Google
Love this place. Lots of seating, atmosphere is great and always great customer service! The food is the best around. My entire family loves this place!

Angel Delacruz

Google
The food is really good when you combine it with all the ingredients it comes with the birria! La comida esta my bien con las tortillas de harina.

Google
Birrieria Jalisco has been a staple in my family for 20+ years. Their flavor and quality has stayed the same all this time. The staff is always very welcoming, attentive, and helpful.

Google
Every time I’ve eaten here, I’m reminded how much I used to NOT like goat meat birria but it was because I had never had it cooked the right way! The birria here is so good and the consomé is amazing! Literally could have a cup by itself. The service staff are always so sweet and friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic birria. They also have beef which is just as good 🥰

Marlene

Google
I ordered 3 tacos and I ate them forcefully because they had no flavor , I tried adding so much onion and hot sauce to add flavor but I couldn’t even finish the last one. My dad and I have been wanting to try this place for a while but we definitely won’t be coming back.

Helen “JCLOVE” Lee

Google
Best BIRRIERIA ever. And Pina juice goes very well with it.

Alyssa Ramirez

Google
This is the best birría in all of LA, very authentic. 10/10 would recommend!

Noemi From Compton

Google
My family is from Jalisco. I was looking forward to trying this place out. Every single table was taken, so I assumed the birria was going to be delicious. ALPO dog food would have been better! The meat was dry, and it was sliced...tough, and dry! This place is overpriced for what they offer. I guess the people who eat at this birrieria know nothing about good food. Thank God my horchata was good; I was able to wash the food down. I was truly disappointed. : (

Yelp
A must try. The food is authentic and expertly prepared. The service is excellent and the ambiance is warm and welcoming.

Yelp
This place is really good in my opinion. What I liked the most was the chamorro--it was amazing--and the micheladas, but all the food was excellent. Recommended. You'll notice this spot gets packed on weekends, so be ready to wait.

Yelp
It was great as always !!!!!!! Again, fantastic! Never disappoints. It's a must come to spot. Never miss an opportunity to come and eat

David T.

Yelp

Yelp
The food at this place is good because it serves traditional Birreria. I ordered the goat Birreria and it was good. The beef Birreria is good but a little dry and tough. I recommend trying it with the tortillas and the conzumel. The service is okay at this place. The ambiance is okay unless there is a lot of people. I would go here again, if it was closer to Orange County.

Yelp
I came with my mom on Saturday May 28th 2023. We hadn't been here in years but it hasn't changed one bit in a good way. A couple of the old employees were still there. The only that changed was that they don't make fresh tortillas a Mano but the taste of the birria de chivo is delicious. We both half a plate of meat with extra consume. I love the service and the employees are the best. Get there early if you don't want to wait in line. The parking is huge but it's always busy. But it's worth the wait.

Yelp
I've been driving myself to this spot since I was about 15. I'm 25 now and still enjoy their food every single time I don't know what it is about this spot but the flavor of every dish here is simply incredible I work down the street now so I for sure go here minimum once or twice a week highly recommended !

Yelp

Yelp
I thought this birria was pretty good and above all the service by our waiter was just exceptional. Very friendly guy serving us, a nice family atmosphere here , I just found my new birria spot . I will definitely come back here .

Daisy B.

Yelp
The food is food exceeded my expectations. The birria has the right condiments and soft. The service is always friendly and welcoming

Yelp
Birria de Res is very good, consome not sun much so I would suggest you order the Birria en consome vs a side of consome. My go-to are the costillitas, cooked to perfection. Service is good all the waitresses are very nice and attentive with the exception of the lady w the bangs. The past 3 times we've been here she has a fuchi face. I don't even like to go pay w her anymore. I'll send my fiancé or someone else. I'm afraid I'll tell her something. Too snobby kinda makes you not want to go, so I just avoid her. Over all good is great like in-and-out , straight to the point. Try the coffee shop across from the restaurant, you'll love it !

Yelp
Ripped off.....Was happy to find a place serving Chivo. I asked how much meat they gave in one full order (nearly $20) they said a pound. Though when I got home I couldn't help but notice the portion, I knew it wasn't a pound. I even had to weigh to be sure, and surely enough they did rip me off. Had high expectations as I heard good things from them, but yup...let down. Won't be coming here again and careful cause they could be ripping you off too.

Laura G.

