I’ve been a loyal customer of Birria El Compa for years. I’ve always loved their tacos and flavors, and that’s why I continued supporting them even through their different location changes. Their third spot is the one I visit from time to time now.
Unfortunately, I’ve had several disappointing experiences recently. On multiple visits during their Tuesday promotion, the discount was never applied. A couple of months ago, I asked about it, and the lady who takes the orders and handles the payments told me, “I’ve always given it to you,” which wasn’t true — I checked my receipts, and the discount was never there.
I decided to let that go, but on my most recent visit, the same lady — the one who takes your order and charges you — treated us very poorly, with an attitude that really ruined the experience. Food is important, but customer service matters just as much, and this time it was definitely lacking.
Another thing that has changed is the way she handles the toppings. She brings your order and then asks if you want onions and cilantro — which is something that should automatically come with the tacos, not treated like an extra. And on top of that, they no longer give beans like they used to, which was one of those small touches that made their service feel complete.
I truly hope they improve the way they treat customers and are more transparent with their promotions. Their food is still good, but experiences like these make me think twice about coming back.
