The Best Breakfast Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"A huge menu of breakfast options at this Mid City spot includes classics and specials, from hearty servings of fruit-covered French toast to house-made fried andouille hash cakes. The biscuits at Biscuits & Buns really are outstanding. Oh, and that wafflewich is a mighty fine riff on a breakfast sandwich." - Beth D’Addono

We visited for Mother's Day, so the wait to be seated and for food was long. However, the food was really good. I had the shrimp and grits with catfish, and it was very good and hearty. I like their sauce better than most restaurants I've tried. It's different in a good way. My niece liked her chicken and waffles, and my sister said her omelet was good as well. Our server, Angel, was sweet and attentive. I definitely recommend them and will be back again.

For Our first time at the location, my 1st time ever in New Orleans this hit the spot , for us the food tells an amazing story through it’s delicious flavors and added hospitality. We both are Chef’s with a business so to be able to sit back and not leave anything on the plate, it truly was just phenomenal. Jaz our server was on it she did not miss a beat. Ms. T offer us this delicious mock tail it was very refreshing. We will definitely be back before leaving and when we bring the family back.

Had this spot earmarked on my to do list while in NOLA for the Essence Festival. It did not disappoint to say the least. The food was PHENOMENAL and so was the customer service. Had to wait a little bit to get a table as the dining area was kinda small but what it lacked in size, it made up for in prompt service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking this spot out. I had the Fish and Shrimp Grits with cheese and an iced coffee. The biscuit was very soft with a buttery consistency

OF COURSE HE FOLLOWED UP WITH A SARCASTIC COMMENT! BUT I TELL YOU THIS WEASN’T WATER SPILLS. ITS FILTHY. TRIFLING MANAGEMENT THAT WON’T TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR INCONSISTENCY. BUT IM REACHING OUT TO THE HEALTH BOARD AND GOING ON SOCIAL MEDIA THIS IS A TRUE FFO MOMENT. Don’t waste your time or risk your health eating here. Especially if you are visiting. We are from out of state and are foodies. We like to check out black owned establishments and give them our dollars. However from the moment we walked in my mind screamed turn around don’t drown. But my heart said give it a try. No one had on a hairnet that was cooking. No sneeze guard or protection for the food. Did I mention to get to the dining area or hostess you must pass the kitchen where people food is sitting out to be taken to their table. I watch people look over at it. Hell I did too. Breathing all types of germs onto someone else’s food. The hostess asked if we would be okay with a very small table. We said yes not knowing we would be in the aisle and everyone had to squeeze pass us. I was bumped several times and once had a broom passed by me by one of the busboy’s. The kitchen and dining area was filthy. I’m calling the health board tomorrow before they make someone sick. The food was horrible. Why cut meet off a thigh angry it. SMH ! The waffle was not done. And the biscuits not homemade. And before you get on her and be sarcastic about my review clean up. Take accountability and do better. We always screaming about supporting our black and brown people. Well support us by treating us with dignity and clean up and prepare the same food you would prepare for yourself. I hope you would treat yourself with dignity. Pictures say a thousand words.

First time visiting this restaurant and the food was amazing once we were able to order. This seems to be a very popular place and the wait time was extremely long...45 min turned into an hour in a half with my party requesting to just eat outside. Had we known this was an option, we would've just made that choice and not waited to be called to eat inside the establishment.

The food is delicious, my people said the fried fish was fried a golden brown with plenty of flavor and grits were good . I had the pork chops , that pig was seasoned and fried perfect .

