Worth the short drive: a three-level, independently owned spot with a true rooftop called The Landing. Frequently mentioned by CityBeat readers, it blends craft beer, bourbon, and live music with small-town river trail energy.

Very cool spot. First off, I'm big on service. Our server handled two large parties next to us and it never affected our service at all. Plus they have food runners which allow the server to focus on the tables. We had the fish and chips, great size, great breading. They are also bourbon enthusiasts. We had a Vanilla old fashioned, and my wife a TWO blackberry bourbon smashes. Just fantastic.

We really enjoyed this place. We tried several dishes. All were good. Service was great for a large party. They had music on the roof. I would definitely recommend this place.

Enjoying a good friends birthday with 14 buddies. Beautiful presentation of the meal and great service for the whole table. The noise isn't too bad and the portions are good without being too much.

There were four of us that came to listen to our friends play music on a Friday night. The hostesses couldn't have been more lovely explaining the wait, then getting us in for our table through the crowded bar area. Our server, Lilly, was friendly and on the ball throughout our dinner. For the table we order fish and chips, buffalo chicken sandwich, and the creole pasta. The fish had an great batter and the fries were also good. The creole pasta was very creamy and comforting, and the chicken sandwich was overcooked so the breading had a yucky taste and the chicken was very dry. However, they pour a mean drink, which I appreciate. This place is a solid restaurant with a fun atmosphere. In the summer it's even better with the decks and patios.

I recently had the pleasure of attending my high school reunion at Bishop's Quarter in Loveland, Ohio. The venue was absolutely perfect for our event. The space is large and airy, with plenty of room for our group to mingle and celebrate. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure that we had a great time. We were particularly impressed with the atmosphere at Bishop's Quarter. The space is beautifully decorated, with a warm and inviting feel. There is also a large outdoor patio that is perfect for enjoying a drink or a meal al fresco. Another big plus for Bishop's Quarter is its proximity to the Loveland Bike Trail. This is a great option for guests who want to get some exercise or explore the surrounding area. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Bishop's Quarter. The staff was awesome, the atmosphere was perfect, and the location was convenient. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a special event. Here are some specific things that I liked about Bishop's Quarter: * The staff was friendly and attentive. They were always willing to help us with anything we needed. * The food was delicious. We had the roasted chicken and the pasta dishes, and both were cooked perfectly. * The drinks were great. We tried the signature cocktails, and they were all very refreshing. * The atmosphere was perfect for our event. It was a large space, but it didn't feel too crowded. * The location was convenient. It was just a short walk from the Loveland Bike Trail. I would definitely recommend Bishop's Quarter to anyone planning a special event. It is a beautiful venue with excellent service and delicious food.

Google
Fantastic atmosphere, food was delicious. Would've received 5 stars but the portions were somewhat small. Had the Blackened Chicken fettuccine. The cocktails were amazing, we enjoyed a few Old Fashioned on this visit. Will definitely eat here again!

Google
A fantastic place to get an adult beverage, dine and meet friends. Top notch bourbon selection! On our latest visit, we came for the drinks and the Lobster Roll special. Drinks, as usual were great. The lobster roll tasted good, but looked nothing like the photos online. Instead of chunks of lobster meat, it was ground to an almost tuna like consistency. That was disappointing for $28. None the less, we will definitely be back, just won't be ordering the lobster roll again. Opt instead for the wings, fish and chips, blackened grouper, hushpuppies and onion rings. All great options!

My wife and I always enjoy Bishop's Quarter whenever we go. Fantastic date night for us, not a quiet place but a very fun place! We always go for the rooftop and typically there's an incredible band playing there! And the food is totally delicious!!

Yelp
Service and food were good. It is very busy on a Saturday night. It has a youthful vibe. It's very noisy when it's busy. We all enjoyed our food; the Creole Pasta, The deluxe bacon cheeseburger and New Orleans crabcake with blackened grouper. We were all happy with our choices. Parking is a headache here in Loveland but there is definitely a lot of fun dinner options in this strip.

