Black & White Coffee, at Videri Chocolate Factory

I don’t know how I haven’t rated this place yet even though I’ve been here many many many times. Those who don’t know B&W was started by two world barista champions. The baristas here are great at their game - today I got a latte with perfect microfoam and a lovely flavor. Their original beans are what they used. They also got a fancy $9000 pour over machine that makes fantastic pour overs. Since they are co-located by the chocolatier - they got amazing chocolate drinks. The space inside is small so not much room to sit in but the outside area has much more room - great to be outside on a sunny day. They have nice outdoor vibes.

My husband and I enjoyed coffee and sipping chocolate this morning. I had their pour over which is individually brewed coffee. You have a choice of beans based on what they have available. The restroom requires a code that you can get from staff. The vibe is industrial. This is the same location as Videri chocolate. Parking is on the street and is free around the building.

My daughter and I were looking for something warm and indoors when we saw Black & White Coffee inside Videri Chocolate Factory. We were drawn in by the smell, and hung around to try the sipping chocolate! Such a cute little spot to visit. They had a gorgeous looking outdoor space if only it wasn't so wet outside. For next time!

One of the best coffee I’ve had in a while. I’ve heard about B&W coffee being recommended online a lot by the coffee community, but now I understand why, their funky coffee is so good and unique. The staff are very friendly and this coffee shop has a lovely outdoor area. I’m in town visiting but this place just gave me another reason to go back to visit Raleigh.

The best coffee in Raleigh, hands down. It's in the chocolate factory, but there's plenty of seating indoors and more outside. The baristas are nice and friendly. Everything is clean! The espresso is always pulled perfectly and the beans are the best I've ever had! The bathrooms are locked, which is kind of a negative.

Way better than Starbucks—no hesitation. Their menu isn’t huge, but what they do offer is on point. The shaded seating area outside with the bamboos is perfect for a first date, especially if she’s into nature vibes. Staff are super friendly—zero judgment, no stuck-up Karens in sight. Baristas are wonderful! Hot Chocolate(made with Videri Chocolate) super yummy, Mocha is dreamy, Iced Latte on a hot day paired perfection(several flavors to choose from). We found a new happy place to be yourself and enjoy some heavenly treats. Located inside Videri Chocolate Factory(which offers 2hr free validation parking). You can take a self guided tour of their factory or schedule a guided tour. The people at the Videri Chocolate counter offer free samples, are very knowledgeable, and customer service friendly.

Another great place to find quality Black & White pour overs. Inside you will also find a cute little chocolaterie that has solid and hot chocolates to choose from. Inside seating is pretty casual. Small, but nice patio on the side with a fake grass area that I assume is for dogs. Parking can be a bit odd, but there are multiple lots nearby and Commerce street usually has a space or two available

The best coffee in Raleigh. Amazing coffee. I parked in the paid parking for the building and it was free with a voucher from the coffee shop. The coffee is amazing. I got a bag of coffee that comes with a free 12oz drip brew. The drip brew was amazing. They have a rotating menu for the espresso and drip. I ordered a latte and unlike most places you could actually taste the espresso which was amazing. The milk was perfectly steamed. The seating inside is minimal so don't come with a family of four or more unless you want to sit outside. The outside patio is in the shade for the most part. The service was excellent and quick. Amazing coffee. A must visit if in the area.

It's a nice spot - I'll be back the next time I'm in the area. I enjoyed a book here for a couple of hours while my wife did some work on her laptop. There is a good amount of seating both indoors and out, smells like you're inside a chocolate factory since it shares space with one - although I was really only there for the coffee. The drip coffee was fine, the beans I bought (a very lightly roasted Ethiopian) were excellent. They do pour-overs, but that wouldn't have come free with the beans I bought.

This is a review for the B&W coffee in the RDU airport - I got an iced latte and it was delicious. The young ladies working the counter were pleasant and friendly. Loved it a-latte.