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands Down One of the Best Spots in the City! I stopped at Buns and Biscuits today, and let me tell y’all—this place reminded me why I love supporting local. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with nothing but good energy, smiles, and genuine hospitality. The customer service was on point from start to finish. As someone who was born and raised in New Orleans and who also happens to be a content creator, I eat at a lot of spots around the city. I love to support small, Black-owned businesses that put love into what they do—and Buns and Biscuits is one of those gems that just gets it right every time. Now, I’ve been here multiple times before, so I already knew the food was going to hit (and yes, it always does). But today? The experience was next level—and that’s all thanks to Saul & Niya. Baby, whoever hired them deserves a raise, because they understood the assignment and then some. They were warm, attentive, and made me feel like I was more than just a customer. That kind of service is rare these days, and I truly appreciate it. Whether you’re visiting the city or you’re a local like me, do yourself a favor and stop at Buns and Biscuits. The food is fire, the vibe is welcoming, and the service is top-tier. This place is a whole experience—and I’ll continue to come back and support. 10 out of 10. No notes. Just go! #NOLA BABY

This Black-owned gem in Mid-City, Louisiana, is a must-visit for breakfast lovers! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, friendly, and prompt. The menu has something for everyone, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We tried a little bit of everything—fish and grits, omelets, French toast, and biscuits—and every bite was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth. Whether you’re craving sweet or savory, this spot delivers. If you’re looking for a great breakfast or brunch experience with top-tier food and service, this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
This is a good little brunch place. It's kinda weird walking in as you basically enter the restaurant through the kitchen. I got the red bean and rice burrito. Sounds weird, but hear me out. It's a burrito with fried chicken and red beans inside. Trust me it's good. One weird thing they were out of rice so I just had beans and chicken. How do you run out of rice? Pop down to the rouses and get a bag. Also got a side of grits, which was good. Maybe don't order a soft drink. They bring you cans. I got a Diet Coke and I was like man this tastes funny so I looked at the can and it was expired. Other than that good food, great service, will go again.

Yelp
My experience here was SOO disappointing and 110% not worth the wait. Food? Bland. Hospitality? Where???? First of all, the place is really small, which was to be expected. I arrived around lunchtime and was told the wait would be 30-35 minutes. I get that you can't really control how long ppl stay, but I was questioning the quoted time because according to the site, there was like 10 parties ahead of us. We ended up waiting about an hour. My friends wanted to leave, I wanted to stay. We should have left! After about 45 minutes, the site was showing us as the next party to be seated, but I kept seeing people go in, in front of us. This went on for about 10 minutes. It kept saying that we were next though, so I was very confused. Finally, I went to ask and the hostess was saying, yeah we will call you when it's your turn. I was trying to explain that the site had been saying we were next for about 10 minutes. She was so rude. Someone from the cooking area overheard and mentioned tables were being cleaned off in the back and that we could be seated. We sit down and finally order. Nothing comes with a side. I had the wafflewich which was ok, but nothing to write home about. My friends had the Swamp Thang Omelet and the Breakfast Burrito. The burrito looked sad and empty. Neither of them liked their food. The waitress never came back to give us refills. And then after we finished, she came back and sat the device with the bill on the table without saying a word. Extremely disappointing experience. Would never recommend or return.

Yelp
Hubby and I dropped in here for a quick breakfast. The playlist welcomed us from the sidewalk and kept the entire experience upbeat, literally. He like that we got to walk in through the kitchen, but I felt a little crowded in the entry way. He got the breakfast sandwich on toast, and raved over the griddled toast. I went with the hot sausage Benedict on a biscuit. I was not impressed with the biscuit, and actually struggled to find it under the hot sausage patties. The poached eggs were perfectly done. Beware the "fondue," which is the corner store breakfast version of a hollandaise, which is to say the emulsion was broken and the flavor was tinny. I splashed some of the honey sriracha sauce on it and didn't leave too many bites left on the plate, though. We both got the grits with cheese and were not disappointed. Next time I'll try the shrimp and grits or chicken and waffles. Service was excellent and staff super friendly. Because of the layout, we found the floor and tables a little greasy, but with an open kitchen, it's understandable.

Yelp
Best breakfast place we went to when we were in New Orleans! Was a ways a way on the trolley and then you had to walk through a neighborhood but so worth it. The art on all of the walls on the inside is amazing and creates the ambiance of the place. It's more of a locals place which makes the service even better because it felt like home. We had the french toast, crawfish benedict (amazing!) and breakfast sandwich. All really great! I highly recommend coming all the way over here off the beaten path just for an amazing breakfast.