Yelp
For the most part the food was good but the gumbo definately was lacking seasoning, it tasted more like chicken and rice. The blackened grouper and crab cake were delicous!

Yelp
The service was terrible! We ate our meals without being offered a refill from our appetizers. It took us 20 minutes to get our bill. They had live "music" but unfortunately the guy only knew how to yell, not sing so it was quite disturbing. We will not be back!

Yelp
We truly enjoy this place. However, this visit was disappointing. The jambalaya was terrific as usual. But I ordered the filet medallions. There is no way the cut of beef I received was a filet. It was fatty, grisly and overall, a poor cut of beef. It was drowning in brown gravy, though tasty, that I'm sure was to cover the poor cut of beef. We'll go back but I know to order something else next time.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday for a private event. Was a little hard to find parking nearby during peak time (12 PM). Tried a lavender martini off the menu which was very flavorful and then switched to classic martini which was also very tasty. For food they had brussel sprouts, salad, chicken pasta and pretzel bites. The food was good and had a lot of flavor. The downfall was the plates, as ALL of them were dirty. There was a stack of almost 100 plates and every single one was not clean. Hopefully this was a slip up before a big event, but no way to tell

Yelp
This is our new go-to spot since we moved to Loveland. The atmosphere is great. They have live music often, a rooftop terrace, and great food. I'm a huge fan of the blackened grouper. My wife loves the French onion soup and the buffalo chicken wrap. They also have a solid beer and spirits lineup.

Yelp
Great meal! I ordered the fried fish with fries entree and the beignets. Both were perfect! So good! It was a to-go order, the hostess was friendly and professional.

Yelp
We stopped in on a cold afternoon for lunch with another couple. The bourbon menu is extensive. Even though it was lunch, I ordered a Woodford Reserve Wheat on the rocks. The first thing to note is it is served with a single square ice cube. I ordered the fish and chips which was outstanding! We introduced our friends to fried cheese curds which was an instant hit. The other noteworthy fish was a sea bass on salad entree. The ladies both loved the sea bass. My friend ordered a wrap and was thrilled. All in all, the experience was wonderful and the Woodford warmed me up. We will definitely go back. If you are a bourbon fan, you need to check this place out, enjoy.

Yelp
We went here for trivia. The trivia company was awesome so I'm glad Bishop's has them. Wait staff were wonderful. It's a tavern type place so it was loud like you'd expect and the food was okay. I couldn't really finish it because it was too oily.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, a fun place. When it's nice out rooftop is the place to be. Relax and enjoy the view. Exciting venue for Bengals away game. See you there soon.

Yelp
Well the food was delicious and the staff was spectacular!! The drinks are amazing and the ambience was great! This is easily a 4/5 stars!

Yelp
Some friends were showing us around Loveland and suggested this place for dinner, so we gave it a shot. We were seated in a great spot on the 2nd floor balcony - it had an awesome New Orleans vibe. Our server (Christa?) was super friendly and attentive. I started with the French Onion Soup and it was quite good. For my entree, I had the crab cakes and I enjoyed them...great flavor and consistency. We finished our meal with the beignets, which were a wonderful treat!

Yelp
Went for drinks after brunch. I had two oyster shooters and the first one was very clean. I received the second one and it was really dirty and tasted horrible. I had to spit it out in my napkin. I got home and threw up. Will never order from there again.

Yelp
It's been awhile but I love this place! Great view of downtown Loveland. Rooftop bar & great food. Also right on the bike trail!

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Loveland! The food is great and the ambiance of the place. Never had an issue with the service, make a reservation beforehand.

Emily P.

