I’m from out of town and wanted to grab some cake or cupcakes for my husbands birthday. Some friends and I walked over to Bittersweet Confections and took in all the delish smells ! The place was clean, they offered water & everything looked amazing. We had the best service and everyone we interacted with was so kind!! These cupcakes we had were AMAZING!!! My friends got a scone and a brownie and they said they were so good as well! I love that they had some local jewelry, books, and other cute things as well. I picked up a child’s book for my daughter, she will love it! They also had cake toppers and candles with a match book, which is a great touch! I highly recommend checking this place out. Thank you so much!!

I am a self-proclaimed cake connoisseur and this bakery exceeds expectations! I love their assortment but specifically their funfetti flavor. I have purchased cupcakes many times and went for a larger cake a few months ago. Whatever your flavor, they have it and will make it delicious!

Ordered Bittersweet Confections signature bittersweet cake for our wedding and it did not disappoint! We were warned that it was very rich. Well, it was rich, and decadent, and very moist. All our guests couldn’t stop raving about how wonderful the cake was. They were amazed at how wonderful it was. They enjoyed the other tarts and desserts they provided, but, the bittersweet cake was the show stopper. Thanks Bittesweet Confections for making our wedding cake and desserts!

Had adorable experience visiting Bittersweet Confections during my vacation trip to NOLA. I read great reviews and happen to walk down on Christmas Eve to get a cake for my wife’s birthday. The experience and satisfaction exceeded my expectations and couldn’t thank enough for the wonderful gesture from the time I greeted and taking care of my need in offering candle and matches. Couldn’t be more merrier during the Christmas season. The store was so well organized and esthetic.

I love the Yelp events where you have week to take part. Visited one Friday during lunch and enjoyed the Classic Breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. The plate did not disappoint as I sat and enjoy my breakfast while finishing up some last minute work. I purchased some freshly squeezed satsuma juice and two petit fours to take along with my complimentary cupcake. Let me just say, those petit fours were the best from a bakery I have ever had. I am not a sweets fan, but these had just the right amount of sweetness, they were moist and I loved the size of them. This is a great spot to come grab lunch and finish up some work, or catch up with friends. There is plenty seating inside, as well as some seating outside. Located downtown, there is only street parking, but if you are in the area, stop in for a sweet treat.

The drinks were fabulous!!!!! My friend got a cake for her birthday and it was amazing taste. I got the breakfast wrap, the biscuit bacon and the croissant bacon. It was delicious and yummy and so so fulfilling. We got three alcohols and it was so tasty !!! I love this space and it was def a spot I will go again. The worker was great service ! def stop by.

I purchased some German chocolate cupcakes for my husband’s birthday yesterday. He was very impressed with the taste and is a harsh critic. The staff worked with me on ordering at the last minute and pick up. They were very accommodating and flexible. I also enjoyed the lavender violet lemonade Arnold Palmer I ordered while I waited for the cupcakes to be retrieved. Thanks so much! I will definitely purchase items again in the future.

This is what perfection is all about. We invited Bittersweet Confections to be our gift to our clients. Bittersweet make 17 King Cakes for us. They were Gorgeous and Delicious. HUGE shout out to Vanessa and Cheryl. Vanessa's fast responses even during Mardi Gras week, set her above all the companies I reached out to. Then Cheryl (owner) sealed the deal by helping answering questions and concerns. Great comradery you two!!!

This place is a true gem. It is located conveniently in the Warehouse District, which is walking distance to the central business district or even the French quarter if you're motivated. Very safe area. The breakfast is absolutely amazing! I was first introduced to this place through a Yelp Event, and knew I had to come back. I got the classic breakfast with toast, sausage, and Gouda cheese in my grits. The toast is made in house and it's AMAZING. Get the Gouda cheese in the grits, TRUST ME! Then I got the Nutella muffin and omg it was absolutely perfect! It was well balanced and not overly sweet. Allow them to warm it because it makes the outside nice and crispy and the perfect muffin, honestly. You order your meal and pay for it right away, and if you dine in, they will call your name to get the meal. I love this style of service because it makes it quick if you need to be in and out. The inside is nice and spacious and perfect for groups, or if you are by yourself they have barstool window seating or some barstool seats at the counter. The inside is versatile enough to accommodate anyone honestly. They also have 2-3 tables outside if you want to dine outside. I met Avery, who is the operations manager for this business. This is her family's business and that absolutely warms my heart. I love supporting local businesses! This place is great all around and will definitely look to buy a cake from here!

