The Baseline: For Thai food it must have traditional ingredients (basil, chilis, curry, etc), be prepared well, and have the right adjustments to spiciness. November 2025 update: Food: I didn’t hold back on the spice for the Soybeans or the Garlic noodles I ordered and I wish I went mild over medium. The food was still tasty but I let my perceived tolerance get ahead of me (shame on me). Still love coming to BKK Street Thai for my Thai food fix. Service: Great service for my take out order. No complaints. Ambiance: Came in to pick up for take out but everything was clean in the dining area. March 2025 Update: Food: BKK Street Thai is great Thai food! I get it for takeout most of the time but the taste is super. The spicy garlic green beans are becoming my go to if I am not in full curry mode. The fried tofu is awesome and worth trying as an appetizer. The chicken satay is delicious with a delectable peanut sauce. They always adjust for my spice mood and always ask. Service: Great service every time I go. They are really attentive in a sit down service and always efficient with take out orders. Ambiance: This is a great privately owned restaurant with cool neon lighting and the tables are well situated to the space. You can watch the cooks prepare you food over the prep counter. January 2025 Update: We had the ginger rice which is incredibly tasty. Original Review: Had lunch today with my wife. The BKK Street Lunch Fried Chicken and Skewers were delicious! Service was at the right pace and attentive. Will come back again.

Google
I ordered sticky rice and mango, the mango still had the peel on it , leaving me to having to do it myself when my food was for take out and me to just enjoy it while watching the sunset . Also the drink wasn't secured and wrapped in a plastic bag then stapled into a paper bag and once I opened it , it was leaking into the plastic bag leaving my cup sticky .

Google
I ordered Door Dash from here while I was having a really bad cold and let me tell you that their Tom Kah soup brought me back to life and sent me on my merry way 🙌. Their Pad Thai was also really good, couldn’t get enough of it.

Google
I want original Thai food , then I see in Uber 1.yum woon sen = I don’t like it test fake lime and not test like Thai , pork test good but should be minced pork 2. Tom Kay Kai = test like Thai but to much lime and chicken very dry 3. Herbal wings = I love it test original Thai and recommend !! 4. Thai tea = test thai and I like but to sweet if you don’t like sugar nit recommend I wish if you can pick level sugar will be perfect! And other menu look interesting I will try and order next time ☺️

Google
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was remind me of Thailand, good vibes, relaxing, and calm Thai music get an adequate amount of food for what you’re paying for cooked to good The only issue is the yellow curry is a little watery, but if you put that with the rice. Then it's cooked to perfection especially the spice accurate. It was very clean and organized in the restaurant.

Google
Pad Thai was far from authentic. It was my first time here. I got the chicken & shrimp pad Thai. They served a good portion size but the color was orange like a premade sauce was added to the noodles rather than made from scratch. Authentic pad Thai sauce should be more brown from tamarind rather than orange Americanized versions. Chicken was on the dry side. Good portion of shrimp. The overall taste was bland and not flavorful. I also ordered cream cheese wontons where there was a hair on one of the wontons and they were blanched only rather than fried to a crispy light brown so they were fairly soft. The sweet and sour sauce with it was runny and less tangy than what I’m used to. First and last time going to this place. Food is mediocre for the price. Was so disappointed

Google
This is a small location. It's okay. There's nothing fancy. Family owned. The food it's Thai food. It's not over the top. It's not that as bad. I've been here a couple of times. I will never return. My daughter treated us on this trip we walked out the location and the owner felt that it was appropriate to walk outside and stay loudly oh you're not going to tip. Let me say this. Tipping is not mandatory. Tipping is an option. It's up to the customer. But if you are so bold to follow someone out for a tip if you were that dependent then you might be doing something else wrong but I'll say this it was extremely rude. Everything else was okay the vibe the atmosphere everything was comfortable up until that point. Again my household will never return

Google
Ordered the tom yum soup with shrimp, pad thai with tofu, and sides of jasmine rice. The tom yum was tasty and not heavily seasoned with msg so I'd recommend it. The flavor on the pad thai isn't bad, but the noodles were too mushy for my preference. I like how I don't feel I'm dying of thirst, so I would go back for the tom yum and try something else.