Yelp
Ok, we wnt during Essence fest so the wait was long! The system to get people in and out was efficenr and the staff were super friendly and apologetic. The food...the food was so good! We had the catfish, gluten free, with grits. I wanted to order another order but I. I was full. 2. I had no where to store it. 3. I was being plain greedy. Lol! I just loved it and I am incredibly picky over fried fish. The place is very small so keep that in mind, you fellow diners are close and that affects the wait time.

Yelp
That little shot gun house with the kitchen in front served up some delicious breakfast. On entry you meet the chef, reason that's the entry. Your seated by the host , given menu to start your journey of biscuit & Buns . It was 9 of us everyone enjoyed their meal . I did grilled pork chop with soft scrambled eggs , that 1 chop was moist and tender , wished I had 2 but it only comes with one. Seafood Beignets were a hit at the table filled goodness on each nibble. The tea was old school rich , all we needed was the leaves. The service was attentive to our needs or requests . We will return on future visits for that delicious meals.

Yelp
I miss how good this place used to be. It's been a while since we've been and we decided to try it out again for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Guess we should have been a little concerned since we were able to get a table for four with no wait around 10 am. I ordered the seafood Benedict and it was so beautifully presented and then I took a bite and every part of the dish was under seasoned. The fish, which looked like it was going to be crunchy and delicious, was in desperate need of some salt and seasoning. The crawfish etouffee sauce - yes it isn't crawfish season, but these were very rubbery and I was glad there were only a few on the plate. The poached eggs and biscuits were good. For $20 I expected a lot more. Service was okay but left a lot to be desired. We had to ask for small plates for our appetizer and getting attention to get a refill was hard.

Yelp
Stopped in for some breakfast/brunch with the family. Very cool vibe, and the interior is vibin'. Food was good, service was great. A must try when in NOLA. I had the shrimp-n-grits and my daughter had the wafflewich with a hot patty.

Yelp
Cool ambiance, a little warm on the inside (just drink some cold water), Tae/Tay and and Patrice were both extremely friendly and attentive. Listen to me..... take my advice. Wafflewich..... You're welcome. Lol. Don't forget to bring your bottle for Mimosas.

Yelp
This is a cute and cozy spot. I loved the paintings and pictures on the walls. I dined with my husband and son but could easily see myself hanging out with the girls catching up. The food was amazing. We enjoyed every dish. We ordered a swamp thang omelet, Wafflewich, and a waffle. Everything was cooked to order and fresh. The food came out very quickly. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and the other staff were very welcoming and polite. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience at this restaurant, despite some unexpected weather challenges. Although there was a hurricane warning when we decided to visit, it was only drizzling when we left our hotel. Instead of waiting for an Uber, we opted to take the trolley. However, during the 15-minute ride, the rain started pouring down, and we had to run five blocks to reach the restaurant, leaving us completely soaked. Upon entering, we were greeted by the welcoming and accommodating waitress, Cynthia. She immediately understood our situation and went out of her way to help us dry off and make us feel comfortable. Her friendly and comforting attitude made a significant difference, and we are grateful for her kindness. The coffee served at the restaurant was excellent. It had a rich and bold flavor, perfect for coffee lovers. It was a delightful way to start our meal. As for the food, we ordered a variety of dishes for our party of two. We enjoyed French toast, a waffle, scrambled eggs, pork bacon, turkey sausage, and cheese grits. The French toast had a light crispiness on the outside while remaining perfectly cooked on the inside. The eggs were fluffy and cheesy, adding a delicious twist to the traditional scrambled eggs. The waffle was freshly made and had a light and airy texture, making it a delightful treat. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was excellent. Despite the unexpected weather and the inconvenience it caused, the welcoming service from Cynthia and the delicious food made it a memorable visit. We highly recommend this restaurant for its exceptional service and the quality of its dishes.

