BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

My wife and I stopped by for lunch after church as we had several gift cards to use at BJ’s. We have been to this location a few times. This time around I decided I will leave a review. I’ve always seen BJ’s as a chill spot to hang out with friends or family. They are a casual American restaurant serving a broad menu of comfort foods such as pizza, ribs, pasta, steaks, burgers, etc. they also offer a wide variety of drinks and cocktails. They have 10 TV’s spread throughout the restaurant. They have a fun happy hour menu available Monday-Friday that includes their signature Pizookie! Our server was Randle, and we found him to be very polite and helpful. We ordered their Prime Rib and Sample platter. The prime rib was cooked just the way we like it, but it lacked a lot of flavor. The sample platter was great, except that the sliders barely had any meat in it. Everything else was great such as the wings, mozzarella sticks and the spinach dip. Dug is hands down the best server. His customer service is outstanding—he made us feel genuinely welcomed, and his personality alone is why we keep coming back. The food is great, and Dug always checks in to make sure everything is perfect, which we truly appreciate. He represents the company incredibly well and honestly should be a manager because of how great he is. That kind of service makes all the difference. We’ll definitely continue to be regulars. 😌

We ate at the Mission Valley location on Thursday afternoon. It was 2:00 pm and packed but the wait was only ten minutes. The service was prompt and our waitress was very attentive. The menu is extensive with many different selections at reasonable prices. We have eaten at four different locations and the building differ slightly but the rest is the same. I like the atmosphere in Mission Valley the best. They offer along with regular menu a $13.00 special with seven or more delicious selections which includes dessert of your choice. This is the best value I’ve seen at a premier restaurant in years. The bar is complete with happy hour deals you will see in the menu photos. Parking is free and very plentiful. Handicap accessible and kids are welcome.

Had a event here and the staff were phenomenal! Samantha set it up, and made it super simple, and Joshua executed it to perfection the day of. Servers - Alexandra, Nieve, Alexa all made the day so memorable for my team and I couldn’t be happier. Will definitely have my next event here and couldn’t have went smoother!

Out of all the restaurants, we chose BJ’s for lunch. They don’t offer lunch menu, it’s the same as their all day menu but they have happy hour menu. We got a small personal deep dish pizza, BJ’s Favorite which is like meat lovers. I loved this because it reminds me of Pizza Hut. The Brewhouse Sampler had sliders, choice of wings, mozzarella sticks and artichoke spinach dip. The sliders were dry, the bone in wings were small but decent, the artichoke dip was lacking spinach. Then we got chicken Alfredo, which tasted like the can. Afterwards, I regretted picking this place over the other chains because they don’t have a lunch menu which meant more out of pocket. Their menu is so massive and overwhelming. Crossed this off the books and not coming back.

It’s 1 o’clock after the busy lunch crowd I took photos of how empty this place was. First time at this location. Sat at a booth in the bar area and waited over 10 minutes for someone to visit me even though the tall girl with ponytail, possibly Latina or mixed, pass by my table 2 times. Another guy passed my table. No one greeted me until finally some dude working another section came around. The girl with the ponytail, also tall, took care of the booth in front of me and behind me after I got there. She’s probably one of those waiters that sees one person and says I don’t wanna take that order because my tip won’t be that much so I’ll let someone else take it. ordered the chicken, mashed potatoes and corn, which was middle of the road. Nothing stood out nothing special, but it took over an hour and a half to be served and get my check. I asked to speak to the manager, but once I saw who it was, I realize she look like some ex-Taco Bell employee, which now makes sense why this location has such poor service reviews. For a similar type of price point and $15 at outback steakhouse you get a three course meal with dessert and get better service and atmosphere. I could tell just by looking at the manager that she’s just not gonna have the ability to run a professional well run restaurant, so it makes sense that the food is low quality and the service is even lower.

Only a 30 min wait on a Friday wasn’t bad. Brayan was very nice. Gave us suggestions on drinks and complimented our festive attire. When he came to the table he was Amazing, but was busy at other tables quite often so for how busy they were they should have had another waiter on the floor.

My friends and I regularly go to BJs for happy hour for each other's birthdays. We've always had good service and this time had excellent service from our server Randall. He was super friendly, fun, and attentive. The happy hour food was excellent (as always), good price for all the food and drinks ordered, and all of the staff were great. And for all these reasons we will continue to come back. Thanks Randall!

The staff was amazing, everything came promptly. The managers even came to check on our experience as well! The food was amazing and came out quickly.

