Great food, great service. Arrived around 4:30 pm. on a Saturday and were seated right away. Hubby had the 10 oz. filet mignon, served on a sizzling metal plate. I had the Chilean Sea Bass special. Had asparagus, mashed potatoes, and au grain cauliflower for our sides. The appetizer was the pork belly. Everything was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. We would go back and try other dishes.

Google
Perfectly cooked steaks, aged well and offered with classic sides. Service was excellent. When my dining partner found he had made the reservation for the wrong night, front of house worked hard to find us a table anyway! After being seated, wedge salad, strip steak, and grouper were wonderful. It might be pricy, but in this case you get what you pay for. Perfection!

Google
Great dinner and service. For being in a plaza and not a stand alone establishment, the atmosphere inside is very cozy and customized. Staff were attentive and always checked in if we needed anything. The steak was unbelievable; started with the calamari (much spicier than anticipated) NY strip with black truffle butter. Cauliflower au gratin, mushrooms and ended off with sorbet. Wouldn’t mind coming here again.

I've been to this establishment many, many times, and I've never left a review. So, this is my go-to for a local steak & seafood restaurant in my neighborhood. Every time I've visited, it's always consistent. Their entrees are always cooked the way you like. In my other visits, I have purposely ordered different steaks, as well as different temperatures - Med-rare, medium, and medium-well. They've always been consistent. Their steak entrees are also 'ala cart', so sides are not included. However, their sides are family style, which serve 3 to 4 people. In addition to their steak and seafood entrees, they have a variety of other dishes. FYI - This is a very busy restaurant, so if you walk in without a reservation, you may have to wait a while.

Google
Excellent atmosphere and great service I took the mother in law out and was able to get reservations the day of which was of course great. Tthe food was phenomenal I had the wagyu ribeye and it was cooked perfectly but was slightly over salted, I was a little annoyed at the checkout portion the waiter seemed a little rushed to make sure my payment went through to the point I didn't get a chance to write the tip in which I did attempt to give, the buss boy was extremely polite as well (he should got the tip) I'll return on a less busy day to see 👀

Google
We have been here before and never disappointed. Today was slightly different. I always get the scallops, but it was the wrong choice today., The 3 small scallops arrived on an overcooked sticky bed of orzo that could have served 3 people. Originally the extra large scallops were served with a small glaze over them which was great and nothing else. Spending 44 dollars for the scallops which was really a bowl of orzo. . My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly, as was the asparagus and mashed potatoes were great. The service and ambiance were perfect. I suggest if you go don’t order the scallops because it’s just a bowl of mush with about 1-2 ounces of scallops.

My mother and I came here for her birthday to which we had an amazing time. The food, service, and environment were all absolutely spectacular. Todd and Liam were phenomenal. Both were very attentive and made my mother’s birthday meal an incredible experience. Hoping to come back soon ;)

Google
My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience at Black & Blue Steakhouse. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The steaks were flavorful and tender, and the sides and desserts were just as impressive. A wonderful spot for a special night out—we’ll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I am from out of town so I probably won't eat there again. This is an upscale restaurant with delicious steaks. The sides and appetizers were delicious too. I felt disappointed that they never came back and filled water glasses even when asked. They also tacked on an additional charge for sauces which I thought was unnecessary due to the high price of steaks there. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice.

Yelp
Meh, steak was average. Tasty, but prices are in the exceptional range and it just didn't seem to hit that level. Sides were ok as well. Lobster mac and cheese didn't really have much lobster chunks or flavor. Seafood tower was probably the highlight. The tower was priced well for what you get.

Yelp
I left a review a couple months ago, the service this time was much improved, the food was excellent, we sat upstairs so the ambiance was much more pleasant, I guess with all that said I just don't think it's worth the price you pay.

