4.7 stars. We happened upon this little cafe at Happy Hour. Their peach sangria is on point! I had a long drive later that evening and was not planning on drinking but the peach sangria was delicious! I had two. The fried fish sandwich with za’atar fries was large portioned, reasonably priced and good (not greasy). The Middle Eastern Turkey II was also very good. The falafels were pretty good, moist and not dense. Lots of vegetarian choices. The staff is friendly. The prices are extremely reasonable for Manhattan. 4/2024.

Delicious Mediterranean cuisine with a good variety of vegan options. The soup was fantastic it was flavorful, hot, fresh it warmed my soul. The restaurant is clean,the prices are reasonable, food is good quality. I highly recommend this place. Good for dine in or take out.

I just had lunch here with my family. It’s so nice to find a restaurant with reasonable prices, a wide variety of menu options and a friendly and accommodating staff. I will definitely be coming back. Everything was yummy, cash discount too! 😎

We order pick up at least once/week and are never let down. There's something on the menu for everyone. I recently discovered the fish sandwich (fried fish on a brioche-type roll with Greek yogurt tartar sauce) and it's the best fried fish sandwich I've had in a long time. Salads are great. Soups are very good. Any/all of the mediterranean style food is top notch.

RUN !!! i'm not even lying the food is so delish and the service was so good. once u come here you'd want to come back right away. i ordered the chicken schnitzel sandwich with a country tomato soup. also the inside was so gorgtastic beautiful. the girl with the brown hair and pinkish red highlights was soo nice. the boy that brought out our food was also super nice. overall i really love this place cause the food is so amazing and the service was a 10/10 😍😍 also for the pic i took a bite then took the photo lol

this is such a cozy and inexpensive but tasty place to grab lunch! abundant vegan/vegetarian options. I recommend the vegan schnitzel and the vegetable lentil soup. There are also abundant drinks - lemonade, iced tea, coffee! and pastries. I highly recommend you to eat here, especially if you’re close to Penn Station and looking for a quick bite to eat before or after travel.

Our group ordered a combination of salads and sandwiches and we all really enjoyed the food. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Lots of menu options, including vegetarian options. I’d highly recommend.

This place slays hard. The owner is nice and the food is great and really consistent. Vibes are good but it gets busy during lunch so don't come if you're in a rush unless you order ahead.

This place deserves 5 stars alone just for serving a filling lunch in Manhattan for under $10. Add the fact this is some of the tastiest Mediterranean sandwiches I've had and I would give it 6 stars if I could. I opted for the Sabih, in a pita ($9.5) (Hummus, sautéed eggplant, hard-boiled egg, Middle Eastern chopped salad, and pickles. Optional: spicy.) and it was AMAZING! It was so filling I could only eat half, to top it off one of the staff gave us some complimentary brownie bites. The service is stellar, quick, friendly and efficient, exactly what I want during a work lunch. They have 3 locations in Manhattan (I think) definitely give it a try :)

I stopped in to Bite to grab a bite, and I have mixed feelings. I ordered a Prosciutto Panini, and I waited. Bite needs a good cleaning. The aroma emanating from the basement was unpleasant to say the least. My sandwich arrived about fifteen minutes after I place my order. The Sundried Tomato did not work with the Prosciutto and Mozzarella. I think that if I return I will ask for the sandwich not to be pressed, and fresh Tomato instead. My bill with a bottle of water was $14. Thank U next!

Now able to get back to Bite for lunches and I have to say it's great to see some of the old staff members still there! The food is still great and the prices are reasonable. Fantastic spot.

Last week I had an amazingly rich & flavorful vegan zesty lemon & coconut cake. The lemon tastes like Spring & the coconut reminds me of summer, a fresh & yummy combination, vibrantly delicious. You're in for a real treat if you're lucky enough to go to this Bite location when this moist dense cake is available. The soups here taste like homemade, slow-simmered with high-quality ingredients. Super fresh sandwiches are always delicious. fyi: on some, let them know how spicy you like it Have been to all locations each has a very cool vibe. The East 14th St location is where I find myself most often.

