The 38 Best Restaurants in Toronto, Canada | Eater

"Housed inside the former Toronto Stock Exchange building, this splashy steakhouse is unabashedly over-the-top with its soaring library wall of spirits, multi-million dollar meat locker (including Japanese A5 wagyu), and cushy banquette dining. Egyptian restaurateur Emad Yacoub, who runs a meticulous roster of venues in Vancouver and Toronto, has come a long way since earning $4 per hour when he first landed in Canada. He spared no expense at Black & Blue, spending millions on the space and bringing on chef Morgan Bellis to offer showy, table-side Caesar salads, hand-cut beef Wellington, eyebrow-singeing flambees, and splashy seafood towers. Best for: Steakhouses can be expensive, but Black and Blue’s weekday lunch prix fixe (main course with either an appetizer or a dessert) goes for just $48 Canadian." - Tiffany Leigh

The place was super dark inside and the vibe was a bit awkward. I had to send my steak back, and it took about 15 minutes for the replacement to come out. By then, my sides were cold. They offered me a plate so I could eat while waiting, but it was literally just mushrooms. Then they ended up bringing me a birthday dessert… but it was actually my anniversary. For the prices, I expected way better. If you want a high quality steak that’s worth the money, go to Buffalo Chophouse instead.

Google
Elegant ambiance, consistent with other Black & Blue locations. I ordered the steak, which was perfectly prepared and well presented. The mashed potatoes on the side were decent but could have been a bit creamier and smoother. The crab dip with bread, calamari, and meatballs were all outstanding. Service was prompt and attentive through.

**Edited as I thought I wrote a review previously. We went here to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. The steak eaters all commented that their meal was possibly the best steak they had in a restaurant. I think every one of our 9 people ate as much as they could as everything was outstanding. Take-out containers were needed but it was not for a lack of trying. The service was smooth and took care of every need, often before being asked. Great job. It was our first time there and we all plan to come back.

We’ve been here three times. It was the place of our second date as a couple, and now we came back as husband and wife, so it’s very special to us. This time, my steak wasn’t cooked as I ordered at first, but a waiter noticed right away and brought me a new one — and it turned out to be the best steak we’ve ever had!💞

Google
First time there. Calamari ($18) was disappointing, very rubbery and chewy and the dip for it was so spicy it made my gums and lips swell. It took a good 20-30 minutes for the sting in my mouth to go away! I got the sea scallops ($44) with cacio e pepe risotto. The 3 scallops it came with were good but the risotto was just okay, didn't taste at all like cacio e pepe though. My husband got the wagyu steak ($75 for just the 12oz steak) which was really good, a little too salty though. We got a side of mashed potatoes ($10) which were good. We were waiting for waitress to come over so we could see the dessert menu, but our waitress came over with dessert before we could see what they offered. They gave us a flourless chocolate torte for our anniversary that was good, very rich, probably not what I would have ordered, I'm not sure what is on their dessert menu still. All in all, it was a nice meal but don't think it was worth the cost of it. Giancarlo's is way better quality food with similar prices. Service was ok, didn't check on us enough.

Really expected more. Got a 90 day dry aged ribeye and it had 0 funk that dry aged steaks typically have. Not sure if they got the order wrong but it was so disappointing compared to others I have had even ones dry aged for 45 days. The sear was too much in places and was burnt, it was nice and medium rare but the burnt edges and lack of flavor killed it. Service and atmosphere were top notch but the steak itself was one of the most disappointing things I’ve ever eaten. Oysters were great though! $300 for two people that both ordered the dry aged ribeye and were equally disappointed.

It was our first time two Black and Blue. The overall atmosphere is pretty nice! Our waitress was good but her helper was top notch. We had a reservation so getting seated was not an issue. Nice selection of steaks and seafood. We tried to bistro steak and the fillet, both of which were delicious. Nice wine selection. The cauliflower was surprisingly good.

Had the Wagyu steak and was not impressed. Had hash browns that tasted rather greasy, Mexican street corn was good but hate cilantro, Mac and cheese was ok. Best park was the unfiltered cider mango peach!