Yelp
I wasn't feeling well one night and in the mood for some Thai so placed an order with BKK over the phone. I decided upon the pineapple fried rice and they asked how spicy I wanted. I believe I said mild or 2/10. Order was ready when I arrived. A bit pricey for Thai but there was 3 portions in the to-go box so you get a lot for your money. I was surprised to see so much curry powder on top of the dish. It wound up being super spicy, more like a 6/10 based on my taste buds. The rice, veggies, and pineapple were all fresh and tasty, so the only disappointing part was that they overshot the spice level by a lot.

Yelp
Went here with two friends tonight and had an amazing experience We got two pad Thai and their specialty steamed chicken. Both dishes were delicious! Cute and homey decor. The server who helped us was so sweet and attentive, even with her wrist split! Would definitely be back if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Very polite and welcoming staff. Great Thai spot. We had pad see ew and Penang Curry beef. And some Thai teas. I recommend!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
So yummy! Service is served just as sweet by Nicki. Will definitely come back and recommend to others. Parking is free and ample. All this was for $20. A nice place to relax and was able to study with soft lighting and music.

Yelp
This restaurant makes taking a flight out of LAX more tolerable! A great find for dinner to let traffic die down before driving back to OC. Authentic and delicious Thai food! We enjoyed Tom yum, pad see ew, and fried chicken over rice! All amazing and hit the spot! Service is prompt and very friendly. Perfect way to end our travel day on the way home.

Yelp
Amazing and quick Thai food experience! Glad we stopped in here and luckily it was before they closed for their hour break. The place is small but clean and homey. My partner and I were the only ones being served but the woman who helped us was incredibly kind and attentive. She gave great recommendations! The food came out fast and hot and was so delicious. Very flavorful. I recommend if you want to switch up from the norm of the other fast casual chain restaurants surrounding BKK. (Filipino friends, the BKK sausage reminds me of Longanisa haha)

Yelp
Support local. I love finding these gyms near home. BKK has been a true hidden gem. Right off the 405, this is my goto spot for a quick stop for Thai food. Both take out and dine in have been equally excellent. The menu is great, something for all tastes... prices are on par with the quality of the food. The staff is friendly, the front of the house is always clean. The soups are all excellent, but I really enjoy the Shrimp wonton soup. The Kao Mon Gai Tod (Fried Chicken over ginger rice) is sooooo good.... it's a flattened piece of chicken, deep fried and sliced, served over the ginger rice... I love the Pad See Ew with Shrimp and well, everything I've had there is great.
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
Parking is easy here and it's really easy to find the restaurant. The restaurant itself is an okay size, with just a bunch of tables lined along the wall. Workers aren't incredibly friendly, but service was good and they made sure to check if I needed more water every so often. I ordered the Kao Mon Gai (steamed chicken) and it was so good. The rice was super garlicy and flavorful, the chicken was super tender and juicy, the sauce that came with it was a little spicy and sweet, and that soup that came on the side was really good, but also really peppery. I wish they gave more cucumber salad with the dish, but it still was really good. I'll definitely be back for the Kao Mon Gai!

Yelp
Placed an order for takeout. We got their ka prow with chicken and pad kee mow. We ordered both on their spicy side. Usually when we've ordered ka prows at other Thai restaurants, it comes grounded but We were disappointed how it was full chicken slices. Which was fine but a bit on the drier side. Flavor was decent and spices were okay. We wished that by ordering spicy they would mix in the spices for us instead of just having a spoonful on top that we had to mix it in ourselves.
google avatar

Jynelle Christine S.

Yelp
My coworker and I ordered to go from here for lunch and I got the Thai sausage and fried chicken with ginger rice. The food was great, I've never had something like the ginger rice before but it was so flavorful and the ginger was not over powering at all. It balance with the chicken, sweet and sour sauce perfectly. As for the service, it's was ok - the food was ready when we got there though we did notice we were missing 1 of our items so we had to remind the waitress. Other than that it was quick and easy to pick up! The inside is very nice but FYI there not much seating and is a little small. I kinda liked it though cause it did gives off street food stall vibes! There is extra seating outside but it definitely isn't as nice as the inside.

