"Sometimes we go to Biscuits, which is Black owned and across the street from Nancy’s. It’s one of those places where people will wait outside. Biscuits has amazing breakfast sandwiches, so I’ll get a bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit."

Google
Delicious food with huge portions. We ordered the hash and biscuit breakfast. The server was amazing and really attentive. The wait was 45 minutes but 100% worth it!!

Google
This place was 100 percent worth the wait! Some tips, just wait because the line goes faster than he you think! The pictures DO NOT the food justice but its sooo good! The bisquit benedict was sooooo good! It was well seasoned! Please keep in mind there is no actual bathroom in the restaurant ! Use restroom before hand but its worth it! The owner was sooo nice! He even took a picture with us🥰

Google
The food is not bad, and the prices are fair. The staff is very attentive, and very helpful. However, the person running through floor when we went was ridiculous. He was constantly speaking condescendingly to his staff, loud enough to dominate any conversation in that small restaurant. 1. That person cannot be fun to work for. The staff was very good and did not need that degree of micromanaging. 2. If you are going to speak to your staff like that, do it in the back and not in front of all your customers. Also at least keep the volume down so it doesn't interrupt my conversation. Id recommend this place if that manager is not there.

I know some of the reviews here are not so good but I had a fantastic breakfast at Biscuits. The staff are brilliant. The American diner style food was amazing. They have a slightly older clientele but this was shoulder season and you know the grey hairs seek value and quality.

Google
My experience at Biscuits in Martha’s Vineyard was decent overall. The food was okay, though I found the gravy a bit bland. However, the potatoes were the highlight of the meal and really stood out. The service was excellent, which definitely made the whole experience more enjoyable. While the food was hit or miss, the great service makes it worth a visit.

Google
Excellent breakfast this morning. Berry French toast and freshly baked cinnamon roll were to die for. The owner runs an amazing process, keeping everyone going efficiently! Worth the wait. Love to support a Black-owned business!

NO BATHROOM ON PREMISE! Very seldom that happens in a sitdown restaurant. This place is smaller than Linda Jean's, the other popular diner in Oak Bluffs. Busy in both places, but somehow at Linda Jean's it has better vibes, professionally more efficient. Here it just more chaotic and bumpy. And service at times very slow. So if you are in a hurry, beware. Food wise the namesake is BISCUITS, so got to be good, right? Well, my preferred version is the light flaky inside & buttery almost melt in your mouth kind, and crispy brown outside. Here's not quite. The fried chicken though was quite good and seasoned well. Not dry. Price is reasonable.

Google
Best breakfast restaurant on the island. By far. The pricing is more than reasonable for the island and most importantly, they go above and beyond the standard American breakfast. You get southern and Caribbean flavors, I mean big flavors, infused into all food items. Loved it. 30 minutes to 1 hr wait is very common and it’s almost always packed. So the service can be inconsistent at times. But I don’t have any better option here at Martha’s Vineyard. May not be greeted with biggest smile at times, but I always gratefully devour the their signature biscuits and chicken/waffle.

Yelp
We eat at Biscuits all the time. Celeste and Chris are the owners. The most friendly, helpful, caring people. The food is great and also the service. Great wait staff. They always make things right. If you tell the your special requests the always try and oblige. A Always busy but worth the wait.

Yelp
The food here is amazingly delicious and I was torn because why didn't I have biscuits at a place called biscuits but I enjoy grits too. Every item on the menu looked delish but I tried the shrimp and grits which was good but portion was a tad small probably because I enjoyed it so much. Service is really good but be prepared to wait on a line for about 10 to 20 mins if it's lunch time.

Yelp
It was good.. location was perfect. I liked their cod cake benedict. My husband liked his breakfast wrap too.

