For what has been a biryani option to many in the area, I have to contend that I have found better options in the area. The food is halal and parking can be found easily in the back. To start with the one star experience, the owner was unkind from the start, whether on the call or upon pickup. Although this place has been here for many years, I think it serves sub-par Sindhi (not to be confused with mouth-burning pepper rich Hyderbadi) biryani. When it comes down to the food the menu is very short and simple. Here is what I tried:
Chicken biryani - While most people love biryani as much I do, the Sindhi-style was welcomed and the owner cooked this to what many come to expect in Karachi, Pakistan. The fluffy rice was good, but what I found was that the quantity of meat was low. Pieces of meat were boney more than I could expect and not one drumstick or large thigh piece was found.
Beef seekh kabob - at the price of $11 I expected a greater quantity of four pieces, which was very disappointing. The quality of the food was spiced high for those with sensitive palates, which was expected. However, the serving was good for no more than one hungry person, and two at best. This is not what is usually given whether here or in Pakistan.
I do find that the cuts of meat, lack of quantity, and demeanor was really saddening. I had high hopes for this place, but I will look to avoid it. I hope they do better for others.