Yelp
Muy seca la carne. Y muy cara para tan poquita cantidad. Puro hueso. La salsa si está buena y el consomé y la tortilla.

Gloria G.

Yelp
100% recommend coming. Not only is the food delicious but the service is the best. They are quick with bringing out the orders.

Yelp

Yelp
After walking around Plaza Mexico with my mom, sister, and fiancée for a couple of hours, we developed quite an appetite and we were looking for a unique and, of course, delicious dinner option. While detached from the main plaza shopping area, this restaurant caught our eye because 1) it's birria and 2) my mom is from Jalisco. Other birria spots that we've visited in the last couple years have all been beef birria so we were pleased that this place offered Jalisco-style goat birria (chivo/a)! With a little more than an hour left before closing time, the restaurant was relatively empty, which meant that we were seated and served almost immediately. The staff was very friendly and provided great insight into the food options (especially the difference between birria order sizes). We ordered two full orders of birria, two birria quesadillas (corn/maíz tortillas), and horchata to drink. The horchata was very good, but make sure you stir before every sip (pro tip). The quesadillas were delicious (don't forget the onions, cilantro, and lime). And the birria orders were plenty to share and still have leftovers for the next morning (we made birria machaca con huevos--so fire!). Oh yeah, and the handmade tortillas (flour) were on point! All in all, a great experience with great food! The only negative aspect (and the reason that I've docked a star) was that they cleaned the tortilla-making equipment well before closing time and we were given lackluster tortillas for our second round. I've worked retail and in the food service industry so I understand the desire to clean early and leave early, but it definitely puts a damper on the customer-side of the experience.

Yelp
Food is good but they ask you for a tip for to go order.???? I think that's not right. I don't know if I would go there again.
google avatar

Rigo S.

Yelp
This is a good birria spot the birria is fresh and they have the options of eating Birra of chivo and of Res and if you don't want to eat a full meal you could eat some tacos

Andrea L.

Yelp
Birria is delicious. Been here twice. Once we eat inside. It was during the week. 2nd time attempted but order takeout instead. It was on the weekend and it was packed. Great food. Definitely recommended.

Daisy H.

Yelp
They had great service and showed us about the yelp reviews for discounts. They also gave us a bit extra of food.

Yelp
I was craving birria tacos, and prefer goat over beef. This is one of the few places we could find (thanks to Thrillist!) that was also open after 8pm on a Saturday. Even though their posted hours indicate they close at 8:30pm, Dora was super nice and took our order at 8:10, with the promise we would be there before 8:30. We made it with a few minutes to spare, and were kindly greeted as we walked in, and still asked if we wanted to dine in. What a refreshing change from most places these days that are locking their doors 30 minutes before closing! We kept our order as simple as their menu and requested two orders of their two birria tacos. Tacos come with the usual - onions, cilantro, lime, hot sauce), and consommé. We were excited about the consommé because it is a 100 year old family recipe. We opted to take our food home to eat (sorry no photos). The tacos were LOADED with meat to the point that the meat was falling out and the single tortillas were falling apart. No dipping this taco - you need to pour on the consommé! The meat flavor itself had that delicious goat flavor. It was a tiny bit plain for us, even with the consommé, so for me, I got as much lime juice as I could squeeze, and was a bit generous with the hot sauce. Still a tasty meal, and the friendly service here cannot be beat. If we were to dine in, I would say the ambiance is open and not too loud. A place to take your family or maybe a group of friends with a healthy appetite!

Yelp
Just saw the sign from the street and people at the consulado mention this was a great place to eat, Nancy the waitress was very attentive in helping us. Gave us good recommendation in how to order our meals. Service and food was good overall.

Yelp
La mejor birria de chivo estilo Jalisco en el sur de California. Esta birria me recuerda mi natal Acatlán de Juárez, Jalisco la tierra del campeónisimo Chololo Diaz.