Went on a Sunday after church No wait for a table but I sat at the bar. Staff were a little slow to offer a menu and not much interaction during my visit I ordered a mocktail tiki twist. It was ok. They only offered 2 mocktails and both were sweet with a similar flavor profile. I got the pan seared potstickers to eat. They could have been seared a little more as they were a little chewy. But all day HH on Sunday made them $9.99 which is a great deal. They have the $13 lunch special during the week. Parking is lot with lots of room. They have an outside patio. The bar is 1st come They take reservations for the restaurant. HH is bar and patio only

Mediocre food and mediocre service. It can be really slow especially weekends during dinner. -The calamari appetizer was good. -I ordered the the prime rib , came with a salad, 2 sides and a pizookie. The prime rib itself was okay. The pizookie was delicious as always. (Prime rib only available Friday & sat after 4pm and all day Sunday) -my boyfriend ordered the tri tip & baby back rib combo. He said it was ok. Overall, this place does get very busy but I don't see myself coming back here again.

I've had some issues with service here in past years but always have enjoyed the food. My last time here was fantastic and our waitress was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere here is very different from the grossmont mall location in San Diego. This location feels more like a brew house with very high ceilings and a whole bar area with many tvs around the entire restaurant. I tried their new asian sweet and spicy chili sauce on the boneless wings and it was SO good. The perfect amount of sauce on the wings and a good kick. The person I was with got the brewpub pretzel which was a decent size and the mustard + beer cheese they serve with it goes really well with it. Lastly, for dessert of course we had to get a pizookie so we opted for the fun halloween seasonal "spooky pizookie" but substituted the oreo cookie with the triple chocolate cookie. The magic shell you pour on top is fun and the ice cream is so bright orange. It also has little cute pumpkin shaped sprinkles and oreos on top. Loved it!

Great time celebrating with friends! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Burgers all around! Great and friendly service too. Liked the vibe of this location.

BJ's RESTAURANT & BREWHOUSE @ FRAZEE RD This spot is located near the trolley station, so if you're riding the trolley, it's an easy walk. There is a lot lots of parking but can get super packed very quickly. This BJ's is very big, high ceilings and I love how spacious it is. We were seated immediately, and it was super quick however my seat was so DIRTY. Like crumbs, so sticky, and it was not the best. I told the waiter and she immediately went to wipe it, but it was still stained because it became hardened into the seat... I don't think the workers really wiped after customers. That lost a star for me. Other than that, the service was great from our waiter, and we got a strawberry shortcake pizookie to share which was delicious. The ambiance of the place is a bit dirty, but still very spacious and large. This spot is great for game days and families!

Went on a Friday night and the wait wasn't long, which was a nice surprise. Service was great -- friendly and attentive. Tried the Dubai Pizooki and really enjoyed it. The flavor was great but I wish it had a bit more knafeh and pistachio cream. Overall, it's a tasty dessert and definitely worth ordering if you're in the mood for something sweet.

They really need more help and training. Big restaurant and very bad service. Takes forever and sloppy. Didn't bring right cookie . Take out never came.

Haven't been to a BJ's in ages, but was driving by and made a spur-of-the-moment decision to drop in for nostalgia's sake... only to remember why this ubiquitous chain really isn't on my list of restaurant go-tos! :P This particular location houses a gargantuan space with many tables, and attention to service seems to vary depending on where you sit - it was rather spotty at the bar area high tops on our visit. The Sliders were simultaneously dry yet doused with too much ketchup, albeit the Pizookie Trio (we chose Triple Chocolate, Strawberry Shortcake, and Hot Fudge Brownie) did appropriately satisfy my desire to walk down memory lane, so props for that!

Bjs reached out and offered me a coupon because of my experience which I really appreciate. I used my coupon at a different location (La jolla) and my food and service was great. I still stand by the fact I think that this location needs more attention. This location seems overwhelmed and seems like the kitchen could still use some attention.

Went here in October, but had to make a second trip with my Hubby to get this delicious Hickey Brisket & Bacon Burger! It was even better tasting the second time. I got a Chocolate Porter which paired well with the BBQ Burger. Bj's Honey Sirracha Brussel Sprouts were amazing too and you can't leave Bj's without getting a Pizookie, but in our case...Monkey Bread with a scoop of ice cream. Delicious! Both times, service was great and it's a great place to watch sports!