Yelp
I wanted to grab some lunch to kill time until our late flight at LAX. After some searching on Yelp, we ended up at BKK Street Thai Eatery and I'm glad we did! The restaurant is located in a larger plaza so there's plenty of parking. Inside, it is smaller with just a handful of tables. Probably wouldn't be great for a huge group. I would recommend to at least call ahead of time if you'll be dining with a group of 8 or more. It's a great option for lunch! They've got a variety of combo plates for $12 - $14 and it's plenty of food. + Yellow Curry lunch special: came with rice and a veggie roll. Pretty good! I feel like yellow curry is pretty consistent whatever Thai place I go to and this one did not disappoint. + shrimp pad Thai lunch special: came with a veggie roll. Pretty generous portion and loved all the flavor. I only got a taste since my husband ordered this one but it almost made me wish I got that instead. Since we arrived for lunch on a Wednesday, it wasn't so busy and the service was really quick. Appreciated the staff banter, always makes interactions more fun. I'd come back!

Yelp
The food here is pretty good for Thai food and the price point is awesome ($14 for Pad Thai). I will say it's super no frills and the food is on the sweeter side. The pad Thai is pretty sweet and saucey. If you prefer dry pad Thai this is not going to be a favorite of yours. That being said I typically don't like the more ketchup tasting pad Thai but this one was still quite tasty. It's also unique in my opinion because it comes with chunks of red onions and I feel like that's not typical at the other Thai places I have been. I also got the panang curry. This was tasty but thin and had huge chunks of just chicken and red pepper. I typically like when there are other things in my curry, it's a bit thicker, and the contents are smaller. Staff is super friendly and the food comes out fresh and hot. Pretty decent option.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review but their food is pretty solid. They have another location on Venice blvd in LA. They have a lunch menu that comes with egg roll on the side with the main course. But I judge Thai restaurants on their pad Thai and panang curry. Because those are typical items I think most Thai restaurants have. Sometimes the pad Thai in places is a bit bland and the noodles sometimes are overcooked, this was perfect and you can make it spicy if you want. While the panang you can have beef, chicken, tofu, shrimp, veggie... this opted for beef and the meat was tender but the curry... that's what I'm judging. It was slightly sweet, coconut-ty with a roasted peanut taste. It has a depth to the flavor of the curry. And they just put bell pepper although I do like potatoes and carrots but sometimes too much takes away from the curry. I've also had the chicken rice and it's okay. There is flavor especially with the sauces with my favorite being the ginger one. Their papaya salad is good too and medium spice has a good punch to it. The dining area is small but it was perfect for lunch. They are also quick with to-gos. Overall this is a place I would go more than once.

Mark De D.

Yelp
Asked for mild and got the food home. It was so spicy. Cracked red spice on top. Called to asked why it's so spicy, she said she would talk to the cook. Left me on hold while she went about her business. Heard her take orders. Nothing resolved. Also bought specialty ice tea. Half lemonade. I saw the pitcher I'm pretty sure it was country time lemonade.

Yelp
Food is tasty & fresh. We ordered the tofu tom yum, yellow curry, and tom kha gai & we're very satisfied. We additionally ordered a Thai iced coffee and Thai iced tea. Very delicious. Clean space. Friendly service. Thai street style ambiance. Family friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful Thai food. Lots of delicious flavors to the dishes. The green bean chicken and beef curry panang were excellent. The chicken satay was perfectly cooked and seasoned. And the Tom Kah coconut soup with shrimp was perfect!
google avatar

Francisco M.

Yelp
Usually order pick up from here never dined in. First of all there is plenty of parking and it's easy to get here. They are consistent with there flavors. Things I've tried and love is there chicken coconut soup and shrimp fried rice. I will continue to order from here.
google avatar

Ayoung P.

Yelp
Yummy! Anything on the menus are so delicious 9-10 average. Their chicken rice is so simple but so good always. Their medium spicy level can be little spicy ( 7/10 level) but so tasty.
google avatar

Ani A.