Yelp
Went to Birriera Jalisco on the date of 7-10-2023 food was good I got birra ordene completa which translates to full order it's come with the option of just birria and also birria ribs or u can do one of one's depending all on you plate come with plenty of meat and also the plate is Juiced up so if you like your birria with plenty of juice the whole plate if full of it the tortilla are the best and the masa is good quality making the tortilla heco a Mano very good. The customer service 10/10 they were very quick and very respectful food came out no less than 10min after I ordered drinks came first also the sauce and the sides. I order for my drink aguga de horchata & aguga de Jamaica or as some people refer to spa water lol but the reason was it's a little way to sweet and the jamiaica was very water down hence the reason on why I gave it a 4 & also there no AC it's was super hot inside but the food made it very worth it at the end of the day

Yelp
For the longest I wanted to come to the point it became a bucket list thing. For father's day I took my wife and little one. Waited a hour and a half to be seated. Took about 10 mins before the menu came in after seating. Bought the big leg bone. Wife got the ribs and we were confused that there wasn't any rice. Once finished, it wasn't what I expected. There was no seasoning. At all. Just gamey, plain flavor. Tortillas was the best part not going to lie. Scratch this place off my bucket list.

Yelp
If I could, I would leave zero stars first horrible service second smell like it smells like poop in there and third of all the food taste disgusting absolutely horrible it taste like they put tomato juice into the consome !!!'n DO NOT COME HERE SAVE YOUR TIME GAS AND ENERGY !!!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fast and really nice service will be coming back for sure . Is not pricy and good taste
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
A 3 star restaurant is the perfect rating. Bad service, decent food, great tortillas, good salsa. The meat isn't the best but it goes great with the tortillas.

Yelp
To pricey for what it is. The taste wasn't good I was very disappointed, it has weird flavor

Tony A.

Yelp
Might be the last time coming to this Birrieria. The quality definitely dropped from the last time I visited in 2022. Consomé is much thicker which differs from before but a plus is they serve it in a much more bigger cup from last time. The consomé used to be not that thick and was much more delicious back then not sure why they changed it. We ordered two pounds of Birria and let me tell you it lacked juiciness and freshness. It was not the same Birria from last year unless we got some old Birria that was sitting there for a while. I would recommend the owner to invest in an AC unit for the inside I was sweating like a pig today, not good when you have a crowded restaurant and no AC in the middle of July and with the spiciness of the salsa burning in your tonsils.

Jairo G.

Yelp
Food is great ! Service is terrible . I ordered a pineapple drink and wanted to exchange it for a horchata due to weird taste . The waitress wanted to charge me for the pineapple drink ! He gave me attitude and I requested to speak to the manager . Once the manager came I explained why am I being charged for a drink that I did not like ! I only took one zip and immediately requested a different drink . The manager said she was going to charge me anyway ! I straight out put her on the spot in front of The Whole restaurant why am I being charged for a drink I did not continue on drinking due to a funky taste ! She decided to not charge me at the end . This is the second time a have a bad experience at this location ! Years ago I had a long hair on my plate ! Requested a refund and they said they would only give me a discount. ! They really need to focus on improving customer service .

Abigail G.

Yelp

Yelp
Got the $10 for $20 deal and got two orders of Birria. Happy with the deal! Only paid about $6.00 out of pocket :-)
google avatar

Lily E.

Yelp
The taste isn't what you expect. If you are a birria lover i wouldn't recommend this place. Its a small portion for so much. The consome has like extra seasonings not good at all.

Alex M.

Yelp
Nope never, ni con hambre save buena la comida seca, y consomé de días dos tacos ni con arroz oh frijoles envueltos en aluminio y ni eran para llevar
google avatar

Cisco R.

Yelp
I've been coming here for about five years Birrieria is good and service is good also
google avatar

Yelp
You want some good authentic birria? Well come to the city of Lynwood and try both the birria de chivo and de Rez. Make sure you come on an empty stomach. You have beer and good food. Makes you forget we are in a pandemic. The chivo here (goat) is not gamy at all. Both meats are really juicy and tender falling off the bone. I don't want to give it all out on the review. If you like birria and you have not come here, do yourself a favor and do so!!!

John M.

Yelp
I posted a review already. But, oh well, it must have not posted. This place is da bomb. The birria was excellent! It wasn't gamey. The sauce was authentic and I could, distinctively, taste the spice and chili in it. The serving temp was perfect. And the waiter? The guy was so happy, it started to get infectious. I was droopy shoulders when I entered and I was happy and full when I left.

