I visited here for both lunch and dinner. The cuisine was not only of exceptional quality but also beautifully presented with artistic flair, showcasing the finest culinary traditions of Venice, enhanced by their contemporary interpretations of classic Italian desserts. The service, however, was the reason I HAD to return. David provided thorough explanations regarding the preparation of each dish and the origin of the ingredients, demonstrating extensive knowledge of the wine selection. His recommendations from wine to dessert options were all on point.

We stopped by for lunch — chose the restaurant in advance after looking through the menu, which stood out with its interesting and refined dishes. We were looking for something beyond the usual tourist fare, and it definitely delivered. The food was excellent: well-balanced, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. Portions weren’t large, but everything felt deliberate and well-composed — you can tell there’s real attention to detail. Special thanks to the staff. Service was polite, attentive, and never overbearing. A particular mention goes to Fabio and Giuseppe — both were incredibly kind and made the atmosphere warm and relaxed. A great spot if you're looking for a calm, high-quality lunch in the heart of Venice, with a focus on flavor and care. Air conditioner!

Once you taste the cuisine at this restaurant, you’ll understand why it earned a Michelin recommendation. I planned a special surprise for my mother and reserved the romantic menu for her, knowing her love for roses. The experience was exceptional, with impeccable service that made the evening truly memorable. Each dish was introduced with clear, thoughtful explanations, adding to the anticipation. The welcome drinks were delightful—fruity, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The scallop dish was a standout for me; it was cooked to perfection and paired with an addictive, flavorful sauce that elevated every bite. The ravioli was equally impressive, its unique filling complemented by a rich, well-crafted sauce. The beef fillet was another highlight—tender, succulent, and cooked to a flawless medium, just as we requested. For dessert, we were treated to a delicious creation with a harmonious sweet-sour balance that left us feeling refreshed and satisfied. Before we left the restaurant, the staff presented us with a sweet plate.

Google
Charged us a lot of money for the bread… opening appetizer had a bug along the plate rim and I said there’s a bug he said it’s not my problem 😭 beef tongue was tender but SO SALTY it’s like been marinating for too long or something. Pasta had three shrimps in total too much carbs not enough seafood. The eel had literally no flavor like it quite literally just tasted like salt in eel. Tiramisu was pretty liked the crunchy cookie in it but really nothing stood out

From our week of dining around Venice, we truly saved the best till last. We walked past Bistrot de Venice a number of times and commented how lovely it looked. This was a true fine dining experience and the options in the 4 course tasting menu were just perfection. We were offered 3 options per course to choose from. To get the best out of it me and my partner ordered different courses (taste and to see on presentation). The food was incredible! So much food! The photos below show the high quality food experience provided. The service was the best we had received in Venice. The waiters were all so welcoming, offered guidance and took time to explain each course as it came out. Really great service from all the team and that didn't go unnoticed. It was just perfect. We actually did the later dining so from 9:30pm we received 20% off our total bill. The tasting menu is around €110 per person for the 4 course menu. ❤️

The staff were exceptionally welcoming, and our waiter provided thorough and knowledgeable guidance through the menu. The cuisine was exquisite—each dish not only showcased a refined and well-balanced palate but was also presented with artistic flair. The chef’s talent is unmistakable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable and elevated dining experience.

Didn’t think we were going to be able to eat dinner on the terrace but a combination of a beautiful day and wall heaters made the evening. Food here is top class. We shared the sea food cicchetti followed by lamb and black rice. Our son had the lasagne and we finished up with dessert and petits fours. A final bottle of Valpolicella made outlet evening.

One of the best experiences in Venice. Excellent service. Staff professional, helpful and with a sense of humor. Very tasty traditional cuisine and excellent service. Lovely atmosphere with classical music. Will definitely recommend to friends and come back myself! Thank you for making guests feel comfortable!