A-MAZ-ING cafe menu! Just what I was looking for in terms of healthy, light but filling lunch. Their BLT with avocado spread and goat cheese was superb! Yum is all I can really say.

The cheesecake crème brûlée is to die for. The strawberry moose was also outstanding! You can't go wrong with their treats!

The crème brûlée cheesecake is to die for. We came for the confections and they did not disappoint. Exceptional food, and the waiters were nice. It is a little confusing getting here, since they share and entrance with NFP, but simple enough.

The barista serves high-quality coffee and he's been there for years. The owner started this business from scratch around 20 years ago, and she does a phenomenal job, delivering all her cakes personally. The staff are always cheerful andfriendly. The breakfast items are tasty and healthy. And there is ice cream made by creole creamery and the chocolates are divine. And they have free wifi!

I stopped by Bittersweet Confections around 8:30am on a Friday after taking a yoga class next door. It's a quite spacious cafe with impressive displays of model wedding cakes, glass cases of pastries and little French style cakes and tarts, ice cream freezer, etc. Although it's a sweet shop, I saw that they also made savory food, which was exactly what I was looking for. They also made cocktails and coffee drinks. Customer service was great. The server was friendly and simply had a positive attitude. I ordered the breakfast wrap with vegetables. My only critique was I would've wanted more vegetables and less of the potatoes. Other than that, the breakfast wrap was solid. It was flavorful, well seasoned, and satisfying. I also got the strawberry mousse dome to save for later. It had an amazing strawberry flavor, but it was too sweet for me.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere! I will be back for sure. The cupcake was a little dry but tasted great. The breakfast food was on point!

When your flight gets canceled and you get 7 more hours to spend in NOLA you get desserts Yes, with an S. What a selection and everything was very good. Please visit.

Ordered a birthday cake the week of and was DELIGHTED with my choice! So much chocolately goodness packed into each bite, especially when you add the truffles on top. I originally asked for decor but they talked me into something more simple based on the price point I was looking for - which I appreciated! This was a pretty expensive cake, but not surprising for the quality.

A newly expanded spot that looks beautiful. Happy this place continues to do well. The people are so nice and friendly. It offers great coffees. Breakfast items and of course wonderful and tasty pastries and cakes. Its location is so cool to enjoy the place and what it offers. Enjoy.

I am so disappointment in my birthday cake. It was my 60th & I want something special so I ordered the wedding cake with lemon filling. The cake was so dense & dry. It sad I threw more than half of it away.

Bought a couple of items here.. only thing that was super memorable was their petite fours. Next time I drop by I would probably grab pastries and less bakery items. Seems like enjoyed their breakfast items!

After some thorough research for a bakery near the FQ that would make custom cakes, I chose Bittersweet and am soooooo glad I did. The cakes were incredible (honestly some of the best I've ever had). The almond cake was the group fave btw. Ordering online was easy, prices were good, and when we went to pick them up, we decided to try the avocado toast and petit fours-- also excellent. If you're in the Warehouse district, CBD, or FQ, this is a great place for pastries, desserts and brunch.

