Bistro Madeleine

The food is very good. There only one thing this Michelin restaurant could improve - to make the front door easier to open and make less noise.

Second time we ate here. Very nice staff. Good wines. Good food. Place and location is perfect.

I had a reservation for 7:30 pm made a month in advance. We arrived a few minutes early and found a dark entrance area with no one greeting guests or checking reservations. Several people were already waiting. We waited about 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. When we finally stopped a waitress, she said someone else handled the tables. A few minutes later another staff member arrived. I politely mentioned our reservation, and she replied,rather dismissively, that “this is the busiest and best restaurant in Utrecht,” so waiting was normal. When I pointed out that nobody had greeted us or given any information, she just said: “that’s how it works here.” At that point we decided to leave. The issue wasn’t the delay itself, but the complete lack of courtesy and communication. Really disappointing experience. I hope they learn to treat guests with a bit more respect.

Staff was nice, but the venue hopelessly overcrowded. We waited 2 hours for our first course, sitting a total of 4(!) hours. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the location is beautiful. If they would cut down on the amount of tables, this would be a winner

We went to this restaurant two times and had two very different experiences. Once on Friday: the food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and attentive and we had a good time. (I strongly recommend their madeleines, since they serve them freshly baked). However the second time, which was on a Saturday night, was a bit of a nightmare, as the restaurant was really crowded. We waited 45 minutes for a small plate of oysters, and more than an hour for the chicken (we ended up paying and leaving before it arrived cause it had been too long). To sum it up, and overall great restaurant, but very unorganized when particularly crowded, so keep that in mind if you wanna eat there during the weekend.

Fantastic lunch with stunning views! Creative menu using quality ingredients. Tuna steak was extremely tender and pepper sauce made to perfection. Friendly & attentive staff, great experience. Will definitely return.

An unexpectedly beautiful dinner setting! We sat by the window and had a stellar view of the Dom during our meal. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We loved the zucchini and quail dishes!

Waited 70 minutes for tiny starters. Another 50 minutes for main course. Kitchen and staff works super hard, they just have way too many tables. And too little food for the price - 90 euros pp for 2 courses with 3 kids (who only drink coke and water)

We came here on a Saturday evening. The place was packed. I ordered the langoustine appetizer followed by the tomahawk steak that I shared with my son. The entree was nice but the tomahawk had no taste while it was overpriced for the provided serving. Service was a bit slow but they were friendly. The menu is limited but provides something for most tastes. Not sure if I want to come back.

Great atmosphere, food was good (recommend the beef tenderloin and white chocolate dessert was heavenly) and waitress was real attentive and also helped me recharge my phone on her charger. Was suggested by several local colleagues and they were right.
