Google
Some of the best raised doughnuts that I have ever had. We got the ham and cheese pretzel, pecan toffee, maple brown sugar, the coffee cake fitter and the sticky bun. The pretzel was a soft warm buttery combination of goodness with slightly crispy edges. Both the pecan and maple were amazing, the doughnuts were heavy in weight but fluffy with the texture. The toffee ended with the taste of toffee candy and the maple was just a simple sweet maple bar. The fritter was a bust, it was dry and lacked any real flavor notes. The sticky bun was just a dry cinnamon bread. In the end get the raised doughnuts don't worry about anything else.

Google
The place is tiny and very cute. The staff member was also really kind and engaged in some small talk with my dad, and the donuts are GOOOD. I will say they're not like fluffy and airy but more fluffy and moist, and honestly the donuts could be shared between 2 people. They're very filling and not too sweet. The coffee was also good quality according to my father, so no complaints.

Google
Just a bummer.. we chose this place to stop at on our way to Charleston and they had two donuts to choose from. It was 2:55pm and they close at 4pm. Lots of other bakeries in area to try next time. I had a glazed donut and it was good. Was not even a top 5 of what I wanted but it was fine.

Google
My Door Dash order from here was so delicious! Cinnamon bun cream top cold brew, ham and cheese pretzel, and cookie dough cheesecake were all to die for.

We stopped here as the last stop before we headed back to Georgia. It’s acute little bakery with quite a few option. The cashier was helpful and polite. My husband got an Apple Fritter, which he enjoyed, while I got an OG (glaze) and banana pudding. The donut was very good, but the banana pudding was top tier. It was delicious and rich tasting, and made me wish that I bought two.

Google
It is the only vegan donut place in Charleston I could find (sad face). Got the vegan apple fritter. I liked how I can take bite-sized pieces off of the fritter. Flavor was good. Not a lot of seating. Only one bathroom.

Google
The whole place is such a vibe! All the doughnuts are super fresh and the coffee is amazing!!

Google
Some of the best vegan donuts(and apple fritters mm) in the country. Always come here when in town(and always bring a cup for some yummy drinks too)! Remember though that as a vegan all basic cereal is not free from animal products!! So they have a few with fruity pebbles and what not but if you truly don’t eat animal product then steer clear of those ones. Anyway keep up the yumminess and cute vibe!

Yelp
The cereal doughnut is so good! I visited towards the end of the day, so it wasn't as fresh as it could've been. Still very delicious. I also had a cinnamon bun latte which was pretty good. They also sell plants which was so fun for me, not so fun for my pockets haha The lady at the counter was nice and helpful!

Yelp
Love this location! The employees are so sweet, the donuts are always fresh, and they make a mean latte! I love treating myself before work once a week, and they make it so worth it. The inside is adorable, with plenty of light coming in through the windows. I highly recommend!

Yelp
One of my favorite local coffee + donut shop. I love their coffee &, of course, their donuts are delicious too! Also, I love taking out-of-town guests here.

Yelp
Came here for a mid day coffee after shopping on King Street, the food & drinks here are so unique it makes it hard to decide what you want! We got the cinnamon bun cold brew, a s'mores donut & a cinnamon sugar donut. I need to come back for the pop tart, cosmic brownie & the lavender latte The environment of the store is super cool and trendy, great to snap a photo of!

Yelp
Stopping by this place is always a treat. This shop combines two of my greatest loves -plants and all things sugar. To be honest, I am not the biggest fan of gourmet donuts. I am basic and prefer Krispy crème. But the donuts the produce look cool, they make a killer London fog tea, and they have a show room of plants you can browse as you wait for your order.
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
We got 3 vegan options (apple fritter, maple brown sugar, and Vietnamese iced coffee) as well as coffees. All were delicious! They're kind of pricey, but they're also large. We took half of them home as leftovers.