I don't understand how it takes 30 min to make a sandwich. I came in here to get a quick sandwich, and I was starving, so with that combo I was pretty annoyed. I ordered the sabih sandwich. the presentation was pretty, but the eggplant was really oily and it was over salted. I didn't mention it to the staff because I didn't have the time to wait for a replacement. I think they may be understaffed?

Great casual spot with affordable prices and even a few drink options! Highly recommend the red and white sangrias and the Mediterranean Schnitzel sandwich ($11.25). It was loaded with chicken, which was freshly fried so super crispy. The Sabih ($9.50) was good, but a little bland. Service was quick and friendly and there's plenty of seating inside.

It is my fav go to lunch spot! The staff is friendly and professional. The sandwiches are tasty! I always go for the soup and sandwich combo! Many people eat in but it is delicious to go as well! My fav is the chicken schnitzel sandwich with the orange secret sauce!!! I like ask for more on the side!! I have tried the tuna salad sandwich and others but the chicken schnitzel is king!!! I had also had the soups and it isn't really like anything spectacular!

Owner (or probably manager not sure what he is) is lovely and the food is great. However, cashier at the front ruined my experience. Usually my order gets taken by the ginger haired guy. He is super nice and polite and seeing him is a pleasure (very hard worker). However, the young lady who is also a cashier with black hair, wore it in a bun when I seen her and had a grey shirt, kinda short, has the nastiest attitude and is so unkind and rude. I politely greeted her and asked her a question about the food. She was brushing me off and making facial gestures as if she was annoyed. Granted, it was rush hour, but she didn't approach the other guests with this behavior, only me, the only woman of color at that moment. She had rude remarks like "huh" "what" "mmm-k" while I placed my orders with rude facial gestures. Honestly upset me the whole time. Another guy came in and placed his order, he was also a man of color. He pointed to the menu because he couldn't pronounce the name but tried his best and she gave him the same rude remarks and facial gestures she did with me! But not to the white people... Please find new cashiers that are willing to be unbiased and polite. Just because people need help and can't communicate the way you do doesn't mean that gives you the right to be rude! Be patient.

By far my favorite takeout spot. I've ordered bite via Uber eats an embarrassing amount of times (more than I'd like to admit). However this time I decided to actually sit and enjoy my meal. Usually my go to when ordering is the split pea soup, Mediterranean salad with cheese or chicken schnitzel and the panko encrusted cauliflower. It's funny how I haven't gotten sick of it. The quality and taste is so consistent every time and you can taste how fresh it is. Given that it is all made in house it's reasonably healthy and guilt free but also tastes so amazing. This time when eating at the restaurant, I ordered the breakfast plate which is essentially a feta and cheese omelette with pita, salad and a variety of dips (babaganoush, hummus and labne). Really hit the spot. I really enjoyed the variety of items in this meal. Their pita bread is always so soft and fresh I can't get enough of it. They have a few different locations across the city. Would highly recommend trying out bite!

The food is great but they are AWFUL at delivering. They forget to send drivers out, they give the wrong orders all the time. It's so frustrating because there are such limited places to order healthy and fresh food for lunch. I've given this place so many chances but they need to step it up. The order is literally written out for you My soup was wrong and I asked for no rice...they wrote "no rice" on my incorrect soup...for there to be rice inside (:

This is my favorite place near my studio to go for lunch or breakfast. I love to get the Thai Coconut Soup!! It hits the spot every time. Today I tried the organic egg sandwich and the brioche was so soft and yummy!! It was the best egg sandwich I've ever had!! I added swiss cheese. I love the vibe here, artwork and mosaic skateboards on the wall, chill music, love this place! The service is fast and Ray and the guys take great care of me. It's super affordable as well!

First time trying chicken schnitzel and it was exactly what I needed. Great decor and limited seating for a smaller shop but I could watch myself eat in the mirror. Lunchtime may be busy but they have a whiteboard menu so large I couldn't figure out what I wanted even after waiting 10 minutes in line. Luckily they have combo options(!) - at a reasonable price too. Great sandwich bread and fresh ingredients while the soup was hearty and filling. They seem to have great vegetarian options too and I wouldn't mind coming back to try something new. They make things their own way and I'm all for it.