Yelp
Pretty solid. A few friends and I ordered from here. I got the pad Thai and I enjoyed it. My friend got a soup and he liked it. I tried it and it was absolutely delicious. Another friend got the spicy basil noodles he said it wasn't super spicy but it was delicious. I ordered the egg rolls. The rolls were delicious but the sauce on the side was alright. The mango sticky rice was good. The rice was a bit hard for my taste but the flavor was good. I would've liked the mangos to be peeled from the skin but still really good and fresh. We ordered all this online and when we showed up 15 minutes later it was all ready. Overall solid experience. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I order takeout from this restaurant often and it is always a wonderful experience. Food is ready quickly, is always still piping hot when I pick it up, and it is delicious. Plus, the staff are so friendly!

Yelp
Found this place off Yelp. We called to ask specific questions about the menu before coming in. She sounded like she knew what we were inquiring about over the phone but it seemed unsure to us if she understood. We went anyway to try their food. It was our first time. The decor was nice and the ambiance felt welcoming. The server (Happi) was very friendly and polite. She was patient with us while we chose from the menu and she answered all the questions we needed. She was very helpful. We ordered from their lunch menu. The food was good. It was alright in taste. My only concern is that the portion (amount of food) was pretty small for the price we paid. Almost $50 for small plates and a drink. She was tipped well however. Very quick spot, you're in and out. Probably won't be back though. I wish the owners best of luck for the new year.
google avatar

Austin D.

Yelp
This is one of my go to spots for Thai food. Their pad see ew is my favorite and pad thai is also really good! Lots of flavor here. The curry is a bit runny but still solid. The inside is small with a few tables but I would say this is more of a takeout place or to eat with a friend or two. The inside is decorated cool giving a street vibe. Service is good.
google avatar

Hunny H.

Yelp
Our first time here, we came to try it after the RAMS game and I knew from the pictures it was going to good, but it was even better. It's a small restaurant but those are usually the best places to find authentic food. Every item we ordered came out delicious and flavorful. If you're in the area, you have to drop in and try it. Or order for take-out since it's pretty busy. And you know it's authentic when the level of spicy is right .
google avatar

Brandon G.

Yelp
This is a cozy, well-managed small restaurant. There are around 8-9 tables. Not suitable for big group gathering. It was our first try. We ordered dishes from the lunch special. Both were good. The manager was busy running in and out taking care of everything and still managed to take our order. Personally, I really like the ambiance of the restaurant. Will come back again.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
hm. honestly? everything was just mid. service was barely there, never got checked on once except towards the end to get our check. ambiance was fine if not a bit dim and cold. food presentation was nice but actual taste was hit or miss. some dishes were too salty or too sweet or too dry. pricing was standard. not sure why this place is rated so high, probably won't be back. edit: came back to knock off one star. food gave us really bad indigestion and diarrhea.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
Amazing food! Authentic, flavorful and varied. We had the pad Thai, Tom kha soup and chicken satay dinner with the ginger rice which I fell in love with! Marking this place right off the 405 to come back soon!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
My taste buds were gnawing at me for crab fried rice AND wonton soup for lunch. Problem is, I've tried a few Thai places within a 3 mile radius for one or the other and those places weren't something I wanted to experience again as I remember all of them being sorta just above mediocre. So, with Yelp to the rescue, I found this place. And funny enough, I actually had them bookmarked! Strapped with time, I did an online order for pick up. So, I zoomed through and arrived about 5 minutes earlier from my requested pick up time, but my food was good and ready to go. It was a ten minute drive back to work, and somehow my food remained hot HOT, so gotta give 'em credit for their packaging skills. WONTON SOUP: You have the option to spice this to your own preferred level. I chose no spice because I didn't want it to alter the experience or the taste I was looking for. That said, the broth had depth and was delicious. The wontons were homemade and was packed and stuffed well. Seasoning was spot on. It truly hit the spot! CRAB FRIED RICE: I asked for no fillers (no carrots, no peas - I know they're normally not on Thai style fried rice, but just making sure) as well as no tomatoes (because I'm just gonna end up setting them aside to be thrown away, so I didn't wanna waste it.) They complied and it made every bite of this rice so delicious. It's really a meal in itself. Perfectly seasoned and they do use real crab. (I'd know because there were teenee bits of crab shells on one of my bites. NOT A BAD THING, I'm just putting it out there as a warning.) Like the soup, it also hit the spot! FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. Very little interaction, but they followed my order down to the tee. VALUE: 3.5. Slightly pricey but kinda worth it to satisfy a craving. PARKING: Shared with many others. It could get busy during the lunch rush, but spots opened up often enough that it may not even be an issue. OVERALL: 4.25. This is one of those moments one is glad of moody hAnger pangs. I'm happy for the discovery and next time I'm n the mood for one, the other or both, I'm here.

