphere and environment so much that now they wanna know when their next hair cut appointment is . Highly recommend and we will definitely be back !

Amazing place! The people are so kind and welcoming. I've never felt at home at a salon or barbershop before, especially as a trans non-binary person. The people working seem very relaxed and confident. The haircuts are amazing. They're not afraid to actually give me the cut I want just because they think I need to look "girly" lol. Last time they even shaved my neck and used a hot towel, which was really nice. And there's games, beer, lollipops, and cute stickers every time!

I highly recommend Tana! My haircut came out perfect. I usually struggle to find a good barber whenever I relocate to a new area. But Tana did a great job! She knew exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely be going to her as long as I'm within the area.

Yes fast service and a professional cut for my son. Only took about 15 min. Cost a little high but friendly hip staff. Will return.

I got my first haircut from Raven sometime during the pandemic when my hair had gotten longer than ever before. I was planning on going short again but she encouraged me to try a new style and embrace the longer, curlier hair. I gave it a shot and she did an amazing job. I've staid with her and she has made some modifications to my hair along the way but her commitment to listening to what I'm wanting and guiding me to something better is always on point. I'll be a loyal Bird's customer as long as Raven keeps styling my hair!

Camila has been my stylist for the past two years and has done such a great job, I've had my son start going too! Never had a bad cut with her, and my kiddo has no complaints either.... And he's a teenager so that is saying a lot! Thank you!!

I highly recommend booking at this location. Particularly with Sydney who has good attention to detail, listens closely, and always does great work. Olive at the front desk is also personable and kind.

Had my car booted in the parking lot.Had to pay $100 to have it removed. The spot I parked in was unmarked and the full time parking attend didnt bother to let me know it was restricted parking, even though he did say he "followed me" after I parked there. I wouldnt mind paying a fee if it had been clearly marked(I wouldnt have parked there if it had been). The full time parking attend could be used to charge people up front to park their. Instead of allowing people to park there, following them down the street, then returning to boot the car. I Really feel like the owner is purposely Scamming people. If you dont want people to park there a few signs would be cheaper than paying for a full time Parking attendant who does nothing but disable cars and then collect $100 buck from the unsuspecting car owners.

This is a great place for an affordable cut! I've been coming to Norma and Steph for about 6 months and they are both pretty awesome. I get so many compliments on my cuts from my friends and family to random strangers. It's kind of an urban barber shop that has a cool vibe and beer while you wait. I'm typically in and out in about 30 minutes. The downside is that you have to call same day to get on the wait list, but I just heard that they've introduced a new app that lets you make an appointment the night before and eventually you should be able to make an appointment seven days out. I'm super stoked because it will take away the anxiety of having to call right when they open the day I want a cut. If you go by tell Steph or Norma that Wes sent you!

I haven't had a haircut in quite a long time. I was looking for a big summer change and scheduled my appointment here. My barber not only didn't do any of the things I requested, but left a raging cowlick in the back. Great atmosphere, but learn a bit about who you want to cut your hair first!

Tip: don't just assume any stylist at Bird's can cut your hair. Made an appointment for anyone to cut my mid length hair. Not picky, hair is hair. Asked for shoulder length, stylist recommended a little shorter. I said sure. She gave me a cut that barely covers my ears. It's also totally uneven. She literally said "well, fake it til you make it" as she led me to checkout. Yikes!! Never again!

people should boycott this business for the way they treat their employees. my haircut took forever because the person cutting my hair also had to answer phone calls and work at the front desk too. it was absolutely chaotic, like you don't have a manager? I was there for an hour to get a fade.. hire a front desk person PLEASE!! maybe hire a manager or something? idk. haircut was great. but took all day it seemed to even get in the chair.. poor management!

Went to birds to get my son a fade. Got a decent cut but not a tight fade like I asked for. People are friendly but this place has a "Great Clips" vibe for barbers IMO. Not bad overall.

My first experience at Birds was a great one. The vibe in the shop is very fun, relaxed and laid back, pricing is affordable for a men's haircut, and Alex did a great job. I would recommend this spot if you are looking for a new barber.

I couldn't be happier with my haircut from Chelsea at Birds Barbershop! Chelsea did a great job hearing me out on what I was going for and provided valuable suggestions to improve my new look. After my haircut I left feeling so confident and great about myself, I actually got a phone number and a date within 3 hours!! If you haven't been to Bird's before I would highly recommend Chelsea she was personable and professional!

Everyone here is amazing!!!! Excellent energy and very skilled and professional stylists. I brought my son and two daughters here for haircuts and I am very happy with the service and results. I asked for something stylish for each kid (and not the typical kid cut) and got exactly that. All three kids look amazing! This is definitely our new go to shop!

We've been going to this location for years and have been happy with every cut! I just took my 10 and 12 year old to get cuts and Ashley did a great job as always!

We visited for the first time last week and we really liked it. I took my teenager son to get a haircut and he was very pleased. We are definitely coming back.

First time ever going and I had Sydney. She is grade A! First time in 22 years of my life has someone actually cut my hair the way I wanted them to. Truly the best I've ever had!!!

