Our dining experience at Blue and Black left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we waited over 20 minutes for our table despite the restaurant being only half full, which set an underwhelming tone for the evening.
The food, unfortunately, did not redeem the experience. The steak tartare arrived pre-made and overly saturated in sauce, compromising its freshness. We ordered a Caesar salad with white anchovies, but it was served with red anchovies and lacked flavor. My medium-rare ribeye was cooked nearly to well-done, missing the mark on preparation. My wife’s she-crab soup was unexpectedly sweet, resembling a dessert more than a savory dish, and we left most of it untouched. Regrettably, our waiter did not acknowledge this or inquire about our satisfaction.
On a positive note, the oysters were satisfactory, and the sorbet stood out as the highlight of the meal, though it seemed likely sourced externally.
At over $150 per person, the value did not match the quality of the experience. We had hoped for a memorable meal, but given the inconsistencies in service and food, we recommend exploring other dining options.
Needless to say, we won’t be back..