Yelp
The food was really good! It was some home cooking coming out that kitchen, plus you get lots of bang for your buck. The wait staff was very attentive & friendly, so much so it made me feel like it was a rushed operation. I assume it's always super busy with tourists doing tourists things but after studying the menu, we ordered. Great meal, heavy dense biscuits, very good though. I'd love to make the suggestion of maybe selling half platters. I wish I had know I was getting two whole breakfast sandwiches with the pigs in a blanket entrée. I ate it but it was just too much food! I wouldve been content with on pig in a blanket smothered with the gravy. I'd be willing to pay half the price for half the food. The linguica hash was very yummy! I recommend anything from this menu because this food taste like I was sitting down south somewhere.

Yelp
Right off the ferry. No wait at around 1:00, and breakfast is served all day. Great food, great service!
google avatar

Lara G.

Yelp
Very convenient breakfast spot if you are in Oak Bluffs. They have a nice menu ranging from simple breakfast egg sandwich biscuits to larger platters with multiple items. The ambiance is friendly and cheery. The interior is simple and clean. The staff is efficient and I was attended to quickly. The service is good. Multiple servers pitch in to bring out plates, refill coffee, etc. I ordered a simple egg sandwich and it came quickly. I did ask for sausage and was given bacon, but I like bacon too. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a quick and easy breakfast. I visited off-season, so not sure how busy it is during the high season.

Yelp
Second breakfast place I tried, and it was giving. Period. Five people, five empty plates (Licked clean, and not embarrassed.)
google avatar

Tamara W.

Yelp
Solid breakfast spot! The shrimp and grits were tasty, the blackened shrimp and the sauce definitely had the most flavor. If you just put the grits on a fork alone it would be bland but the two together was great. The biscuit benedict was also tasty, the potatoes were the highlight of the dish as well. Seasoned and crispy. Now the cinnamon roll WOW, melted in your mouth, we devoured that before we could take a picture. Took away one star only because it gives a loud diner feel which is not necessarily my go to vibe. Yet, the service was impeccable and everyone took care of all the tables and were so willing to help.
google avatar

Yenna P.

Yelp
Food was delicious! The biscuits theme is definitely an integral part of their menu. Multiple servers greeted us and made sure we were all set throughout the meal! The restaurant itself is so cute.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Decent breakfast food. I had a veggie scramble with egg whites and my friend had one of the Eggs Benedict. Service was good.

Maja H.

Yelp
Excellent food (and I'm not a breakfast person) and great service. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and well taken care of.
google avatar

Yelp
Basic and simple is good when it comes to all American breakfast cuisine. The service good, the food was good and the tables turned with precision. The establishment is a well oiled machine. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends .
google avatar

UrbanChic C.

Yelp
Cozy diner that serves really good comfort food. Visited a couple of times during my MV visit.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I didn't find anything really special about this place. The food was pretty standard and really didn't have anything unique about it. The service was also horrible. We waited 15 minutes before even being offered glasses of water. The iced coffee was also extremely watered down and did not have a good flavor. The biscuit was pretty boring. I'm not sure I would return here. The place might also need some updating. The pipes above me were dripping water the whole time.

Yelp
Perfect biscuits, nice sized servings, super nice staff and priced so that you stop making up new curse words with how unaffordable everything has become. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Great breakfast. I had the New Englander; two eggs, homefries, cod fish cake, and a biscuit. Every part was delicious. The cod fish cake was awesome, the homefries are little smashed potatoes cooked perfectly, and, of course, the restaurant's namesake biscuit was amazing. No dried up bland biscuits here, only amazing, delicious, fresh biscuits. The codfish cake was different but an awesome addition to the breakfast. Highly highly recommend.

Yelp
The food was exceptional, we dropped in last minute with a group of us. They were able to quickly accommodate us and we were comfortable even in this quaint establishment. It was quirky and they had serving down to a science. My first time here in Martha's vineyard but will definitely be back and when i do i will be here for Breakfastfast.

Karen T.

Yelp
Had the biscuits Benedict and it was delicious. The coffee was good and service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

Laurel S.

Yelp
great food and service! very cozy atmosphere and the servers are very friendly and helpful. i ordered a cheese omlette with biscuits, and the omelette was delicious and the biscuit was perfect, very moist and flaky. The portions were generous and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend dining at Biscuits if you are looking for a wonderful breakfast experience!

