First time and definitely not the last! I can’t believe Grace Bistro has been open 10 years and I just discovered it. Great wine list at reasonable prices, delicious calamari and Caesar salad, and the spicy margaritas were on point. The sea bass special was bursting with flavor, and the banana cheesecake? Just wow. A gem in the West Island! My only complaint is the AC - it was hot.

Cozy restaurant with relaxed vibes. It's not too loud or crowded. It's a soothing atmosphere. Dim lighting that sets a mood. Great option for a date night! They have a diverse wine list. The service was great! From our waitress to the timing of the food coming out, as well as ensuring our water glasses were always filled. The team was on point. The bread service was delicious. The bread was fresh out of the oven with coarse salt flakes on top. The garlic butter was delightful. The honey butter was not my preference, but my partner liked it. The olives were tasty, but the green ones were on the bitter side. We both order the rib eye steak with fries. Their homemade fries were beautifully done. Perfect amount of seasoning, and I love when fries have a little bend to them like these ones did. The rib eye steak was a little underwhelming. I asked for not too much pepper. It was cooked properly. It was charred nicely, but I found it lacked seasoning and overall flavor. It didn't have pepper or anything, really. It was disappointing when you ordered a high-end item on the menu and expected a quality that wasn't delivered. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience,

Review from someone that just loves food in general from fast food to fine dining. Rating is based on the lowest score. Service: Top service, food arrived fast, new plates in between, checked in on regularly. No issues at all. Atmosphere, simple dim light open room concept. Sound travels so it was a bit difficult to hear my table. Open kitchen so I think kitchen seats might be interesting. Food: Interesting menu items. Had taken several appetizers and a steak. What's interesting when you have menus without images is your expectations and I think everything was on par visually. Calamari was as expected, portion size and both tentacles and rings. Crispy and not chewy. Horseradish sauce (which I make and prefer) plus other sauce was nice to have. 8.5/10 I would prefer to have again. (Example of bad calamari is Lucille's 18$/8pcs). In general calamari should be under $20 and few good places have them in $16-18 range. Mushroom Tartine: Extremely above expectations. Flavour was just something different. Definetly a dish I would want to recreate myself and was the highlight at the Bistro. 10/10 Oysters: Oysters are Oysters. Choice of Lemon, Tabasco, Mignonette (a bit under on flavour) and that Horseradish tomato again. I typically just go for Oysters on Oyster days, or shuck a box myself. Salmon tartare: I love salmon and beef tartare (and when presented table side) but this one just didn't have any burst of flavour, it didn't give my taste buds a new experience. 7/10 Basically decided from my last 2 experiences that I'll just stick to my own home made tartare. If you are ordering a Salmom tartare for the first time, this dish would be a safe introductory to get over "raw" fish. Beets salad: To me, it was just a beets salad. I enjoy beets already so nothing new of a flavour profile came out on this dish. 7/10 Sirloin Steak frites MR: Had expectations since their mains are fairly beef related. For nearly $50 it isn't changing anyone's steak expectations at all. There are quite a few steak places to be had in the sub $40 as a complete. Fries also under whelming. That malt vinegar mayo, noooo. Overall the place is a nice little bistro. Annually for the past 4-5 years we go to the same restaurant for their tasting menu and wine pairing but this time I wanted something different this time hoping Bistro Grace can bring in something different. Come to think of it, there was a reason we kept going back to our same resto because expectations matched and I guess we will see them next year.

Google
What a gem of a restaurant. We made a reservation for my stepdaughter’s birthday and boy did Bistro Grace not disappoint. The food was amazing (we chose salads, the Grace burger and beef tartare) and the banana cheesecake. Their fries were the absolute best that we’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable. 2 huge thumbs up. We will definitely go back. :)

Google
Really cool restaurant, the kind you would easily think you’d find downtown so it’s nice to have in the West Island. The weekly menu idea is very cool and very good reason to keep going back. The food is top tier you really are getting the most bang for your buck. We tried the soup of the week very tasty and good portion size the flavours complemented each other. Oysters were impeccable. Tried the burger and must be the best burger in the west no contest came with fries that were very crispy! Tried the pasta of the week and it was perfect honestly no complaints. The ambience is very cozy perfect place for a date night. Only con I could say is the service was a big on the slow side but the servers were super nice so it made up for it.

Google
Bistro Grace is a wonderful gem in the West Island for fine dining. The food is exceptional — every dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The service is impeccable, with staff who are attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming. It’s the perfect spot for a special night out or a memorable meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Absolute hidden gem in the West Island. The food is delicious and the service is amazing!!! Salmon tartar was super fresh and tasty, my boyfriend said the steak was one of the best he's ever had, and their mac'n'cheese is so rich and creamy.