Yelp
A Michelin Star Experience Like No Other! Absolutely PERFECT in every way. I am still speechless after dining at Bistrot de Venice. We've visited several Michelin Star restaurants, but this one stands out far above the rest. We had the pleasure of celebrating our engagement dinner here, and it was the most perfect choice, thanks to the recommendation from our hotel, H10 Palazzo Canova. Chef Stefano Novello and his incredible team exceeded every expectation! We opted for the Bistrot Tasting Experience on the suggestion of our wonderful server, David, who was not only friendly but incredibly knowledgeable. His passion for the food and service made the evening even more special. We also chose to do the wine pairing for each course, and Nicola expertly paired every glass to absolute perfection, enhancing the flavor of each dish. The dishes themselves? ART ON A PLATE. Each plate was a work of art, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavors that still linger in my mind. Chef Stefano's talent and creativity truly shine through in every bite. I'm still mind blown. If you are in Venice and have the opportunity to dine here, do not miss it. This is a must-visit restaurant, and it will undoubtedly become the highlight of your trip. Bravo to Chef Stefano and his entire team for creating an unforgettable dining experience!

Yelp
Arrived on our first trip to Venice and was able to get a reservation for Le Bistrot de Venise for a fabulous late night date. We liked the rich atmosphere and the small dinning room settings that were richly decorated. The local bread with a Bruno Salento Primitivo dry red was great. The Chef sent us a small cabbage and lamb appetizer that was very tasty. I got the spaghettoni with cuttlefish in black which was delicious. I did well not getting the black squid ink on me lol. My partner got Linguine alla Buzara which he loved. A few Chocolates to close the meal. This was a wonderful experience!!

Yelp
Absolutely awful treatment. Super rude. A SCAM. We arrived at the restaurant 32 minutes after the booking (we got turned around) and they both cancelled our booking AND KEPT OUR DEPOSIT. In any other situation, given it was not a no show but rather a late arrival, any restaurant would have either tried to accommodate us or if the table had truly been given away, they would have refunded the deposit. Instead, the very rude maitre d' simply said "just read the small prints - it's your problem". And if they truly have given the table away, the restaurant has made no loss - a deposit is there to ensure that, so they're just profiting unfairly. Seriously - AVOID. Unbelievable...

Yelp
Superb menu and spectacular service will have me coming back here again and again. Plenty of seating inside and out. Fine dining at its best. Exquisite presentations and perfect portion sizes. Had the scallops and beet hummus for appetizer and they were the best I've had. Main course was beet pasta with pumpkin creme and traditional buckwheat bigoli with anchovies and onions. All I can say is YES PLEASE. Meat course was lamb chops served with prepared pumpkin. Everything was stellar and really epitomized Venetian cuisine. Divine.

Yelp
Service was exquisite, food was perfectly prepared and well presented. Wine list was very extensive, and the sommelier was truly knowledgeable as he assisted us in working through the local selections.

Yelp
Wished we can like it more. Found Le Bistrot de Venise via Michelin Guide. If you like a older school style restaurant, and to be seated in these different small dining rooms, the clientele the night we were there was very mixed tourists: a loud table of 8 of Brit family, a couple that drank coke for dinner, and 3 Asian friends. To the restaurant's defense, service was attentive and Venice is a touristy town but i still can't get pass the ambience being like that. Overall comment is that the dishes seemed dated. The amuse boche was a piece of smoked fish that seemed to be missing something. My main was the steamed eel ($35) which was the highlight of the meal, amazing dish, fresh, cooked really well, the skin had a great texture and very flavorful. The other dish (duck) was a bit tough, a bit over cooked to my taste, a bit dated. Beef tongue was another average dish, served warm. Somm was extremely helpful and helped us picked 4 wines to pair with each dishes, reasonably priced by the glass program was a nice perk to try different local grapes. Overall, service was good, they are here aim to please, but a very old school and touristy restaurant off the main area. Just not to my personal taste. I much preferred Ai Mercanti (night and day if you ask me)

Yelp
Paolo himself welcomed us in tonight with amazing hospitality and charm. He and his staff were personable not only to us but our children as well. The wine list here is incredible. If you want to learn Italian wine, this is a place to do it. We had two glasses of a rarer Barolo which is typically very expensive by the bottle and a rare treat to get just two glasses. The food was impeccable. The sauces were extremely delicate and the mains were perfectly prepared. We had the Ravioli, Linguine, and Umbrine. Each was cooked perfectly and balanced with aromatic herbs, spices like saffron and the most fresh tomatoes. Included were amuse buche and mini desserts that were equally delicious (hazelnut truffles, mango jellies and lemon chiffon creamed cookies). The table service was very attentive and equally kind. Next time we're in Venice, this is on my do not miss list.

