Bismillah Biryani @ NUS

Ok I’m reviewing for the NTU branch as they do not have the landmark there yet. But I would say food wise, it would taste the same as my curry was literally served in a plastic container like they have prepacked it and they just microwaved and gave it to me. Taste wise, not anything special at all? Just taste a bit richer than the prata curry but not sure if it’s worth the price. They gave free naan but it’s like a piece of bread u get from the bakery. Briyani wise, 90% rice. 5% meat, 2% egg, 3% bones. I don’t know how and why is this store Michelin star. Just go n support your local Muslim-Indian store instead for better and cheaper options.

Been ordering Bismillah Biryani for 6 years, and the one constant is “inconsistency”. While the biryani is sometimes delicious, it’s often paired with missing items, stale food, or, like today, a regular chicken biryani with only one small piece of chicken for $15.50. Three years ago, portions were generous with a drumstick and a thigh—now you’re lucky to get one decent piece. Please improve quality control and packing for deliveries. Good potential, but consistency is a serious issue and I’ve seen a lot of restaurant delivery businesses fail over the years….and this one will be next if things don’t change!! Don’t take your success for granted…

We were excited to try this Michelin guide Indian restaurant, but it fell short of expectations. We got the mutton biryani and palak gosht. The biryani wasn't very hot, and the naan wasn't as good as typical naans. Both dishes were delicious otherwise. The kulfi tasted good, but was tiny. My friend said it was the smallest he's had. Overall, disappointing and a bit on the pricier side, so I wouldn't go again.

This is my review for the NTU location since Google doesn’t seem to have this branch up yet. I ordered a young mutton briyani and for $1.80 added egg and potato. Upon opening the container there was only a miserable-looking half a potato and the egg was missing. Although it was called ‘young mutton’ the meat was tough and dry and didn’t taste fresh. The raiti was unimpressive too, tasteless and watery. The mango lassi tasted like sugar and mango flavouring - it was so bad I threw it away after a few sips. Don’t know how this could be Michelin. Will not patronise again.

Had the Michelin $20 Lamb Shank, too bad the shank was covered in rice so the photo doesn’t do it justice. But the taste was good. Unlike the usual mutton Briyani curry, came with rita (yogurt-like sauce) which help to cut through some of the spices and reduce gelat-ness. Wish it came with a side of some vegetables at this price range, overall 7/10.

Ordered the chicken dum biryani and it was very light yet flavourful. Would definitely come back again!

Great and calm environment to dine! Food smells and looks great. Will come back to try more food!

It was my first time eating here and I love their Chicken Dum Biryani and Mango Lassi 💯 Would definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu!
