Sunny Sunday morning vibes 😎 nothing better than a slow walk and a mission: to finally try what everyone keeps calling the best croissant in London. I wanted to see if the hype was real.
I went classic and ordered a plain croissant and a pain aux amandes. Then I spotted a half jambon-beurre sitting in the vitrine basically calling my name… so yeah, that joined the party too.
Let me start with the croissant: incredible. Flaky in all the right ways, buttery without being greasy, and the inside had that perfect airy honeycomb structure. Honestly, it could stand proudly next to some of the top bakeries in Paris. It was that good.
The pain aux amandes was fine, but it didn’t have that deep almond flavor or texture I usually look for. And the jambon-beurre was solid, though I personally would’ve gone with a salted butter to make the whole thing pop.
Tip💡: Grab your croissant to go, then walk across the street to Amar Café for a coffee and enjoy everything in the little square outside. It completes the whole experience 👌🏼