Yelp
This is a cute place in nexton square. Its an expensive upscale donut and coffee shop. I did think the donuts are creative and tasty...but you do pay for it. There is not too many places to sit but most people take it to go. The service is counter service but they will take it out to you if you eat in thought. I have been in the line for a while here at times.
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I was worried the donut would be too sweet, but I found the cinnamon sugar donut to be perfectly balanced! They had tons of options and I loved the coffee drink I got as well. Customer service was great! There's only a handful of free parking spots outside though, so you can will probably have to pay to park in the garage next door.

Yelp
A pastry shop with donuts, desserts, and plants. All my favorite things obviously. Wish we would've found this place sooner. The donuts are fantastic and the employees were so kind.

Yelp
Stopped by while in Charleston for a quick and sweet treat. Their coffee was good, while their cheesecake was just okay. It lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The person who served us was very nice, and she took care of us quickly!

Yelp
Having tried BkedSHoP in Summerville, we decided to stop in at the original. Much to our surprise, there was quite a selection for this small shop. My fav is the raspberry however, for this visit it wasn't meant to be. We grabbed a couple to eat later which were awesome. My fav is still raspberry as it isn't full of a lot of sugar yet flavorful.

Nihal G.

Yelp
the donuts were good but the flavors could've been stronger in the icing. the chocolate peanut bar was fantastic. I also enjoyed the plants in the cafe. very cute but not much seating.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
I really loved this shop. Everything from wall to wall is adorable. They not only sell donuts and coffee, but plants too. I saw they had apple cider donuts this weekend and HAD TO HAVE THEM so I stopped in. The girl working was super sweet and hyped up the apple cider donuts so I bought 4! Now, they are a pretty penny so I was really hoping these donuts were life changing. Got them home and immediately had to indulge and called for my husband to come check them out too! (As he's the one who really got my obsession for apple cider donuts going.) Well, we both bit in and didn't say much as we were waiting for that apple cider pop. Maybe the second bite. Well, that pop never came and frankly the inside of the donut was pretty dry. It's a decent cinnamon sugar donut..but not special enough for another go round for us.
google avatar

Yelp
The BEST donuts in town! They have something for everyone. A large selection of vegan donuts and even more regular! Their seasonal flavors are always on point. Don't forget a coffee while you're there, they have one of the best dirty chais in town!
google avatar

Opal D.

Yelp
Many unique flavors, I tried the key lime donut today and it was very good. The customer service is great, the shop was clean, my beverage was made correctly, nice ambiance (lots of plants), and price is on par with small baked goods/coffee shops in the area. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
When autumn rolls around that is when I seek out all things that inspire me during the season!! First time at this location, same incredible donuts like at the Summerville location. I am obsessed with their brioche-type of donuts, that is exactly the way I prefer them. I adored the seasonal drink specials and went with the tried-and-true Autumn spice latte. The staff is friendly and patient especially with my indecisiveness when it comes with trying to pick a donut!! The glaze on the squared donuts add to the moistness and the apple cinnamon cider donut was coated well in all its sugary glory. There's free parking along the street and heard there's also a parking garage as well.

Yelp
We came across Bkedshop while trying to find a different business and stopped in to see what it was all about. First thing to note, not all donuts are created equally. lol While these donuts look like they may be yeast donuts, they are actually brioche donuts. Yes, you read that correctly...brioche. This definitely intrigued me more so we decided to get 1 each (basically because we wanted the same donuts...lol) and 1 to split. We got the Vanilla Bean, Brown Butter Apple Waffle and Maple Brown Sugar. These donuts are dense but not in a bad way, just an "I wasn't really expecting that" kind of way. lol The Vanilla Bean is good. Not overly sweet but at the same time not sweet enough. I felt like you had the sweetness just at the very beginning of the bite and then all you tasted was donut. This was the same for the Brown Butter Apple Waffle which bummed me out because I was really looking forward to this one. The Maple Brown Sugar donut has the most flavor and is hands down my favorite of the 3. It's the perfect amount of sweetness and the caramelized brown sugar on top is the perfect touch. While this is really more of a 3.5 star review, I bumped it to a 4. With that said, Iwould definitely return here and try some of the other flavors the next time we are in Charleston.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Yummy yummy in my tummy!!! The donuts were delicious and the brown butter and cinnamon latte was the best latte I have had in years!!!
google avatar