If you want a chocolate themed drink, this is your spot. It is inside the Videri Chocolate Factory, albeit a separate business. They source their chocolate from Videri. They also serve coffee, which I didn't try. You must order the SIPPING CHICOLATE! It is melted chocolate with a little water and additional sugar. It is super rich so you get a small cup to sip like an espresso. They have a beautiful outdoor patio, which is where we sat. I would be a regular at this cafe if I lived in the area. I will make a stop here every time I visit Raleigh.

It's a cute spot alongside the chocolate store/factory. I got the coffee soda which was an interesting combo but enjoyed with the orange/lime hints alongside La Croix and coffee. The coffee came out pretty fast and the outdoor seats were somewhat packed.

If you love the scent of chocolate, stopping by is a must try. This cafe is nestled in where you can the chocolate being made. Since it was a warm day, I thought I'd try the frozen hot chocolate. Don't know if it compares to NYC's version but it was perfect. Located across the street from The Pit BBQ. Parking is next door.

Here's what I'll say, everything about this shop was cute and cozy and well done The coffee is 10/10, truly Frozen hot chocolate 10/10 Decor and vibes 10/10 Outdoor seating 10/10 Busy on Saturday AM ofc. We have been wanting to get coffee from here bc only 1 coffee shop in our home town sometimes stocks B&W. What I will say, is friendliness and customer service goes a LONG way. Greeting customers, communicating about drinks being done, etc is necessary. I always think a mid tier coffee shop that has excellent customer service will win over an amazing coffee shop with poor customer service. It's about the experience! Customers aren't a bother and not the enemy

Great coffee spot. Stopped by to get a quick espresso before heading out for activities. Grabbed a bag of coffee beans since they have very unique flavors. Customer service was excellent especially helping to choose which coffee beans I should get. There is also a chocolate place right next to the coffee shop, but it was closed when we were there.

I got an iced latte and an iced coffee here and both were delicious. You can taste the flavors in their beans. You also can get a single origin espresso shot if you prefer even lighter roasts. I love that they have a scale of light to dark roast and clean to funky flavored on each bag of beans to help you get what you really like

Great spot to grab a mocha latte--which makes perfect sense, since it's located inside a chocolate factory. The coffee is smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of chocolate. The setting has a cozy, slightly industrial vibe with the added bonus of that incredible cocoa aroma in the air. Definitely worth a visit if you're a coffee lover with a sweet tooth.

Excellent spot in the trendy Warehouse District in downtown Raleigh. One of the top coffee roasters in the Triangle and definitely the most popular. You'll love sitting on their patio!

The chocolate factory smells like you'd expect, but the cafe is open at some times even when the factory is not. I stopped in for a hot chocolate, and it was a full-flavored creation at a reasonable price. Indoor and outdoor seating greeted me, and had I wanted a baked good the ones they had looked nice.

Is it crazy to proclaim this as the best cup of coffee I have ever had? Truth! Simple is best and these guys create a simple, magical cup of java.

Broad selection of pour over coffees and espresso drinks. Good--albeit limited--pasty selection. Small & cozy place. Only down side being no dark roasts. Nice folks serve you.

The coffee was okay, not great. The flavor was a bit bland. I expected more richness. The service was decent.

We walked over from the Hampton Inn for a nice cup of coffee, it was just ok me, I didn't finish my cup, and would try another spot if in the area again.

Had to try this place because my friend was visiting from out of state. She got an iced mocha and I tried the honey lattes. We included some chocolates to take home and try later. Easy to find location, parking wasn't hard, and coffee was excellent. Will definitely find my way here again for coffee. Great service! I visited again with my brother and we had the iced mocha. Best iced mocha I've ever had. My brother in law had frozen. hot cocoa and said it was delicious as well.

Great coffee shop with a real neighborhood feel. We loved sitting outside on the patio. The baristas were great and the coffees were delicious. We ordered a brown sugar latte which was simply amazing. Like drinking silk. We also ordered a cold brew which didn't need anything else to make it delicious. The black tea was also good and the fun vibes made everythjng better.