Soup and sandwich- lentil and falafel was a perfect lunch. Floor as one person mentioned very cool. Good selection of food and beverages including beer and wine. The freshest food - we were not expecting it to be this good! Will be back.

Bite is phenomenal and one of the best bang for your buck eateries in NYC. Sandwiches are fresh and flavorful; the menu is so varied that I sometimes have trouble choosing! But their half and half option (half panini half sandwich) is really great. I had half of the turkey brie sandwich and half of the chicken mozz panini. 2 sandwiches for 24 bucks. Better than most options in NYC. I wish there was a bite in Midtown!

My to go place for a casual meal in town! Food is amazing (schnitzel is my favorite) and there is a large variety of dishes in the menu including vegetarian and vegan. It's a nice place to come solo, or with a small group for a relaxed, casual dine.

Ordered the chicken schnitzel sandwich, which took a crazy long time in the making... Although the restaurant seemed not to be crowded clearly they were short staffed. But it was one thing that impressed me the most -- just after I ordered my food a group of white men got to the restaurant and the employees rushed to get their food ready... to all of them... they then apologized to them for the extra delay, and in compensation they even gave them free cookies... I felt so discriminated it was like I was a second tier costumer or like if my money was not worth the same Super racists vibes. That being said, food wasn't even that good. Very disappointed

This local sandwich place has good ambiance and great value. I got the mozzarella panini and it was only $11. My total meal was $20 with coffee and tip and service was fast and friendly. Would recommend this place if you need a quick bite for lunch.

Cute shop with delicious healthy food. Don't miss the spicy chicken hummus with pita. So filling I couldn't eat my side salad. But it was yummy the next day great portions & taste

I've been to bite a few times. Everything I've tried has been really delicious and the prices are super reasonable for what you get. Service is always great too. It's an awesome neighborhood place to do some work or get lunch with a friend. If there was one thing I had to complain about, the chairs can make a loud sound when they scrape against the ground, and you may subconsciously feel like people are looking at you annoyedly when you scoot, so don't come if you're a big scooter.

First off, the manager and employees need to work on their professionalism. Went in for lunch and they were talking about how lettuce was thrown in the garbage, call each other the "R" word, and fighting right in front of the customers. As for the food, I got a sandwich on gluten free bread that turned instantly soggy and couldn't be eaten as a sandwich. My salad also came with no dressing. Won't be going back for many reasons.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place with food that was light but filling and we stumbled across this place. She got the combo ( 1/2 panini and small soup) and ordered the fresh mozzarella panini and the country tomato soup. I ordered the chicken schnitzel salad and the spicy black bean soup.Their soups are water based, not creamy. It was all very flavorful. The owner came up to us for a chat and let us try the vegan cookie. Rich and delicious! I would highly recommend this place!

Very good taste and good deal with the combo. Salad was amazing with hummus and roasted eggplant. Pita bread was great warm and puffy and good portion. And good deal for lunch option with just $11.5 price.

I stop in here every time I visit my brother. Really nice variety of food and everything's been solid so far. My favorite is the Greek salad with grilled chicken.

This is a great place to eat great food. I come here every time I visit the city. I've had the falafel sandwich and the mushroom pita sandwich and both were excellent. I tried the vegan banana bread and it was very moist and delicious. The portion sizes are large and the staff and owner are so very nice. Love this place and its tile floor!

Ordered ahead and picked up lunch from this location. Mediterranean salad and Panko-encrusted Mediterranean cauliflower were both incredible - definitely will be back to order those again soon. Next time: I want to try some of the sandwiches. Update 8/2020: Mediterranean Schnitzel sandwich was incredible. Definitely will be getting that again!

I had Bite for lunch during the work week and boy was I surprised. It was great! I got the panini and soup special which is about $11 or $12. The panini was great and flavorful. The soup was okay but lacked a little on the flavor side. I added a little cheese and cracked black pepper and fixed that problem quickly. Overall it was a quick and satisfying meal for a super decent price considering the area. Would I come back? Absolutely! I can't wait to try more items. Would I recommend it to a coworker? Yes!

