"Exposed brick and pipework give this two-roomed brasserie a rustic, slightly retro feel that chimes perfectly with its buoyant atmosphere. It’s a deservedly busy place, named after actress Brigitte Bardot and taking a similarly French outlook on culinary matters too. The extensive à la carte offers all manner of classic brasserie staples, from steak au poivre to tarte Tatin, while the 'menu du jour' provides a simpler, good value selection. The wine list has some appealing French favourites and the friendly team serve the large numbers with ease." - Michelin Inspector

2 Days In Helsinki

"A five-minute walk back to the northern perimeter of Esplanadi will take you to Michelin-recommended Bardot, a rustic French bistro which is the perfect spot for lunch. Taking its name from French actress Brigitte Bardot, their ‘menu du jour’ offers a simple, yet sophisticated take on French bistro classics." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

Visited Bardot with my son and friends on a beautiful Saturday evening this Summer! Excellent food, superb location, friendly and knowledgeable staff with lots of wine! Wine selection is excellent and you can also ask to get pairing suggestions for your food. This is not the cheapest but guaranteed quality food in the heart of Helsinki.

Upon arrival, we waited for about an hour before we were able to order drinks. Soon after, we found out that the dishes we had planned to order were not available. The main course we did receive was so overly salted that it was impossible to eat (I usually enjoy quite salty food, but even for me, it was too much). My companion left their main course uneaten. We were disappointed with the food, and the service was also slow.

I always love coming back here no matter how many times I visit, it never gets old. This time, we went for the 3 course lunch menu, and as always, it completely satisfied me in every way. From the presentation to the flavors, every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and full of character. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed, quality meal. It’s one of those rare spots that consistently delivers an experience that keeps you wanting to return again and again.

Delicious food. One of the best tartare I've had. Great atmosphere and the service by Ricardo was top quality. Highly recommend

If you like French kitchen you should consider visiting this restaurant. I had a brunch (last year) and a dinner here (last week). The restaurant had good French dishes and the appearance of the dishes is attractive. They agreed to modify the dish to my taste (sauce on side in salad) and they actually brought even the chicken sauce separately, in which I was very pleased.

Bardot fully deserves its Michelin 2024 status. The setting is charming, calm, and in easy walking distance to the piers and main sightseeing areas. Our meal here highlighted the local fish, but the profiteroles with comte stole the show. We enjoyed the dishes and the excellent service throughout, and we would eagerly return when in Helsinki again.

-The side salad to my surprise was the most tasty dish beyond expectations. Recommend the grilled octopus, side salad, lobster linguine and the sparkling wine. - Foie gras was not good, and the wasabi didn’t match well with the taste. It lost the balance of the dish and it was super dry.. the snails were tiny compared to the ones we had in Paris. - Service was a bit slow. We arrived for some time and no one was offering water or menu. They were chatting in the back. It could be improved.

Reservations are required for this place as it seems that this place does draw a crowd for the food and ambience. Once I step into the main door, you are greeted by the kitchen right in front of you. The menu is extensive, with more than 10 starters and even more entrees and classics. Since my visit was early, I couldn’t savour the majority of the menu but the escargot and grilled octopus was pretty good. The risotto and linguine alla vongole tasted good, however leaned on the salty spectrum. I did love the apple pie which came in a light pastry and burnt caramelised apples which had this bitter aftertaste that went really well with the caramel and ice cream. Overall a good dining experience.