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
My friend said these were her favorite donuts in Charleston, so we decided to pick some up when we were visiting her. We got a half dozen donuts with Cookie Butter, Pumpkin Spice, Pecan Toffee Crunch, Apple Pie, Cereal Milk, and Autumn Nut Crunch (vegan). I really liked these donuts. My favorite flavors were the Apple Pie and Cereal Milk followed closely by Autumn Nut Crunch and Pecan Toffee Crunch. The Pumpkin Spice and Cookie Butter were not as flavorful as I would have wanted. They have quite a few vegan donuts and if you're not vegan, I couldn't even tell the difference between the two. We also got an Autumn Spice Chai Latte which was delicious. If you're a donut lover, I definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
So, being from Memphis, I have a HIGH standard for donuts. Gibson's (greatest donut shop in the world, no debate) was what I grew up on. So all donut shops are in a tier below Gibson's for me, besides like Voodoo Donuts which is in my theoretical Tier 1a. Well folks, this place is right in that Tier 1a for me up there with voodoo donuts!! I'm so happy we have this in Charleston. I got a half dozen (strawberry frosted, Apple fritter, cookies + cream, blackout, Nutella) because it's my birthday and donuts rock. Man, I had a moment with that strawberry frosted one. Bliss. Also- tons of cool plants in the shop that I was unaware they had. Love it. Will be back! Everyone was nice and our dog approved!

Jaidon A.

Yelp
You have to try it! The donuts are literally pieces of art. Some have edible glitter and they are so pretty. They are dense and moist but you don't feel super heavy after eating one. They have yummy, unique flavors. I wasn't expecting the flavors to be so subtle but I appreciated that they weren't boom in your face. Maybe other donuts do have a stronger flavor, I just didn't think the apple or the orange sherbet donuts I got had an intense apple/orange flavor. I also enjoyed their latte which I believe had the brown sugar syrup in it. The staff was friendly. The plant shop in house is beautiful. They had a nice amount of seating. Clean restrooms. It's cool how they have an open back so you can see some donuts being made.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Bked Shop now a few times and I think it's one of the best places for that "little sweet"! They have lots of options for those with dietary restrictions, but also have just as incredible options for those without food allergies who are ready to splurge on a donut! Having tried both the vegan and regular donuts they both taste just as great! Hard to tell the difference! They are constantly rotating out seasonal flavors, and I was so sad to see my favorite Vegan Maple Brown Sugar donut go, but excited to try out more! The macadamia nutt lattes here are also worth a try. Surprised me with how much I liked it since they were out of oat milk at the time!! Staff is always super nice and the shop is always super clean!! Parking is first come first serve so that would be my only thing I'd be aware of going in! Otherwise there's a little something for everybody! It's a great local spot filled with some great local people! And who doesn't love a good donut.
google avatar

Haley S.

Yelp
Seem really popular. They were selling out of everything on their little street stand in minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't like my donut very much. I found it too be way too dense and heavy, and somehow it was too much sugar for me to handle (and I love sugar). All in all it didn't sit well.
google avatar

L P.

Yelp
Be still my beating heart!!! Omg this place is everything I could ever hope for in a donut/pastry shop. Very nice and welcoming woman, the shop was clean and I had a great iced latte to go along with my cinnamon bun, donuts and hohos. I can't wait to come back and try more items. Don't miss the cinnamon bun that will bring tears to your eyes. Next up is that chocolate babka bun! I'd add photos but we housed our selections in seconds.