I would give ZERO STAR if I can. Why would you serve my kid broccoli that is already turning brown? And it's very obvious when it was serve. My son was already hungry when his plate came so I just push the broccoli aside so he can eat his chicken Alfredo. Please do better. People pays for every meal here so serve us better food or at least not the food that is about to get bad. Server only came to us to serve our food after that we never saw her. Izzy/Issy was really nice coming back few times before we order our food but after delivering it, we never saw her again. Good thing we can pay via QR code considering both of our kids were done and just ready to go home.

I've had a gift card tho this joint for ages, and decided it was burning a hole in my pocket... Surprisingly busy on a Friday evening with no bar seats left! Waited about 20 minutes and was seated at a cozy booth for two! Ordered our drinks but server went MIA for about 15 minutes... so we knew we needed to be ready to order our entrees to avoid another gap. Tried the nutty brunette...as advertised! Ordered the double cut porkchop, selected potatoes and garlic veg as my side... all were very good! It came with soup so I opted for the chili, and liked it! Finished the meal with a pizookie as it was included in the dinner deal... the hot fudge brownie was super rich and comes with ice cream and was just right for two. Ambiance is Art deco lounge, service was spotty and inattentive, and prices were as expected.

The food was amazing as always!!! Vesonia, the manager, was so nice!! She came around and had a conversation with my boyfriend & I, she made us feel very welcomed and we had a good laugh! She was a bronco fan which made our experience a whole lot better Will definitely come back!! Our server Sarah was also very sweet and always made sure we were content.

I had a great experience here earlier tonight with the bartender Chris. Even though he was really busy at the time, he still checked in on me and made sure I had everything I needed. The manager Vesonia also checks in with guests, and both of them really made my night!

I can see why BJ's Restaurant remains successful, because they serve satisfying grub. Also because their Pizookies are off the hook! 6/29/2024. BJ's Nutty Brunette ($7.75): I liked their version of New Castle, 4/5 stars. BJ's Chili has a bite of spice and is full flavored, 4.5/5 stars. Prime Rib three course dinner ($35): beef was tender and precisely cooked to medium-rare, 4/5 stars. A deal too, as it included chili and a Pizookie! Oreo Pizookie: cookie was like a brownie with oreo bits. Perfection, 5/5 stars!

Go to place to hang out with friends!!! My favorites are the spooky pizookie and the cookies and cream one which are $5 on Tuesdays. Another thing I love to get is the kids meal, I always get the fettuccine Alfredo with the smiley face potatoes for $7.99 perfect small bite to eat. And the $13 dollar meal deal I tried their deep dish pizza and it was so soft and juicy. It can get a little busy on Tuesday's but still always so worth it and never disappoints.

Came in close to closing time, but Chris was still super attentive and nice when taking care of us. Service was quick, waters were always full. Monkey bread pizookie is back so great time overall!!

Reviewing Dessert... We dropped by here mainly for dessert. We ordered the... *Pizookie Trio Three mini Pizookies, each served with a scoop of ice cream We chose...Chocolate chunk, Salted Carmel and White chocolate macadamia With vanilla and chocolate ice cream Who doesn't enjoy chocolate, caramel and macadamia nuts!! What great choices!! We couldn't decide on one flavor so we got the best of 3!!! All yummy and delicious! The added ice cream just elevated our taste buds!!! Would definitely come back and try other flavors!

If it weren't for receiving a gift card probably would not choose to eat here. Nashville boneless wings with extra sauce the chicken is crunchy but it's not Nashville style at all and very salty. The chicken sandwich was supposed to be extra chipotle aioli sauce, spicy slaw this is what they gave me. The fries weren't fresh Another dud meal

Another successful night post-dance rehearsal at the usual spot and with our best servers, Adam and Mallory. Always so welcoming, fast, friendly and a joy to have them take care of us after dancing for 3 hours. They're the best and I am always grateful they take our large group! We'll be back again soon for post dance rehearsal eats or when we just want a warm and inviting lunch or dinner with great service!!

Think of a large high school cafeteria with beer. Food. 3* Ambiance. 2* House beer 2* Service 1* Let's stick with my main complaints and I will leave other reviews later about other issues . Every time I go to BJs and make a reservation on OpenTable. We arrived at the restaurant give our name to the hostess or host theoretically they check us in and lead us to our table . 15 minutes later I got a message from OpenTable saying that my reservation has been cancelled . I have spoken to a female team manager who obviously doesn't have a clue when she stated "we have nothing to do with OpenTable" This has recently happened two weeks in a row. I would really like all the Rewards points that I have not gotten because of BJ screw ups and a word or two with the manager if you can find one.