Yelp
Aesthetically, this place hits all the marks. Gas lamps outside, wood bar inside. Extensive (overpriced) bourbon list. We asked the server how big the bourbon pours were. She initially said 1oz. We were surprised given some of the pricing and said we would order if the pours were at least 1.5oz. She proceeded to check 3 times with different people and flip flopped each time between pour sizes. Turns out it is 1.5oz, confirmed after we had finished our meal and were cashing out. Server and 3 others stood behind the bar chatting for most of our meal. Mixed drink was never served, water was never refilled, server never checked in on food (which was delivered by a food runner). Food is "not terrible" largely because the frozen tater tots were cooked well. Skip the grouper tacos. Grouper was well seasoned, but on flour tortillas with a small smear of (flavorful) avocado, it turned into a gummy mess. For $16 you can get better tacos at the food truck next door.

Yelp
Bishops Quarter is a New Orleans inspired restaurant in downtown Loveland. We recently went for a friend's rehearsal dinner and loved it! It definitely reminded me of the trips I've taken down to NOLA and the walks to Cafe Du Monde for coffee & beignets. Here's what we had: Fried Brussel Sprouts with Remolade Soft Pretzels and Beer Cheese Bruschetta Cajun Chicken Pasta Gumbo Hazelnut Beignets Cheesecake Bites Everything was so, so good! Sprouts are one of my favorite foods and these had great flavor with an excellent sauce, and the gumbo was quality (it also had shrimp in it which was not listed in the menu). I would definitely return here to try other items on the menu. I also thought the pretzels and beer cheese were bomb.

Del S.

Yelp
I had the tour of New Orleans. It was absolutely delicious. Fish was cooked perfect. They also have quite a selection of bourbon. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
Always a good time. Love the bar area and the fun bartenders. Can't go wrong if there's a dj!

Yelp
They were packed on a holiday weekday. But still hustled and were polite. Great spicy margarita and cheeseburger! Fries were excellent. Will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I went on a busy Friday night. Service was friendly, but slow. The gumbo and fish and chips were great. The jambalaya was too salty and a bigger serving of rice could have offset the saltiness.
google avatar

Yelp
Bishops quarter is the spot to be when in loveland. This 3 story building has a bar on every level. Some of the best bourbon is on the shelf here. Everything about the place gives me Louisiana bourbon street feel and overall has great vibes. The food there is so die for and the service is quick. Our serve was super nice and helpful when looking for the right beer to taste. I got the pomegranate mule and it was delicious! I would go back again in a heartbeat. Great place for parties or big gatherings.

Yelp
Great service! Great music! I Ordered too much! My husband got the French onion soup and the shrimp poo boy sandwich with a Tom Collins to drink - he loved the food and drink. Not a drop was left in the bowl or on the plate! My son got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries - he said the chicken was grilled perfectly. And again not a drop was left. I got the Brussel sprouts appetizer with the vegetarian poo boy sandwich. LOVED the Brussel sprouts and not a drop was left. I ended yup taking half my sandwich home and the sweet potato fries (yum yum) went home with my son. Go! I got the espresso martini to drink - reminded me of a chocolate martini - dessert with lunch - yum again!!

Yelp
Food was great! Service was equal parts entertaining and helpful! We had a rough crowd.

Yelp
We had a great experience at Bishops Quarter. We came in on a Sunday afternoon around 4 pm, and we were seated immediately. It is more of a casual atmosphere that is slightly more upscale than your average pub. We chose to sit outside on the couches, and it is a super cool area that I definitely recommend! We ordered the pretzels, calamari, and the Salmon Spring Salad (with chicken instead of salmon). The pretzels were absolutely delicious, as was the beer cheese dip it was served with. Additionally, the fried calamari was amazing. Lastly, I really enjoyed my salad as it was very fresh. Our waitress, Lori, was extremely helpful and very kind. I would recommend stopping by Bishops for some good food and a great atmosphere!

Yelp
Great spot!!!! We went as a family for the first time this past Friday and couldn't have been more pleased. Great location and everyone working was very friendly. The menu is not huge and they do everything well! The beer selection is nice as well. Prices are fair, especially considering the quality of food and service!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good. Great drink options. This is 100% a bourbon lovers hot spot. The ambience was really great and makes for a nice date night or night out with friends. The only reason it's not 5/5 stars is our food was good but not great, for the price.