Yelp
Decided to come try BKeDSHoP while on vacation in Charleston & looking for some local donuts. The workers were extremely friendly & welcoming. There were so many unique donuts I wanted to try - we went with the coffee cake donut, frosted animal cookie, and a strawberry pop tart. My favorite was the coffee cake- after ordering & while eating I heard the worker tell another guest that there are 6 vegan options & they are made separately from the other donuts as well. Instead of eggs they use applesauce. I also ordered the Cinnamon bun cold brew- great flavor & not too sweet but very refreshing on a hot day. The store is super cute- I would like to come back & try the French toast waffle & maybe some of the other unique options like orange cream. Overall worth checking this place out!
google avatar

Sherry L.

Yelp
We always carve out time to visit this place while we are in Charleston. Our primary reason to check it out is because there is a cute collection of plant babies in the shop. The interior decor is really cute and sophisticated. It is located close to the Citadel on the first floor of what I believe is a combo of residential and commercial building. There is a parking garage in the building. We have not had a chance to try the donuts because we cannot get past eating the delicious pretzels! Hands down our favorite is the Mozzarella and Pesto one. The lattes are good - we had the Brown Sugar Cinnamon and Salted Caramel. I guess it is a trend to have very sweet lattes and this was no exception, but I wish more places just gave a hint of these flavors vs. overpowering the coffee's natural flavors. It still does not deter us from making our stop here and enjoying it.
google avatar

Holden M.

Yelp
BKeDSHoP is still great and a staple for some vegan treats. The v Apple fritter is really something...but! They haven't given the vegan doughnut menu love or a shuffle in a while (as far as I'm aware). It would be really awesome to see vibrant and exciting fruit glazes and flavors. Maybe a jelly filled vegan doughnut? Anyways, hats off to having vegan options.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Bked quite a few times and usually leave satisfied. This last time however was pretty bad. I preordered the Valentine's Day box weeks in advance and was super excited to get it. I added on one of their imitation Little Debbie heart cakes as well. That in itself was a mistake. It cost over $5 and was super dry and really not very tasty at all. The donuts weren't much better either. Out of 6, I only really liked one. the rest were dry and not very flavorful. the worst one was a red velvet donut that turned out not to be red velvet at all... it just has some red velvet crumbs on top. After taking a bite it went in the trash. I reached out to Bked to give them a chance to fix it but was told that's how it was supposed to be. Maybe they just had an off day but i expected more from a special preorder box. I honestly most likely wont be back.
google avatar

Polina W.

Yelp
Loved the variety and taste of the donuts here! My husband and I strolled in close to closing and the selection was still present. We definitely ordered more than we could handle, but we stretched the sweets over a few meals and days. Plus, it always helps to have sweet customer service!
google avatar

Julia B.

Yelp
My favorite donuts in Charleston. They have a cute place to sit both inside and out and they make a great cup of coffee. If you don't like bagels their pretzels and cinnamon rolls are stellar too.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
These donuts were awesome! I always love when I can find a vegan baked good that I can honestly say is better than half the non vegan pastries I've had. The cinnamon roll is definitely my favorite. The glaze is so thick and when you warm it up it's the perfect treat My only complaint is that the pop up shop at brown fox coffee doesn't bring any vegan options, me and a bunch of my friends are very sad about that. Besides that all and all I love it and will be back... OFTEN..

Angie V.

Yelp
we had high hope very disappointed in watered down coffee and chi tea in drinkable and very expensive

Jamie G.

