"In this bistro, which complements Manoir Hovey's fine dining restaurant, old tools and rustic objects decorate the walls (a rifle, a bow, a canoe, snowshoes, skis, and a saw), making for an inviting and authentic atmosphere. The traditional cuisine with a twist continues in this vein. On the menu: bison tartare accompanied by ribbons of cucumber and celery finished with a black garlic balsamic vinegar gel; scallops come as a carpaccio with lovage oil, or seared with cauliflower, citrus supreme, capers, and gingerbread crumble. It has all the makings of an enjoyable dining experience." - Michelin Inspector

Really good restaurant with impeccable service, next to the Manoir Hovey. We were unable to get reservations at the more famous Hatley, but we don't regret it as the Tap Room was fantastic. They also gracefully accommodated us for a last minute lunch and even gave us a table when we wanted to eat 1 hour before our dinner reservations. As you might have heard, their poutine is fantastic and I recommend trying it. The rest of the menu we tried were great too, including their unique selection of cocktails and mocktails.

A cute getaway spot in North Hately. The service was excellent and the food was great. I love what they did to the place, the decorations are so beautiful and vintage style. The beauty of nature surrounding this place is breathtaking. At night you can sit outside next to a campfire and enjoy clear skies view full of stars. Would definitely come back here again.

One of the best dine-in experiences. The interiors of the restaurant take one back in time and the objects on display which seem to be collected over time, tell a story, making the experience more unique. The food was absolutely delicious and worth the 20 minute drive from Ayer's Cliff with one of the best services we have experienced. I loved the soup of the day!

Service was excellent from the reservation booking over the phone up to the service at the table. Staff is friendly and fluently switching from French (me) and English (a Russian friend). Dishes were fresh and tasty (oysters, wagu steak and chicken salads). Price is reasonable for the quality!

The waitress comes over and sees flies all over our food and says: “they should do something about these flies.” Hmm. Yes they should. Location is spectacular. Local beer and bread quite good. Otherwise, I was disappointed by food quality and quantity. For entrees between $30 and $60, I expect better.

One of our favorite stops on the way home from Canada adventures. The taproom has a modern rustic wilderness lake camp vibe complete with fireplace for its interior decoration that’s as warm and welcoming as the staff. Bartenders sling amazing mixed drinks and they have a fairly extensive wine list for a bar atmosphere. The food is basic pub fare but elevated (think herb and nut pâté over sea bass on a bed of potato purée vs fish and chips for example) and oysters are always so fresh and shucked to perfection! The best part for us is the awesome staff that have a perfect balance of offering you a nice private dinner experience while also being so attentive and kind that you feel like you are friends coming over for dinner rather than just a customer dining in an establishment. We love Le Hatley Restaurant next door as well for a longer and more formal farm to table dinner/gastronomic experience - but the tap room is our go to for well prepared delicious fast food.
