"With this lovely bistro, Thorsten Bender offers an alternative to sein, his restaurant right next door. The place has a stylish and lively feel; the terrace in the courtyard makes for an irresistibly romantic setting in summer. The commitment that the owners bring to their work is palpable – both in the delicious regional cuisine, which includes classic and modern dishes, and the inviting and pleasingly laid-back service under the direction of the lady of the house. Good food is accompanied by wines at prices that won't break the bank. At lunch, the reasonably priced set menu draws a crowd. Tip: Adjacent to the bistro is the intimate and stylishly cosy Séparée. Bistro Margarete in Karlsruhe has a lovely ambiance with an inviting atmosphere and attentive service that makes a good first impression. However, the food experience didn’t quite live up to the setting. The dishes were beautifully presented but leaned more toward visual appeal than actual depth in texture and flavor. The beef tartar, for example, was overpowered by a mustard-like sauce that made it taste more like a salad than a proper tartar. The ox dish had decent flavor but the texture was quite tough, with noticeable interstitial fat that congealed unpleasantly as it cooled. Another point to consider is the pricing—nearly 20 euros for a small 0.25L glass of red wine feels excessive, especially for casual diners. If you decide to visit, it’s worth coming for the atmosphere and service, perhaps sticking to lighter options or drinks while enjoying the ambiance. Be aware that while the presentation is elegant, the flavors may not match the price point, so temper expectations accordingly.

Excellent service and super high quality food. Chef & waiter came out and talked through the menu and offered suggestions in a friendly, low pressure way. Very nice, quiet ambiance.

Ein super netter Ort das für die gehobene Küche ein sehr angenehmes Preiswertes Lokal abgibt. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen sehr fein und trotzdem aufgrund der Auswahl der Gerichte Bodenständig (im positiven Sinne). Das Lokal ist sehr modern und schön gestaltet und es wirkt sehr gemütlich. Für einen gegebenen Anlass eine absolute Empfehlung.

Die Küche ist geschmackvoll und gradlinig, das Ambiente gemütlich und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Die einzelnen Gerichte waren lecker und stimmig, auch wenn an manchen Stellen eine Zutat weniger vielleicht noch mehr Klarheit gebracht hätte. Ebenso war die Wahl von Geschirr und Weinbegleitung nicht immer perfekt, aber dennoch passend genug, um das Menü insgesamt harmonisch wirken zu lassen. Alles in allem ein rundes Erlebnis, bei dem man sich willkommen und gut aufgehoben fühlt.

Essen hammer service top sehr zuvorkommend nettes bistro immer ein besuch wert. Nur Leute sorry besorgt euch anderes Wasser Wasser aus dem Brunnen mit etwas Kohlensäure versetzen und dann fast 10€ die Flasche irgendwo muss man die Kirche noch im Dorf lassen. Sonst ohne Worte jederzeit wieder. Danke und entschuldige bitte das ich ehrlich bin.