Jane E.

Yelp
Wish we knew about this restaurant, sooner. Just delicious All the seafood was fresh & seasoned perfectly. Our server Jess, was awesome

Yelp
I came here for happy hour and stayed for the food! The drinks were absolutely delicious and well crafted. The service was amazing at the bar and I have no complaints. They started live music at about 7 and it was the icing on the cake. Will definitely have to come back.

Yelp
I've been here twice - once for a private party in the afternoon on the second floor. There was catered food and drinks. The Cajun chicken pasta was fantastic and the two mixed drinks I had were great. The second time was this past weekend after 8pm, we went to the top floor, found a spot inside and enjoyed an appetizer and drink. The doors were open so we were able to enjoy the band that was performing just outside as well. The appetizer was pretzels and beer cheese which were amazing - the pretzels were soft and cheese was tasty. Food runners are bringing the food up 3 flights of stairs! We could have easily stayed longer but planned to hop around a bit. The atmosphere is quite nice and I'd recommend this for a meal or to relax and enjoy the entertainment.

Donna W.

Yelp
Good, not great, oysters were good but had shells in them. Burton night was great. Server was good, no complaints here.

Yelp
Have never had a bad meal here. The food is always great and the drinks are always strong. Love the atmosphere. Crab cakes are killer with little filler

Yelp
Dry rub chicken wings were amazing. Get the dipping sauces on the side. The dummies used to be a little bigger so I'm not sure what happened.

Yelp
Went here with my husband, sister, and brother in law for dinner. We sat at a table on the 3rd floor. Our waitress started out ok got our drinks in and ordered food. Each couple got one appetizer and a meal to split as we had ate a few hours prior so we weren't terribly hungry. Food came out all together, we had subbed the fries for Brussel sprouts but the order ended up being wrong and we had to wait a bit for the server to come over to get the correction. My brother in law waited 10+ mins for ketchup my husband ended up grabbing it from another table that had just left. Waitress never checked to see if we needed refills my husband had to take all 4 drinks up to the bar as he approached the waitress was taking a shot. He came back to the table we waited an additional 5 mins for her to come back with our drinks after he took them up. After we finished our meals (needing another refill - decided to call it quits on getting checked on) we asked for our bill she came back with the bills ($40 per couple) we waited 20 more mins trying to cash out so we could leave she never came over. Husband had to take the bill up to the bar where he finds our waitress grinding on a guy dancing to music taking a shot. At this point we were so over the bad service we both decided not to tip as my husband was basically our server the entire meal this has never happened to where we do not tip a waitress. As we left and walked to the elevator she came out and yelled "I appreciate that!" Very sarcastic and rudely. My husband went back in asked very nicely "excuse me what did you say? She said " I said I appreciate that" he said I'm sorry, but the service you provided was awful. Another guy jumped in between him and her like my husband was doing something wrong and that guy ended up telling my husband that he was sorry about it and he was good. We left and went downstairs where my husband asked to speak to a manager. The manager lady came over and acted like it was no big deal and told him that it looked like a heated conversation upstairs and Tahj had to step in my husband said no it wasn't heated at all I just asked her what the problem was and she didn't like it she came at us. If she would have done her job we would have tipped. She should have taken accountability and saw she did a terrible job especially when we were her ONLY table she had to tend to! She was to busy dancing and taking shots. The manager said that the owners don't mind that they have just a little shot that's there policy. It's an awful policy when your waitresses are to busy getting turnt up and not doing there job they get paid to do. If you want crappy service and an alright scenery I'd suggest it. Not to mention we had to yell across the table to hear anything the other couple were saying. Very disappointed. I do however commend The Wicked Pickle, Ramseys, and the Taphouse! Excellent service at those places!

David L.