I've never heard of this place somehow, but may have just found one of my favorite new casual lunch spots when working from the city! Walking here, I complained about my bad eating habits while I'd been on vacation the past few weeks and swore I was going to get a salad. Although they had so many yummy looking salads, I can truly and honestly never ever pass up shakshooka. I love it so much. If you do too, you'll love the shakshooka here at Bite. It was a good portion for lunch, left me full but not uncomfortably full. It had a tiny little salad on the side which I wish was a bit bigger. Nothing I will whine about because my dish was $9... how do you beat that?? It seems like this place is authentic fast casual Mediterranean foods (my friend got chicken schnitzel, they have pitas and shepard salads) and I am here for it. I would make sure you got what you paid for because we didn't realize until after we ate that we never got the fries we ordered. Not a big deal as it was $5 and when we told them they gave us a refund for the fries. Cannot wait to come back.

Bite has an extensive menu with every and any sort of option that one could want from lunch. The menu has a huge variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, grilled cheeses plus combos to mix and match both. There's even shakshuka and spinach pie! Most items on the menu have a mediterranean influence (Israeli salads, chicken schnitzel, pita, feta grilled cheese, etc). All of the menu items sound so delicious that I had a tough time choosing! I went with a chicken schnitzel sandwich which came in a pita with Israeli salad and hummus. The flavor of the sandwich was absolutely delicious. The schnitzel was thin, crispy and perfectly golden fried. The sandwich also came with a massive portion of chicken. For $9 I think it's a really good value. Though the sandwich was tasty it wasn't executed as well as it could have been, so it was incredibly sloppy and hard to eat. There was also a very small portion of the salad. I ended up having to fork and knife it, so maybe next time I'd go with the platter. They also forgot to bring us out our order of fries which was a little annoying. That's the only reason I'm deducting a star -- otherwise I was very happy with the quality and flavor of my food. I was drooling over nearly every option of the menu, and I love how cute and cozy the space is. I'll certainly be back in for lunch.

I've been eating at Bite for the better part of the last 15 years, which is a crazy thing for me to say in my young life. It all started at the 14th street location in 2005 when I had my very first panini. As I took bite after bite of that perfectly toasted bread giving way to melted mozzarella and prosciutto I wondered what witchcraft produced such a delectable treat. Until then, I thought sandwiches were made with white bread and bologna. Bite became the place I hung out at after school, and over the years I worked my way through the whole menu. One of my favorite orders is the sabih sandwich, which you can ask for toasted and extra spicy. They do something magical with their eggplant because it has me thinking about that eggplant for days. I also really love the Mallawach and Mediterranean salad. The portions are huge and you can get a filling meal for under $10. For Manhattan, that is just bananas. I was so excited when this location opened up near my office, and am happy to report the quality and hospitality remain high. The owner frequently stops by and will throw in a free cookie here and there, which is a big plus because their cookies are fantastic. By day it's a casual cafe featuring beautiful art from various artists. By night the space transforms into a cozy bistro and sometimes they even have live music. This place is like a chameleon in that way-- ideal for dates, solo lunches, and after school hangouts alike. My teenage self and my full fledged adult self both approve.

I was on the hunt for a new lunch spot and stumbled upon Bite. Its near my office and had some pretty great reviews so I figured I would try. I went ahead and ordered online, mainly because I hate waiting in lunch crowds. Glad I did! As soon as I walked in, it was packed to the max. I took it as a great sign but also had no idea where I was supposed to go to pick up my food. I wiggled my way to the bar and someone noticed me looking like a lost puppy and knew I was there for a pick up. As soon as I go the bag, I was shocked at the weight. Oh, this was a REAL sandwich. I had the grilled chicken panini and it was so yummy. super flavorful and dripping with goodness. I highly suggest you first prepare for this sandwich by having a stack of napkins in reach. It was a little messy, but it was totally worth it. They have found a new customer in me.

aaaaahhhhhh, at long last a decent falafel. This neighborhood suffered a great loos when the place on 23rd and 7th closed during C19. Bite is the great successor. Delicious flavorful falafel salad with matbucha, hummus, on a nice pile of fresh greens and slightly thinned tahini. I'd like the falafel nuggets cooked a bit longer, but they were fine as they were. Nice portion for the price. With a fresh baked fluffy pita. I will ask next time if they have a ww one. With adult utensils. Ya know, metal, so's they don't break halfway through the meal. Good mango banana smoothie. Friendly people, fast service at busy lunchtime. Clean inside. Indoor tables for about 20.