Yelp
Black and Blue Steak and Crab never fails to deliver. Tonight I ordered the Red Snapper. It was served on a bed of potato-blue crab hash, sautéed onion, green beans and lemongrass curry. I asked for no toasted coconut. My fish was delicious and quite filling. Our wait staff helper was very attentive, asking if we wanted the bread basket refilled. I did have to ask for my iced tea to be refilled. Not a lot of tea in the glass; a lot of ice! It is my birthday month so when we made the reservation, this was noted. The restaurant has a wonderful flourless chocolate cake. We shared a 1/2 sized serving. It is a wonderful way to end the meal, rich, decadent and delicious.

Yelp
Once again a great dinner. The menu got an upgrade, not all new dishes, some are old favorites with a new twist. I choose the black grouper. The generous piece of fish comes on a bed of charred scallion jasmine sticky rice. Around the plate is a ring of sriracha honey glazed carrots. It all "swims" in a very nice lobster broth. The dish had a variety of flavors and a little kick (I think it was the broth). I had a glass of Pinot Grigio with my dinner. We'll be back there soon.

Yelp
Pro: Absolutely delicious food. My wife loved her black grouper, our cousin devoured the scallops, and my pork chop with apple cider topping, snow peas and mashed potatoes (I asked for them instead of the sweet potato mash) was divine. Neutral: service was ok. Con: Could someone please turn on the lights?

Yelp
I enjoy eating at this steakhouse any time I'm in Williamsville. Black & Blue always delivers an upscale experience with attentive service and great ambiance. To start, the bread basket is wonderful, especially my favorite - the pretzel bread. The lobster toast was ok, but it could've used a little more season IMO. For my main, I had a surf and turf with lobster tail and ribeye, which were solid choices. Drinks were also perfectly balanced and well-executed. I ended with cheesecake for dessert, which was not overly sweet and a good way to end the meal. Overall, Black & Blue is a solid dinner choice and will happily be back!

Yelp
I'm giving five stars simply because the wait staff were the most calm, kind, and professional individuals I have ever witnessed. Especially on this particular night, they really handled some difficult scenarios with class. Really great work. The food was amazing too.

Yelp
Came for our anniversary. When making the reservation online I selected anniversary in the drop down asking if it was a special occasion. The hostesses and waitress both acknowledged it was our anniversary and they gave us each a complimentary glass of champagne. Got the ribeye, it was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. We split the creamed kale and mushrooms for sides. Both were great. I had the peanut butter budino for dessert. It was great.

Yelp
8/5 /25 It has been awhile since we have to Black & Blue. We came here tonight for our 30th. anniversary. I called and asked if we could have a private dinner and Miranda said she would accommodate us and she did with arranging for us to be in a room that is only used on weekends. It was a wonderful night with a special treat of glasses of Champaign and a little note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The waiter staff was great and our food was awesome. I had filet mignon with half Maine lobster and my husband had a Delmonico. Cooked to perfection. Thank you for a special dinner!!!!! Christine & Terry

Yelp
First time dining here, made reservations so was seated promptly. Our server Katie was great, very nice and informative about the menu. Food came out quickly and everything was amazing. Dishes were cleared from our table quickly and good atmosphere!

Yelp
This place is top tier, my husband and I were blown away by the service and ambience of B&B we will be back ! We both got a tomahawk steak and added a fresh water lobster tail. The steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster tail wash juicy and fresh. The food is amazing. All around had a great time. We will be back

Yelp
If you're in need of an upscale meal in the Northtowns, black & blue is your best bet. My boyfriend and I ate here for a nice, "just because" dinner. The service was really great and the restaurant is beautiful. We started with the calamari which were fresh and delicious. I had the scallops and risotto for dinner, and I was thoroughly impressed. The scallops were so tender, you didn't even need a knife to cut through them. My boyfriend got a ribeye paired with crab -- he loved both. We also got a side of mac and cheese, though he did most of the eating as I was so full. We didn't get dessert tonight, but they sent us off with complimentary chocolate truffles. A nice touch! Though the food here comes at a higher price point, I thought it was worth every penny. Whether you're celebrating or just want a night out with delicious food, I think black & blue might be just the right place.

