I haven’t gone out of my way to write a review in a while, but this place was so good! The place is unassuming, so I was really surprised by the quality of the food and drinks here. I had a cardamom latte (yum!!) a lavender lemonade (YUM!!) and a chilaquiles breakfast burrito (YUM YUM YUM) Burrito was huge, very flavorful, well done. Service was quick and everyone was really friendly. If I’m ever in the neighborhood again, I’ll be back!

My mom lives in the neighborhood. Have driven by this place and never knew until I came across the daughter’s Instagram page. The mother runs the place with catering being the focus. I took my mother and we were surprised by the bright ambiance with a neighborhood feel. It was packed with people who clearly knew about this place waaaay better than I. Everything from other people’s plates to drinks were really floral and pretty looking like the photos. The coconut shrimp was a great way to start. It was crunchy batter that stood up to the sweet chili, fish sauce, cilantro, lime dressing. I sipped the sauce after to figure out the flavors. Chinese chicken salad is crunchy and so familiar flavors yet looks so faaaaancy. The Cajun aioli on the fries were a bit bold but the sandwich was spot on. Enjoyed everything about this little gem in Lomita. Mom approved. She’s been recommending it to all her friends ever since!

Excellent service & even better tasting & flavorful food. The dishes are pleasantly prepared and the hazelnut latte is yummy. Highly recommend this place, don't just drive by, stop by.... you won't regret it, satisfaction guaranteed 😋 Extremely clean dining area, both inside & out. Only drawbacks would have to be small parking lot & not complete full service(you come in, pick-up menu; sit down look over menu then get up and go to register & order🙄

This review reflects on months of customer service—planning and executing my wedding June 2023. My wife and I, and our out-of-state guests, enjoyed their food and service so much! My wife and I are actually coming back to their cafe to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Variables to Consider: We had about 80 adults-only to feed including handful of vegetarians and a couple gluten-free guests. We opted for dessert bar over a cake. We opted to hire a separate vendor for bartending, but I’m sure B&B would have done a great job. Pros -Woman-owned, family business -They grow their own produce and edible flowers -Thorough communication over email, phone, and in person -Pulled out some great showstoppers at their tasting event after we confirmed booking -Creativity with their displays -Adaptability to changes! As long as we locked by their reasonable deadline -Their enthusiasm for all things food and experiences -Great to accommodate special diets -They’re on a Preferred Vendor List for Marvimon Productions so no venting process required for the venue Cons -Wish they were closer to the heart of LA 😅

Bites and Bashes was such a pleasure to work with. We fell in love with Crystal and Julie at our first tasting, and even more so loved the food they had prepared. Not only was the food incredible, it was also beautifully displayed. The flavors were complex and interesting, and presented on beautiful service ware and topped with edible flowers which made a breathtaking spread of food. Our guests were blown away by how good the food was, crowd favorites were the vegan gluten free Vietnamese glass noodles, which came in a small Chinese food to-go box, the pulled pork sliders with slaw, candied bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. And the wait staff were all professional and so nice! We also hired our bartenders through Bites and Bashes and they were excellent. Overall, they ensured our experience was easy, enjoyable, and the final result was perfect. And they’re prices were so much better than all the other caterers we researched. I would recommend Bites and Bashes for any event in a heartbeat!

Wanting breakfast led me straight to Bites & Bashes, I was ready and excited because I knew this place was going to make my toes wiggle and it did lol. We ordered the All American which was pancakes, bacon and eggs with cheese. I omitted the bacon in hopes of being able to sub but that wasn't an option unfortunately. We also ordered the Mediterranean Omelet, an iced Rose Latte and a Horchata shaken espresso (only comes iced). My apologies I totally forgot to take pictures of our order because we devoured this breakfast without thought, was it good??? Absolutely!!. The pancakes were moist and fluffy, the cheese eggs were soft, buttery and scrambled to perfection. The Mediterranean omelet was super good and it came with tater tots. I loved the mix of the orange and yellow tomatoes, the feta was great( feta makes life betta), the tater tots were just ok.. just your regular unseasoned tots. Now, the coffee.. the Horchata was super delicious!! Definitely recommend, the only thing I would change is the sweetness. I would request more of the Horchata to give me more sweetness, but it was still very delicious. The Rose Latte was disappointing, the rose syrup used had a strong not so pleasant after taste which overshadowed the coffee and made the drink taste funny overall so I only had one sip and couldn't drink the rest unfortunately and it sucked because I was really looking forward to the rose latte. Customer Service, was amazing!! The young lady was very helpful and patient due to it being our first time. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations for the future. Parking, there's street parking available and we didn't have an issue finding a spot right out front. The inside set up is so cute and cozy, there's space to work, study or meet up with friends for a quick bite. There's so much on this menu that I want to explore and I will definitely be back. If you're near the Lomita area swing by bites and bashes.

Bites and Bashes catered our daughter’s mitzvah this past weekend. The food was absolutely delicious, the presentation was stunning and all of our guests felt very well taken care of. They are a dream to work with, can’t recommend more highly!

I am an LA-based event planner for that focuses on high-end events. I have worked with a wide variety of catering companies, but Bites & Bashes is next level. The first time I connected with Bites & Bashes they worked with me to provide a quick turnaround and blew us out of the water in terms of quality of the food and service. Luckily they had the availability to cater a last minute internal corporate reception for 75 people where they provided the most delicious passed hors d'oeuvres. In addition, we added the antipasto (picture below) which was a huge hit and incredibly stunning. The flowers came from the Chef Julie's garden which added to the magic. The most recent event that Bites & Bashes catered was for our office holiday party at the Natural History Museum for about ~200 attendees. They were extremely patient and kind during the planning process as we had to build out an entire kitchen outside of the venue. Crystal (president) was specifically able to figure out ways to make our dream menu come to life even with all of the venue's restrictions (quick set-up/load-in times, lack of power, etc.). The Bites & Bashes team is creative and innovative. If you have a food or beverage idea for an event they will take it and make it 10x better than you could have imagined. For our holiday party, they made and served: Passed Appetizers/ Hors d'oeuvres: Korean short rib tacos, jalapeno mac 'n' cheese bites, roasted butternut squash hummus on cucumber cups, chicken corn dogs, and crispy coconut shrimp Interactive Food Stations: Pasta Bar, Live Action Carving Station, Sushi Bar, French Fry Bar, and a Late Night Taco Station Drinks: festive cocktails - Naughty or Nice (margarita) and The Grinch (vodka, cucumber, pineapple, basil, lime), and an interactive old-fashioned station If you are looking for good food, gorgeous presentation, AND fabulous service, than Bites & Bashes needed at your next personal celebration or corporate event. I cannot recommend Bites & Bashes enough!