Everything about my meal deserved every single bite at Bite! I work right around the corner from Bite so it's been my to go spot for lunch when I need to buy The cafe itself is small but had seating and I found when I got there Seats became available quickly as most customers at that lunch hour were heading back to their offices. You walk up to the counter give your name and the they bring your order for you. There's also water available that you can take for yourself. I had the chicken Schitnzel platter with fries and salad. Tasted very delicious and oh so yummy. Do check this spot out in the Flatiron area of NYC you won't regret it!!!!! I will definitely be back. Oh and one more note! This spot has some lovely paintings on their walls from various artists that are for sale as well! Which I found was great to help upcoming artists!!!!

Holy moly this place was good. I ordered with a bunch of my coworkers the other day and first of all, the sandwiches are super cheap for what they are. Lunch in NYC for $8? Great. GOOD lunch in NYC for $8? Absolutely unheard of. I ordered the Black Forest ham panini with Provolone, sauteed balsamic onions, chopped pickle, jalapeno and smoked peppery mayo. It was one of the best sandwiches I can remember having. I was starving and was worried the sandwich alone wasn't going to be super filling so I also ordered a bag of chips that I didn't even end up touching because the sandwich completely satiated me. Everyone else ranted and raved about the things they ordered as well. There are lots of tempting choices on the menu. Delivery was fast and reliable - they labeled everything with our names which is always a nice touch. Sandwiches were wrapped well and delivered hot and fresh. All in all, looking forward to ordering again - such a great lunch. Looking forward to trying more on the menu.

I frequently order the Hummus Plate and mezz plate from this place. They give you huge portion with 2 full pita and the price is very good. The dips are all delicious.

I ordered a fresh mozzarella sandwich. The ciabatta bread was stale, and the cheese was sliced cheese they bought from a grocery store. Looked like they had some interesting and potentially good items on the menu, but I'll never know for sure because I likely won't be back.

I was wandering the streets aimlessly trying to photograph some post-election day madness (side note: I didn't) and needed to fill my food box. It was already 3 and didn't wanna spoil my supper so I just needed a quick "bite". (If you stop reading now, I completely understand) Found this spot and the street was closed off so outside dining was a go. Got the Black Forest ham panini and it did the job. I especially enjoyed the pickled jalapeños because who doesn't like to add a lil spice to their life. The chipotle Mayo got me so excited that I got some on my mask and now I just remembered I have to put some shout on it. Hopefully it's not a permanent stain because if it is, I'm gonna be pissed.

Bite is just AMAZING. The food is so tasty, fresh, and creative. It's an interesting, Mediterranean style cafe with unique food that you can't really find anywhere else. My go-to is the chicken panini...so I ordered two LOL (one to eat there and one to-go). Their salad is also really hearty and filling with unique add-ins and dressing. I also ordered from the specials menu and went for a Mediterranean grilled cheese (feta, ricotta, olives, tomato, etc.) which came with and amazing tomato soup. You also have to try the traditional Malawakh! It's like a doughy crepe with sauce and salad. Very simple but delicious Free coffee (hot or iced) when you check in!!! Love this place!

Another solid location to go along with their sister spot on East 14th Street. I was happy to stumble upon this one not too long ago and can safely say their sandwich and soup options were just as good as I remembered The vegetable split pea soup served up with bread to dip and soak, along with my fave sandwich here - Exotic Tuna (Curried tuna with golden raisins, red cabbage, carrots, field greens, and plum tomatoes) - were pretty much the same as I had in the other location. Just as tasty. That damn well hit the spot and satisfied my hangry-ness! Along with fair prices, friendly service, and a clean casual dining area this is a must try for lunch.