Yelp
This was booked by our concierge bc my husband wanted to take us somewhere special while here on our honeymoon in Venice. From the start - staff were attentive and friendly and immediately led us to our quiet table which was reserved for us. Things didn't start off well bc my husband ordered a Manhattan on the rocks which was brought in a martini glass with no ice. He was hangry and unhappy but the waiter eventually understood what he wanted and corrected it. I wasn't happy with the menu bc they didn't really have any vegetarian options - everything was fish, veal or duck. We went with a scallops starter and drinks and left. Still, it was almost $100 because they charge a cover per person. It's a nice spot - and if you like meats it's great - but the limited menu didn't work for us and I didn't see any of the traditional dishes I wanted to eat while in Venice.

Yelp
Michelin rated. As expected food is impressive; various selections but highly composed. Impeccable service; the staff was highly accommodating. Ambiance, albeit small very quaint and posh. We went here for lunch bear in mind this place is $$$$. In our vacation we only went to Michelin rated restaurants.

Yelp
I loved this meal! The staff was patient with my poor Italian but they have menus in English and several other languages. The servers were happy to switch to English when my understanding of Italian (un po, ma no molte bene) was not sufficient for the complexity of the meal. Michelin is a mystery, but my experience here was better than some other places with a star. Perhaps it's because the restaurant is relatively large while all but one of the starred restaurants I have dined at in Venice are tiny. (Glam and Il Ridotto each have about nine tables.) The larger size is an obvious advantage when trying to get a reservation a day ahead instead of months in advance. I ordered the "Chef's Fantasy" six course tasting menu with wine pairings. The amuse bouche at dinner had six items! Raw shrimp, scallops, tuna tartare, beef tartar, duck, caviar. Each with various sauces and herbs. It was paired with champagne. The first appetizer was lightly seared scallops, from Boston!, with roasted cauliflowers on a cauliflower purée. Paired with a medium bodied white from Fruili The second appetizer course was a sous vide egg on shrimp with puréed potato under caviar. It was paired with a white Pinot from Fruilli. Next, risotto with two kinds of shrimp, a scallop, beet root, scallions and micro greens This was followed by Bucatini pasta with a three kinds of tomatoes sauce, black garlic, micro-greens, and a lightly grilled shrimp. It was paired with a Schiavoni from Puglia. The penultimate dish was baked eel served with a Schioppettino. It's an ancient grape, today only found in Fruillia. The wine was stellar. It was complex with a long finish with cherry, leather, and a little bit of citrus. The eel was baked then finished in a sauté pan to make the skin crispy, then served on soft polenta in a cheese sauce topped with lamb au jus, apricot sauce, and some sort of micro greens related to celery that I didn't quite understand. The Schioppettino was my favorite wine of the evening, although none were bad. The eel was my least favorite course--not something I would order again a la carte. Pre-dessert was rosemary ice cream on top of coco and some sort of fruit and rosemary gelatin. It was light, refreshing, and delicious. My server said it was a new menu item as of today. For dessert, raspberry sorbet, freeze dried bitter orange, fresh fall fruits. Crunchy panna cotta. Accompanied by a late-harvest win Service was fantastic. The courses were well-timed and each one described to me as it was served. I highly recommend Bistrot de Venise. It was a terrific dining experience.