Yelp
The waffles are light and airy, the breakfast potatoes are not at all like those bland potatoes you'd get at somewhere like IHOP, and the chicken stayed moist. Food overall was solid. The one thing I did not love was the smell when we sat down. It smelled musty where we sat in the back, which made it hard to appreciate the dining experience. Would want to support them, but maybe only via take out.

Yelp
SHORT STORY Food is pretty good and not expensive like most places. Small place, but has 2 dining areas. Never had a problem with the wait but there could be one during peak breakfast/brunch hours. -Street parking only -casual dress -cash and card -reservations and non reservations *There are a few steps to walk up into the place but it's tight inside. Not sure if it's the greatest mobility accessible but I'm sure they can accommodate. LONG STORY Ate at Biscuit & Buns on Banks 3-4 times and always had pleasurable experiences. Surprisingly just now hearing it's Black Owned (kinda noticed the change) but I don't think it always was especially the first time I went which was before covid pandemic. The service has ALWAYS been great for my experiences. The lady that seats and waits on you is very attentive, patient and kind. (I wish I knew her name) It's unique because It's a house! I usually just order my usual chicken and waffles. But the potatoes, they're really great! Maybe kinda slightly burned but that's good to me. It's just flavor!!! The only concern I have is, I kinda don't like the idea of every single person passing through the kitchen area but that's just me.
google avatar

Jasmaine D.

Yelp
Food was good, atmosphere was friendly and a good vibe with good music playing. I love the concept of turning a shotgun house into a restaurant. There was no wait and the patrons were in and out. Everyone was very friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
You will wait a bit for service . Nice staff . Ambiance is cool . Creamy grits with cheese delicious . Potatoes underwhelming , fried chicken a plus my daughter absolutely loved them . I would give this place seven outta ten .
google avatar

Yelp
If you want a nice homely type breakfast then this is good. Very down to earth place. Really quaint. The food overall was a 9/10. The chicken was nicely seasoned and the waffle was sturdy and not soggy. The breakfast potatoes were a bit salty but nothing crazy. Everything was pretty cheap. We spent about $50 on everything. We spent about an hour or so in total. service was okay...nothing too crazy. Overall would go back
google avatar

Cheron P.

Yelp
The food overall was pretty good. We got there at 1, which as an hour before closing and I honestly felt very rushed which was not enjoyable. The crawfish boudin balls were okay. The seafood Benedict was amazing, I will give them that. The artwork in the place is nice too. If they are going to want to close exactly at 2, I don't think they should take orders past 12:45 tbh.
google avatar

Julia V.

Yelp
Super friendly service and hearty portion sizes at this cozy and rustic breakfast spot. Everything we ordered was delicious--from the "wafflewich" to the house potatoes--but our order was missing a few add-ons like extra cheese and the staff also forgot to include the extra biscuit that we ordered a la carte. And although the portion sizes were hefty, they could have been a bit more seasoned and flavorful. This may just be a preference thing though as there was salt and pepper included in the bag. All that said, the waffles were made with the most delicious batter and the ingredients used were extremely fresh and made to order. 7/10 I would def recommend this to anyone who likes waffles or waffle sandwiches
google avatar

Daezha B.

Yelp
*Disclaimer: I ordered via UberEats* Because I did not dine in or directly take out from the establishment, my experience may be a bit skewed. However, I will share the positives first: the food was reasonably priced, even with the additional charges/fees for delivery. I ordered a LOT of food and didn't spend an arm and leg in the process. What I ordered: chicken and waffles, seafood omelette, and a wrap/burrito item. Surprisingly, the wrap was the best thing. The potatoes were well seasoned and everything blended well for a perfect flavor profile. Everything else could use a good bit of work. The omelette was overcooked and lacked flavor, the waffle was bland and hard, and the chicken tasted as if it was cooked 2 days prior and warmed up. I won't write them off completely, but I'm sincerely hoping the experience is better when dining in.
google avatar

Clarence B.