I was looking for a quick late lunch, and I came here after seeing by Chloe next door packed. The menu is very creative there were a ton of options to satisfy every appetite and palate. I got a combo with half vegetarian lentil soup and half salami panini. The soup was packed with different types of veggies, and it was surprisingly very filling! The panini was amazing too--the bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It seems like most items are under $10, which makes this a great place for a healthy, delicious lunch.

I love Bite! Started going to their 14th street location, I prefer this spacious location in Chelsea. I have been going here for a couple of years, since I was eating meat, and now as a vegetarian, which is nice they have options for both times in my life, lol. My previous go-to was Green Thai Coconut Curry with chicken or the Grilled Chicken Panini combo (either with soup or salad). Now my favorite is the vegan schnitzel, which I sometimes think about automatically when I'm in the area, lol. I will also get this sandwich either, in it's entirety, with a combo of soup or salad. Their salads are very refreshing so depending on the weather I will get salad or soup. The vegan schnitzel comes with chipotle mayo, and pickle in the sandwich. SOOO yummy. I often will dip the sandwich in usually a mix of lentil/tomato soup or with the salad dressing (balsamic vingerette). What's great is there is a little something for everyone here. Their seasoned fries are yummy and large enough to share. I've been for breakfast as well, I order ahead with Ritual (app) and get the Organic egg sandwich with fresh mozzarella, very hearty and satisfying with chipotle mayo (see a pattern :P ). My only knock would be that they don't need the volume on their music playing to be too loud as sound of customers music make it overly loud. Speaking of sound! they also have live music which I've only once caught the end of, gotta check it out more. Yeah I'm a fan and recommend.

This is the perfect place for vegetarians to bring their meat loving friends! They have a pretty extensive menu with lots of tempting options for all diets. I loved that the veggie options were unique and varied. I tried the vegan schnitzel, which was a breaded and fried cutlet of mystery veggies on a super crispy roll with creamy sauce and greens to top it off. The sandwich was indulgent and satisfied my cravings for fried comfort food - not easy if you're avoiding animal products! My friend tried the crepe, which was pretty big and looked great. The restaurant was packed during lunch, but we were able to get seats at the bar. I wouldn't come back for a sit down meal, at least not at such a busy time. It looks like they have an efficient set up for online ordering and pick up, though, so this will probably become my go to spot for workday takeout.

I really wanted to like this place. Opted to come here for a healthy meal. Chose this place over By Chloe, which is next door because of the price difference. I ordered a hummus plate with sautéed mushrooms. The hummus was fine but the mushrooms ruined it. Not only was the mushroom seemingly out of a can and flavorless. It was watery and didn't look sautéed at all. I can deal with that and enjoy the hummus but the water from the mushrooms made the whole plate unappetizing. The coffee was blah. Literally worse than 7-11 coffee. People seem to enjoy the place a lot. I guess I chose the wrong dish.

First impressions last a lifetime. Or maybe a few seasons. I'd first been introduced to Bite at their 14th street location several years back. It always had a somewhat grimy feel to it BUT they had an A food grade, so I tried them out. Fell in love with their Sabih sandwich which is eggplant, boiled egg and other phenomenal things. I finally stopped going when I saw a Grade Pending that turned into a B or lower, can't recall. But, it was enough to confirm the grimy feeling perhaps was real. But enough about them. Their sister location at 23rd is quite the improvement. Open space, bright, spotless, new fixtures, and inviting. I was actually heading to my vegan friend next door as I typically do, but stopped in my tracks and decided to give Bite another try. 4 years had passed and this was an entirely new and visibly improved location. I'd also read a review the night before that said they had vegan options. I walked in and scanned the menu and saw several. The cashier was so bubbly and helpful and even came by after I received my food to warn me that the sauce had honey--but no worries, I'm not THAT vegan. But it was thoughtful. Pretty much every employee I interacted with was just as helpful and pleasant. I'll definitely be back.
