Best Restaurants Around the South Recommended by Atlanta Chefs and Bartenders | Eater Atlanta

"Owned by U.S. barista champions Lem Butler and Kyle Ramage, this roaster and coffee shop has “great balance in regards to coffees that are very experimental and others that are very approachable,” says Daniel Brown, owner of Gilly Brew Bar, who has featured the roaster’s beans at his own coffee bar in Stone Mountain. “I was very encouraged and hopeful seeing someone who looked like me — male, black, locks — who was a leader in this industry.” Locations in Wake Forest, Rolesville, Raleigh." - Kris Martins

Coffee is alright, though not even close to the black and white downtown. If you order food, it’s cold. Got a ham and cheese croissant and it’s rock solid. Same for the chocolate croissant. $30 for 2 croissants and 2 lattes. Would not recommend getting food.

Great tea!! LOVE!I had the tumeric-ginger herbal tea hubby had coffee. Great tea choices, unique multi blend and very healthy variety. Nice delicious looking selection of bakery items. Just be prepared for a wait, even if there is no line. If you have the time it’s worth the wait.

Great coffee spot at RDU! ☕️ Loved the option to order easily on a big self-service screen — super convenient when traveling. The coffee was excellent, smooth and flavorful, and the staff handled everything quickly. Perfect place for a quality cup before a flight!

The airport is NOT where I expected to find a great coffee experience! I only discovered Black & White yesterday when I finally got to visit Sayso Coffee in Winston Salem (the Kenyan pour over I got there might have reset my entire perspective on African coffee…) and here I find them in RDU airport. The woman who took my order asked a couple good questions to narrow down the options and the simple, but delicious, oat milk cappuccino made with their “First In Flight” blend was executed very well. Definitely a great way to wrap up my trip!!

Unfortunately, I think I left hungrier than when I got there. Avocado toast was the thinnest bread I’ve ever seen. Good flavor, but the smallest smear of avocado. Not what you want when you’re trying to eat a substantial breakfast while traveling. Appreciate that they have non dairy yogurt though!

actually the worst 20 dollars i’ve ever spent. the coffee tastes horrible and as you can see my 15 dollar avocado toast was not even toasted and is so covered in red chili flakes and pepper i couldn’t bare to eat it.

Their coffee is great. Need to be consistent with service. Bought a latte at the airport in a larger cup, the girl (who was lovely) I even gave her a tip, made it for me no problem. Went back to the shop about 30 minutes later because the coffee was so good they told me I couldn’t have it in a larger cup. They said they used to do it, but not any more. I told them they just did it 30 minutes ago but they refused to make the larger size. You guys have great coffee and I live in Raleigh and go to your shop in Wake Forest all the time. But this is unacceptable. From great service 30 minutes ago to terrible is not a good thing. Get it together Black and White.

DO NOT get a pastry at the Black and White at the RDU location. I got a cheese danish and I have never had one that was that dry. And I mean dry! The cheese part was so dry as well that the cheese had hardened in the middle. Just how old was that thing? Embarrassing for Black and White. Great coffee, so just stick to that!