Yelp
I love tasting menus and was prepared for the price tag. Unfortunately, the food, service, and ambiance didn't work for me. At €230, I expected and deserved better. Left a horrible taste in my mouth (quite literally) for our last dinner in Venice. Food/drinks: We did the 4-course tasting menu. I was very excited they could work with gluten free and dairy free diet. Amuse bouche was squash purée and carrots (fine). Starter was sturgeon and prawns (both extremely good). Food was beautifully presented. Wine we selected was a delicious dry yet fruit forward rosé, with assistance from the sommelier. And sadly, it all went downhill from there. Pasta plate was supposed to be allergen free but something in it did not sit well in my stomach, so I left it largely untouched. Fish entree was a disaster; I got sick immediately upon taking a bite. Unfortunately, my stomach was too queasy at that point so I couldn't eat the replacement dish my partner insisted on or the following dessert. My partner had duck and tiramisu which he said were good. Ambiance: The best part of Venice for me is the atmosphere and people watching. Despite a reservation a week in advance, we were told we couldn't sit outside due to rain. That was a bummer, but being seated in the very back was even more of a bummer. It was intimate (only a few tables) but not interesting. We eventually requested to be moved outside, which they agreed to for dessert course because someone didn't show up. Service: This has an old school, "white glove"-like vibe, which I can confirm is not my preferred style. Were multiple staff present, quick to clear plates, multilingual, and mostly pleasant? Yes. Were they actually attentive to our needs? No. The waiter kept telling me not to worry when I asked him to confirm that we properly indicated my dietary restrictions. Our server kept asking to take my pasta plate, and finally when I told him I didn't like it, he smiled and nodded and nothing happened (English communication barrier?). By the 3rd course, my partner had to flag someone else down to tell them I spit it out and then he suggested I get a replacement dish when the waiter argued with us that it was "perfectly cooked". (The couple next to us also had problems with the same ombrine fish dish, with no apologies; they ordered a la carte and ended their meal there.) We weren't offered more water when our carafe was finished mid-meal; thank goodness for good wine. Here's the thing: we didn't say anything about paying the full price; we understand now that it's not always about the customer. And maybe some people will find this to their taste. This meal was 3.5 hours of our lives and a down payment on the handbag I've been eyeing that I'll never get back.

Yelp
Perfect service at this place....like wow for the wait staff. Additionally, the meal was absolutely perfect. It is not cheap but well worth it after a day of seeing the sights in the extreme heat. To sit in this cool, shaded corner and get impeccable service was fantastic. I tried the traditional Venetian calf's liver on polenta, which I think was hominy for Americans..not the traditional yellow polenta I was thinking of. Delicious and iron packed. Our pasta starter, the maccheroncini was delicious.

Yelp
Make sure to make reservations ahead of time. We had them for 7 which was a perfect time as it began to fill up afterwards. We were seated immediately and the waiter handed us the menus. He was very nice and offered to grab water and asked if we wanted a drink. I ordered some prosecco to start . They do have "meals" if you want to choose from a pre set menu but i went for picking my own. I ordered the scallops, blue lobster gazpacho and the duck breast . I asked the waiter to pair a wine with each course for me as well. They bring you this raw salmon pallet cleanser to start and I'm not a fish nor a raw fab but this was actually really good. My scallops arrived and to me they were not cooked enough. There were also tiny hard pieces of something in them which made the dish off putting . My next dish arrived and they poured in the gazpacho into the bowl for me. This dish was really good . The coldness of the soup mixed with the fresh lobster was great. My duck arrived a little later and first thing i noticed was that the day had not been properly rendered down . There was a layer of fat all around the breast. It was cooked well and it still tasted good . For desert i ordered a chocolate and passion fruit dish. He paired a local sweet red wine with it which went perfectly. Overall the experience was a decent one i just wish the wait staff had been more attentive to glasses on the table and filling my water up ( small things i know but for the high class restaurant you would expect this )

Yelp
This was a cute little out door restaurant that we stumbled upon on the way to our hotel. It was just my cousin and I who were dining here but we're seated quickly and served in a timely manner. She got the gnocchi and I got a mushroom pasta as this was our last night in Italy and first night in Venice. I appreciated that we were served in a quick manner and the food was delicious.

Yelp
This place was the highlight of our trip to Venice. Truly outstanding from beginning to end. The food had an artistic look with some authentic flavors, truly don't know how they did it! The lasagna was a win, the sweet and sour prawns were a new favorite of mine. Service wise no complaints, the sommelier took great care of us.