Yelp
Lovely evening here. Great ambiance, great tuna tartar and wedge salad and the front of house and service were some of the best Ive experienced. Thanks to Jennifer and whole staff. Thanks Shelly for the great service. Thanks for the great anniversary. We'll be back.

Yelp
I am so full I can barely move! Started with a drink called lavender 75, definitely different- very refreshing. Chopped salad with blue cheese, bacon and roasted chick peas for a little crunch. The entree was black grouper with artichokes and olives over a pesto sauce/ very moist and flavorful. The grand finale/ peanut butter budino with chocolate ganache and Reese cups was incredible and a great Finnish! The interior of this restaurant is very subdued with mood lighting making a peaceful pleasant atmosphere- very chic! Dinner is at a very nice relaxed pace so you can really enjoy your meal . Molly was our awesome waitress, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable she made our meal even more special. We have been here several times before and will be back/ never disappointed!

Yelp
When I arrived at Black & Blue Steak & Crab, I noted it to be located within a very large modern-looking structure with only B & B emblazoned as its front sign. When we entered, we were immediately given a warm greeting and then escorted to a comfortable banquette table we selected in the car/lounge area. The interior of Black & Blue is of a high-tasting modern décor exuding a comfortable atmosphere and pleasing to the eye. I ordered a gin Gibson up and settled in to review their menu. Reading the menu was a delight as it contained all of my culinary interests and then some. With starters like oysters, tuna tartare, and a crab and lobster fondue, along with she-crab soup, it had me salivating right off the bat. But then my waiter came over and mentioned a special of seared scallops on a creamy risotto. Wow! I couldn't resist and immediately ordered it for my entree. Meanwhile, Beloved ordered his usual, a filet mignon to be done Pittsburgh-style medium with a gorgonzola cream sauce. My scallops arrived in good presentation, perfectly seared with the most delicious creamed risotto I've ever had. And, Beloved said his filet was deliciously outstanding. He even gratuitously offered me a bit, which I tried and must say I agree. With great food, good drinks, top-notch service, and a comfortable atmosphere, I'm giving Five Yelp Stars for Black & Blue Steak & Crab.

Yelp
We hadn't been to this spot in years so we were excited to try it out again and it didn't let us down! Our waitress was great and the restaurant was super comfortable. We had oysters, pork belly, and meatballs to start and they were all delicious. My favorite was the pork belly, it was so crispy and flavorful. For dinner we had steaks along with mac and cheese and street corn sides. The steaks were all 10/10 and cooked perfectly. The orzo mac and cheese didn't really live up to our expectations but still tasted yummy. I'd try different sides next time!

Yelp
Ashley was our server, she was very sweet and knowledgeable. Lighting is dimmed in the place. Not so much that you can't see, but a nice warm tone. We got seated in the little room off to the side, which I enjoyed a lot. It was much quieter in there than the main restaurant. The fireplace also created a very cozy feel. The chairs however... they look nice but they were very uncomfortable for my back. Leaning back was too far, and sitting up without any support was a little painful for me. Moscato 6/10 NOT one of the sweet ones so I was a little disappointed. Cherry vanilla old fashioned 10/10 Tastes like cherry coke with a good whiskey in it. I think the maraschino cherries may have also been soaked in alcohol? Pork Belly 8/10 Ginger sauce was very gingery and a gritty texture. Not a huge fan. Slaw tastes like I'm eating flowers kinda? Did not like this. The pork belly was cooked nicely and very juicy. The glaze on the meat is really good, it has a little sweetness to it and a really nice flavor. The micro cilantro (I think) adds a really nice fresh flavor on there if you get a little piece of it! Filet Mignon, medium 7/10 Great cook of the meat and very tender, but flavor wise it's very bland I think. It's seasoned, but I feel like it was just cooked plain to where the seasonings didn't flavor the meat, they just kind of got browned/charred off. I feel like the meat needed to be spooned with a compounded herb butter for sure... (the rosemary garnish could have also been cooked in the butter to add flavor and then placed on the meat or the plate as a garnish after). (Yes I understand that due to the lack of fat in the cut of meat, it's not as flavorful... but the spooning of butter would help immensely... I've done it at home and it's came out fantastic). Ribeye, medium rare 9/10 Good cook on the meat and very tender. Each bite has a slightly different flavor to it. Some are bland, some are really buttery and really flavorful, just depends. The couple bites that I tried were really great and a lot of flavor and juiciness in the fat. Mexican style street corn 8/10 Little spicy. I like when you get that little bit of sauce from the bottom of the boat. And when you get a bite of that micro cilantro it's delicious and refreshing! I do wish the corn was charred or grilled a lot more. I think I only saw a handful of kernels that looked charred. Gorgonzola cream 9/10 The Gorgonzola doesn't come through super strong and bitter which is actually nice. The creaminess kinda tamed it down a little. Really good sauce. Black truffle butter 5/10 Kinda bland. I do not really taste truffle at all which I thought that was super strange since truffle is typically a stronger more potent flavor. As far as the taste, it wasn't bad, but because of the lack of truffle I think I have to take some points away. Vanilla Bean Crème brûlée 9/10 Good flavor and consistency of the custard. The vanilla bean is all along the bottom edges of the cup, which I thought would have been incorporated in the custard. Although the food wasn't terrible, I personally don't have a need to come back here ever again.

