Bistrot Marius

The food was delicious and the atmosphere lovely, but the extremely slow and bizarre service kind of ruined the experience. We arrived at 12:45 and barely got out the door in time for our 14:30 train (literally a 2 min walk). We waited a good 45 minutes just for our main dishes, possibly longer. Impossible to get someone’s attention afterwards for more water. We didn’t order wine or starters… and I would have liked a dessert but was told there would be a long wait even for a scoop of ice cream… or a café gourmand which is always composed of mini desserts prepared in the morning, so I can’t imagine how there could be a long wait). By the time the food came our toddler had eaten all the bread and tapenade and unfortunately wasted most of the beautiful fish the chef had prepared for her. It’s hard to understand if the chefs just weren’t there until 1:30pm or the waitresses were super disorganized among them, since there was a long period we didn’t see any food coming out, but nobody seemed to think anyone was hungry or had anywhere to go (despite it being a restaurant in a hotel across from a train station… so logically people often have a train to catch. ) In any case too bad that what should have been a lovely dining experience was spoiled by a mad rush to pay and get to the station.

This is the best food I ate this year, totally passed there unexpectedly and had the best food experience ever for a very good price! Texture, rich tastes together, certainly an highly educated chef! Thanks!

François and his staff, as well as the attached restaurant staff were simply the best.

Food was lovely .. had a what I can only call a bucket of mussels they were so nice but couldn't finish them as yhere were too many .

Wir waren bei unserem Aufenthalt in Orange zweimal im Bistrot Marius essen und waren jedes Mal sehr zufrieden. Die Speisen waren sehr schmackhaft, das Fleisch war von guter Qualität. Besonders zu erwähnen ist der wunderbare Humor des Chefs, wodurch man sich wirklich willkommen fühlte. Der gesamte Service war sehr gut. Es waren zwei sehr schöne Abende im Bistrot Marius.