Yelp
Located at the street level of our hotel (Antica locanda al gambero), I believe this place has Michelin recognition. I was so surprised that a very unassuming restaurant had that great of service & food. In Venice, this place very well could have been my husband's favorite!!! Everything was delicious including the dessert. The best part? We could walk up to our room afterwards to sleep. The service was spot on & the waiters speak great English! Around here, people eat dinner much later so don't be surprised if you see people just coming in to dine around 8-9 pm. The downside was the mosquitoes, we ate there in September and the mosquitoes ate us. The staff was nice enough to give us repellent. Being that Venice is very touristy and expensive no matter where you dine, this place is definitely worth your money.

Yelp
**This review is based on a tour meal This is a michelin recommended restaurant. The overall ambiance of this place is great. The decor is nice and there's classical music playing. The bathroom is clean. The prix fixe menu here that we got consisted of a shrimp pasta, roasted chicken, tiramisu, and coffee. Everything tasted delicious. The chicken was very flavorful and not dry at all. The tiramisu was a bit on the sweeter side but went well with the coffee that we got afterwards.
google avatar

Saige M.

Yelp
Oh my god, this restaurant is one of the best in Venezia. From the beginning to the end it is a 5 star experience. The sommelier was an expert and enjoyed answering all of our questions. We even got a detailed history on the olive oil given for dipping. The bread basket is so diverse and they kept refilling it all night! The deconstructed tiramisu is incredible but that creams brûlée with rosemary ice cream is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Yelp
3 RD time I eat hear in 2 years. It always delivers great on food. Service this time around was OK but not excellent as usual. We need to be considerate it was an extremely busy weekend in Venice Dolce&Gabbana had there Alta Mida event. What an event!!

Great service, great wine list, great food, great outdoor tables and lights, cool historical recovery of ancient Venetian recipes... I loved this place.

Yelp
We ate here as a recommendation from our hotel because the restaurants I wanted to eat at were full. This is a very classic Venetian restaurant and semi-fancy. I enjoyed the bogoli pasta and my husband liked the octopus. We each got the duck breast and it came with an awesome chutney. The waiters are very well trained and polite, and the chef even brings out a few compliments throughout your time there. We also got a rare red wine from NE Italy and it was fantastic and really well priced. This was a cute find!!

Yelp
Never had better lasagne in my life. The hubby ordered Ravioli, it was divine. The staff was very hospitable and welcoming,

Yelp
So I wanted to find a place to take my good friend for his birthday dinner so I looked around the web to find a restaurant in Venice. I come across this place because I wanted a place that cooked Venetian cuisine so I gave it a go since it looked like a nice restaurant. The place is cozy with a lot of ornate decorations. The staff were all welcoming and attended us well. The menu had many different types of dishes and they also included some information about it such as when the dishes were created in Venice. They have an ala carte menu and a set menu that included 4 or 6 dishes. I ended up ordering spaghetti with cuttlefish in black sauce and sturgeon with grape sauce. Before I got the spaghetti the staff were kind to give us a tomato soup as a starter. A simple dish but absolutely amazing. The flavours were spot on! The tomato soup wasn't too tangy and seasoned well. It had ricotta cheese in it which I never had before in this type of soup and went well together along with the basil leaf. (I'll definitely have to include that next time when I make my own tomato soup!) Honestly, all I needed was a grilled cheese sandwich and I would have been a happy boy! As I was waiting for the spaghetti I googled cuttlefish cause I realised I didn't really know how the darn thing looked like but I really enjoyed eating it. I didn't realise it was like a little octopus, but it made total sense cause the texture is like calamari. Anyways the dish was absolutely beautiful on the eyes when I got it. It came in a white deep bowl and the spaghetti in the back sauce looked amazing! The flavours were delicate and well balanced. Perfectly seasoned and the cuttlefish were cooked to perfection. Perfectly tender and no fishy taste. I think you can easily mess this dish up cause the flavour is simple and this one taster way better than the one I ate the day before. The sturgeon with the grape sauce was good. The sturgeon was meaty and the grape sauce went well with the fish. I thought the fish needed a bit more salt because if you ate the fish alone it was a bit bland. The staff gave us a dish of bite size sweets to end the meal which was truly generous. I didn't care much for dessert after I saw the selection so after I paid for the bill I ran to my fave gelato place before it closed for dessert! Ha! Anyways this is a great place to end a rainy day in Venice. Kind staff with delicious meals that get several of your senses to work. A good place to take someone to celebrate an occasion... It's pricier than other restaurants around but well worth it if you want to spend a bit of extra €€€.

