Cozy Pakistani kitchen known for burgers, plus kebabs, lamb chops & vegan options.
"When you try the signature burger at this tiny Pakistani place in Williamsburg (with outposts in food halls in Midtown East and Downtown Brooklyn), you’ll think back to a time in your life when you were constantly discovering great new things, like sunsets and scented markers. Instead of mayo or mustard, the burger has spicy mint chutney, and the big patty is somehow lighter than it appears. We could eat several of these in one sitting, and now that we’ve come up with that idea, we probably will." - will hartman, bryan kim, neha talreja, willa moore, kenny yang
"Thinking of this Pakistani counter service place as just another neighborhood to-go spot would be like calling a triple-jet jacuzzi just another bathtub. And the primary reason for that is their Jani burger, which comes with a thick beef patty, spicy chutney, and one grilled tomato slice. BK Jani also serves other excellent dishes like a fried chicken sandwich and grilled lamb chops covered in spices that taste so good you’ll consider leaving them on your face." - willa moore, neha talreja, bryan kim, will hartman, sonal shah
"When this counter-service Pakistani spot moved from Bushwick to Williamsburg earlier this year, they kept their phenomenal burger and seekh kebabs, and gained a lovely little backyard in the process. It was a classic win-win move, unless you live in Bushwick." - matt tervooren
"There’s a surprising lack of burgers in DeKalb Market Hall, but you can get an interesting one at this Pakistani spot. Order their Jani burger, which comes with spicy chutney, grilled tomato, and a big patty that’s somehow lighter than it appears. They also serve a fried chicken sandwich and grilled lamb chops, but these ones aren’t as tender as the ones at their original Williamsburg shop. Stick to the burger." - Neha Talreja
"Thinking of this Pakistani counter service place as just another neighborhood to-go spot would be like calling a triple-jet jacuzzi just another bathtub. The burger here is war-ending, relationship-facilitating, and overwhelmingly meaty in a good way. Split that and an order of lamb chops with a friend, and you’re in business." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim
