Microwave food and no internet on the WiFi. Nice neighborhood location, though.

This is a wonderful a cafe located among the bird named streets and lane parks of Lake Vista. They have all the coffee and tea options. A great selection of regular and gluten free pastries. Delicious quick breakfast and lunch options. Dog friendly and a free dog treats. There is an indoor play room for children. Free WiFi. There is a conference room available and outside seating as well.

The Bird's Nest Cafe serves great coffee with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Plus they have pastries from Gracious Bakery and gluten-free pastry from Girls Gone Vegan. My wife also loves the grits.

Google
The atmosphere is really cute and I love how kid and dog friendly is but its the worst food I've ever gotten in New Orleans...and surprisingly expensive for the food and weak coffee that really disappoints.

Yelp
Nestled in the bird streets north of City Park, this cafe has something for everyone - a variety of delicious coffees, ice cream, snacks, plenty of options for the kids and curated adult beverages. Stroll in for an ice cream for the little ones while you enjoy Prosecco in a proper glass. There is also a variety of local artwork, which is fun to peruse and handy for the home or a gift. The service is very, very friendly, and not pushy. A gem at the heart of the bird streets.

Yelp
Super cute and tranquil cafe. They have excellent coffee (French Truck I believe). Servers are very friendly and helpful. I've seen it crowded on the weekend (it's small on the inside), but never had a wait during the week. Outside tables and dog water bowl available. Parking lot, don't have to street park.

Yelp
Because it was such lovely weather we walked through the park and found ourselves at Bird's nest cafe. First off, kudos to the staff. The lady who took our order was very helpful. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and she advised us that it might be a little too plain! She was right and I am grateful that she took the minute to warn us to temper our expectations! We also ordered the recommended lunch sandwich of the day, a tomato, pesto, mozzarella sandwich! Oh Yummm~! Both came with a bag of chips. You could choose which chip you wanted. Awesome! And they had Oatmilk latte, and whole milk for my partner. So we ordered one of each! On the whole, great location, great food, great service and a great cafe, despite us being the only ones there! These are truly hard times, y'all~!

Yelp
I popped in here this week, as I was jonesing for a cappuccino. It was my first visit, and I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. They're located on Spanish Fort, very near St. Pius Church and School. There was plenty of available parking and the signage on the front was cute and inviting. As you walk in you immediately notice that it's bright, and the colorful artwork is cheery. The counter was manned by one lady, who was doing her best to fill orders. I was third in line and it took a few minutes. I must say that she was quick and efficient, just really busy. The guy in front of me ordered a peppermint, iced, green tea and cheese grits. The tea really peaked my interest, and although I didn't order it at the time, I'm definitely going to give it a try soon. I had my cappuccino and it was delicious! Perfect everything! There was a B & I group meeting while I was there, and it seems that this is a good spot for meetings. I also overheard a job interview going on at one of the tables. I saw that they serve coffees, teas, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, bagels, grits, paninis, and lots of other things. I'll be back and give some other items a try. Especially that peppermint, iced, green tea.

Yelp
GREAT LOCALLY OWNED COFFEE SHOP The low fat breakfast sandwich is thick with whole grains and gooey cheese and egg white. Even better they make it in house. The coffee is French Truck so you know it is roasted fresh not even 5 miles away. The owner is that great combination of cheery genuineness and efficient barista.

Yelp
The quaint little business has delicious coffee. The owner is very friendly and very hospitable. I am happy we stopped in and will continue to support this small, locally owned coffee shop. Next time we will plan to be there when it's time to eat too!

Yelp
First - Food All of the food is above average but the Muffalettta and the special salad named after the grandmother are outstanding. The Cuban is not a typical Cuban but I like it. Staff - could not be more attentive and friendly

Yelp
I tend to look for more local places when in need of coffee, as we all should. I heard through the grapevine to try Birds Nest Cafe, so I decided to check this place out. When arriving, after smiling at the local art in the surroundings and a few art abstracts, I was nicely greeted and already felt my anxiety shiver away. The lady working, Miss Lindsey, steered me in the right direction for my beverage and food choices. My Chai latte was phenomenal, the coconut milk added such an amazing flavor (oddly). I ordered a delicious panini! So cheesy and delightful. Lots of flavors. I'm glad to know this place exists! I will be studying a lot this semester and have found a place where I am most comfortable. Cheers!