Yelp
Great music , it's a older house so all those things that come with that. But the food and the hospitality is top notch. Best grits I've ever had and honey Sriracha was really nice!

Katie O.

Yelp
Went to biscuits & buns a few months ago and got chicken & biscuits w/ hot honey & potatoes on the side. It was all delicious. Went today & didn't see the chicken/biscuit on the menu but our waitress said you can still order it and I def recommend. Today I wanted to try something different, so I got the hot sausage benny & it exceeded my expectations. I eat a lot of bennys & this is now one of my favs (if not my fav) in the city. Awesome price for the quality of food & great atmosphere. Strongly recommend.

Kassidy D.

Yelp
Great little hidden gem in the city. This place came highly recommended from my dad. I had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was crispy and had good flavor. Waffles were light and airy. I'd definitely go back and try other items on the menu or order this again. Server was really sweet as well.

Yelp
Keep it moving folks, I was not impressed at all with the food. The food looked good only. I wanted to sample 3 dishes, and I ate a little of each, after a few bites I was desiring something more. Every bite made me feel like something was missing. Let's start with the shrimp and grits, the shrimp were over cooked and the sauce was vey blah. The biscuit was cold and hard. The omelet was over cooked and tasteless. The waffles were hard and cool. The ice machine was not working properly so we had room temperature drinks with no added ice. My granddaughter did not like her chicken, she said it was too spicy. I also really do not care for passing thru the kitchen to get to the dining area and customer's food is sitting out exposed waiting for the servers(so unsanitary) Very unsanitary and pee pee smelling bathroom. The only good thing was the very nice waitress. I felt cheated and feel like I wasted money. I was glad that I did not eat a lot of it.

Yelp
Whew! Well, let's begin with parking. I went on a Friday morning and found a spot across the street. I know for a fact that weekends have to be horrible unless they have a parking lot ducked off somewhere. The restaurant is cute on the corner right down the street from Jesuit School. So when we walked in, we were greeted by the cook. Don't be alarmed the door is by the kitchen..that was cool af to me tho lol..then the waitress came and told us to sit where we like. So we decided to go to the back room. The restaurant is a "shot gun" style house..now dont get me wrong the place was clean as fu** but they had a smell like a sour mop was used or a sour rag to wipe the tables..the smell went away after being in there for a while..the waitress came and we ordered drinks with hot wings and boudin balls. I asked if they served mimosas, but she informed me it was "BYOB" well I be damned! Wish I would have known that..lol so I'll just put yall on..the wings was good af! They come 5 or 7 pieces. I'm not a fan of boudin balls but she said they were good with the sauce it came with..then I ordered the waffwich with bacon & egg whites with Zapps chips..OMG!! I tried it without the syrup and it was good but drizzle the syrup on there and the waffwich was SLAPPING! She had the shrimp & grits with potatoes. She loved the shrimp and the potatoes..both very seasoned! She couldn't really taste the grits due to them pouring so much sauce on the grits. She could smell the crawfish boil seasoning on there..she did pour it off but by then it was soaked..so if you want more grits then seasoning ask for no or little seasoning. I have a few pics I'll update when I get her pics. Oh and the sweet tea was giving! Music wasn't blasting either. Will return for sure!!

Yelp
A great brunch spot! Was greeted upon arrival and was seated right away. The staff was friendly and my server was awesome. They do not serve alcohol but they let you bring your own which is a plus for me!!!!!! The food was fresh, seasoned and delicious. We had the wings, beignets, 3 eggs meal, hash cake and hot sausage Benedicts. The food came out fast and hot. Which is a big thing for me. Cant wait til i come back with a bottle lol.
google avatar

Tahj H.

Yelp
I would never come here very unprofessional and unorganized I was advised about a 30 minute wait I waited 1:45 mins got a text that I was next only to watch another table be sat before me that clearly knew the hostess this is not how you conduct business would NEVER dine here
google avatar

Kaila J.