Yelp
My husband treated me to a birthday dinner here on February 15. The food here in general is excellent. The steak is delicious. The servers were attentive. The side order of french fries asked for crispy were awful and soggy. May be the worst I ever ate, but I dont like to make a fuss. The main problem was not the food or the service. The chairs are awful. Unless you are 110 pounds, your butt will not fit in the chairs. I am not a skinny woman, but I am also not obese. If you go here ask for a banquette, otherwise you wil be VERY unhappy.

Yelp
Always good food at a fair price. Chris and Cameron were amazing. This is an upscale restaurant yet does not try to over do it. Been there many times.

Yelp
Lovely all around. Service was impeccable. Food was even better. Perfectly seasoned and complimented.

Yelp
We went to celebrate 45 th wedding anniversary ! !They gave us complimentary glasses of champ which was nice of them! It is a classic, comfortable place! But a bit dark so if your old make sure your phone is charges you'll need the light! The wife started with the Cobb salad, it was a great size and loaded with everything you'd want on it, she loved it ! we shared the sweet potato dumplings, they were delicious but heavy , we thought dumpling would be lighter! loved it! I started with the she crab soup WOW ! It was decadently delicious , creamy, rich full flavored! The wife had the black grouper which was amazing, tender very flavorful! I opted for the ribeye steak! This was my dilemma - it was absolutely delicious, cooked a perfect medium rare, juicy, tender very flavorful but salty! I was arguing in my head about saying it was too salt but it had awesome flavor, but salty but awesome??? Well when the very friendly and fun waitress asked I blurted out it was awesome but salty ! She was so sorry , wanted to bring me a new one but I already ate half of it so I didn't feel right doing that plus it was again awesome but salty hehe so I sad no thanks. She said next time tell them to use less salt and I will if there is a next time!

Yelp
The interior is 5 stars. The service is spot on. The menu is excellent. The food tastes great. The only thing keeping this from being a direct competitor to Russell's is location. Perfect for 'date night' or special occasions. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Delicious every time ! Service is always amazing .. disappointed they took a few of our favorites off the menu , but we have learned to find others . Portions are big so sharing the sides is never an issue !

Yelp
My husband and I decided on Black and Blue for our 3rd wedding anniversary dinner. It was definitely a great experience and therefore, I decided to update my previous review. We had reservations, but probably didn't need them for a Wednesday night. The restaurant wasn't crowded. However, it was well staffed, which nowadays is a big deal. The hostess took us to our table right away and our server came over shortly after that. My husband must've mentioned it was our anniversary in the reservation because they already knew and had prepared a free champagne toast for us. I also ordered a glass of moscato while my husband got a cocktail. Dinner was an easy choice for me as I was craving red meat but didn't want a steak...half a rack of lamb it was! My husband wanted some king crab but was horrified by the market price. Just to add it to a steak would've be over $60. He chose a nice red snapper instead, which he enjoyed. My lamb arrived sizzling and the plate was hot to the touch. However, the meat itself was edible immediately and so delicious that I almost teared up. I easily could've eaten a whole rack, but that wasn't an option. Fortunately, my husband ordered French fries for us to split and they came in a giant tureen. Good to split for a family of six, I thought, but not for two people who already had entrees. Still a good plan though, since I was still hungry after my lamb. It just wasn't enough food. It's a little off in here, too. It's dark and the decor is strange. However, the staff is attentive and excellent at what they do. The food is also marvelous. Some portions are probably just bigger than others. I don't recommend seafood due to price unless you want to splurge. This is a great restaurant to do that at if you DO want to spend a lot, either to impress a date or client for work. Overall, this restaurant has great food and is worth a try regardless of what you like to eat. Tell them Christy H sent you!