Yelp
If you want to try authentic birria you must come by Birrieria Jalisco. Every visit to the family back in Guadalajara would send us off to a trip to one of the famous birria restaurants out of the city. Usually on the way to Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico.I remember the goat [yes goat] around the spit cooking. As a kid, it was fun to watch because there was always going to be a goat skull on the spit. Something you dont see at your local restaurant here in So Cal. There are a lot of places that make birria here in LA but many use beef because it is easier to get and people aren't saying "ooohhhhh goat". Beef birria is just fine but you need to come here to Birrieria Jalisco to taste the authentic flavors of Mexico. Birria is sold in most parts of Mexico I am sure but it is famous from Jalisco, the state that Guadalajara is in. Since I have been to many Asian restaurants where I have no idea what I am doing, let me give you a quick run down on what it is and how to eat it: First, you will be asked if you want a half order or full order. For $2 more you get double the food [full order is about $12], order the full and take some to a friend. Second, you can have mixed [mixta] or you can order the short rib or leg meat. If you don't want to fight the bone go with the leg meat, If you do get the whole order, it will be more than you can eat anyways so go ahead and try the rib. Finally, you will be asked if you want it dry [seca] or with consume [drag out the last eehh]. I cannot understand why you would want to get it dry, the consume [or broth] is the star here. I would never order Pho dry, even though we love the meat and noodles the broth is what makes this dish. You will be given 4 corn tortillas. These tortillas were either hand made or came from a very quality supplier. They were thick which is perfect to dip into the consume. You will also be given cilantro, chopped onion and lemon. It adds a very nice flavor but please don't overdue the lemon. Carb Counters, here is a perfect place for you. Just avoid the Mexican Coke and other softdrinks as well as the delicious looking desserts and drinks. This place loves social media so they give monthly discounts if you go to their Facebook. I got 15% off for using Yelp. Who knew! The service was great and very friendly. Can't wait to head back with my Dad. I am sure he will get nostalgic.

Yelp
This is a little place in Lynwood. It is great. They have the best goat you will have in town. All of their food is great. The service is friendly and fast. It does get busy on the weekend, so you might want to try a week day. Beware of the spicy salsa. Have fun.
google avatar

Edith N.

Yelp
First time come here, definitely worth the try and definitely coming back. Their goat birria was delicious. The quesadillas were amazing. Our waiter Alex, definitely knows how to attend to customers.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
I had the Birria (goat) roasted with the sauce on the side. It came with corn tortillas and I had a Jamaica drink. The Birria was tender and not overly seasoned and it was not soggy because the sauce was on the side. This is one popular spot and very busy for a Saturday at noon. Located in the Plaza de Mexico, it is one of several restaurants showcased. The restaurant was clean and the servers were friendly and helpful. If you're not afraid of gamey meats, and are not threatened by your own limitations, the Birria is a must try and a definite treat.
google avatar

Henry V.

Yelp
We came in 45 minutes before closing and there weren't any wait items for eating out. The birria de chivo had a great taste and a good amount of carne and juice. The tortillas are hechas a mano. The agua frescas and tepache did not taste fresh which was a big disappointment. Customer service could've been a little better and not question us for simply asking for more condiments. COVID: Sanitizer provided and outdoor seating available. Masks are enforced and servers wear them as wel.
google avatar

Anaid C.

Yelp
The birria was really good but nothing spectacular. Our server (young guy with glasses) was super nice & attentive. He was working so many tables & still made it work. Props to him! Where they lost the two stars is for the ladies up at the front. The lady who calls the names & the one at the register were pretty rude. Attitude & no smile whatsoever. I felt as if I was inconveniencing them by paying. Idk if I'll be back but if you are in the area, give it a try. You never know.
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
Good taste, but its on the pricey side of things and they don't have frijoles or rice. What kind of mexican restaurant doresnt have rice or beans? the kind that doesn't want me to comeback

Chely Y.

Yelp
La birria está rica y con las tortillas recien hechas mucho más y las meseras muy amables
google avatar

Ramirez J.

Yelp

I usually order there flan They make the flan from scratch..it's so creamy and super delicious ..this place is usually pack ..special Saturday and Sunday ..I been a loyal customer for the past 15 years
google avatar

Ismael C.

Yelp
Came in on a Tuesday and there was plenty of tables available, the price for a plate is pretty good. I ordered the large plate which surprisingly did not come with rice or bean... strange for a Mexican restaurant lol it goes for $13 and the medium is $11. Food is good and place is clean. It's not the Best Birria I've had that's why I didn't give em a 5 stars but none the less it was good.... I'm just very picky that's all