Yelp
Service was great this month!! Crab cakes are better now compared to when the place opened. Salads are delicious. Gorgeous view on the third floor terrace and Billy Rock. Band made for a wonderful experience. The beer cheese tasted amazing with their pretzels. I'd give 5 stars. But they were out of oysters.
google avatar

Yelp
I have a friend who works here so I wanted to stop by one time when she was working. That said I had a biased experience in terms of my server. However other staff checked in on our table as well, it may have looked a little chaotic, but they knew what they were doing and kept tabs on everything! I ordered the jumbalaya because honestly it sounded really good and you can't order that just anywhere. This was my second time eating shrimp and I can confidently say I'm a fan of shrimp now. The jumbalaya altogether was delicious. Friends said that their drinks were great! I enjoyed the atmosphere and it seems like they frequently have live music and events. Apparently they're doing a watch party for the Survivor finale next week! Took a picture of the food, but sadly it was blurry and didn't notice until later : (

Yelp
Great experience! The best bourbon selection in the city. Couldn't believe they had Pappy by the individual serving.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go for a pre-dinner drink and hors d'oeuvre. Unfortunately their dinner menu remains below expectations for us but give it a try. Wonderful roof top bar in the summer and a large restaurant with plenty of room, almost never busy.

Tyler F.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic dinner! First time here and we will definitely be back. The drinks were great. I got the Tour of New Orleans. Absolutely delicious. Prompt service and an overall great experience.

Yelp
Love the floor options. You can choose if you want party central...pub or romantic. Food is good and offers a wide selection. Service is debatable. Had good luck and bad luck on different occasions.

Yelp
UPDATED June 1, 2019 -changing it from 4 stars to 3 stars- I return to Bishops Quarter on a Sunday afternoon for their five dollar burger. It was around 7 o'clock in the evening on a Sunday, and Loveland was packed. There were no clear tables, and we had to go find someone to ask to clean a table for us to sit down at outside. The people sitting next to us declared they had been there 15 minutes before someone had even offered them a menu or a drink. We ended up sitting down at a dirty table and were finally waited upon. We were helped by three different people--All running around very frantic. One person did not realize why we did not have silverware and drinks, etc. and tried to help us. Our order came out, and we were missing a few items, but it was eventually taken care of. They did comp one of our items on our check without us asking, as they knew the whole dining experience was a hot mess. We did finally ask our sweet server what the problem was, as she seemed so overworked. We were told that they had not anticipated such a big crowd on a Sunday. Note to the manager, after living in Loveland for years, every day it is nice outside, any restaurant with outside seating will be packed. The bike trail brings so many customers in on a nice summer day, so please staff your restaurant accordingly. I felt bad for our server, as everyone around us was also frustrated. It was not fair to her, as I am sure that she was shorted tips throughout the evening because she was taking care of so many tables. She was not able to focus in on one specific section due to her running back and forth. She held her own--I'm sure it was a rough night for her. Would love to try it again sometime when I know I will be waited upon. _____________ Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, this three-story restaurant and bar is new to the quaint town of Loveland! Located on the corner as you enter downtown Loveland, it is a beautiful old building renovated on all three stories. There is plenty of outdoor seating around the building on the first level, as well as on the second and third stories. The third floor has an open rooftop bar complete with patio lights. It's a historic building, and they did a great job renovating it while keeping the flare of the original building. They do have drink and/or food specials each night of the week. My favorite deal is on Sundays! You can get their gourmet cheeseburger for five dollars and a side of fries for $2.50. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I do not believe they serve cheeseburgers during the week... they are only available on Sundays. You can't beat a cheeseburger and fries for $7.50! Those fries are delicious! So salty and perfect with a burger. They are known for their seafood dishes, as well as they're expansive list of alcohol choices. Since I don't drink, I would come here to eat some appetizers or get the deal on Sundays. They have plenty a room to sit outside and enjoy a beverage or a side dish. To be honest, I would classify them more as being a bar with a few options for food, but they have a larger selection of drinks than they do for food. They mainly just have light bites. Just keep that in mind if you come here with a full appetite. I'm glad they have made their home here in Loveland! They are a great addition to our historic store fronts. They are right near the bike trail, so it would be easy to grab a drink or an appetizer there before heading to dinner across the street.