Yelp
They have the best texture and flavor of donuts around. Hands down. They are filling, and just one is often more than enough, but they don't make you feel like crap when you eat them (think Duck Donuts). Delicious coffee and friendly staff as well sets this place apart in my book! oh - and the ham and cheese pretzel will blow your mind if you're craving a savory non-donut!
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
Got a sixer of craft donuts for 15 bucks plus tax. They are indeed crafty and have lots of flavors. The Boston Creme is large, but unfortunately the creme inside could only be found inside one half of the donut. It wasn't overly swee, which I really appreciated. The sprinkles on it were excellent. Unfortunately, the creme inside never made it to the other half. The chai creme donut that has the waffle imprint is basically a glazed donut, just so you know. I'd skip this one and wouldn't get it again. Try the red velvet I'd say. These donuts are good overall, but nothing blew my mind. I do have super high expectations as I've been to maybe the top rated craft donut joint in America out there in Portland, Oregon, called Blue Star donuts. That place, well yeah, it'll blow you away. Parallel parking available along one side of the street and then a crappy dirt parking lot across the street that's used for Charleston River Dogs games is also available (we had to park here). Folks working inside were super friendly. Most donuts cost 3 dollars plus tax. P.S. They also have a food truck. Oh yeah.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
Fantastic branding, even better donuts. We visited the downtown location, which is smaller than the Summerville sister location. We enjoyed the cookies and cream, cereal milk and buttered toast and jam donuts. While I enjoyed the uniqueness of the buttered toast variant, I found the cookies and cream donut to be the best. The cereal milk fruity pebbles lost some of their original texture but I still give props for the thought behind it. Along with the donuts, customers also have the ability to browse the numerous plants for purchase. I love the crossover as it gives the shop a unique flair. As I alluded to previously, this location is much smaller than their sister venue though. Therefore, if you want more plants, consider the drive out there if you have the time
google avatar

Paige A.

Yelp
Super cute idea but a little flat in execution. The order before us looked like a larger order. We stood there for several minutes before either person behind the counter addressed us. A simple "we will be with you in just a minute" goes a long way. I picked out a plant while we waited. The plant selection was much smaller than expected. There were ~20 plants total with only one of each variety. I found one that caught my eye but from the photos Id seen, I was envisioning a much larger selection. It felt a bit like having one bookshelf of books and advertising your store as a coffee and book shop. When we had a chance to order I noticed one of the women was picking up donuts with her bare hands, which didn't seem like the most hygienic option. I am always so appreciative of vegan options so was eager to try the lemon poppy seed and my husband got the Boston cream. As we tried them we both felt that the density and flavor felt a bit like biting into a loaf of bread. The lemon poppy seed was light on the lemon and very sweet. I ended up throwing out 2/3 as it was just too dense and bready. The donuts were not worth a return trip for us but if someone liked a dense donut, this may be a really desirable option to try.

Sandra Sue H.

Yelp
These are the most amazing donuts I have ever eaten. The store is welcoming and fun. This is a must try when in the area. You will crave them forever!
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
I'm giving it three stars because 1- all the donuts tasted exactly the same. Even the cold brew pumpkin one tasted like generic vanilla frosting. Two- the coffee was suppose to come with a spiced whipped cream on the top (similar to a pumpkin cream cold brew from Starbucks) but I think she forgot. But my stars just go to the fact that everything just tasted bland. But cute shop nice staff..
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
You figure a donut shop next to a police station is probably the real deal. I was impressed with the variety of their menu - at least theoretically. I stopped by close to the end of the day and they didn't have much left, but I did pick up a tasty cinnamon roll. They had other options, including a surprising number of vegan flavors (at no extra cost) which I would be curious to try.
google avatar

Harold N.

Yelp
This looks like a great place to hang out. They have free WiFi I got here late so I don't know if that was a factor that my bakery items were not as good as I was hoping they would be. The young lady who made my coffee made it well. I really don't think the pastries were freshly made like I was hoping it would have been.
google avatar

Natalye R.