Yelp
I'm holding back a star or two because I'm feeling a bit ripped off. the $45, 8-10 ounce lobster tail add-on had 4 ounces of meat, at best. It looked like they actually cut off the front portion. I wish I would have taken pictures and regret not complaining at the time. Lesson learned! Everything else was great! The filet and rack of lamb were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We Loved the ambience and our server was attentive.

Yelp
Decided to come for Valentines Day dinner again and it did not disappoint. What I would say however is that in both instances I ate here my steak was over cooked. And my friends felt his was undercooked. Perhaps order a level down from usual. If it's undercooked it can always be cooked a tad longer .. but over cooked, it's a wash lol They also added pretzel bread since my last visit which was yummy. And I tried the cauliflower and that was excellent. None of us cared for the fries as they were wayyyyyy too salty. And for me, the mashed potatoes had too much pepper. Overall a lovely experience and I will likely be back again next Valentines Day.

Yelp
Recently dined at Black and Blue Restaurant for a fellow friend birthday. We had Rebecca J as a waiter. The service was underwhelming to say the least. Rebecca appeared to annoyed when attending the table. When my fellow colleague asked for her dessert to packed to go as she did not finish it. Rebecca blatantly rolled her eyes at my colleague. Rebecca physically tossed the check at my friend who was closest to her instead of simply handing the check to him. Rebecca made us feel unwelcome. As someone who has graduated from Culinary school; the service was lacking to say the least. The food was good overall. Everyone steak was cooked appropriately.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!!! Every course was prepared beautifully and flavorful. I wasn't a fan of the lemon rissotto but I think that was my own preference as the rest of the table liked it. Fresh and amazing in every bite. Atmosphere is romantic with the indoor fireplaces. Quiet and classy

Yelp
Received a gift card for this restaurant and decided to use it for our Anniversary. The service is outstanding! From Gabby, our server's helper, to Becky our server. The food is delicious as well. No complaints whatsoever.

Yelp
Took that family out to celebrate my daughters birthday. This place used to be one of our favorite spots for those type of events as well as dinner out with the wife and corporate work functions. We averaged probably 4-5 visits a year since they opened. Unfortunately after the latest experience on 9/24/23, it will no longer be a place we choose. Service was just awful, food was wrong and offered little in the way of trying to make it right. While I get service is down everywhere, this was down right appalling for a $500+ dinner and really out a damper on what was supposed to be a nice family evenin. Not wanting to make a scene that night, I emailed the managers Jennifer Waldron and Brandon Hill the next day to inform them of the horrible experience. Jennifer responded and offered a $200 gift card. Hardly makes up for the experience and price we paid that night but at least it was something. However after sending my address, the gift card never arrived. After a month I emailed again asking why it wasn't sent with no reply. There are just too many choices in Buffalo for fine dinning. While I might have given it a second chance had it felt like they were truly sorry and lived up to sending their gift card, I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to ever eat there again. Besides what I described, lack of specials and being out of items was also a turn off. If you decide to try it, please be warned and definitely don't accept Marii as your server. Good luck.

Mike S.

Yelp
When my sons and I went there, they just walked around us for like the first hour before they even came to give us drinks or menus. It's like we weren't even there and me and my two sons are not small people. My one son is 62 I wouldn't go there at all anymore and I don't recommend it for anybody, but if you got money and time to waste, they'll take it if I could give it minus stars I would definitely do it

Yelp
Came back tonight and had a very relaxing and delicious dinner. Our waiter, Chris, was courteous and came over right away to take our orders. To start, the bread was awesome, especially the pretzel roll! The she-crab soup was super creamy and tasty, and I really enjoyed my meal, the halibut special (for Lent) - absolutely delicious! We got two slices of pie to go and they held up well! Highly recommend if you're looking for good service, great food, and a romantic night out.

