I came with my wife on a busy Sunday morning.
Every table was full. We had to wait less than 10 minutes to get a table.
I ordered Menudo, sin pata con grano. The broth is very good, it reminds me a lot of Los Arbolitos in Visalia. It's light and flavorful without being super greasy or heavy red Chile flavor. You can add more spice or Chile if you want; but I prefer a lighter flavorful broth.
There was plenty of tripe. Standard onion, cilantro, lime was added along with 3 thick homemade tortillas, odd though there was no dried oregano.
The large bowl was $14, which is kind of pricey for menudo and the size I got.
My wife got the chilaquiles and she likes them. The beans and rice with her dish were very good as well, I got to sample her dish and it's something I'd order if I wasn't in the mood for menudo.
I believe we paid $33 for menudo, chilaquiles, horchata and pina. While not the cheapest options for dining the food was all very good and we didn't leave hungry.
It looks like this is a popular place and I know they've been here for a long while, so they are doing something right.
It was about a 20 minute drive for me to get here from where I live, and while I think it's very good I can find a place in town that's just as good. If you're a traveler on the 99, or local in Tulare, this place is a must stop.
To squash a few questions in prior reviews...yes there is A/C, yes there are a couple flys, yes they take card and cash.