Yelp
A busy night with no reservations, so we w were able to sit on the left hand side of teh bar near the stairs for upupstairs . It was bustling and busy but we were waited on promptly. From our side of the bar there was no television ( which was fine). However I will mention that that location of the bar seemed a little bit difficult to gain the staff's attention if needed specifically for the check. Anyways this was our first time here I had heard many good things about it. We ordered the chicken dish and the grouper dish. The grouper this was exceptional with good Mediterranean flavors and the fish was extraordinarily fresh for upstate New York. The chicken dish was also good well cooked very flavorful. It was just depend on what you're in the mood for. We would totally like to go there again

Yelp
We made reservations in preparation for the busy holiday and were seated promptly upon our timely arrival. I am not a steak eater, but each time we dine at Black & Blue Steak and Crab, the food is good. Solid option for a date night

Yelp
Very busy for a Monday night. Possibly it's always busy. Possibly it's busy because most restaurants are closed on Monday nights. Haven't been here in possibly 10 years. I was happily surprised, got great service. I ordered salmon, believe it or not. It's not easy to find good salmon in Rochester anymore. Sam was as good as any I've had, it was grilled, which is a way I like it. I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Nice trendy restaurant. We sat at the bar. Good bartender. Good service. We ordered tuna tartare.. delish. Red snapper.. delish. Caesar salad .. nice. Ribeye steak.. eh. Very disappointed considering this restaurant is known for its steaks.

Yelp
Came on a Monday night which you usually think is a slower night. Had a reservation at 6:30 and were seated promptly but had to move tables to accommodate one of our guests. Staff was wonderful about setting a new table for us. It was super busy and it took a while for the waitress to get around to us. Each time she would do one thing she would say she would be right back and then take a bit to come back. She was very busy but she was going the best she could. It seemed like they were understaffed. We came with some friend who don't know that the steaks are dry rubbed with a salt & pepper rub so they thought there steaks were salty. They were cooked perfectly & the manager came by to explain the rub to them & suggest that when they return to ask for a light rub. Food took an abundant amount of time to come out but the manager came to apologize and offered us free dessert. It was so nice to see someone really try & take care of their customers. More importantly than the free dessert he actually meant his apology as it didn't seem like he was just doing it to save face. Portions were large and the cauliflower au gratin was so delicious. The wagyu was cooked to perfection (special of the night). Food wise the only thing I was disappointed in was the crème Brûlée. It was to eggy tasting for me over like scrambled eggs with sugar. I know that that's mainly what is made of but I have never had one that tasted like eggs. Dipping the cookie in it did help. It may just be personal preference because it is one of their popular desserts. The manager went above & beyond on make sure our table was set. I know the waitress was busy but I feel like she was not friendly & didn't really want to serve us. It really dampened the experience especially when the manager came to apologize & the waitress did not. I will absolutely be back because the food is delicious & the restaurant has a manager that truly cares about their guests.

Yelp
My family loves this place and go semi-regularly. I thought some of the food was fantastic and the rest was just okay. -the lobster was delicious! But dang for $90 with no sides it better be :) -the scallops were perfectly cooked as was the risotto, but the latter was lukewarm and tasted like they completely forgot the salt. It didn't have much flavor which was such a contrast to the perfectly seasoned scallops. -the chopped salad was my favorite thing of the evening. The dressing was perfect. It had crispy chickpeas! I will crave this forever. -the bread was bomb! -I disliked the Manhattan. I've never had one over ice - to me it was basically an Old Fashioned. It tasted so watered down and lacked depth. -really good grey goose martini. -my mom loved the crab soup and the snapper. -asparagus was average in flavor, but tender. -the desert special, a pumpkin budino, was spectacular except for the crust which was just loose graham cracker crumbs. We all agreed it was weird, maybe because there was so much of it compared to the fluffy, delicious budino. Love the vibes here! It was packed. The lighting was perfect. Cute spot for a date night. Service was really good if not a little much imo. I don't need my water refilled every sip I take, personally, but my family commented on how great it was so it's just a personal preference.

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant. The she crab soup was fabulous. I ordered the cowboy ribeye and my husband the filet. Both came out exactly as expected. I made reservations and was seated right away. This is a good place to celebrate - anniversary, retirement, birthday, etc. The waitstaff was very accommodating and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Got a porterhouse, was so tender and melted in my mouth and I know it's probably just fancy steakhouse seasoning but it was slightly too salty, still housed it down though. They were very accommodating when I messed up my reservation and let us sit at the bar until there was a table!