Yelp
After reading several reviews we decided to visit this restaurant while visiting Niagara Falls from out of state and it was a very good selection. The restaurant was really dark upon entering and we had to use our phones for light. We had a great waiter in Chris J and he was very attentive to our needs. For a main course I had thebKancity City Strip steak cooked medium. The cook was Oregon the med well side, but it was veryvtender and had a great flavor with the truffle butter. We had the mashed potatoes and street corn off the cob for sides. The street corn was really good with a nice little kick. My wife and the Salmon and really enjoyed it. For dessert we had the Molyen Chocolate cake. The size was more for four people and it was very rich and chocolately, but really good. The bill wasn't too bad and we definitely recommend.

Yelp
Usually this place is average amongst the steakhouses in the area. But today, I came in looking to eat at the bar (without a reservation) with my mother. We arrived and said we wanted to do the bar, to which the hostess said that several ppl at the bar were waiting for table reservations to clear up and he'd seat us instantly as those folks were getting up. This never happened. We would have left had they managed our expectations properly but ended up staying over an hour after they repeatedly told us we'd be seated shortly. We ended up leaving after an hour when the short gray haired snarky female hostess assured us that the two folks that looked like they were potentially wrapping up "were planning to have desert" with a smile on her face. She was super condescending. Simply rude behavior on Christmas Eve of all nights.

Yelp
This is High Class Steak and Seafood. Everything is seasoned to perfection with melt in your mouth tenderness. It cuts like soft paper and has a ver soft chew. The sides are all amazing with appetizers and desserts that will leave you feeling happy. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. The bar is tip of the lime with amazing drink options The place even feels upscale. I would highly recommend making this your once in a year splurge

Yelp
Food was amazing! I would say service was average the server came by twice. Restaurant has a very intimate setting. Restaurant is in the higher end side but it's worth its value.

Yelp
This is the first time my husband and I went to Black and Blue, and it will be the last. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks (bottled beer, we didn't even order any cocktails or draft..... it was bottled). We received the wrong steaks, i would expect maybe the temperature to be incorrect but not the whole cut! And when we tried to correct the mistake, our server was no where to be found. They were out of their two signature dishes, the bone in ribeye and the lobster tail. It was just overall very underwhelming. There are far better steakhouses in Buffalo.

Yelp
Came here recently to celebrate my birthday. It is a bit of a drive, but we were looking for something different than that other steakhouse in the north. We started with salads...I just love the chopped salad here. The crispy chick peas are something I never would seek out, but they definitely give a needed crunch. Bf got the Caesar and enjoyed it. I ended up getting the black grouper for my meal. It was fabulous! Really nice size piece of fish and it was cooked perfectly. The artichoke/olive/pesto/tomato's it was served with were the perfect flavors. BF had the Kansas City bone in strip and had nothing but good things to say. We had the orzo Mac (always!) and mashed as our sides. It was a great birthday meal and the service was top notch!

Yelp
Had made reservations ahead of time for a birthday dinner for my friend. I have heard nothing but good things about B&B. My first experience at B&B wasn't so good, but my friend wanted B&B so I had to give it another shot. Our reservations were for 7:45. It was pretty business at the time. We were greeted when we walked in and was sitted at our table right away. The restaurant itself is a really nice, high-end place. My food on the other hand wasn't so great. I wanted the king crab legs, they were all out . So I ordered a ceasar salad and lambchops. My lambchops were basically burnt. The salad and dinner bread was really good though.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for Valentines Day dinner last night. We ordered the crab bisque and mixed green salad which were great. However, we both ordered filet mignons, the 7 oz. and 10 oz., medium rare and were served blue steaks. The inside was completely raw and we ended up just asking for boxes instead of making it a big deal and sending them back. We were pretty disappointed as we have been looking forward to trying this restaurant. Our server was amazing though and very polite and attentive. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

Yelp
We were very unimpressed with this place. I had been looking forward to trying them out, and was definitely let down. My steak was over cooked and tough, everything was incredibly salty, and our server was not pleasant, to say the least. For the price, I can go out multiple times elsewhere and have meals that I actually enjoy, and a server who doesn't act like I'm bothering her by being there.