Yelp
We rode past on a gondola and the rower mentioned this place and said it was the best. We checked Yelp for reviews and seemed like everyone gave it 4 stars. We decided to go for dinner. We sat inside and it took around 10 minutes to get water. Walter gave us menus and was a bit aggressive, kind of scary. Took our order 20 minutes later. They gave us a bread basket and brought out an amuse bouche. Not a big fan but it was presented nicely. We received our entree and they were small potions. We had the Duck & Lasagna. After dinner it took a while to get the check. Gave us a small plate of snacks with the check. That was a nice gesture. Food was good but not worth the money. Way to expensive

Yelp
The best food I had in Italy by far, our server was very knowledgeable and gave us the best attention.. the desserts are to die for and the price was reasonable

Yelp
What a wonderful romantic find in Venice. I reserved a romantic dinner for my wife's birthday and that it was. The entire staff but especially our waiter did a fantastic job. The food was delicious and the wine menu extensive. We enjoyed a three course meal and a special birthday cake for my wife. If you want a restaurant in Venice with great food and wine this is the place. Great job everyone.

Yelp
First, a little tidbit of helpful information on Italian dining establishments: A ristorante is more of a formal restaurant for lunch or dinner where entrees must be ordered by the patrons. If you are looking for a more casual environment or just a light meal or some appetizers with a glass of wine you should dine at a trattoria, osteria, or enoteca instead. Most dining establishments are clearly labeled ristorante, trattoria, osteria, or enoteca. Le Bistrot de Venise is a ristorante and enoteca, the two areas being pretty clearly delineated. Being not especially hungry at the time, opted to dine in the elegant enoteca area. Ordered a bottle of the house red wine and salumi plates which consisted of salami, prosciutto, three different kinds of cheeses, walnuts and honey and was also accompanied by a bread basket filled with bread, focaccia, and bread sticks. The cured meats and cheeses were excellent, some of the best salami and prosciutto I've had in recent memory. All paired with the wine, it was a nice slice of la dolce vita. Service was exceptional and on par with top fine dining establishments in the U.S. Great location and easy to find from Piazza San Marco, elegant atmosphere, and excellent service and food, I only hope that I will be able to return to Venice again soon so that I can spend more time here and dine properly at the ristorante. Le Bistrot de Venise also comes recommended by the Michelin Guide.

Yelp
Excellent service and the food was pretty good here. Our server, Walter took wonderful care of us. We sat down and were talked into glasses of excellent sparkling wine....we were not hard to sell and at 10 euro a glass it wasn't too expensive. ;) We had the scallops at 20 bucks a pop, they were good, but definitely not worth the price. I had the gnocci with pesto, that was delightful but over priced. My husband had the spaghetti with Tuna and olives, his was seriously good!!! We both enjoyed the fish of the day. It was a nice filet of fish with potatoes for a side. Our 2 bottles of delicious water included and our tab was 180 euro. Steep, but after some rather sketchy meals it was almost necessary to spend more for good food with spectacular service and close to our hotel. Ciao!

Yelp
Delicious Michelin star restaurant - with excellent service and beautiful ambience. We were staying in the hotel above so we also received an additional 10% discount. The prices were high but not outrageous. For the two of us the total came to around 140 euros. Most of their menu was traditional Venetian food with recipes from the 17th century ! Overall, we really enjoyed our fancy night out in Venice at this restaurant ! I would highly recommend reserving in advance since it gets really busy. They have two seatings - 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

Yelp
Excellent recommendation from our hotel. Reservations were definitely needed as with most in Venice. Plan on spending time as dinner is an event! We started with a seafood sampler, small plates with local and eclectic preparations. There was a bit of fusion with sauces varied from a candied tuna to a Venetian version of sweet and sour shrimp. Fresh bread selections accompanied by excellent olive oils round out a great appetizer. The spaghetti and seafood was amazing. Mussels, bay scallops, shrimp all prepped perfectly. The pasta was prepared perfectly and properly. The wife ordered the goose and pasta. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Flavor depths beyond imagination. Beware the free flowing libations. Americans are used to an hour long dinner with a few glasses of wine. Dinner here is 2+ hours and your cup never runneth empty :)

James H.