Soooo amazing and sooooo delicious. Bittersweet delivered a beautiful funfetti bday cake and 2 dozen chef's choice cupcakes to the Hyatt for me on a short notice. We were able to surprise a colleague at a conference and EVERYONE loved the cakes! Thank you Bittersweet Confections for your extraordinary customer service and super yummy cakes. Oh my goodness, I was looking for a place to get coffee and literally walking by and found it. It's really a bakery and lunch spot, but the cold brew is quite yummy. I had about an hour to kill before my reservation for lunch ands this place was perfect and adorable. I also now know where to come and get lovely pastries in the future

Walked to Bittersweet Confections and saw this and NEEDED it! The brown baby was sooo adorable! Took it back to work and all the women in the office "aweeed" at the baby The king cake itself is cute and unique. I would've never thought of a chocolate frosted king cake. It was absolutely delicious, everyone went back for seconds and we were sad I got a small size haha! Bittersweet Confections has not let me down yet!!

Delicious and beautiful! I worked with Cheryl and Venessa, great customer service. I wanted to surprise my husband with pilot wings on his grooms cake (something he wanted but didn't think it was possible). I ordered a mold off Etsy and had it shipped to their business and it turned out perfect! After the cake was dropped off, there was an accident while setting up that led to the red velvet layer getting messed up. Without hesitation, they came back to the venue and fixed it before guests arrived. I had no idea this happened until after the wedding and am so thankful for them!

Visiting from out of town, happy I found this place for my boyfriends birthday. Website lets you order cakes specifically 3 days in advance without letting you pick any other days... yet I noticed the website says their signature cakes require 6 days notice so there was a bit of contradiction. However pleased that I was able to order my cake by phone with ease and was ready for me when expected.

The king cake can best be described as "life altering delicious. " You'll find yourself recalling events as things that occurred before you first had one of these incredible treats or things that occurred after. One could argue that the chocolate cream cheese version is "not a king cake" as I would. However, I'll still say that it is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. I could go on for hours breaking down all the details that make these king cakes so wonderfully delicious but it's better that you take that adventure for yourself.

A group of us travelled to New Orleans to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday. I needed to order a birthday cake and had no idea where to get one. Yelp to the rescue. Happy to have stumbled upon Bittersweet Confections; it was relatively near where we were staying. They have a pretty good website which made it easy to browse their offerings and place an order for their Bittersweet Cake online in advance. The bakery was not too far from the French Quarter and it was easy to uber there to pick up the cake. We also picked up a small King Cake while there. OMG the Bittersweet Cake was so rich and decadent. Everyone loved it.

We ordered a strawberry shortcake for a 70th birthday party. Called and placed the order on Wednesday and, even though it was outside of their timeframe, they still accommodated us and had the cake ready for Saturday. The cake was absolutely delicious. Slightly pricey but worth it overall. Will be ordering again.

I had read reviews of how they had a lot of little goodies for holiday stocking stuffers/gifts so I walked over to check it out and they didn't have much. A few bags of overpriced holiday chocolate bark ($10 for a few pieces). I decided to get some truffles and when I asked how much they were I was told $2.50 a piece. So I ordered 4 different truffles and the total somehow became $16.50. I inquired how that was possible and they went to ask the manager what the price discrepancy was and I was told it was for the box. $6.50 for a box? while it's a cute little spot it's overpriced.

This place was right down the street from our gym while we were in town and we hit it at least four times during our eight day trip. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. My wife kept going for the NOLA Style Roast Beef Debris. I explored the menu and everything was amazing. This place set the standard for service and quality for our trip. If you get an opportunity, check them out. You won't regret it.

Same amazing pastries you've grown to love over the years in a newer, larger space, with much more seating available. The entry has moved down the block about 50', meaning you're not sharing the entry with the yoga studio upstairs. In addition to scones, muffins, breads, cookies and the best cinnamon rolls in town (which sell out quickly) they now offer a limited hot breakfast menu. I had the everything bagel sandwich with bacon and cheese, when I found the cinnamon roll of my dreams sadly sold out. The bagel sandwich was good, but tbh, not as good as Panera (and I'm anti-chain), at a much higher price with a longer wait then I've ever encountered at Panera. The only cheese available is a shredded yellow cheddar/jack mix. Not exactly the gourmet offering you'd expect on a $9+ bagel sandwich. Bottom-line, 5-stars for the new, larger space and the pastries that made them famous and 2-3 stars for the new hot breakfast menu. I'll call to be sure they have cinnamon rolls before stopping in next time.