You can't really beat B&W. Their roasts run the gamut from standard to extremely funk and experimental. Prices are high but so is its quality. Sold

Black and White has an outsized reputation in the coffee community, and I was excited they happened to have a location in Raleigh (one of the few in total). On top of that, in a chocolate factory! I love Videri too by the way, and especially this location: they give free chocolate samples and are super nice, plus have a wonderful selection of chocolate bars, gifts, and pastries. The coffee here was great, and I picked up a bag from the awesome selection on shelves (some of them will be sold out online). The baristas were super friendly and patient, and even gave me some tips on the Aeropress technique and the particular coffee I bought. I think my only wish is that they featured more of their unique coffees and rotated frequently for espressos. They were also out of pour-overs when I visited. But overall, just pumped I could visit a B&W run cafe near where I was staying!

The coffee here is incredible. Latte art is on point. Great little outdoor garden area. Yum.

My son and I LOVE Black & White Coffee! We love the vibe, especially when we can sit outside on the patio/veranda and take time to enjoy their coffee and lattes! I met an old friend there the other day and had a caramel latte that was not only beautiful, but SO TASTY I had two!! My son buys whole bean bags and we have had a huge variety of the flavors! So many to choose from! Service there is great and the people so kind, the lattes so tasty and beautiful, I almost hate to drink them! I do wish there were more tables but also glad we can go outside! We DO LOVE Black and White on Davie, some time now..gotta try it!! Joanna

Iced Mocha was more like chocolate milk than coffee. The marshmallow caramel iced latte was tasty. Syrups are homemade. Space is small. I would go back to just try an iced coffee. Staff was friendly. Place was full on a Friday afternoon!

Such a cute coffee shop, and so much outdoor seating!!! I ordered a fall speciality latte - cookie butter iced latte with oat milk. It was very oaty, and the cookie butter was subtle but delicious nonetheless

We attended an event hosted by an apartment complex at Black & White Coffee and it is so cute in there. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. The lighting inside is kind of mellow, so not sure it's the best place to work due to the lighting and limited outlets. They have a great selection of drinks and pastries but they do not offer savory breakfast options. I ordered a honey oat milk latte and it was delicious. There is plenty of paid parking around the area and I am pretty sure they validate it for you, but I am not positive on this. Overall, a pretty chill spot & its right inside Videri Chocolate Shop so there are some shopping options and chocolate to try and buy!

A gem- great pour over and lots of coffee varieties available to purchase and take home. Friendly staff and great outdoor patio area to enjoy the nice weather.

Great coffee, great selection of beans for sale as well! The space is kind of small, and even on a Monday morning it was pretty packed. So if you're looking for a space to sit and work in for a while, you may have to come early or have a backup plan. Also, parking can be tricky, depending on the day and time of day. But the coffee is awesome!

10/10 love the coffee. Absolutely love! I can see why people will stand in line in the cold waiting for their coffee. Husband got an espresso seltzer, and you can taste the quality of the espresso bean! I got the rosemary caramel iced latte, it was delicious! Greta coffee, and great gifts to give to coffee lovers! They also have a chocolate shop inside and many people were in line for that too!

Tried two lattes that were amazing! Also tried the sipping chocolate which was so good! Bought a bag of beans to make espresso at home and turned out perfect!

A brisk walk downtown and you will find Black & White coffee nestled within the storefronts of the urban landscape of Raleigh. There are plenty a coffee to choose from and the service was unassuming and quaint. Overall my husband and I enjoyed our cup of Joe and we recommend!

Located inside the Videri chocolate shop/factory, B&W is a full-service coffee bar that sells pastries and bags of beans. I ordered an iced mocha, which was made with Videri chocolate, and it was basically perfect. There's plenty of seating both in and outdoors.

I got just a vanilla latte and was so surprised how good it was. I loved the latte art too and the barista was great!

Black and White Coffee is my favorite coffee roaster in NC. Their single origin coffee is my go to for at home pour over! I'm lucky they sell their coffee at some local coffee shops around me, as it's kinda of a drive for me to get to this location. But when I'm in Raleigh, I always make a point to head over and get a delicious cup of a single origin Ethiopian.

If you're looking for fancy specialty drinks, this ain't the place for you. However, if you enjoy some simple, tasty coffee, look no further. The coffee has a good flavor with enough strength without being overpowering, and a vague hint of chocolate. As someone who prefers either black or just a little creamer, I like what they offer. Some may consider the serving sizes small, but the quality makes up for it.