Yelp
In town from Florida to work at the hospital for the summer. Felt like I was home again. Good stuff!

Yelp
This place is jumping. People constantly coming in the sit down or take out. I can see why, the service is always with a smile. On our second visit the waitress welcomed us back and offered us the drinks what we had two days before. Nice welcoming touch. The star of the show here is obviously the biscuits. They're handmade and the fluffiest. My shrimps with cheesy grits were cooked perfectly. I love it when my shrimps snappy!! The veggie cheese omelette had a variety of fresh vegetables that were slightly sautéed yet firm. The cheese pull was on point. This is a must stop destination for breakfast

Yelp
Not busy on the off-season before Memorial Day but they were out of chicken sausage when we went which I was really looking forward to. However the Chicken & Biscuits and the Biscuits Benedict were both really good! The cinnamon roll was okay but not warmed up which was disappointing. The potatoes were bland. The interior is a little old and small. Overall it is a decent place but I wouldn't wait in a line to go back.

Yelp
Had high hopes for Biscuits, but maybe I ordered the wrong item ‍. Cute little place tucked away and kept coming up as the go to spot for breakfast, so of course I had to check it out. I got the French toast with scrambled eggs and cheese and my dining partner got the shrimp & grits. My food was meh at best. The French toast was dry, an entire bottle of syrup couldn't save it, and tasted plain (I couldn't taste anything but baked bread). The chicken sausage was good however. The star of the meal was the shrimp & grits and it was delicious! Had my meal tasted the and I'd be giving them 5 stars. On a brighter note, their music playlist is amazing .

Yelp
Pros: This is a solid place to grab breakfast while in Oak Bluffs. It's very popular but the wait moves fast. Cons: A huge downside is that there isn't a bathroom on the premises and you have to double back to the bus stop to use a public restroom. I found this to be a big inconvenience. I wish they advertised this so you could plan in advance.

Yelp
This place isn't great. Food was ok, service was good, and it is a nice ambiance. It replaced a great restaurant so it has big shoes to fill. Hopefully it gets better either way time:

Yelp
I wish I had taken some pictures but we were too anxious to dig in! The Cherry hand pie was fantastic. My husband and I both had traditional egg breakfasts and especially enjoyed the eggs (super fluffy) and the potatoes. Add this to your MV list!

Pamela R.

Yelp
Biscuits is small and inviting. The brunch or breakfast menu has something for everyone in your group. The shrimp and grits were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Servers friendly and good with the coffee refills.

Yelp
My cousin and I stopped in here after receiving a rave review from my aunt and uncle who went to the restaurant a day before for breakfast. It was an impromptu trip. We had to put our name on a "waitlist" which was a notebook and just being called outside of the restaurant 10 minutes later. Not the most complex system. When we went into the restaurant it was extremely small and looked like two small living rooms. It was also no frills- it doesn't look like many updates were made to the space however I am not sure if the owner made this decision to keep the "charm" of the restaurant. It's an extremely small and packed in space- our table for 2 was very close to the table of 2 next to us. Our waiter sat us and service was minimal. We were asked our drink order, food order a few minutes later, and that's it. No one checked with us to see how our food was, to refill water or drinks, or to ask if we needed anything else. Someone else provided the check. That was a very bizarre experience, from a service standpoint. My shrimp and grits was delicious however. The shrimp was flavored well and the grits were creamy, not gritty and had great flavor on their own. My cousin had a breakfast sandwich with bacon on a biscuit and liked it as well. I feel like it should've come with home fries or a side of some sort, personally. I always love supporting black business and our breakfast was reasonably priced coming in at $32 for 2 meals and 2 drinks- however I would highly suggest improving service and ambiance.

Izzi S.

Yelp
I got the biscuits benedict and it had by far the best hollandaise sauce and biscuits I have ever tasted. The potatoes on the side were also gloriously seasoned and crunchy. Definitely recommend getting that dish- it's to die for. The wait was not long at all, which was surprising because we went at 9:30am on a rainy day. Service was efficient.
google avatar

Danika L.