Yelp
Very strange experience. We were two couples ( although we would have like to be 3 couples but no reservations for 6 people - despite empty tables) we ordered drinks and every appetizer on the menu, plus 2 servings of oysters and a bottle of wine. We were told that mains and apps had to be ordered at the same time. Waiter double checked with the chef and said that they would make an exception and we could order our mains after apps. When we went to order our mains, waiter said chef changed his mind??? so we were not allowed to order more food - but would have really like to. Waiter was apologetic but clearly scared of chef/owner. So we paid our 320$ bill and left, we ordered a pizza and had more drinks at home. Strangest restaurant experience of my foodie life.

Yelp
Nice menu, pretty good food. Some issues though. I hesitated between giving this restaurant 3 or 4 stars. Ultimately I chose 4 because the food was good and I'm a sucker for the whole chef being the owner thing. Plus the fact that the resto is named for his daughter is super cute. I came here to celebrate my mom's birthday with 12 other people. We had the restaurant almost to ourselves. I think our large group was part of the problem. It is a small space, with an open kitchen and only two people cooking. I feel like the experience would have been better if I came here on a date or with a friend or two. We started the meal with an appetizer on the chalkboard on the wall (not on their regular menu). It was fried scallops, shrimp, calamari served with a spicy aioli. Though tasty, the small portion was not worth $18... We ordered a bunch of dishes: Steak frites, Sirloin, Shrimp, Salmon, Hamburger. Each meal came with either a large portion of fries or seasonal vegetables. I shared the burger and steak frites and both were really well flavoured. The steak was a bit underdone but they took it back and brought it back cooked properly. The veggies and fries were really great. The issue was that some of the dishes came out early, and then some really late. For example, my dad just got the fries of his steak while my uncle just got the steak. It was a bit irritating as we all would have liked to eat together. The kids meals were served with the appetizers so they awkwardly finished their meals before any of us got ours They have a great kids menu so that is a major plus for families. 10$ for a meal with fries or veggies, a drink and a dessert. Great value and my little cousins seemed to like their meals. We had the banana cream cheesecake which was excellent. They charged for it even though it was for a birthday but I was told in advance that they don't do anything for birthdays so not a huge deal. Overall, nice find deep in the west island. A bit expensive but good quality food and unique menu items. Not ideal for groups but I will likely visit again.

Yelp
HANDS DOWN the best restaurant in the West Island. Not overpriced like some of the other good ones. Beautiful decor & nice staff. Plates are very tasty and the plating is beautifully done. This is downtown grade. Went there on a Wed and the place was packed. Definitely need a reservation. Only negative is the location which is not central.... enjoy!!!!

Yelp
Loved the decor and vibe of this hidden gem in the west island. For starters, we had the Salmon Tartare and The Charred Octopus. Both were delicious! The combination of flavours of the grilled squid plate was out of this world! Followed with a very tasty hamburger and delicious fries. My daughter had the Caesar Salad which she just loved. For dessert, we shared the Meyer Lemon Tarte which was outstanding! The portions are generous and the service was impeccable! They also serve a daily cocktail! I will be back for sure!

Yelp
This is hands-down the best restaurant I have eaten at in the west-island. A real gem. I personally have food intolerances and they always go out of their way to prepare me something delicious. The food is always fresh and they have an à la carte menu that changes on a weekly basis (I suggest this on your first visit, their creations are amazing). I would highly reccommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates delicious food and great service.