Yelp
The first thing I do in any new city is track down the best vegan eats, so when I knew we'd be spending my birthday weekend in Charleston, I started searching and found BKeD. It was such a treat to eat the donuts here. We're spoiled with good vegan donuts in Berlin, but they're not that super sweet, totally loaded, super junk food kind of American donut that I'm used to. Which is fine. I don't want that all the time. But occasionally I do, and that's what I got here. We ended up getting a mix of: Apple Fritter Vanilla Bean Strawberry Chocolate Cinnamon Bun Chocolate Cookie Almond Butter & Raspberry Jelly Maple Brown Sugar And seriously, they were all legit. The service was also excellent. I ordered, told them when I'd pick up, and everything went off without a hitch.
google avatar

Deidra D.

Yelp
I planned my stop at BKeDSHoP prior to visiting Charleston. I was so happy to stop by and check out their selection! I ended up getting the fruity pebbles donut and you guys... ...it's SO GOOD! The way the donut itself is made is divine! It was dense but still fluffy. Crisp outside and a decadent center. Highly recommend and I will be back!
google avatar

D Mark R.

Yelp
Wonderful shop; superior baked goods. Purchased for the Clearline Dermatology staff as a thank you...they loved the treats!
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
Unfortunately my dad and I weren't impressed with these doughnuts because they were thick and bread like. We also didn't feel like they were sweet enough. Maybe we've been spoiled by the melt in your mouth Krispy Kreme style doughnuts but we just felt like BKeD's didn't measure up. I'm not a fan of Dunkin's doughnuts either because they seem too bread like also. I did really like their pear almond fritter. It was delicious as was the samoa bar.
google avatar

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
We were walking around Saturday morning and came across the farmer's market. The market itself had a lot of different options. I noticed the donuts and took a peak. I stopped to ask the vendor for his recommendations. He pointed to the seasoned flavors that were pumpkin based. Not in the mood for pumpkin now it's December, he suggested the traditional chocolate and the cereal option as they are popular items. The chocolate looked heavy and I don't care for cereal, so I took a chance on the strawberry option. I took a bite and regretted getting the donut. The dough was a too oily and the donut itself was dense, a style that makes it hard to say it is a yeast donut. The flavors are fine, though the fruity strawberry flavor was not liked at all by hubs. It was an incredibly heavy donut and that seems to be the style.
google avatar

Jillian R.

Yelp
More of a 3.5 star. I'm not sure if they were understaffed today, or always have one person working, but it definitely seemed like they needed someone else behind the counter to help make the coffees because everyone was left to the one employee to do otherwise. Ordered the blueberry lemon waffle donut. It was good, tasted more like a cronut, and I liked that the blueberry was real/a compote and not just an artificial flavoring. The lemon taste didn't really really hit me until I was almost done with mine, but my sister said hers had a stronger taste. The white chocolate hazelnut latte was just okay, didn't taste any different than ones I make at home with my espresso machine. The pop tart was not good though. Very flaky and kind of hard (got the chocolate one). I wouldn't order those ever again. The store itself is cute, love all the plants and the aesthetic inside the store. The donut wasn't bad, and the coffee was average.

Paul Z.

Yelp
My first time. Nice place. Friendly service. Good coffee. We arrived 1:30 on Sunday. They were almost sold out. Limited options options. The white chocolate pistachios was excellent. As were our others.

Yelp
Our daughter is vegan and we were in Charleston for a weekend birthday celebration. Birthday cakes are somewhat passé so we chose BKeD for their vegan doughnuts. We bought a dozen with six varieties. My favorite donut is an apple fritter so I tried their apple fritter. It was over-the-top! It was soooo delicious. What a find!!

Tyler B.

Yelp
my girlfriend and I found this place the morning of my birthday and it's safe to say the bakery did not disappoint! we got a cinnamon donut, and two cinnamon rolls and they were amazing! the prices were good and we loved the atmosphere! will definitely go back!
google avatar

Kaley C.

Yelp
Expensive, but very very good! We got a bagel and a pretzel for breakfast. The cold brew was tasty and unique, not watered down at all. I got the blueberry donut and my boyfriend got milk and cookies, for later today, because we were stuffed from our breakfast selections! We both said we want to come back for more