Yelp
Except for being seated in the rear dining room near a noisy family with two undisciplined children, why here after 8:00 p.m.?.....the dining room and the ambiance are quite nice.....service is a bit over the top for what you get :the first course of spaghetti with a creamy clam sauce was a small pile of spaghetti in a spicy red sauce, not what I imagined, and the calves.liver main course was thinly sliced, very thinly sliced liver on a pile of polenta.........small and over rated..looked like dog food, but tasted ok. The maitre d was very charming but the dinner was expensive and ultimately disappointing,

Yelp
Our last dinner in Venice before returning home. I loved it. Great Ambiance, amazing service. Different artist work displayed on the wall. Had menus from Venetian recipes from 16-18 century (may be off a bit). Great wine menu and they help you find right wine. Seafood sampler: unique flavors. Fresh. I ordered pumpkin dumplings- great dish. Bit filling for me. Would've liked this as an appetizer Size. Hubby had scampi with taglioni. He likes the pasta. He didn't see much scampi. More like shell. I ordered pear desSert and love it. Great blend of flavors using balsamic vinegar. Hubby ordered tiramisu: I thought it was pretty good. He didn't like it because strong coffee flavor and not coffee lover. Note: they close a few hours between lunch and dinner. May need reservations.

Yelp
We did not have a reservation but stopped by around 7:40 pm to try and get in to this very fine restaurant. We noticed the dress code on line was more up scale which we were prepared for. Every table was filled outside and only a few available inside. The host said he'd try to get us seated by 8:00 pm. He said we could wait inside and have a drink first or just hang. He came in at 8:00 and seated us inside. I feel having been dressed nicely (sports jacket and no tennis shoes) was to our advantage in the service. Lovely decor, professional waiters, caring to pare a wine with your selections. Everything ordered was excellent. We knew it was expensive, but you get what you pay for- We were very satisfied.

Yelp
This was our favorite restaurant by far in Venice. Everything was delicious from start to finish, and service was also fantastic. We tried other restaurants thinking everything in Venice was like this spot, and we were continually disappointed. If we could do it again we would have eaten every meal here :) highly recommend!!

Yelp
Just 100% excellent! Cuisine, service, atmosphere. Very attentive to every guest's need, creative, classy! A little bit $$$$ which is quite normal for Venice in general.

Yelp
My husband and I came for dinner here at the recommendation of our hotel, and I have to say, we were pretty disappointed. The ambiance and service was mostly good - but the food just didn't meet the mark. Things were not off to a great start when we received a basket full of stale bread. We then each received an amuse bouche - which was an overcooked prawn in a sauce with a bit of polenta. When my husband asked for a recommendation for a light red wine, he received a beautiful glass of wine - but when he asked the sommelier for the price, she obviously guessed, as she told him a price that was actually half of what showed up on the bill. For my first course, I had fried soft shell crab with artichoke salad The crab was not great, and the whole dish generally lacked a lot of flavour - which was disappointing as this is apparently a classic Venetian dish and I love crab and artichoke. My husband had the smoked cod, which he also felt was lacking in flavour and the slices of the fish were quite thick rather than being thin and delicate. For a main, I had black spaghetti with cuttlefish. It was extremely heavy and thick - my husband had the same dish a day later which was considerably better. It also left me feeling quite ill almost immediately after eating it. My husband had the historic Venetian ravioli, which he felt was lacking in flavour and just wasn't very exciting. The rose ice cream that I received as a pre-dessert was actually very lovely. My husband had a dessert that I can't recall that was also just ok. It also rubbed me the wrong way that they ask each table how they heard about the restaurant - which makes me think that they are offering incentives to hotels in return for recommendations. Unfortunately, this was, although by no means terrible - the worst meal we had in Venice. Overpriced for the quality and I would never recommend or return. There are far better restaurants in Venice.