Yelp
We had a reservation but on arrival the restaurant was extremely busy and we had to wait for our table to be ready! In the past we were always seated right away. It took a while after being seated and the service assistants came up and offered us water choices and bread. We were seated by a fireplace which was lovely but it got a bit warm, at the end of the meal I felt like I had a sauna experience and was happy to go outside into the 28 degree air! We started with drinks, my lemon drop martini was wonderful and I'd have to say this place makes the best drinks of this nature. We ordered the calamari, unfortunately there was little to no dipping sauce, maybe a teaspoon sized portion in one corner of the plate, and the calamari was overcooked to the point that some pieces were rubbery. We sit a chopped salad and it was wonderful, as a split salad it was more than enough for the sizes were huge. Dinner was a filet mignon and red snapper fish. We did not finish our entrees because the app and salad along with the bread were enough! The down side here was the service, no one checked in with us until we were ready to gave them box up our dinners. We skipped dessert even though we were here to celebrate a birthday, it has become a tradition in January to here for my birthday but I'm going to reconsider this next year. It was honestly just too busy and service was lacking this evening, they did give us one complimentary drink as a birthday gift!

Yelp
***4.5 stars-*** One of the better places to get a steak in town. I've been a few times this year and it's consistently good. I usually get the wedge salad and ribeye. The Mexican style street corn is a surprisingly good side, but more traditional items like mushrooms and asparagus are also solid. As for appetizers, I've shared the crab cakes and fondue which did not disappoint. Service has been friendly and prompt. The one time we brought our own wine, the corkage fee was waved, which was greatly appreciated (and resulted in a bigger cash tip). As solid as a steakhouse B&B is, nothing really blows me away during each visit. It's consistent and predictable, so it's a good place to host guests / out-of-towners. As far as actual steaks go, I think I may actually prefer Max Chophouse, Tournedos and Char (maybe not recently). The ambiance is just okay and they've made the most of their strip mall location. I just don't find it too cozy or welcoming.

Yelp
Ate here on a cold evening; seated promptly in the back dining room with a fireplace! Perfect!. Steaks done to perfection.,they split the edge salad which was just right.. garlic truffle fries arrived piping hot. Good wine list! Desserts are great.. crème brûlée was on point with homemade cookie!

Yelp
Great food and service in a fancy atmosphere. We have been here for parties and as a couple and never disappointed. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. Located in plaza with lots of parking. Nice bar area too. Special in steaks and seafood.

Yelp
I won a gift card to the Black & Blue Steak and Crab restaurant at my company Christmas party, We made reservations for today Friday the 27th however they were at 4:30pm a little early for dinner but we took it as they were booked solid for tonight and i believe the next 2 weeks. So we arrived and we were promptly seated at a round table that would've seated 4 people comfortably with a view of the whole restaurant. So that was pretty cool, Our waitress Olivia came to the table 1st to take our drink orders and brought bread & butter to the table we just ordered ice water w/lemon and then after Logan came to the table we ordered our drinks and appetizers. Both Olivia and Logan did very well they were pleasant and social and very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials for tonight. I ordered the mushrooms for my appetizer which were good and then I got a salad which was also good. My main course was the cauliflower steak which I loved and it was very delicious and then we got dessert which was a chocolate torte with raspberry sauce and that was very good as well. My significant other ordered the steak and lobster tail that he said was good too along with the lobster Mac & cheese. It was a great night and I'm glad I got to experience the restaurant for the 1st time. I recommend visiting this establishment at least once.

Yelp
My family (party of 22) had an amazing dinner Saturday night in the private Club Room. Our main servers, BILL and CHRIS, were the epitome of 5-star service. Along with the entire team, the service was spot-on spectacular. The room was set up perfectly, just as I had asked. And, the food!! The food was by far one of the top meals I have had the pleasure to eat in a restaurant. Everyone in my family raved about the food. I, personally, am a big fan of Cowboy Ribeye's and have eaten hundreds at top steakhouses in the country. I will say that my ribeye at B&B Steak and Crab was done to perfection and rivaled any one of the big-name steakhouses! For a regular dinner or special large event, I can recommend Black&Blue without hesitation!

Yelp
Black & Blue Steak and Crab was an amazing lobster-filled experience. We ordered the lobster toast, the crab and lobster fondue, and the half rack of lamb with a side of lobster mac and cheese. Everything was fantastic; the only thing I would change was the size of my stomach, as we left with a lot of leftover food (which we happily ate the next day). The lamb was excellently cooked, so we ended up eating it cold the next day, and it was still so delicious. The service was slow to start, but everything was great once we were able to get our orders in. The restaurant was quite busy; without a reservation we waited 15 minutes before we were sat. The place is dimly lit and has high ceilings with an upper seating area as well. After eating here, I'm not at all surprised that there was a wait time to eat, but I would wait again to eat at this restaurant. Everything was phenomenal and I will be thinking about this meal until the next time I can return for another.