Yelp
If you want greasy southern food, this is your place. But for the long wait time in peak season and the stuffy uninspiring interior, I'd skip the line and grab a breakfast sandwich from one of the many little delis. Staff is very nice.
google avatar

Louise M.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Oak Bluffs. The lines are really long in the summer, so order ahead to go!
google avatar

Natalie D.

Yelp
For our first time on MV, Biscuits became our "go to" breakfast location. We enjoyed the food and above all the service and efficiency of the breakfast. With two little kiddos in tow, it was super helpful to have this level of friendly and efficient service. The shrimp and grits, fluffy biscuits, and the strawberry and whip cream waffles were the big hits for us. It's so easy to travel and not necessarily experience warmth and kindness when dining BUT the owner and staff made us feel right at home. Thank you for the hospitality, good food, and wonderful service!
google avatar

Jerrod C.

Yelp
Fantastic little breakfast spot. Cute, bright eatery with a lot of great options. We had the linguisa hash, cinnamon roll, and biscuits with sausage gravy. The biscuits were fluffy and the gravy was very tasty without being overly greasy. The staff were polite and attentive.
google avatar

Laney K.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our breakfast at Biscuits. Our food was hot and fresh. The service was good and the atmosphere was very cozy!
google avatar

Marc W.

Yelp
Solid quick breakfast with all of the favorites. This place should be renamed "Taters" because the potatoes are incredible!
google avatar

Tyneisha M.

Yelp
This place is located right near the ferry stop in Oaks Bluff which was super convenient for us. The service was fast and friendly but honestly I was just not blown away by the food. The best thing on my plate was the potatoes. I did not enjoy the biscuits at all. I found them dry and feel that there should be a flavored option like (honey butter or garlic for example as well as plain) My omelette was just as bland and barely had any cheese even though I added it. I would only return in a pinch.
google avatar

Chia B.

Yelp
Biscuits is a small, simple place with a diner-like menu. Even on a Tuesday morning they were busy. As with many diners, you get simple food done well at a great price which is important as the area is very expensive. The menu isn't completely simple. There are bacon striped pancakes and French toast stuffed with cream cheese. I had one sausage gravy biscuit and the yogurt parfait. I loved that they allow you to get 1 or 2 sausage gravy biscuits because 1 was enough for me. Now as a southerner, it's not 'ya mamas' biscuits so if you go there expecting buttermilk, southern style biscuits order something else.
google avatar

Bobby H.

Yelp
Best breakfast spot in Oak Bluffs! This is right across the street from Nancys. This place gives you your familiar diner style place and it was great. They open early and close early (3 pm). This place can get pretty crowded, so I recommend going early because you will have to wait, not a super big place. I had a standard breakfast of turkey sausage, eggs, grits, and of course, biscuits. Biscuit was nice and soft and flaky so I enjoyed that. Grits were a pleasant surprise because most places up north do not serve good grits so I was very happy with mine, they were seasoned well and had a good texture, not super thick or thin. Definitely come here for breakfast in Oak Bluffs but after 10 am, there's definitely a wait.

Mary L.

Yelp
We have been back here twice. Food rocked both breakfast and lunch and you won't find more friendlier wait staff and owner than Biscuits.
google avatar

Leah O.

Yelp
Breakfast was very good. We had breakfast there 3 days in a row and it was in a very convenient place for the rest of the days activities..All the wait staff were very caring and attentive.
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
We started a cold rainy trip to Martha's Vineyard by for stopping at biscuits for some breakfast. I had a veggie omelette a biscuit and home fries. The veggie omelette was so yummy and veggies were very plentiful. I put part of the omelette in the biscuit and it was just so good. The home fries were odd. They were red potatoes season very well. I had never had them that way. My friend had hash and remarked there wasn't very much meat, if any. Her son had chocolate chip French toast and there was cream cheese in the middle. He really liked his meal. The one thing that's odd about this restaurant is that there's no bathroom on the premise. We were told that there was one block away yet we couldn't find it. I would, however, return.
google avatar

Savannah R.