Yelp
Perfect from beginning to end. Worried about getting about an outside table, the jovial maitre d was able to find a nice one. Stefano the sommelier is funny, honest and incredibly knowledgeable. He helped us play class out two stunning wines made from grapes only grown locally in the Veneto. A French couple next to us followed suit. An amuse Bouche of salmon and fennel started. On the friendly multi lingual waiter's suggestion, I started with local lagoon soft shell crabs over artichoke that were amazingly but subtly flavored. Main was mullet from the lagoon very simply prepared. No rush, service was attentive and friendly without either fawning or contempt. Good place to practice the Venetian dialect if you're up on your Italian. Will return for sure. Locals and tourists in the know who seek out real food at reasonable prices. It's not cheap, but this quality shouldn't be.

Yelp
Great food but wasn't wow'ed. Having just arrived from Firenze I wasn't sure what to expect. The service was attentive and the price was very reasonable. Would come again but expected a bit more in terms of the palate experience.

Yelp
They only lose a star for the price, everything else was awesome. Really wonderful service and a nice location. We sat outside and even tough it was warm t was great. We had the zucchini blossom which was very nice. The lasagna was just ok but the risotto was excellent. Try the duck as your main, that's perfect. Our server was also very engaging so it made it a fun experience.

Yelp
I was recently in Venice with a group of friends, my wife and I decided to have a romantic dinner on our last night. We are so happy that we chose Bristrot de Venise for this occasion. We had been to all of the top restaurants in town and Bistrot was our favorite by far. Aside from the competent, professional service, we were very impressed by the chef's innovative take on Italian cuisine and the execution was incredibly precise. In particular, the Chef's Choice starter was excellent that evening and we thoroughly appreciated the 2011 Tignanello that we selected from the wine list. For one of our courses I ordered the Lasagne and it was simply magnificent--I have never experienced any dish quite like it. Our server described how the ragout is prepared over many hours, which explains the complexity of the flavor. But it is the béchamel that is truly the star of the dish; impossibly light and delicate yet somehow robust enough to accompany the other components. Make sure this restaurant is on your itinerary during your next trip to Venice.

Yelp
Best meal in Venice. Everything was perfect. The wine, both courses, and the dessert. I had the scallops, cheese ravioli, and crime brûlée. I would recommend this to anyone. Nice and quiet away from the tourist section. Great ambiance and service!

Yelp
If I could give more stars for Bistrot, I would gladly do so! We came to this restaurant http the recommendation from Roberto at Cafe Florian (and you'll see a separate review of that!). And it was spectacular!!! The decor of the restaurant is typically Venetian, wonderfully done and quite comfortable. The service of the staff was exceptional, even allowing us a "taste test" of some of the different olive oils they present, which was a real treat. We all highly recommended the Olio Cru from Trentino... a bit peppery, but not overwhelming and quite tasty! As for the meal it too was excellent. I had the Carbonara Scampi, which as their recipe was done without the egg in a reduced Scampi sauce, keeping it light and very good with the fresh pasta. The others at our table all spoke very highly of their meals as well. It was probably among one of the best meals I have had, let alone the best in Venezia! When the chef came out to ask about our meal, we all applauded him!! GO...MANGIA! You will not be disappointed, I can assure you that.

Yelp
I could not tell you enough! Stop looking at the 5 star reviews, this place as average food and super expensive price! Go somewhere else to save yourselves some money and get better food.

Yelp
A romantic restaurant with lovely decor. Their attentive service made our dinner so special. Hoping the damage caused by the recent water floods did not wipe out this precious place.

Yelp
Pros: lovely dining experience provided by our waiter. We had asked for a recommendation for a red wine for the meal, and he went through the menu to look for one that he thought would be perfect. He ended up not finding the one he thought of, so he suggested a Pinot noir and we ordered it. However, he came back a minute later and said he found the smoother wine that he was thinking of before. It was half the price of the Pinot noir. We changed our order, and it tasted so delicious. The best red wine I've ever had. The food also was excellent. Perhaps a tad salty on the cuttlefish spaghetti. They have free wifi...that you can get by hovering near the entrance or the bridge as well. Cons: not much. Cost was 50 euros for two people for lunch. Not really a con just FYI.

Yelp
What can we say? This was our last night in Venice, and to celebrate our 5th anniversary we chose this place and couldn't be happier with our choice. 5 star, Michelin rated, excellent experience!!