Overview It feels like a sleeper cell and I don't mean in a bad way. B&W is tucked inside of the venerable Videri Chocolate. First, before B&W, there were a myriad of undefined coffee slingers there who made an always awesome mocha. And then the big guns from Wake Forest arrived and staked claim. They are now Black&White replete with a really cool origami panda! Behold the same wonderful mocha! And sometimes baked goods. Mostly on weekends. Skip the pour over go for the mocha, still awesome. The bean selection is the best part. Because. Of Course.....Black and White beans headed by the Kyle and Lem...legends. There used to be a mustachio-ed dude who did dreamy pour-overs. He is not there anymore and the machines that do the pourovers are a waste of money, IMHO as the beans profiled taste exactly the danged same every time. And I get paper, sour notes instead of the nuances when someone takes the time to dial in the pour overs (yes, those little machines make baristas lazy). They stink. (the machines, not the baristas). The parking is a very weird thing. The most passive aggressive experience in Raleigh. There is a lot, with attendants and signs. You have to state your business or gosh knows what happens...because there are multiple towing signs and a lot of posturing. You used to have to get a validated slip to show where you were, but that rule seems gone. So the parking is a bit of a stress factor. How long is too long? Etc. The Videri counter is the first thing you see when you come inside. Always always always friendly....the videri team never fail to greet you on the way in and thank you on the way out. This makes me feel a wee guilty as I come for the coffee. Interesting as the coffee staff are about half as friendly as the Chocolate chicas. Why is that? It seems as though we are an inconvenience at best. Even if you try and chat. Not me, pretty much everybody I watched was greeted with a kind of cool indifference. But hey, just sit back and watch the baristas have a good time talking with each OTHER if you want a social experience. I dunno. I've been coming for a long time to this location and watched the ebb and flow. I used to find the baristas more friendly and welcoming back in the day. As soon as the panda bear arrived, less so. It is nice to get beans from another roaster than CC. But I also noticed that the flavor profiles are sometimes not even close to what is on the package. I drink a LOT of coffee from almost all of the best third waves and find most of my disappointment comes not from the beans, but from the disparity of profile notes to what actually hits my palate. I wonder why? And the pourovers often now all taste the same papery dull acidic sour no matter which i choose. This is sad as once, not that long ago, the other barista hand poured a bean that totally nailed the blueberry...it was so forward you might have sworn he squeezed a few into the brew. (He did not. :D). They have recently upgraded the seating and there is a sweet little courtyard.

This is such a cool spot! We went for coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they also serve ice cream and specialty chocolate. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a nice patio area. My coffee and the chocolate sampler that we got was fantastic. I will definitely be back again and can't wait to try the coffee soda.

I visit whenever I'm in the area. It's a bit hidden on the side of Videri Chocolate Factory. They sell coffee, coffee drinks, and chocolate treats. Their mochas taste sensational since they use Videri chocolate!

They are definitely tucked away next to Videri, but they are amazing! It's a little spot that serves wonderful coffee and uses Videri chocolate in their mochas. I loved this hidden gem. There's also a super cute outdoor area that's perfect to sip that coffee on a perfect fall day!

Stopped in for a cold brew and it was the best cold brew I've ever had. The coffee was smooth and the notes were perfect. The barista was amazingly friendly and answered my questions and provided me with some extra coffee knowledge. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

Come here if you want the best coffee in Raleigh! You have to try the mocha...it's like dessert in a cup, wow! Made with the Videri chocolate, you won't be disappointed!

I greatly enjoyed my dairy free hot chocolate with oatmilk! It remind me of Hershey, PA . The chocolate was so decadent My significant had the same but as a latte. The space is really cool as it was an old train station/warehouse. Neat to see old places being used in new ways. Stagf were very kind and helpful. Their outdoor seating was really nice. I will definitely make this a go to place when I'm in the area!

I was underwhelmed by this coffee. I bought some classic beans and tried them a week later. It's OK but I don't see what all the fuss is about. These beans are supposed to be a darker roast but it tastes light. This is not my favorite.
