"Despite the name, Biriyani Kabob House actually specializes in biriyani, kabobs, and curries, a fact the owner will explain to you several times over the phone while you order. That said, the one dish that we never leave here without is the Hyderbadi lamb biriyani. This is a massive plate of spice-filled basmati rice, accompanied by a lamb shank that’s approximately the size of a landline telephone (photo reference, if you don’t know what that is). The gaminess of the tender lamb is balanced perfectly by the coriander, cumin, and other spices, making it not just our favorite thing at Biriyani Kabob House, but a dish we’ll drive across the city to eat." - brant cox
"This tiny Pakistani/Bangladeshi restaurant in Little Bangladesh is one of those places we often think about late at night (and not just because we’re very lonely). From Hyderbadi biriyani to lamb shank curry to spicy nali nihari stew, this is complex, flavor-packed food - and it’ll only take only one meal here before you also partake in said late night fantasies. Delivery available on most major platforms." - brant cox
"That guy Trevor in your on-camera class loves telling you that the best food in LA is in strip malls, but you already knew that. Plus, you’re fairly certain that he hasn’t been to one of the greatest strip mall spots in town - Biriyani Kabob House. Located in Little Bangladesh on the northern fringe of Koreatown, this order-at-the-counter Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani restaurant is the kind of place you take friends to once, then two days later they’re texting you to go back. As the name suggests, biriyani and kabobs are definitely house specialties here, but you definitely can’t leave without getting a few curries as well. The spicy nali nihari (curry stew) is a must." - brant cox
"If you’re feeding a family, we’re not sure there’s a better (or more filling) option than Biriyani Kabob House, the Pakistani and Bangladeshi halal spot on 3rd St. Three entrees can easily be split amongst four people, especially if one of those options is the stunning, fantastic Hyderbadi lamb biriyani. Which it should be, because the dish involves a tender, football-sized lamb shank served over seasoned rice. Add whichever curries you want to go with it - our favorites are the nali nihari and the chicken karahi." - brett keating
"Biryani Kebab House is home to some truly fantastic Pakistani and Bangladeshi food. Located in Little Bangladesh, the strip mall restaurant serves aromatic plates of basmati rice with huge lamb shanks, various curries, and fluffy house-baked naan to help you eagerly scoop it all up." - sylvio martins, brant cox, kat hong, nikko duren