F S.

Yelp
Went here with a small group on a weeknight. Food was pretty good overall, service was decent. Had a cocktail though and it was terrible, ughh should have sent it back, drank like 1/8th of it. So not a bad place but the crummy drink tainted the experience. Not in a hurry to return. I would give 2.5 stars, if possible, but 3 is pushing it.
google avatar

Yelp
AMAZING dinner. I almost got the Cajun pasta but my friend inquired about the fish special that rotates and was not disappointed even though my friends did get the pasta and did also greatly enjoy it. The mahi mahi was perfectly cook to be just tender and the Avocado and salsa really mixed well with it, and the asparagus tasted straight from a garden so fresh and perfectly cooked to not be limp but not wooden. The live music was charming and a great addition to the atmosphere and the service, though they were extremely busy, was still exceptional. Shout out to our waiter Noah! I adore coming to this place every time I am in town and cannot wait for my next meal!

Yelp
We came to celebrate my partners 27th birthday on a Friday night. We got there around 6:30 and it was decently full, we're able to walk to and get drinks on the second level which was very chill. Third level was a bit more boisterous as there was live music (Paisley Cane!). The first floor is the floor with the most restaurant like atmosphere. We loved the food and the waitress was fantastic. We had an incident where my partner and I were worried about my MIL as there was a creepy man at the bar, we called the bar and the manager handled it swiftly and discreetly which we GREATLY appreciated. Wel will 1,000 percent be back, and feel SAFE!

Yelp
First off, Bishops Quarter is a very cool restaurant. We chose to walk up the two flights of stairs and eat upstairs on the rooftop. So glad we did. Great night, great food and our waiter - Alex, was absolutely adorable. The food was delicious and he made our evening extra fun. Oh and also, Thursdays is half-price wine. Great deal. Very happy and so glad we tried it out. Look forward to stopping back again sometime soon!
google avatar

Cathy O.

Yelp
I ordered the short ribs and they were not short ribs. It was fairly tough, thin sliced roast beef with very thin, tasteless mashed potatoes and all items ordered were barely warm. The apps and sandwiches seemed fine but could have been served hot so I would stick with the bar food items and not ware the money on their "better dining" options. The restaurant was not crowded (we arrived about 5:45 on Saturday 4/30) and even when we left, no one was waiting for a table. There was a private function on the 2nd level and our party of 4 was on the third level. None of us complained, sent food back or tipped less for cold food and a training waitress that worked alone.

Sheila B.

Yelp
Food was very good, service average. We had reservations for dinner and seated on the first level. It was already loud so difficult to talk among the 4 of us. Then a band started at 8pm and it was impossible to talk and kind of spoiled the evening.

Yelp
Where's all the food? My hubby and I wanted to try something different. As big foodies, we dine out a lot and thought we'd give this place a try. I had the flatbread pizza with cheddar grits. (*Unfortunately I'm told the flat bread is no longer an option on their menu, it was delicious I hope they bring it back). They were both delicious but I wanted more! The atmosphere is amazing. The building is very nice and clean. There food presentation was awesome! My friend had shrimp cocktail and fries. My hubby had a burger and fries. I did take a bite before taking the pic, I couldn't wait to try it it smelled and tasted as good as it looked! I've recently been informed they no longer charge for parking and have more items on their menu. I am looking forward to trying this place again really soon. The bad: The portions were small. This is a bar, not a place for a meal. The menu only has a few options. Even before the coronavirus hit, it was one page. It was also very hot inside. I would like to go back maybe on a girls night out when we have lighter appetites and plan to drink mostly. *please note this is a late entry review, we actually dined there on Sat 8/17/19).