Yelp
The staff here was very good. We had messed up a reservation and the managed to fit us in with a half hour. Wait staff was also very friendly and professional. The steak was well cooked. The main complaint was the food was way over salty. I had the tuna tar tar ap and really struggled eating it because it was so salty. The fries and the seasoning on the steak were also super salty. Everyone in my party agreed. I also thought the sides were a little disappointing. The asparagus side had 6 stalks of asparagus. Every other side was super creamy or loaded with cheese. Btw- it's called steak and crab - there was only one crab dish.

Yuliia N.

Yelp
Great place for a good dinner. Cozy atmosphere, delicious dinner and good service. You rarely find such a level of establishment nearby.

Yelp
The service at Black & Blue is outstanding, and the environment is comfortable and accessibly refined. It's in Pittsford Plaza, but one soon forgets that after stepping inside. I decided to bring a good bottle of wine for the table and the lead server generously noted we needn't worry about the corkage fee. The server also offered very helpful suggestions; for example, the Caesar salad is large and since we're ordering courses, a split is wise--and the split can even have anchovies on only one half. When it came to the steaks my dining partner and I ordered, our waiter helpfully redirected our sauce decisions in relationship to the cuts of steak we each ordered, as well as had useful input on the sides we were sharing. Coffee service is wonderful and there are many after-dinner drink options. The only downside is that the dessert menu itself--reasonably priced, by the way--isn't the most innovative, which our server admitted, but dessert is mostly decorative after an outstanding steak meal. The ethos here seems to be that one foot is in the great steakhouses of the past; another in our current era.

Yelp
When I lived in Buffalo, this was my weekly go to. So, I could not resist going here on my 2 day trip to Rochester. Oren was the best waiter ever. We had the pleasure of being at one of his tables two nights in a row. . The drinks and the food were also amazing and I can't wait to come back on another trip soon.

Yelp
Amazing! Our children wanted to take us somewhere special for our anniversary and they chose Black & Blue. Excellent choice! The restaurant has an understated elegance without seeming stuffy. We were seated on the upper level and they had set a 4-top and a 2-top for our party of 7--I am categorically opposed to eating a meal while crammed into a too-small place--especially at a high-end restaurant! The host saw the look on my face and, without me saying a word, said, "this is too small, isn't it? How about we use this table instead" (nodding to a nearby 4-top) she promptly arranged with another staff member to swap out the smaller table-no fuss, no problem! We sat at our expanded table and were asked if we were celebrating anything. We informed that it was my husband's and my anniversary. We ordered cocktails from their very inventive cocktail menu. I had an orange-vanilla old fashioned! Delicious! Just this side of being too sweet, but the smokiness of the whisky saved it! Everyone else enjoyed their drinks and then--they brought out champagne flutes and a complimentary bottle of champagne! What a lovely touch! The appetizers were delicious, the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were HUGE! My daughter loved her crab cakes. Then, the meal!! Wow! Wet aged, hand cut and trimmed steaks, excellent fresh seafood sourced from a private, exclusive vendor in Florida. I got the 7 oz. filet. Haddock Oscar was a special, but I really wanted a steak so they accommodated my indecision by allowing the Oscar set up to be put on my steak! They hard sear their steaks in a1700°oven so there's a crust--oh my, just fab!! The table also ordered a center cut trimmed strip steak, the scallops served over risotto, and assorted other entrees--all enjoyed. The sides are not included and are listed as "shareable" and they are!! The table ordered roasted asparagus, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese made with 3 cheeses and orzo (really good!), sautéed mushrooms... everything done so well! To top it off, we shared 2 crème brûlées between us all...we were stuffed but wanted to try!! And kudos to the staff--while we were there we heard a commotion and someone scream--apparently a man was choking on the lower floor--patrons trained as emts stepped in to help. A server on our level heard what was happening and practically flew down the stairs!! When he saw that things were in hand, he was back upstairs without missing a beat!! Our server seemed shaken, but continued on as professionally and efficiently as before!! Amazing place, albeit a bit expensive, but this is a great special occasion restaurant!! Make a reservation and gooooo!!

