Bishop Hill Colony Store

I hugely recommend coming here if you are heading through town. This cute Swedish shop has a lot of unique items like Glogg! They have local honey, Maple syrup w/ Cardimom, lots of different flavors of coffee beans, any area full of different types of candy, fudge, and truffles. They have wooden ornaments, mugs, and much more!

The Colony Store is a flashback of the past in the setup and it has a little bit of everything from lingonberry jam to candy to other Swedish goods and coffee. We make a special trip for the coffees twice a year. Bishop Hill is worth the drive.

A charming town with a Hallmark flare. The store had a strong Scandinavian influence with lots of decor items. Also a wonderful array of coffees, teas, chocolates, jams, and jellies. The staff were so friendly and fun to converse with.

Always friendly customer service there. So many different things to look at and to buy there. Tons of seasonal decor to buy. All kinds of candy to choose from by the pound and so much more.

Old fashion store for the nostalgic lovers of Swedish Viking merch, mugs, and decor paired with bar soaps from France, candles, grinded ground coffee, chocolates, and candies highly recommend 👈

Anywhere you shop or visit in Bishop Hill is a treat. My favorite day trip. Have been here at least once a year for several years. I love the history of this village. The Colony Store offers a variety of interesting items and an old style candy counter. The ladies who run the store are so sweet. Always a pleasant experience!

This is just the best place. It has all kinds of great things from Sweden, being that Bishop Hill is a Swedish settlement. It smells wonderful, they sell coffee beans. They will grind the beans for you or you can the beans home and grind yourself. They also have jars of candy to buy by the pound.