Yelp
WOW, this place is beautiful! And right in the middle of no where lol We had already eaten at a nother place, but didn't want to try desert there, so we went here, and this is deffenetly somewhere I'd like to return for a full meal. We skipped the written full menu to go straight to desert, as we waited (a little long) for our orders, we noticed the chalk board writting behind our table, and it was full of very interesting specials, like oysters and other things. Some of them didn't seem expensive, and other things seemed really expensive but yet had value to it since they weren't simple. I saw them bringing dinners to other tables, and man, it smelled so good xp I totally regret not having dinner here instead xp Chocolate Pot de Creme 8$ not what I'd call delicious. It tasted more like a chocolate genash icing, thickish pudding, that wasn't too sweet. I didn't like how there was very little contrast of textures. Only the genash, a few crunchy bits on top, and a little scoop of whipped cream. Don't taste the expresso at all. This desert would had been amazing if they had put a layer of caramalized sugar ontop to make it seem like a coffee/chocolate version of creme brule. It really was missing an extra component, not something I'd order again, sadly, but it wasn't bad, just nothing special. Not a small or giant portion, and not a problem to share between 2 people. My brother got the Banana Cream cheesecake 9$ which was the biggest slice of cheesecake I've ever seen served in a restaurant! This was the best desert out of our 3 orders. The caramel bananas ontop were nice and warm, which I never see on cheesecakes. The caramel itself was not overly sweet, and a very nice texture to it and drizzled over and across the plate and was nice to swipe each forkfull across, though I didn't notice it was the salted type when I tasted it. The cheesecake itself was velvety and very pleasant. Graham base wasn't too hard or too soft. The roasted dark pecans ontop were nice, but they don't put a lot of it. The only thing this lacked was a crunchy element ontop, like some sort of crumbled layer added would have sufficed to help balance out the textures, it's ok to not add more expensive pecans, but maybe something similar to an apple crumble texture would had been great. Otherwise it was perfect and a really nice surprizing treat :) The slice didn't need to be that big though, it was very indulgant, and if that's their usual size, then it's really something meant for sharing between two people, but they ought to specify that since it is huge. Also got the icecream and sorbet 5$. Sounded nice; 3 scoops: vanilla ice cream, mango sorbet, and peach sorbet. I didn't try it, my mom said it all tasted very good and very different from everywhere else, but she was very embarassed by how gigantic the plate was compared to the 3 miniature scoops in the middle at the bottom, (with a cute mint leaf ontop). The plate made the food look tiny, and she felt mocked, and honestly... we were trying not to laugh because it looked... sorry to say, but like a baby dk... lol XD That was a little bit ridiculous... But anyways, the portion was fine, it wasn't exagerated huge scoops, and would had been the perfect guilt free treat after a very fuffilling dinner, which from looking at what other people got, they do give full portions. Very polite waiters. Took a little time for them to come with our bill, eventhough it wasn't busy, though for an early tuesday evening, I was surprised to see the place filled up 1/3rd since it was in the middle of nowhere. Didn't even know it was there. The restaurant itself isn't huge at all, yet it wasn't cramped either or a lot of empty spaces, comfortable, and you see everything when inside, no hidden seating. The high ceilings gave a nice feel, and the simple modern wood decor was actually very rustic while still being very elegant. This is totally a nice place to take a date, and was also child friendly. They give you actual cloth napkins, not tissue material, and a fire lit candle in the middle of the table, so this deffinetely feels adult yet they don't overdo it. I'm happy that I have this so close to home! Deffinetly coming back for an actual meal :3

Yelp
Happy to have this little bistro so close to home :) Everything I ordered was delicious. Crab cakes are really good and I especially liked the green apple slaw that it came with. I tried the Mac and cheese, beef and salmon tartar. The only thing I wasn't too into was the shredded hard boiled egg on top of the salmon tartar. Tartar was good I just felt like it cheapened the taste of the dish. This was all take out so I will def take time to go dine at the restaurant one day soon. Hopefully this restaurant sticks around as up to now the only restaurant that has succeeded in this location is Mundo which has grown and is now on St-Charles.

Yelp
Nice restaurant with great ambiance. Service was polite but very slow. The meals were delicious but overpriced. The slow pace of the meal service cut our appetites and detracted from our overall experience. For a meal at that price point I'd expect much better service.

Bruce H.

Yelp
Dinner with my wife and a friend this past Saturday and we really enjoyed the evening. The restaurant was busy but everything and everyone were moving smoothly. The waitress was great. Very personable and took the time to explain the specials. We shared the shrimp and chorizo starter. Great start to the evening. For main courses we had the sea bass and the lemon ricotta risotta. Both dishes were great. Portions are quite large so bring your appetite. For dessert we shared the banana cream cheesecake. Delicious! Highly recommend the restaurant. Prices are reasonable. Best part is it's in the neighborhood. Visited August 2016

Yelp
I had an absolutely amazing dinner! The wait staff was fantastic and the food was amazing. I asked for a recommendation and the staff presented a lovely whitefish special, which I agreed to along with an order of oysters. This was followed up by a banana cheesecake with caramel. Omg dinner could not have been better. I will return as soon as possible!!

Yelp
We went there last night we were very pleasantly surprised. Order calmars as entrée were excellent. I had the steak tartare and asked between mild and medium spice was more on the spice side but was very fresh and tasty. My wife had the muscles they were over cooked and hard to get out of the shell. They were tasty but a little hard to eat. The sides were great salad and lots of fries. Large portions bring your appetite. Nice contemporary décor and the service is excellent. In all a place to go back definitely.

Yelp
My wife and I ordered different pasta plates, taste was slightly above average, beautifully decorated restaurant and Daniella, our waitress, was excellent.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service, very personal. The salmon and beef tartare were both fabulous. The steak, mussels and shrimp mains were excellent as well. Thrilled to have a spot like this in the West Island . Will definitely be back.