Yelp
We are regulars who frequent Black & Blue for every family birthday celebration. I am saddened by the fact that I have to write this review as every experience up to tonight has been beyond expectations. We came to celebrate a birthday tonight, and unfortunately our experience was subpar in comparison to previous visits that blew us away. Today was our first time sitting upstairs, but the service downstairs has always exceeded expectations. To start off, upon getting seated, we were quickly greeted and given drinks by the assistant waiter. She was attentive and the highlight of the service tonight. However, we were left to sit for almost 30 minutes before our main waiter, Kelvin, came to give us the specials and take our order. By that time, the specials were irrelevant as we were waiting so long that we had already made our choices. He was in a rush and hadn't asked for our sauce choices, so we had to wait another 15 minutes before we were able to catch his attention and tell him the sauces we wanted with our steak orders. Additionally, during every birthday celebration in the past, our waiters would acknowledge it at the beginning of the meal and upon finishing our meal, we would celebrate with a cake. Our waiter tonight made no mention of the birthday celebration at all. After paying the bill, we felt as if we were rushed to leave, and were not given truffles that had come after the completion of our meals in the other 8+ birthday celebrations and regular dinners that we had here. Again, I am disappointed that this review had to be written as Black & Blue is our family's go to celebratory location. Normally the service is fantastic, but today, our waiter made us feel unwelcome and ignored.

Yelp
We went here on Saturday evening to celebrate birthdays for three of us. We had reservations and were seated on time. Our server was Aleta and she did a wonderful job. Understand that this is a little pricey but the food and service is worth it. The Crab and Lobster fondue is a favorite and delicious. My wife had the Bistro Filet Medium Rare and I had the Kansas Bone in Strip Medium Rare. Everything here is Ala cart! I order mash with mine, they offer several options for sauce for your steak, the truffle butter is very good. My wife ordered hash browns. Our steaks arrived cooked to perfection. The potatoes complemented the steaks perfectly. You can expect to pay about $50 to $100 per person if drinks are ordered. It is well worth it, great place to celebrate a special occasion.

Yelp
Allie I sent you the data you requested and you never bothered to get back to me. That in my opinion shows me you most certainly do not understand the concept of Customer Care.

Yelp
Excellent dinner! Our server was Tracey who was attentive and efficient. Filet mignon was perfect. Restaurant was calm and felt private. Very nice experience!

Yelp
This bartender was friendly and helpful the restaurant had great ambience u don't really see many fine dining restaurants in Rochester. My filet was delicious and I got peppercorn sauce on the side. Wait for me I'm coming back

Yelp
They have the best steaks. Our table had ribeye and filet. Everything cooked perfectly

Yelp
Amazing!!! Went for a pre New Year dinner with my 14 yr old son. Our waiter was funny , knowledgeable. We got shrimp cocktail and the wagu meatballs for appetizers. Shrimp was fresh and cocktail sauce had a nice zing to it. Meatballs were delicious. Main course was for son, grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. He ate it all ( enough said !) I got the special. Halibut with lobster risotto. The halibut was fresh and so tender. The risotto was creamy with lobster chunks that was spectacular.

Yelp
Annual Christmas Eve family dinner enjoyed again this year! All dinners and sides were delicious and came exactly as ordered. Cocktails were also well prepared. Service was attentive while not intrusive or rushed. Our family had a new arrival this year so we had an 8 month old at the table. While a high chair was provided, we were sad to learn there's no changing table in the ladies rest room. Unfortunately she did need a change during our dinner and that was done on the rest room floor- while we had a mat from the diaper bag, a folding changing table that could be pulled open if needed should be provided by this very upscale restaurant.

Yelp
First impressions. If you can get sat downstairs do. The acoustics upstairs makes it hard to hear a conversation on a weekend. The filet minion was well prepared but steakhouse variety. Enjoyable. Sides nothing to write home about. My company had the lamb and was very impressed, large portions. Priced well. Staff well attentive

Yelp
Food was great - steaks were delicious. Those sweet potatoes melt in your mouth. Delicious olive bread to start as well. Nice ambiance with our early 5pm reservation.

Yelp
Black and blue is one of a kind. Their espresso martinis are the best! Get there early enough to enjoy a cocktail at the bar before your reservation. I got the kansas city strip with a lonster tail and it was delicious. For dessert we had the chocolate torte and let me tell you, it was massive! And delicious! Ambiance was cozy!

Yelp
Our first time here for a birthday dinner. Our table was ready on time and there was a nice handwritten birthday note. Wait staff was attentive but not intrusive at all. The menu is a typical steak house menu with sides a la carte. We ordered some appetizers, a rib eye and the snapper with some sides. The wagyu meatballs were more of a swedish meatball and tasted like turkey to me. We both enjoyed the steak taretar! The main courses were cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the creamed kale side dish. The sweet potato dumplings were more of a sweet potato wedge. They also brought out a free birthday dessert (bonus points for not singing). Extra points for the bathroom stalls being full coverage. Plenty of parking in the shopping plaza.