Yelp
It's so interesting upon walking in because you actually walk directly into the kitchen. The restaurant was converted from a house actually, but it works well. Pretty small, the staff was friendly. Honestly, the best French Toast and Waffle we had since living in new orleans, the batter was wonderful! Only con, was our sausage being overcooked tbh, but it was doable. We would come back for sure, hopefully for a biscuit.
google avatar

Tabitha T.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood cafe! The menu doesn't do the food justice. Recommend looking at pics of the food first because the descriptions just aren't the same. Fun murals and ambiance. Friendly waitstaff. Street parking only.
google avatar

Marlene C.

Yelp
Food is so good, the grits were so creamy and the cheddar gave it that extra scrumptious taste. Chicken was so juicy. They have a sriracha honey that compliments the waffle and chicken to perfection. Staff was so sweet, constantly checking in on us. The art work is very cool. You walk through the kitchen to get seated. Over all great.
google avatar

Nicoya W.

Yelp
What a great brunch spot!!!! The food was great and the service was on point as well. This was our first time going since new ownership took over. They've made some changes for the better I must say. It was quite busy when we went so we made a reservation on the fly. My husband and I both had the chicken and waffles dish. There were a few other items I want to go back and try like the spicy chicken biscuit. The chicken and waffles was delicious. Chicken was fried perfectly. The waffle was fluffy. It came with a side of sriracha honey which I quickly doused all over my chicken. It was so tasty!!!! My husband enjoyed his meal as well. We will definitely be back for more!!! My only gripe is that there was no champagne or other spirits...im always wanting a mimosa at brunch...but overall, a great experience.

Yelp
Immediately walking in, I was a little confused of what to expect but the service was impeccable and food even better. The area is decorated with gorgeous murals but small tables. I absolutely cleaned my plate. I ordered the BBB omelet with chicken & bacon, spinach & cheddar cheese. You choose your sides so I added grits & a biscuit. My friend got the waffalicious waffle with berries and turkey sausage. The assuage was cold but the waffle was absolutely perfect. Would definitely visit again!

Brenda K.

Yelp
Great service and good food. Sorry for only showing part of my meal...tucked in a second or hot my table Grits were SUPER creamy. Omelette was fantastic with bell pepper, onion, spinach, mushroom & Brie cheese but they can customize any way you want. Biscuit fine, but nothing to rave about. My only disappointment was the hot sausage cake. Way too much potato...really couldn't taste the hot sausage and didn't care for the sauce on top - but that's just my take on it. Service was excellent and atmosphere was typical, charming New Orleans independent restaurant inside what was once a shotgun house. Definitely recommend you check them out when you're in the neighborhood. They're located on Banks Street which is parallel to Canal Street near the end of Canal closer to the cemeteries. Again typical of many independent restaurants in New Orleans, they only have street parking and no parking lot. We lucked out and arrived at a time where finding a spot on Bank Street was easy. Enjoy!

Yelp
Waste of time, they do let you bring in alcoholic drinks which is why they get 1star . Also they only have 4 apps and are out of 1 which is 25% of the appetizers menu. No crawfish boudin balls at all and nothing substitutes it. Also food takes extremely too long for basic food like a breakfast burrito. Service is very slow and inattentive. Sipped on water for 45 mins then left and the waitress had the nerve to say we didn't pay. And duhh who would for just water ???? Also we were not the only guest in the building. We were gone for 20 mins and our food took almost an hour . The table that ordered after us food came before ours so how were we the only one in the building and the guy next to us ordered ate and ordered a Togo. We didn't pay because we didn't eat . The server the service and the smell is bad. Something can be done about the smell bc it just smells like the area but the other two who knows not responding to the owner anymore after this, improve your customer service and maybe you'll get all positive reviews one day but not today !