Came in for just dessert and a drink. Isabella our waitress was super friendly and very competent especially considering how new to the industry she was. The seasonal special, the "Spooky pizookie" was delicious, first time I've ever had orange ice cream but it was a great cookies a cream flavor. My spiked root beer was kind of bitter but pretty good. It was nice to be able to watch the game too! Only 4 stars because the pizookie took way too long to come out, otherwise BJ's was spooktacular.

We went to this place for a dinner Thursday night and it was really good! We got the deal of Slow-Roasted Entree with Dessert and also an appetizer of nachos. There was around a 30 minute wait which for me was a bit suprising, but we had time so we chose to wait. I got the tri-tip with a pizookie dessert. Everything was great! The nachos were a great appetizer and I would honestly get it as an entree if I wanted nachos one day. The portion size of the nachos were large and I was honestly suprised. For the pizookie, I got the strawberry shortcake pizookie which was great. The service was also really good. They were quick to refill drinks and ask if we needed anything. The ambiance of the restaurant is also good.

Food was 10/10 ! My server was 100/10! If you come eat here make sure to request Dougie he did a phenomenal job today!

I have not always had the best experience at BJ's but, tonight was perfect. The service was great! Super fast and attentive. The food was proper. 13$ Pizookie meal was soo good. Everything we had was just right. Even the drinks were fairly strong. BJ's is your basic chain restaurant so Im sure the menu is familiar to all. The Mission Valley location was super busy as always so, of you do not want to wait, try to get a bar seat. Good vibes , good music , good food. Thanks BJ's!

The atmosphere is great! It's huge and has plenty of different areas and seating (though we always sit at the bar). The bar has a ridiculous number of drafts! Including their own brews. We got the last two seats at the time, and had to ask someone to move over to get them together. So THAT could be bigger. They have gluten-free pizza! Huge plus! It was decent, but did not come out hot. It was lukewarm. So I wasn't happy about that, but didn't say anything. They can make an Irish Coffee! Huge plus! However, it came out in a regular coffee mug and tasted like the coffee was burnt. The bartender was very nice, and honestly, I should've said something if I wasn't happy with my food or drink. My friend had the broccoli cheddar soup - I snuck a couple bites :) - THAT was delicious!!!! Also, the guy next to me got the steak dinner - I kept eyeing it LOL! The steak was ridiculous huge and came with ALL KINDS OF THINGS - soup, salad, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. I might have to get that next time. I'll go back and try again.

I came her with a few friends on a Saturday night and it wasn't that bad just be sure to put your name on the waitlist so by the time you get there you will be seated. BJ's is a chain and the last time I came here was maybe 15 years ago so it was pretty good to be back. I got the pizza called BJ's favorite and it was pretty good! It has most of the toppings you would find on a combo pizza in addition to their house made meatballs! Service was excellent and the ambiance was awesome! It was a very casual atmosphere which is good place for family or for a group of friends!

Attended a luncheon meeting here on Thursday afternoon. BJs has a great $13.99 offer where you can chose an entree and it includes a mini pizouki topped with core cream. Today I had the burger & fries. This was a great deal that gave plenty of food. Our waiter was not only handling our table of 12 but also he had several tables around him. The waiter was really good and didn't forget anything. I'll be returning again soon.

Had a fantastic experience at the bar here. Jenna was our bartender and she was amazing ! Super friendly and made the best drinks! She was very attentive and gave us great service the whole time. We will be back and will want her every time!

BJs has great food, but why are the servers so good looking! Bryson is an example. He was a great server and still looks like a movie star

We love BJs. We go for the deep dish Bbq Chicken Pizza and the pazookies. Our recent visit wouldn't have been amazing without our server, Kristine! She was so patient with us, especially with our infant and 4-year-old. Friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal stress-free. We'll definitely be back!

Pepperoni Flatbread as an appetizer is the best! Our server was friendly and had an infectious Smile, kept us enjoying our craft beer. My favorite was Piranha Pale Ale, Blonde, & PM Porter. It's a very nice restaurant bar with many servers to keep the atmosphere happy upon arrival and kept you occupied with the Cold beers by serving as soon as the glass was half way empty! I liked the music in the background. Parking is free but gets busy at PM hours. Cheers!

Food does not match what is on their menu The fish that had aho on it hadanu large pieces of Aho. The one served had few pieces each about 3/8 inches wide and about 1/32 thick They should be ashamed since previously,a year ago in La Jolla , what was served matched.