Yelp
Stopped after a long day at a local sporting event with no idea what to expect as we are from out of town. We did not have reservations but were told we could sit in the lounge. So glad we did! Our waitress was amazing. My husband wanted a steak and he was not sorry at all. It was done perfectly and even though he didn't need them he ordered a side of mashed potatoes. I had the scallops with the most delicious risotto I have ever had. And, the olive bread, WOW!. We were never rushed and the corner booth was amazingly comfortable. Even pillows. If we are ever in the area again, this will be a must stop. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Yelp
Amazing meal. Had the cowboy steak and King crab. Probably won't eat for 2 days! Spectacular is an understatement and be prepared because the price was reflective of it!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I tried this place for the very first time and were amazed at how delicious the food is. I will say this place is rather pricey but it's worth it, especially if you are planning to go out to dinner for a special occasion. The servers and staff here are all great, super friendly, and helpful when it comes to picking great drinks and meals. The way the menu works is you pick a meat option (which is individually priced) and then you pick a side (which is also priced individually) to share with your table. All sides are meant to be shared. I believe the side portions are big enough to share, depending on how big of an appetite you have. If you're someone who likes to eat more when going out, I would recommend ordering more than one side. Today, my date and I order the 20oz steak, 7oz filet mignon, crab cake, mashed potatoes, and asparagus all for dinner. It was delicious and very savory. The meats come with a variety of sauces, our two favorites were the black truffle butter and the Gorgonzola sauce. For dessert, we had the key lime pie and the peanut butter budino. Both of these desserts were delicious, however, the peanut butter budino.... To die for. It was so good and a mixture of two things I love, chocolate and peanut butter. The cocktails were all great as well. Overall, we had an amazing experience and will definitely return in the future for another special occasion!

Yelp
Normally we love B&B experience, especially sitting at the bar. Last night was not good.....bar service was poor. Not enough servers, and VERY rushed when they finally stopped by....i felt like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. Too bad. My $54 ribeye was very average as well. Martini was good, but any good bar will have cocktail onions...oh well. Disappointing night.

Yelp
Dined there recently with friends. While the service was excellent the food this time was mediocre. My friend ordered some kind of a seafood bisque which was not at all good, she barely touched it. My filet mignon that I requested be "light on the rub" was obviously thrown on the grill right out of the fridge. While cooked to requested temperature, it was rather tough and in fact very garlicky (I am garlic intolerant which is why I requested light on the rub). The French fries were undercooked and not at all crispy. Overall a disappointing dining experience. The restaurant was bustling on a Tuesday evening. Hoping this was just an off-night for Black and Blue, normally my go-to restaurant.

Yelp
My wife and I recently made our first visit to celebrate my 67th birthday. The ambiance was stylish and nice. However, it was quite loud and stuffy on the lower floor, but less so on the upper floor where we dined. Here are the pros and cons which added up to a rating of 3: PROS: The staff are first-rate, very professional and top quality. The food was also excellent. CONS: An otherwise wonderful dining experience was marred by a series of minor errors as follows: 1. I ordered gin on the rocks with olives, and the server offered me a choice between regular and blue cheese olives. So far so good! But the drink arrived without olives and when I mentioned it to the server's assistant, he returned the drink with two olives dropped into the glass without a spear. I mentioned this to our server who was apologetic and brought me a proper drink. 2. After being offered a choice between still and sparking water we ordered sparking water but were given still water. The server's assistant eventually corrected the error after we pointed it out. 3. My wife noticed that parties arriving after us were given bread and butter but we had not. After waiting 30 minutes, we had to flag down the assistant server who provided it. 4. Service was slow, perhaps because it was busy Saturday night and we were seated upstairs. We were seated shortly after arriving for our 7:45 reservation but did not receive our meal until shortly after 9pm. 5. We were given somebody else's bill at the end of our meal. Luckiily my wife noticed this. At this point we were approached by the manager who apologized, took the drinks off our bill, and gave us free deserts to take home.

