Bistrot des Voraces

Very nice local restaurant with traditional Lyonnaise food! Atmosphere is great, food is good. A pleasant experience.

What a wonderful bistro. We didn’t book but managed to get an early table as walk in’s (do book). The food was simply excellent and clearly cooked by chefs who really knew how to treat the beautiful local produce. We wished we were staying longer as we no doubt would have eaten here many times. Also the wine list is excellent and our set menu (with lots of choice) was great value.

A wonderful local restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. Very good value. We enjoyed it so much we had dinner there twice in three days. Very good chefs with a changing menu. We will definitely return.

Great food and atmosphere. Very friendly staff, highly recommended.

Excellent place for forward looking cuisine yet can still give a traditional taste of the local cuisine. The prices are reasonable AB’s portions are quite generous. The Jarreton de Porcelet is a must have. Excellent. Beef tongue was tender and garnish with carrot and potatoes while simple was well done. The poire roti was wonderful, not too sweet but with the praline filled caramel sauce, was a perfect ending. The selection of wine is wide and for different budgets. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

Food was great! But I value service a lot and the service not that great. I was a solo English speaking traveller, so I’m not sure if this had to do with it. I was initially told no tables as they’re all reserved but as I was walking away was called back because they had a table in the corner. They were busy so I will understand some delays but it took a long time for someone to come to me. As mentioned the food was good. But they also then forgot to bring me my third course, until I reminded them. No one checked on me in 30 minutes during this time either. The waiter did a good job of explaining the dishes which I appreciated.

A wonderful place with excellent food and very good service! Unpretentious, welcoming and lovely in every sense of the word. Enjoyed every minute we spent here.

Bistro des Voraces was the only restaurant we hadn't planned, and it turned out to be an excellent find. We're so glad we trusted the reviews. It's conveniently located on La Croix-Rousse, a few blocks from the weaving museums. We loved the food, service, atmosphere and presentation. The next time we're in Lyon, we'll make it a point to return.