If you looking for the best baked goods and the best homemade breakfast with the crispiest bacon then this is your place. My daughter and I went there on a Saturday to picks up a cake we ordered. The party for my grandson was cancelled due to illness and the owner wrapped the cake for us to be served at a later date. We wanted breakfast but we thought it was too late but not on Saturdays (all day breakfast until 2:00pm). I ordered the classic breakfast and my daughter had the breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint. The bacon was crispy and the grits were delicious.

We went on a Saturday and they had very limited treats available, which we were disappointed about because we were from out of town. We ate breakfast and purchased a couple of treats, which were all good. The only thing I think needs to improve with this place is to offer more treats, since it is a bakery and offer a wait staff to take orders at the customers table, check on the customer and refill their coffee.

Love, love this place. The perfect spot for a peaceful and cozy brunch. And, the pastries are so yummy! The lemon bar with the toasted meringue and the strawberry shortcake are to die for. Both beautiful and delicious. To add, the staff is very friendly and attentive. A definite NOLA go to spot.

HAVE AGAIN: Best chocolate chip scone ever! NOT HAVE AGAIN: Almond croissant was dry and not flavorful.

Came here for breakfast bc it was close to our hotel and was so impressed. It didn't show up on our Google search, we just happened to walk by and it looked good. We got classic breakfast food and it was all perfectly cooked. The pastries/sweets look delicious but we only came for breakfast. Coffee was also great. Not super crowded on a Friday morning, lots of room to spread out, and everyone was nice! They use uncooked pasta as coffee stirrers, which I thought was a great alternative to plastic. Would definitely come here again.

Wanted to grab a coffee before the day's exploration when our group of 4 headed over. Stepped inside and was immediately struck by the fresh pastries. BUT THEN, I zeroed in on the breakfast menu and spotted the NOLA Hash. I had to have it. I started with a latte to await my breakfast (they do have breakfast cocktails: Bloody Mary, Mimosa, Irish Coffee, etc). Its on the smaller side and it was fairly busy, but we were able to find a table for 4. Food took a little longer than expected. Worth the wait? YES! NOLA Hash-eggs, potatoes, peppers, Andouille. I ended up inhaling and eating the whole thing. So much for sharing. After coffee and breakfast, we were ready for whatever came our way.

I was looking for some take out breakfast near our hotel and this came up. I had really excellent biscuits in gravy. The flavor was really savory with a bit of spice. My hubby enjoyed his gumbo. I had a coffee and it was ok. There was also a fruit cup we got for the kids. Don't hesitate to try this bakery for breakfast whether to eat casually inside or take out.

Luckily, our lead had checked Yelp out and found us somewhere that "looked unique" to her. Bam! Bittersweet Confections we arrived. I can't speak to the taste of their cupcakes and desserts. They looked amazing, but it was breakfast and being in town for a wedding I knew I'd be eating 'unhealthy' later. Their breakfast menu is short but still had a decision to make from a few options. The cashier took plenty of time with me to spell out pros and cons. I landed on the some of the best Avocado Toast I've ever had. Sweet with a hint of spice and just the right portion. Value was spot on! I planned to return for more, but alas this memory will have to keep me until my next trip back to Nola!

This was the only bakery which accepted our order only 24 hours before we needed the cake (despite having over 10 wedding orders the same day). Props to Vanessa for making it happen! We ordered a 8 inch funfetti cake for a birthday party. This flavor is a favorite of the birthday girl; she claims she's tried this flavor from possibly every single vendor - commercial and mom-and-pop alike. Her exact words were, "This is the most beautiful and most delicious cake I've ever gotten for my birthday". Don't just take her word for it - she even went back for seconds! As someone who doesn't like too much sugar or flour in each bite of cake (as is common in store-bought, mass-produced cakes), I absolutely enjoyed each and every bite of this cake without any guilt whatsoever. Each bite was so moist and fluffy and was complemented by the perfect amount of icing in each bite. It didn't need any sips of liquid in between, like cake usually does. It never got overly sweet at any point; but it did get sad when I took my last bite. Next time I need a cake for a special occasion, I'm calling Bittersweet Confections.