Yelp
The atmosphere was dark and cozy. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was great. I especially enjoyed the she-crab soup, the scallops, and the bread basket. The drink menu also had some unique offerings - I tried and loved a local ghost pepper cider. The prices were high, but the value good. I'm glad that the hotel concierge pointed me to this place during my visit to Tonawanda.

Yelp
Worst dinner for 5 we ever had! My $64 Porterhouse was rough and grizzled! My wife's Grouper was very small and overcooked and as "Dry as a Bone" Service was ok but for the almost $300 we spent, not enough to make up for the shitty meal!

Yelp
Horrible. Too dark for anyone to see. Our wait staff seemed to forget about us and they got the order wrong. Food is average at best. Too many other restaurants to enjoy for less money.

Yelp
The food was amazing, our waitress was so awesome and her assistant waiter was so kind and friendly as we. I have to say the service was amazing. The decor looked absolutely inviting. Not to bright and not to dark it was perfect. They also didn't over do it with the Christmas decorations as well. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that's looking for a romantic night out or even a night out with their kids too. They are also kid friendly as well.

Yelp
Great food and service. Expensive but top notch food and service make it worthwhile. I had the 10oz filet mignon which is served sizzling on a hot plate. Red wine Demi glacé left something to be desired. Bread is delicious and plentiful - we were offered multiple refills. Mashed potatoes are smashed with skins, making for a wonderful texture that compliments the steak nicely. The dining room is dark and romantic. The restaurant includes many booths with tall backs that make for a private, intimate meal.

Yelp
Expensive for mediocre steak and food. King crab portions small and maybe snow crab. Nice atmosphere and service was good however.

Yelp
It was the first time we were there. We planned on it being expensive and it was . The servers were great and the ambiance good although I would have preferred if it was not quite so dark.. We started with the she- crab soup which was quite good. We also got the crab fondue and another lobster appetizer. They were " ok". Standard rib-eye was exceptional. The upscale special would have been twice the price and we were very happy with the " standard". You should know there are no sides or other amenities. So if you want potatoes or asparagus it is about $14 for each item. They did not discourage sharing so my wife had part of the steak along with the lump crab. The other couple did likewise . We may go back but there are other choices.

Yelp
This is the second time I've been to this establishment. I ordered the half rack of lamb (medium rare) with bearnaise and king crab legs out of the shell with Brussel sprouts and a Caesar salad. My significant friend ordered a NY strip (medium well) with mac and cheese and a half lobster. Where do I start... The service is impeccable. Let me just say that my waiter Andreas (sp?) was on point and I really appreciated his professionalism. The food was severely lacking. Not just for the value, overall. The Caesar salad came out first and I noticed right away that the kitchen is serving bagged salad with shaved parm and barely toasted croutons. There was more stalk than lettuce and an actual romaine heart in my salad. My lamb came out almost blue, definitely not medium rare. Whoever plated it put the crab meat on top of the lamb so it continued cooking and by the time I got it, it had the consistency of a rubber tire. It was beautiful to look at but not so pleasing to the palate. The Brussel sprouts were charred but barely cooked, so they were delicious yet hard at the same time and ironically, probably the best bite of the whole dinner. The bearnaise was made with a more than normal ratio of lemon juice to butter and it suffered because of that. My friend's steak was also not done to his liking. It was definitely medium rare like my lamb should've been. Most of it went back to the kitchen. The mac? Breadcrumbs on the top of it. They serve absolutely no purpose and detracted from the creaminess that the mac should've had. I took one bite but it was so salty it was inedible. The kitchen remade it for us to go. We didn't even try it. It's also made with orzo. I have nothing against orzo, it just doesn't belong in mac and cheese because the pasta is too small. It's more of a grain. It would've benefited from cavatappi or a heartier spiral. The half lobster was the exact opposite of my crab - the tail was still somewhat mushy and we had to let it sit in the drawn butter to firm up. To give some points back to the restaurant, they did take the crab off the bill but we still spent $120 including the gratuity for what tasted like a first year culinary student's attempt at fine dining. I will probably not dine here again.