Smash burger on a brioche bun, golden fries straight out of the fryer--it's a standing ovation in every bite. Every detail I asked for? Chris nailed it. Always a great experience at BJ's! I've been here multiple times and it's consistently a good time -- the food is delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and of course, you can't go wrong with the famous Pizookies! On our most recent visit, we were lucky to have Dylan as our server, and he truly went above and beyond. He was incredibly friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. From taking our order to checking in just the right amount, Dylan was on top of his game the entire time. Customer service like his makes a huge difference, and it absolutely elevated our visit. If anyone deserves a raise, it's him! 10/10 service -- we'll definitely be back.

We were on the waitlist for a party of 2 with a wheelchair on November 24 for dinner, so we needed a table and not a booth. The estimated wait time was 30+ minutes. We arrived after being texted and were told that someone else took the table and we would be given the next available table. We then waited for another 15 minutes and checked again and we were told that we were taken off the waitlist. I explained the situation and the hostess said she would only add us to the end of the waitlist again with another way of 30-40 minutes. Tried to argue that we were told we'd get a table but the hostess didnt want to listen. We didnt want to wait over an hour due to something that wasnt even out fault so we left. Horrible service and not willing to listen after their own mess up.

Had a yummy meal and a great server Dylan tonight. Great deals during the week. Drinks yummy. Had the Mediterranean bowl, salad and don't forget dessert. Def will return.

AVOID BJ's Brewhouse in San Diego at All Costs I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at BJ's Brewhouse in San Diego was so appalling that I feel obligated to warn others. Our server at table 807 was not only incompetent but downright hostile. Sporting poorly executed tattoos across his neck and arms (which would be fine if his attitude matched basic customer service standards), he made it abundantly clear that our presence was an inconvenience. When we ordered a to-go Pizookie--apparently an unforgivable sin in his book--you would have thought we'd asked him to personally bake it in a volcano. Despite the restaurant being barely 60% full on a Thursday at 8pm, this server acted as though we'd arrived during the Super Bowl. The contempt in his voice when we dared to order food to-go while seated at a table was palpable. Is there some unwritten rule against this that only BJ's employees know about? We waited a ridiculous 30 MINUTES for a simple to-go Pizookie. That's half an hour for a dessert that's pre-made and just needs to be heated! The true insult came when we arrived home to discover our food was burned beyond recognition. Not slightly overcooked--completely INEDIBLE. Charred to the point that it resembled archaeological findings rather than dinner. Save yourself the money, time, and dignity. There are countless restaurants in San Diego that actually value their customers and know how to prepare food without turning it into carbon. BJ's Brewhouse clearly isn't one of them.

Tyson was Awesome and the food was amazing too! Everyone enjoyed their orders props to all the cooks and staff. Great food and we enjoyed everything. The hostesses greeted us with a smile and we were seated quickly. Tyson made sure we had a great meal and answered all of our questions and gave recommendations when we couldn't decide on the order. Excellent dining experience! I've lived in Mission Valley for 8 years and this was my first time at BJs. Dylan was our server and took amazing care of us with fabulous recommendations. We will definitely be back to enjoy the terrific food, the daily deals and top-notch service!

I hadn't been to BJs in a while. I had a rough afternoon and knew I didn't want to go home and make dinner. I also knew that I wanted a drink. Leaving the vet (we had to put our cat down) we ended up on Friars. Saw Cheesecake but that didn't sound good. Partner said what about Bjs and off we went. Came in and go sat right away. Our waiter, I can't recall his name, was very attentive, patient, and friendly. The music was great and not too crazy considering it was happy hour. The bar was busy but still not crazy. I forgot about all the random mid week specials they have. For $14 bucks we got the pizza, salad, and mini pizzookie dinner. Had to take the pizzookie to go. Great pizza, good moz sticks (could have been just a bit crunchier) but good amount, and good drinks. Thanks for helping me get out of my head for a bit.

Came on a Tuesday around 6pm and we were seated right away. We shared the chili crunch potstickers which were delicious and crispy, but I wish there were for the price ($17). I also ordered the boba-licious mango sparkler which was not too sweet. For my meal, i had the $13 southern fried chicken, it was flavorful and tender and i also enjoyed the mashed potatoes and the corn was a nice addition. It was a good portion size for the price as well. Lastly, we got a s'mores pizookie which was warm and gooey. Our server Alexia was amazing! It's kinda dark inside lol, but will definitely be coming back

Nieve was the best, amazing service, amazing food, we quick even when it was quite busy !!!

Went here with the fam and everything was amazing! Took a few minutes to sit and the host was welcoming. Our waiter was awesome got our order in and was very attentive to our needs. Vesonia was very sweet as well came by throughout our stay and chatted with everyone. We will be back!