Yelp
This place was great, I saw a photo of another Yelper's steamed chicken rice and immediately wanted to come here. For me the Hainan chicken rice is a nostalgic dish and I've seen Thai restaurants make a similar version (with different dipping sauces to the Hainan version). When we arrived, it was fairly empty, there were maybe 6ish tables inside and we took our pick. The menu had quite a decent selection of dishes, but I was already set on the steamed chicken rice. We got a small Tom Kha soup with tofu to share as well. The flavors were spot on and definitely hit the spot! The soup came piping hot and was the perfect mild heat, which was what we asked for. Generous bits of tofu and tomato were in the soup. My chicken rice was fantastic. The star of this dish is typically the rice actually and the garlic and chicken flavors really came out in the rice. I liked their Thai version green dipping sauce as well. There was definitely enough for me to take half back for later, great value and spot on flavors!
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
Thai food was flavorful but lean more toward a sweeter side for American palate. Staff were very helpful and our food came out in ten minutes. Ambiance is full of decor of Thai eatery items and colors around the wall. Great deal for lunch specials!

Bill C.

Yelp
Imagine walking into a barbershop and telling the barber you like your hair, nice and short. The barber shaves your head. That's more or less what happened to me today I ordered pad Thai and shrimp fried rice and told the waiter that I like my food spicy. Without exaggeration, she literally poured about 30 tablespoons of chili powder on top of my food and said here you go extra spicy. My food was ruined and I feel like they did it intentionally. No one in their right mind would feed someone that much chili powder. Unless they were trying to ruin the food Aside from the 30 table spoons of chili powder, food looked great
google avatar

Erik T.

Yelp
The food was okay. Not the best but not the worst. Staff was friendly. I would recommend the Pad See Ew.

Bryant F.

Yelp
Employee or owner lied about an items food description on DoorDash so when I ordered it and picked it up he told me they didn't have it. When I showed proof of the misleading description employee did not care and told me to figure it out with DoorDash. My order was $25 and DoorDash refunded me $1.59 for the incorrect item.
google avatar

Pole K.

Yelp
The food wasn't good. The "large" size soup is really not large, it's barley for one person. The papaya salad with salted crab was very fishy...not quality crab or fish sauce. The accompanying cabbage had the flavor of Clorox. We had to ask for water when they automatically brought it to other tables. They also charge a "room fee" of 15% Not coming back here
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Ordered it through Postmates and it took less than 20 minutes to come and it was still pipping hot. Opening them and the steam was still coming out which made me happy to know it was that fresh. The portions on the rice + pad Thai were perfect for me, and I was able to have multiple meals from leftovers. This was the first time I had the spices on the side to mix in yourself but it was kinda nice because you can taste the flavor of the food before and see if you want to add it. I ordered medium spicy, and it was more like mild. So next time I'll probably try the level up for more of a kick Only thing is I asked for utensils and didn't receive any or napkins. Surprisingly everything was good, and I have no complaints!
google avatar

Irene Q.

Yelp
Food was delicious and freshly made. Service was good. Ambiance was fun and vibrant. We ordered Pad See Ew, crab fried rice, pad Thai, and fried pork. All the dishes were done well. Will be back.

Ridge D.

Yelp
The best Thai food in the South Bay hands down. Service was phenomenal, cannot wait to go back. Feels like a little bit of Thailand in the South Bay. Massaman curry, tom kha soup, pad see ew and cashew chicken were all top notch
google avatar

Trisha D.