Yelp
Birds Nest has it all! French truck coffee & Tea, Gracious Bakery pastries, Simon paintings on the walls and a play area for the kiddies. There is also a bunch of tables, inside and out, for getting work or studying done. I tried their breakfast burrito and it was delicious! It was like a panini wrap of goodness. The staff is super friendly too! The wifi password is on the bottom of your receipt. Warm and welcoming space!

Yelp
What a gem!!! They serve French truck coffee. Gracious croissants and baked goods. A warm breakfast and paninis. They even have an adorable kids room. Wi fi. Quiet. We rode our bikes here from Lakeview. Took the back path. Will be coming here every weekend!!

Yelp
The Bird's Nest Cafe is a neighborhood gem! It's a great space to hang out in, with plenty of seating! The coffee and food options are perfect no matter what time of day it is. For Breakfast, they have select pastries from Gracious Bakery (the bacon croissant and morning bun are my favorites). Breakfast burritos, yummy grits with cheese and bacon and much more. For Lunch, there are many panini sandwiches to choose from, a daily soup (all good) and last but not least "The Pity Pat Salad", which I love. Many goodies to choose from and he owners and employees are all very nice and pleasant to be around. It's a great place to meet and catch up with friends and neighbors!

Yelp
I am so excited to have a coffee shop in the neighborhood! I visited this gem for the first time a couple days after they opened. It is tucked away next to the community center. I met the owner, Courtney and she is incredibly sweet and friendly. They sell French Truck Coffee, which is delicious and they have a selection of pastries, including some vegan and gluten free goodies. There is plenty of space to sit and relax and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
So happy to find this cafe during my return home for the holidays. I love this place because it reminds me of cafes in Brooklyn (my home for the last 12 years). They offer delicious French truck coffee, yummy pastries with vegan options, delicious food items, and the best part a playroom for the kiddos. My son had so much fun in their playroom, I was able to eat and drink my coffee in peace while he played. I tried their cheese grits with bacon and breakfast burrito.... both were SO GOOD! The Birds Nest also offers panini sandwiches, salads, and soups and hope to try them next time I am in town. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Popped in to the Birds Nest Cafe for lunch. Tasty paninis and the soup was great. Very convenient to UNO & plenty of parking. Will be back for sure!

Anna R.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a coffee and study. It's bright inside and wasn't too crowded. The coffee was good (a little pricey though--$4.50 for an iced coffee). Overall, a nice addition to the neighborhood!

Claire P.

Yelp
At a coffee shop in Lake Vista. They serve French Truck. They have Nola Eat Fit Options AND Gracious Bakery. Translation: you can eat 1,000,000 calories in one sitting or not. But you get to choose. They have a kids' play room. Free WiFi. They're right across from the big open parks that people move to this neighborhood for. They just played Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Simon and Garfunkel, and now The Beatles' All You Need is Love. This. Is. Perfection.

Alphy H.

Yelp
Cool café in a nice Louisiana neighborhood. Staff is really friendly, offering great customer service, good conversation and that southern hospitality. Quality beverages and pastries at an affordable price.

Allison K.

Yelp
The Birds Nest is EVERYTHING!!! So New Orleans featuring local coffee and snacks! They serve amazing French Truck iced coffee and this king cake season they have Dong Phuong Vietnamese king cakes!!!!!! If you haven't had them I can not recommend it enough! Also, the morning cheese grits are a great start to any day!! DONT MISS OUT ON THIS PLACE I PROMISE ITS A GEM

Bobbie F.

Yelp
Honestly, looks nothing like the pictures. It's in the middle of a subdivision, but is surprisingly easy to find. A small cup of hot chocolate is $3.

Elyse L.

Yelp
Birds Nest has great coffee, great snacks, and great atmosphere! They have a play room for children too, and the kids I nanny love it and ask to come here all the time. Everyone is super friendly also.

Kat S.

Yelp
Went here for the first time today and it was incredible. Serving French Truck coffee with warm, inviting smiles from the baristas. Such a cute and relaxing atmosphere with great tunes! Cappuccino was exactly what I needed. If you're looking for a new coffee stop, definitely check out the Birds Nest!
