Best Neighborhood Markets and Local Grocery Stores in Atlanta For Grocery Shopping | Eater Atlanta

"This market on Buford Highway sells groceries and pantry essentials, halal meats, and produce. Located next door, the cafe serves a menu of Bangladeshi food, including samosas, biriyani plates, curries, and chatpati and fuchka soup. There’s even hot wings, gyros, and cheeseburgers and fries on the menu here." - Eater Staff

Picked up my beef curry and lamb gyro and chicken shawarma combo. I had to fight my gf off from taking more than her bite. The beef was tender and flavourful. The shawarma rice is addicting. They even let me sample the mutton and now I have to come back! Truly 10/10 and also GREAT PRICES

I tried the Shawarma Biryani from Bismillah Supermarket in Atlanta. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it much. The dish was overly red, likely due to excessive food coloring, which took away from the appeal. The taste was just average and could be improved.

As a Muslim, I prefer Halal meat and stuff..And ever since we moved to USA (Atlanta), this is the place we buy our groceries such as rice, meat, Indian spices etc.. Friendly staff..always welcome you with a smile. Unfortunately I dont have much pictures to share..but i would recommend this place. A lot of selection. But the shop can be a bit organized. The smell of the raw meat cutting section is a turn-off for me. But still I go there to see my luck, if I like something. Who knows. Their samusa and singara give me the roadside taste of Bangladesh..what else you can expect here in georgia . Sending love.

I came to this place by accident and I feel like I was tricked. I was trying to go to Bismillah Cafe but the directions led me here. They had the same menu that was labeled as Bismillah Cafe. I saw my intended venue was across the street with a different address. I already placed my order and I didn't want to hurt small business by canceling my order while they were cooking it. Place looks extremely disorganized. They had food on the customer side and not covered but there were no bugs so I guess it is ok. I ordered 5 hot wings, 1 meat samosa, and the Chicken and Lamb Shwarma biriyani. The wings are decently priced and are not bad. The meat samosa was pretty good. I really liked it. The Chicken and Lamb Shwarma tasted fine but it has a greasy car mechanic after taste. I will not return but I wish them the best.

Great cuts of tasty meat and groceries not ordinarily found in regular supermarkets. However there’s need to improve on the hygiene, order on the shelves and the easiness with which to find what one is looking for.

Yelp
Got a beef and pork shwarma biryani plate which included a small salad. As someone who's not usually a fan of biryani plates, I did enjoy how thoroughly seasoned all the very red rice was. It was made even better with the green sauce served on the side. As for the chicken samosas, they were very dry but also almost cold by the time I got to eat them. Since this was all takeout, I can't attest for their service or ambiance but the food was good enough for me to check them out again!

Yelp
Tried ordering from the restaurant but my call went to here, I'm not sure if there's a relationship or not. They were generous with portions but the food here left my girlfriend not feeling well.

Yelp
Good thing: Carry lots of Bangladeshi products. Bad thing: The shop smells weird!

Yelp
Great food. And affordable. Haven't had goat that tastes as delicious in a long time. Sambusas are phenomenal

Yelp
This is a Bangladesh market on the right side and a teeny tiny Bangladesh restaurant on the left. I have to admit that thought twice about submitting this review. I would love everyone to support this place that I visit regularly, but this place is not where you should head unless it is the right place for you. If you are from Southeast asia, or if you have an adventurous spirit, then you are definitely the right sort of person for this place. It should not be the first place you head to when your most adventurous dining to date has been the tex-mex plate at Applebee's. So, here goes. First the market. It is not neat and orderly. It helps to have in mind what you are looking for before you come. I gave this place 4 stars for starters simply because they carry the best quality palm oil in greater Atlanta and maybe beyond. They also have very fresh frozen potato leaves and jute leaves. I buy almost all my beef and goat meat here. When you walk in to the store, you turn left thru the produce, there's a little fridge with fresh southeast Asian desserts. Just past that is a little hallway with a tilapia tank where u can stick your head in and talk to the butcher. They have prices listed on the wall. You tell him what you want and he goes in the cooler and comes out with a big leg or whatever you asked for and cuts it up to the size you request. This place is not fancy or shiny new but they have what I need and the quality has always been very good. Next the restaurant - very flavorful food, big portions, friendly workers, and low cost. Even though at first glance it looks pretty dumpy, I've never seen a cleaner grill and every piece of equipment appeared immaculately clean. We get whole cut up chickens ( i think it is called vindaloo style) and schwarma from here all the time, for something like $5.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!! It's small but the food is amazing! Try the goat biryani and chicken biryani. My fav is the goat biryani!

Yelp
The place needs to be organized. I have seen a lot good places on Buford Hway and Chamblee Tucker.
