Bishopp’s Chicken Biscuit Shop Opens Right Off Upper King - Eater Carolinas

"While the rest of the world is waiting in line for a Popeye’s chicken sandwich, Charlestonians can opt to try out the newest Southern-fried spot in town with the opening of Bishopp’s Chicken Biscuit. Sitting at 83 Mary Street, the new eatery offers a simple menu of biscuits with options to stack on fried chicken, crab cakes, fried pork tenderloins, and more. The signature sandwich is the Bish, which is bacon, egg, cheese, and a crispy chicken breast. There’s also fries, potato salad, and macaroni salad. The shop comes from entrepreneurs Scott and Crystal Bishopp. In February, Scott told Eater that the couple wanted to keep the menu affordable, stating “We will be very reasonably priced, in a town where dining out is typically very expensive and ‘a special treat’ for many.” Bishopp’s Chicken Biscuit opens daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Erin Perkins

Opening weekend and the food is already amazing...fabulous biscuits and chicken salad! Great service. They have a streamlined southern menu of chicken, biscuits, crab cakes, etc.at very affordable prices with good portions. It's largely a to-go restaurant with a bit of counter seating. This will definitely become one of our family's go-to spots for a quick breakfast or lunch in Charleston.

10/10. Came here twice on my Charleston Trip. The parmesan pepper chicken biscuit was unbelievable. The sausage was also delicious. I didn't try any platters but I would assume they are fantastic. Scott and the staff were super friendly. Do not skip out on this place

Stumbled on this great new place and could not have had a better experience. The food was excellent- comfort food at its best. Loved the counter concept and the energy of the owners! Great food and service all around. If you miss going to Bishopp’s, you may be a communist.

We came here after passing by on our way to Callie’s. We got sick of waiting in line so we went around the corner to Bishopps! Bishopps is WAY better than anything on Callie’s menu! The owner was very personable, she made sure we were happy with our orders! Everything is made fresh to order! I got a fried chicken biscuit and a scrambled egg biscuit on their garlic cheddar flavor of the day biscuit! My husband got a BISH and a fried oyster biscuit. Both of us were blown away by how good this place and their biscuits are! I am only disappointed that I live 4 hours away! We will be making this a new breakfast stop every time we come to town!!

I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. It’s everything you hope for when you think of a small southern restaurant. Everything is fresh, quantities are large and prices are very affordable. Staff very courteous and fun. Don’t miss this gem!!!

The biscuits and fried chicken are made in house and you can definitely tell. Biscuits so soft and scrumptious. Chicken so juicy and lightly breaded. Awesomeness! Friendly staff too.