Yelp
Despite the over hour wait, the food was worth it. It's a small location but it does well considering the business. The cod cake was delicious, the eggs were perfectly poached, and the home fries were seasoned nicely. 4 stars only because of the long wait with no seating!
google avatar

Gabriela E.

Yelp
IBabyyyy just go! The line will be long. There will be a lil wait . But it's worth it . And the line moves quick! We had a 20 min wait . Ok food . I'm a eggs Benedict fanatic so i was so excited to get the cod cake Benedict and it was DElishhhhhh! I also could only finish 1 and took the other home and ate it 3 days later and it was still amazing . We also got stuffed French toast and it was sooo good!! Great portions so we had left overs of everything . I will go back everytime i come to the vineyard !

Karen S.

Yelp
Good place for breakfast, not sure why people wait on line for an hour and a half to get in. We called ahead of time and when we arrived, we were able to walk right in, lucky! Biscuits and eggs and grits...all very good. Servers are nice, they are doing the best they can in a small space. Perhaps they should figure out a way to do a takeout kitchen? Seems like lots of takeout orders are going on which slowed up the people that are dining in the restaurant.
google avatar

Jane C.

Yelp
I was visiting Martha's Vineyard for a day, and the ferry arrived at Oak Bluffs at around 10:15 AM. I looked for places to eat when I arrived, and Biscuits was only a few minutes away from the ferry terminal. There was a short wait, about 15 minutes, before my friends and I were seated. We were here on a Friday, so the line may be longer on Saturday/Sunday at brunch time. We ordered the south beach scramble, meat and cheese omelet with sausage and cheddar, and cod cake benedict. Everything was really good, but I wish the portions were bigger. The prices are pretty standard for a diner/brunch place, but because the portions are smaller, it seems overpriced. My omelet came with home fries and either a biscuit or toast. Since this place is literally called Biscuits, I figured I should get a biscuit. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it wasn't bad either. I'm no expert on biscuits though. I'm also not an expert on home fries, but they were basically just smashed potatoes with some seasoning. Overall I would recommend this place. The food and service are great. Come here with a few friends or family so you can order multiple plates and share. I heard the twisted stuffed french toast is really good, although I didn't get to try it when I went. If I ever go back to Oak Bluffs I may have to stop by to try it.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
The cinnamon rolls...wow. Unbelievable gooeyness. Amazing breakfast platter with biscuits and gravy. Even the sides like home fries and sausage were fantastic. Highly recommend from a first time visitor who went twice in 3 days
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
IF YOURE WILLING TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR COME TO THIS SPOT!! Lady told us our order would be ready in 30 minutes and it took over an hour! She was incredibly rude and did not know what she was doing at all. While getting orders ready she had to open each box and investigate what was in each box!
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
What's all the hype about this place? Located right across from the marina and down from the ferry terminal, it's easy to find because there is always a crowd out front waiting to get in. And rightfully so! They make some good breakfasts! I like their biscuits and gravy as they do a great job with their sausage gravy. Their 'home fries' are new potatoes that are tender inside and have crisp, well-seasoned skins. My go-to is their Biscuits Breakfast. They know how to cook eggs - fried, scrambled, or poached. They have good quality bacon. Did I mention their sausage gravy? Of course I did...it's delicious! They have pancake-wrapped bacon. We had never heard of it before and sure enough, it's bacon cooked in a long, skinny pancake. I'm not a pancake fan but my friend who ordered it is and enjoyed it. If you have the time to wait, give this place a try. If you don't have time to wait, place an order for take out. You'll be happy you did.

Ciel M.

Yelp
I don't know what's so special about this place. The service is awful, the food mediocre, it's like the emperor has no clothes! Everyone goes here for breakfast because it's basic. Basic should mean inexpensive but it's overpriced and bad. The hostess is the rudest hostess. What's the point of being in a list when she lets people who came late sit before those that have been waiting. Not worth the wait!