Yelp
I've heard and read of folks having a wide range of experiences at this Pittsford Plaza steakhouse, so when I booked a dinner for my partner's birthday, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I hadn't been since college and even then I think I just ordered soup? I digress. You can tell by the 5 stars that we had a truly wonderful experience! We were so well taken care of, the food and cocktails were perfection, and the space is lovely. We started at the bar with cocktails until it was time for our reservation. I went with a delicious spritz cocktail with aperol and rosè, and my date enjoyed a flawless Manhattan. The hostess took us to our table at the back of the restaurant where our server and her assistant took excellent care of us through the duration of the evening. Answered all of our questions, and food came out at the perfect clip. We started with a split caesar salad, and this is the thing I would likely skip the next time we go. No issues, no wow factor, just skippable. Our steaks were fired up to perfection, and we went with a side of mashed potatoes to really seal the deal. I ordered with the bistro filet, their least expensive cut, and enjoyed it just as much as many pricier steaks I've ordered at other steakhouses. My date went with the filet mignon and half a lobster, both of which he said were flawless. Medium rare perfection for both of us, and they even wrapped up our night with a complimentary birthday dessert. This was a rich chocolate torte with raspberry reduction - super classic and super yummy. We left feeling like we had a really special night, and what more can you want for an occasion meal celebration? I am really grateful to the whole team at Black and Blue who helped make Col's birthday such a special treat. We'll be back! Thank you thank you!

Yelp
Staff excellent. Prepared to answer questions and offer alternatives. Great menu and atmosphere. Steak was good (not the best I have ever had) and dipping sauces were meh. Cauliflower side was not good. Scallops were delicious and hearty. Shrimp appetizer well worth the money. $200 for dinner for 2.

Yelp
After a fabulous dinner at the Albany location we decided to return closer to home. Our server Andy is outstanding. My husband and I shared 1/2 chop salad, 1/2 wedge, mashed potato's and I had a NY strip. It was incredibly busy on a Tuesday night, be sure to make reservations. Looking forward to returning for another meal this week. I have not had steak this good since we moved from Portland Oregon.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our dinner here, the steak, lobster, and grouper were PERFECT! Flavor, presentation, portion size, etc. - I wouldn't have changed anything about them. We also had the calamari and loved it, it was spicy - didn't see that coming but I really enjoyed it. Kind of a Thai spice level 2. The cauliflower was like a slightly healthier Mac and cheese casserole. Delicious! The sautéed mushrooms were good but could have been better (they seemed bland but maybe that's just my personal preference.) My girlfriend ordered a gin drink (we don't even like gin) but it was absolutely amazing!!! Perfect pairing of citrus with the fish. Also, very intriguing presentation with the lavender. I'm a total key lime pie snob, and in my opinion they made the pie how it's supposed to be made. Im about 99% sure they used Nellie & Joe's key lime juice which is the original and the best. The cool twist they did was making an extra thick outer crust, loved that! Our server, Bill, was fantastic. Very nice guy and took good care of us. The one and only thing I thought was questionable was the bread - for a nice restaurant like this, I feel like they just grabbed some rolls out of the bag and threw them on a plate with some whipped butter. I'd like to see them do better here.

Yelp
I have heard of this restaurant and I always pass by too many time because it is closer to where I usually shop at. I always telling myself that I should try one day and I never got around to try. My boyfriend has surprised me by taking me to this restaurant for our anniversary. I have to tell you that their food is amazing! Raw oysters are hands down because they did a great job to make sure it is edible and tastes just right. I usually pick on how people serve raw food. The server we had for tonight was amazing! He was well detailed with everything and make sure we are satisfied with our food. The servers are definitely doing social distancing by doing masks, gloves and etc. I kudos them for making everyone to have an amazing night. Thank you all for making our anniversary dinner amazing!

Yelp
Wow. Hands down the best service we've had in Rochester. Every member of the staff was helpful and welcoming, and they anticipated everything that we would need or want. We were never parched or cluttered with dishes. Our server knew exactly what to recommend based off our likings and we enjoyed every bit of our meal. My boyfriend got the rib eye and lobster; he was in heaven. I got the filet mignon. The steak was perfectly charred and so juicy. It was flavored perfectly, it really didn't need anything else BUT they give you sauces.... And (insert Janice voice) OH MY GOD. It just elevated it to another level. Our favorite was the Gorgonzola sauce! Wow. You need to try it! Sooooo yummy! My mouth is watering just thinking of this. Dinner was amazing. Go there for a special occasion, expect to drop some cash, and just enjoy every bite. You won't regret it.
