Best Restaurants Around the South Recommended by Atlanta Chefs and Bartenders | Eater Atlanta

"Owned by U.S. barista champions Lem Butler and Kyle Ramage, this roaster and coffee shop has “great balance in regards to coffees that are very experimental and others that are very approachable,” says Daniel Brown, owner of Gilly Brew Bar, who has featured the roaster’s beans at his own coffee bar in Stone Mountain. “I was very encouraged and hopeful seeing someone who looked like me — male, black, locks — who was a leader in this industry.” Locations in Wake Forest, Rolesville, Raleigh." - Kris Martins

Great tea!! LOVE!I had the tumeric-ginger herbal tea hubby had coffee. Great tea choices, unique multi blend and very healthy variety. Nice delicious looking selection of bakery items. Just be prepared for a wait, even if there is no line. If you have the time it’s worth the wait.

Great coffee spot at RDU! ☕️ Loved the option to order easily on a big self-service screen — super convenient when traveling. The coffee was excellent, smooth and flavorful, and the staff handled everything quickly. Perfect place for a quality cup before a flight!

Unfortunately, I think I left hungrier than when I got there. Avocado toast was the thinnest bread I’ve ever seen. Good flavor, but the smallest smear of avocado. Not what you want when you’re trying to eat a substantial breakfast while traveling. Appreciate that they have non dairy yogurt though!

The airport is NOT where I expected to find a great coffee experience! I only discovered Black & White yesterday when I finally got to visit Sayso Coffee in Winston Salem (the Kenyan pour over I got there might have reset my entire perspective on African coffee…) and here I find them in RDU airport. The woman who took my order asked a couple good questions to narrow down the options and the simple, but delicious, oat milk cappuccino made with their “First In Flight” blend was executed very well. Definitely a great way to wrap up my trip!!

How to destroy a brand - B&W is for sure a top roaster... They are at the airport. No love for coffee here. No single origin. No good barista. Not even coffee beans to buy that would showcase their skill. What a waste.

Like everywhere in RDU and NC in general, there aren't enough vegan options. I chose the salad and it came with a pot of honey dip, which I couldn't eat as honey isn't vegan. However, the young female staff member immediately offered to make me a fresh dressing (one that she enjoys on her own salads). I massively appreciate her kindness and excellent service! The other staff members were also very polite. The salad and the dressing were delicious and tasted really fresh. Please offer more vegan options and I'll definitely be back 🙂 Thank you!

Coffee is pretty good here, but pastries are hugely overpriced. They get really busy and although they have a good system, I got unlucky and they forgot my order. They had to remake. Took more than 15 minutes.

I had one of the best lattes I’ve ever had earlier this morning and decided to leave a review. I also had a wonderful interaction with a young lady named Sue! Will definitely be back whenever I am in the area!