5 stars for sure! This was my second visit to Bittersweet Confections and definitely won't be my last. I stopped in for their basil chicken salad and to pick up some sweets for my sweet, seeing that Valentine's day is tomorrow. The chicken salad was beyond good. It's made with chunks of tender white meat chicken, and the basil sends this dish it into orbit. The side crostini are such a winning complement. As I mentioned, I was there for sugary goodness too, so I picked up a bag of salted dark chocolate and an individual flourless chocolate cake. The desserts are not only delicious; they're also beautiful. Before closing, it's important to note that the atmosphere and service are excellent. The staff is friendly and so helpful. I'll be back to try their pimento cheese sandwich soon.

This cafe delivered for breakfast! We had the breakfast burrito, it was super fresh and the perfect size. Breakfast, snack, or dessert, this place is great.

As I was walking back from the World War II museum here in New Orleans I happen to catch a glimpse of a fantastic little spot nestled on the side of the sidewalk. Easy to miss once but it won't be again! As I entered this place of confections, my eyes immediately zeroed in on the counter containing cakes, cupcakes, lemon bars and other sultry items. My father, who is the king of "2 O'CLOCK DANISH AND COFFEE" would be proud. However it was 3:30pm, but better late than never! There were so much sweetness to choose from my mind spun into a sugar blackout and I went for the Lemon Bar with a Cappuccino for here. The man working the cashier was very nice and even brought me my coffee and silverware. Did he recognize my fame and no fortune or was he just a nice guy? I think the latter. I zeroed in on my target and went for The lemon bar which was amazing! The top of the lemon bar contained a nice soft yet firm Vanilla Meringue. The design as well as the slight browning of the edges made this one sexy Lemon Bar. The top of the lemon bar under the Meringue was nice crunchy yet soft crust protecting the Lemon custard underneath. Yes, I destroyed this beauty in just a few minutes as I watched the flow of admirers streaming in to follow my lead. Everyone was oooh, ahh, and mmm as they too enjoyed all this quaint little spot has to offer. The added plus for you on the New Orleans drinking train (but not on the wagon) is you can get various cocktails to go with your sweets. Now that's SWEET! I stuck to my cappuccino as I had to walk a ways back and needed to definitely find my way back to my hotel to get ready for dinner at K-Pauls. The eating never stops in New Orleans! 5 stars

I live a couple blocks away and I have a group of friends that do breakfast there every Saturday morning. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Great atmosphere. Food very good. I personally recommend the NOLA Hash with the fried egg on top. Sometimes I may add an extra egg or two.

We are on a show called Queen of the South and we had 3 birthdays in the hair and makeup trailer and needed 3 cakes in a jiffy all custom. The cakes are not only stunning they TASTE AMAZING. We had the red velvet cake with a Hawaiian beach theme, a classy almond cake and another red velvet cake! The cake themselves are light, fluffy, not too sweet and moist simultaneously ! The staff is so amazing and courteous. Even stayed open for us to come pick one of them up when we were filming late! Best customer service! 6 stars!!

Had a lovely breakfast here! Nice folks at the counter and coffee station. I had a delicious coffee and a flakey , well laminated croissant. Then followed by the Creole omelette that was just perfect. Can't wait to come back. Food does take a minute, so have a seat and enjoy the calm vibes.

Truly confectionery! Only had the red velvet with cream cheese frosting Twice!!! But beautiful and amazing Thankfully I don't live so close because they have a little coffee shop/bar which is delightful. A true NOLA gem.