Yelp
This place was soooo good. I never heard of it cause so many new restaurants are opening in New Orleans it's impossible to keep up but thankfully my mom heard of it and suggested we go. We got there and immediately sat because it was a rainy Tuesday morning so it was almost empty. The place is cute but definitely can use a little work, it's in old shotgun house so you have to walk through kitchen and some of the seating was like too close together. Now here's my issue we saw stuff on their instagram that was not on their menu and so we asked and the lady said it's a special but no where inside the restaurant was this special advertised so if we didn't see the instagram we wouldn't have known. That was very weird to me. Also because it wasn't on any menu we didn't even know the price or what was included. I got the seafood Benedict which is a special and the server asked me what side and I said grits. When I checked out turns out it didn't come with a side so I had to pay for the grits but they told it to me like it was included so that was annoying. My mom and sister got the breakfast ( or brunch) burger which they loved and I tasted and can say it was delicious. Overall the food was really good. I wanted to go back for that seafood Benedict the next day but they definitely have some kinks to work out about the menu and whatnot.

Niesha B.

Yelp
This place served by far the best omelette that has hit my mouth and trust me, I've eaten tons!! You definitely do not want to miss trying out this spot when you're visiting New Orleans! Not much parking so do like we did and catch a cab...

Jennifer W.

Yelp
This is definitely a place not to miss for breakfast and brunch. Tanya is an excellent chef. The food was phenomenal! The shrimp and grits with catfish cannot be missed. Make sure someone in your party orders this dish. The meal was so good that I skipped the hot sauce (not because it was spicy-it wasn't- but because I didn't want to mess up the flavors). Gonna have to return for red beans and rice on a Monday. The murals and photographs on the wall also bring about that special New Orleans vibe.

Yelp
Homely location and ambiance. Food was great. We had biscuit sandwiches, grits, potatoes, and bbq shrimp & grits with fried catfish. Waitress was OK. Downside: They first tried to sit us right in front of the A/C unit with the air blowing in our faces. Music was pretty loud and had lots of profanity. When we walked out to pay our bill, the cooks spoke with profanity also. Not a place I would like to take my daughter and elderly mother- in-law again.

Yelp
Great little breakfast place right around the corner from where we were staying. I had my first ever order of grits here! I learned that they are best eaten while still warm because once they cool off and start to coagulate, not nearly as good. That's the price I pay for being a slow eater... Food was all good, biscuits were delicious especially with the walnut butter provided! Service was great, my coffee cup was kept full.

Yelp
The picture speaks for itself, but YES, that is an egg SHELL in my omelette. Ordered from Uber Eats.

Yelp
I absolutely love Biscuits and buns on Banks. In fact I love it so much I went twice in one week. Both times the service was incredible. The second time I went was during Mardi Gras and the kitchen was behind on orders. The waitress gave us complimentary beignets bites and boudin bounce. We got both because my cousin was visiting and the waitress told him he must have both. She also recommended the best places to get crawfish. AMAZING experience. I love the aesthetic of this place also. It's like a home converted to a restaurant with great New Orleans themed paintings & murals on the wall. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
So if you have ever been to New Orleans, you probably know there aren't too many breakfast places close to downtown and the French Quarter. Biscuits and Buns on Banks is a bit further out, but is just a short walk from one of the trolley stops. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table even though it did not look that crowded. It was pretty expensive, but their portion sizes were pretty good comparatively. Everything we had tasted delicious and the wait staff was attentive and fast. When I go back to New Orleans, I would definitely make Biscuit and Buns on Banks one of my breakfast stops.

Yelp
Top notch service. Patrice was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely be back. Wafflewich was everything, omelets were humongous. Atmosphere very professional and casual.

Yelp
This restaurant gave southern hospitality and flavor. Worth the wait. Service was good once we got in.

Yelp
We had 3 different omelettes and the chicken & waffles, which were the best thing of the whole experience. Chicken was absolutely delicious and the omelettes were very fluffy. However, the sides were not good. The grits were average at best and please don't add cheese to them, it was very disappointing. The house potatoes had good seasoning but the actual potatoes tasted very old, almost rotten. The experience was okay overall thanks to the service and ambience/energy but for the price, I wouldn't be tripping over my feet to get back to this restaurant.