Yelp
Food is pretty good, but I've had slightly better versions at other places in South Bay. They gave us a GREAT service, but there was a small incident with another customer (see below) They should update the Yelp/google hours to correctly reflect their times. They stop taking orders after 9, although you can dine-in till 9:30. Bkk sausage: flavorful spices and slightly tangy. Wish it came with a sauce. We were recommended to have this with the sticky rice and papaya salad. Papaya salad with crab: good, but have had better. It was pretty pungent so I would probably get the regular one next time. Dip sticky rice in the sauce. Pad Kee Mow with chicken: tasty with good amount of veggies. Thai iced tea: pretty good, and on par with one of my favorite places. Could be slightly less sweet. Banana fritters with coconut ice cream: banana fritters were warm, crispy and delicious. But the coconut ice cream was icy, bit too sweet, and needed more coconut flavor. Service: they gave us GREAT recommendations and very friendly. We even got a free drink to try! We saw a customer come in after 9pm to order and I think in that confusion/questioning by the customer, there was a heated back and forth between her and the host. She said she wouldn't come back again. This restaurant really needs to list their hours correctly based on when they stop accepting orders so people don't drive out of their way. It could have also been handled with more sensitivity. Ambience: small area with a few seats that are close to the counter/cooking area. But a nice casual vibe for a sit-down meal. Parking: plenty

Yelp
First and last time to order food from here ... I've eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants all of the country and this is by far one of the worst Thai food I've ever had. The color of the Phad Thai was pinkish, the fried rice was awful , it looked like they just dumped a bunch of spices on top. Sorry not all reviews will be good... that's my opinion .
google avatar

Bobby N.

Yelp
We drive by this little mall often whenever going to Costco and I had no idea this place was here. I chose to dine in and I could nit understand why this place wasn't packed... There was a stream of people coming in to order take-out, but I am not sure why they weren't sitting down to eat. The decor has a few "street" elements and a street telephone stand and street lights. Tables are clean and neatly spaced. Bench is more comfortable than chairs. The person taking our order and serving our food was very patient, smiled and made me feel like the food was authentic Thai by how she described some dishes. The food... yes! This tastes like authentic Thai flavors... we ordered their fresh rolls, beef stew curry, pad thai, tom kah and cashew nut chicken... all were delicious... Tom Kah stood out (so much so that we ate it before I could take a photo... and the panang curry beef did too. Dishes are on the small size, but they are all reasonably priced. So plan to order one dish additional dish if you are very hungry. Also... a fresh coconut was very refreshing!

Yelp
one of my go-to place for quick & kind service! i come at 2-3 times a week & brought family members + friends here. everyone always love the flavorful food & its always hot n ready. i think yelp reviewers are too harsh & don't appreciate this locally owned restaurant which mimics the street life dining in thailand! anyways, the papaya salad is a MUST, all the appetizers are yummy, the mango sticky rice is perfect EACH time best place to come if you're into local hidden gem
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
The food is pretty great here and very quick service too. It was my first time coming here since I'm not usually in California. Come check it out if you love Thai food. Very flavorful food.

Yelp
Tried several items for dinner tonight and they left much to be desired. My Kao Mon Gai was smaller portioned and dried out to the point where I leaned entirely on the sauces to make it enjoyable. The Pad See Ew's run-of-the-mill flavors were outdone only by the anemic, dry chicken. Finally, the roti curry was simply too oily. Perhaps other dishes are better, but we unfortunately went 0 for 3.

Yelp
Wow walked in on a Sunday evening and just like I thought, this place is a hole in the wall! Both pricing was affordable and food so delicious !! Staff was very friendly and we got the food quickly. I will definitely be coming back again.

Yelp
Omg the food was amazing, I wish I had taken a photo of all our items, but we were starving. The food was amazing, my picky kids loved it as well. The service was impeccable, she was happy and very attentive. The place was very clean and cozy. Thank BKK for our food we had a perfect night.

Yelp
We came to fourth street market for a tasting event and this was my favorite dish of the night. They already had it prepared in little takeaway boxes and it was still so delicious. We had the chicken and rice- there was half steamed and half fried. There was amazing flavor and the ginger rice was a perfect touch. We also had a side of the noodles but I'm not sure which one they were-They were spicy but still yummy and had some veggies to balance out the carbs. Will be back to eat a full meal here soon.

Yelp
Great flavors. Spicy was on point. Meat quality is good. I am picky about Thai and this place checks many boxes.

Yelp
Fast and take out for lunch. I really enjoyed the beef skewers and sticky rice! The price was very reasonable.