Camilla is just amazing!! On Monday, my ex took my 5 year old son (Miles) in for a haircut. (I should preface this by saying that his dad never takes him to get his haircut. I always take him, because he is a different guy when his dad takes him. Plus, this was my son's first time getting his haircut at Bird's). They came home and my ex looked frazzled and disheveled. I asked him how it went, and he simply said fine. My son looked absolutely amazing. He had the best cut he has ever received. His lines were super clean and straight, and he actually had an edge up. No one has ever been able to give this young man a proper edge up. I was so excited that he was able to get such a wonderful, big boy haircut. On Wednesday, I asked my older son, who was also with them, how Miles had taken the haircut. He proceeded to give me the truth... which was an absolute nightmare!! He told me how it took about 45 minutes because Miles would not sit still. He told me how, even though he was sitting on my his dad's lap, Miles thrashed, kicked, screamed, slid out of his dad's arms, and was generally a FLAMING HOT mess. Also, he said his dad made it no better, because he could not hold Miles still. He said his dad became extremely frustrated, and began yelling loudly at Miles in the process of all of this. He said they caused such a scene that he was embarrassed to be there. I was just floored. That even after all he told me, Camilla stayed professional, didn't give up, didn't kick them out of her chair, but proceeded to stay the course and give him the best haircut ever. The amount of gratitude I felt toward her was immense. She could have given up, but she didn't. With all of the ruckus they caused she was still able to complete his cut. I had to go meet her, simply to say thank you and express my gratitude. When I did, she was so humble. She didn't even act as if my family was an issue. She was extremely nice and so very gracious. She stated it was all in a day's work, and never said anything untoward about the situation...again I was floored. I cannot tell you how much respect I have for Camilla. I had it before I ever met her, but I definitely hold her in high esteem after our conversation. I'll be taking my son back weekly to get his haircut (heavy on the I), and I can't wait to show Camilla how well my son can actually sit in a chair. It is not every day that you meet a barber/stylist with such patience. I'll not allow him to test her bounds anymore, but I definitely can't see my family going to any other shop. I hope she knows that as long as she is cutting hair, she has a faithful family that will be coming to see her.

Haircut was great, service was friendly with a welcoming environment, and they were able to fit me in as a walk in even on a busy day. The stylist was helpful and able to recommend good hair products that I have enjoyed using so far!

I went in a couple weeks ago and I Haden cut my hair in over 4 years I explained to the lady that my hair was in layers due to never been cut after I use to always get taper fades.. I strictly told her I wanted all my hair tha same length. As she started my hair cut it went fine, then she went on this long rant about nothing and was just chillin away at my hair as she pleased.. once I arrived home I was upset but due to professionalism I make it a big deal but geeezzz can these barbers/hair stylist stop talkin to much and get distracted from what the customer asked for.. I say that to finish and let it be known my hair did not get cut how I asked and now I am stuck with a hair style that I can not do much with .. if I could I'd give no starts

I have been going to see Raven for almost 3 years now and I don't plan on stopping. She is easy to communicate with, fun, and professional. She is also very LGBTQIA+ friendly and respectful. Love her! Can't recommend her enough.

Found my sons new go to barber shop! it's a little hidden gem, love the way the place is set up/decorated. Also they have arcade games. My boy got to play some pac man while we waited. It's super clean and all the ladies seem nice.

Awesome barbershop in north austin. Great location and amazing staff. I wouldn't recommend showing up on a weekend without an appointment. There app is great to see stylist schedules and make an appointment. Unfortunately you cant schedule in advance on the app. Grab a free beer, play some arcade games and wait for a quality cut. Service isn't rushed and you'll receive the full attention and effort of your barber. I've never walked out second guessing my cut. Totally Worth the price ( which is a little higher than most). TIP Your barbers!

I've been coming here for a few years at this point, Malia has been my barber every time and she is amazing. But the random wait times can be ridiculous and it's happened again and again. After every time I check in, It's gotten to the point where I have to wait over 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I'm sorry but it's too random and a waste of time, honestly.

The women at sports clips do the same job, plus was your hair and condition along with a hot towel. Birds is just an over priced haircut. Not even a barbershop.

I enjoy going to Birds as it is such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. This was my first time coming to this location as I was in need of getting my Mohawk cleaned up before I headed out on vacation. I called ahead and asked specifically for someone that has experience with hawks and the person who answered recommended Ace. Once I arrived for my appointment, I was a bit early but was seen right away. Ace asked for specifics of what I wanted done and was extremely friendly, personable, and engaged in some great conversation. She was patient and took her time to make sure everything was legit. Go see Ace, she is awesome!!

I needed a nice haircut for an upcoming cruise recently. Steph did an amazing job getting me in "Photo Quality" condition for my adventures. I asked for recommendations on styling and she delivered. Tons of compliments on and off the cruise and very nice photos! I've been back since and requested Steph again. Same high quality haircut every time. It's so great to find a professional stylist that can deliver amazing and consistent results every time. Also awesome conversation and recommendations. If you are like me and frustrated by the same boring, unpredictable haircuts at the local "sports" places, or looking for a professional you can count on to deliver a consistent high quality cut, go see Steph!

No walk ins apparently during this time. So we ended up going to another barber. But have been here before and did a great job we will try again

They did not give what I asked for at all - not a nice fade at all. The cut was very sloppy and poorly done. Great clips would have done better
