In-N-Out Expands Burger Dominion to Friars Road | Eater San Diego

"At that site, the four-decades-old Black Angus Steakhouse is still open for business for now, but it is slated to be replaced by the new In-N-Out; reports indicate construction on the replacement won't be finished until early 2021." - Candice Woo

This is my third time trying this restaurant and it will definitely be the last. I got lunch to go with my office. I ordered the buffalo ranch chicken sandwich this time. Absolutely disgusting. 3 tiny chicken tenders (why isn’t it a full chicken breast???) with wilted brown lettuce, 2 pathetic slices of tomato and rock hard cold French fries. We ordered online and there is nowhere to add or subtract items from an individual order. I wanted to add onion but there’s nowhere to change your order. Tried calling 4 separate times and were never able to get through on the phone to let them know. Our office is 5 minutes from the restaurant so the fries and sandwich could at least be lukewarm? Everything they serve there is clearly frozen. I had shrimp last time and the same thing… hard, cold and unappetizing. The mac and cheese was the worst: somehow gritty and watery and of course cold. I have no idea how this place has 4 stars. To management: would YOU eat a sandwich that looks like this? To the kitchen staff: how on earth are you sending out food that looks like this? I know all your food is Cisco and frozen but come on, try to take a tiny bit of pride in your profession

Had dinner using the application special steak and lobster trio. What a deal. I always enjoy eating here mainly because it is always consistent. Not only is the food great but the service is also excellent. Our waitress Cody was just so efficient and friendly making our dinner complete. I have never been disappointed and have going here for years.

Hubby and I decided to come here for dinner since we have not been here in a while. Hubby liked his food. I got the Cobb salad 🥗 and it was okay. My salad seems like it had water. Our food took forever to get to us. The waitress and manager came and check up on us. Overall it is a nice place to have dinner.

Black Angus Steakhouse – A Delicious Surprise Near Pearl City Our visit to Black Angus Steakhouse near Pearl City was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and I’m so glad we went. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you didn’t plan for—and this one absolutely hit the mark. 🥩 Exceptional Service & Atmosphere From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive, helping us choose the perfect entrées and making us feel right at home. The dim lighting created a cozy, relaxed atmosphere where you could actually talk without raising your voice. It was peaceful, quiet, and very clean and well-kept—a great setting for an enjoyable dinner. 🍽️ Delicious Food & Generous Portions The food? Excellent. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection—flavorful, hot, and beautifully plated. And the portions were generous, definitely more than enough for one sitting. We had plenty to take home, which was a nice bonus! 🌟 Final Thoughts – Worth Every Bite If you’re in the Pearl City area and craving a hearty, satisfying meal with great service, Black Angus Steakhouse is a must-visit. Whether it’s a last-minute choice or a planned night out, you won’t be disappointed.

Great place! Service was great, would have been better if they played country music for a southern vibe. My chair was a little warn, could use replacing. Restaurant reminded me of Long Horn. Loved the different types of steaks

Google
Beautiful atmosphere, loved the seating booths, they had very high back and gave much privacy. They have the best Mac n cheese I’ve never had at a chain restaurant. However they had the absolute worst steak I ever had at a steakhouse! I ordered a ribeye..it was over cooked and so tough. I was going to try to enjoy it but my jaws began to hurt and I felt this was unacceptable… I asked my waiter if he thought my steak was overcooked and he agreed, offering to have another made. I was so thankful bc this restaurant was a highlight on my itinerary. When my replacement steak came out, it wasn’t even a ribeye. It was cooked better but was no less tough. I asked the waiter was this a ribeye and he says yes… I knew it wasn’t, but didn’t want to send a plate back twice.

An annual lunch with a friend. I ordered the 21-day wet aged prime rib. It came out hot and medium rare as ordered. Staff service was friendly and prompt. Lunch gave us the ability to be seated quickly. Parking is plentiful at this time. I will be back with my wife for the tomahawk steak for two.

Haven’t been waited on Terry for a couple of years literally and the first thing she says is haven’t seen you both in a long time, how you been? Then miraculously she remembered me always wanting an extra cup of ice! How’s that possible. She went above and beyond helping us with the app for benefits too! Definitely going back next week for the deals and for Terry!

Yelp
Corey was very friendly and attentive, filled our water before it was emptied. Was knowledgeable about the menu and had good recommendations. The blue highball and jingle bell smash had a very strong rosemary flavor, so if you like that it will be good. Was not our favorite but otherwise everything was perfectly cooked

Nene G.

Yelp
Food was great as expected. Thank you Corey for awesome service. Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
Corey is the GOAT. Very fast, very efficient, and very attentive. 5:5 recommend. The rib mac and cheese is not bad. If you require your mac and cheese to be creamy, I'd suggest the regular mac. The rib mac and cheese is more like noodles with melted cheese as opposed to noodles in a creamy mornay sauce.

Yelp
I don't frequent this place too often as it's not close to me and the food has been a bit hit or miss, but tonight we came to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance is semi-casual, but it's clean and seemingly well maintained overall. If you're looking for a high end experience, I'm not sure this is the place, but if you like a good steak or prime rib, it's definitely worth a try. It is a pretty popular restaurant and it can get pretty busy, so be sure to make a reservation, especially for larger groups. And if you go at a peak time, sometimes the wait for food cab be a bit long when the kitchen gets backed up on orders. Nothing unreasonable, just not a place to go if you're in a time crunch for any reason. When it came to the food, I enjoyed the flavor of the prime rib, and it was cooked perfectly! I ordered mine rare and they didn't overcook it, which happens sometimes. My side salad was simple, but tasty and the chips that come with the spinach artichoke dip were the right amount of salty and perfectly crunchy. I was a little disappointed with the mashed potatoes tonight. They were a bit dry, pretty dense, and not well seasoned, so I didn't end up eating them. The bacon burger was a hit and the onion rings they came with were crunchy and flavorful. Both of the desserts that we got were also really yummy, so that was a nice way to end the meal. The piece that absolutely made the night for me was our server, Terri. She was the perfect balance of attentive and friendly, while still giving us our space to talk and enjoy our meal. She replaced drinks quickly, communicated any delays that came up, and just seemed kind in general. Everyone at the table commented on the quality service we received and how impressed we were by her overall! She definitely made the experience great!

Yelp
Christmas Eve brought us back to Black Angus Steakhouse. I was craving a good prime rib without the effort of cooking it myself, and this is usually my go-to spot for that. Our server was witty and full of humor - enjoyable at first, tho it became a bit much after a while if I'm being honest. Still, my wife and I were able to enjoy our evening. Service, however, was delayed at every point. Understandable on a holiday, but not understandable considering the restaurant was less than half full as our reservation was at 4:45pm. What was confusing was that my order for clam chowder was taken even tho they had apparently run out. I wasn't informed of this and waited patiently. About 30 minutes after ordering, my wife's salad arrived shortly after the appetizers. That was when the server casually mentioned, "You ordered chowder, but they're making a new batch." I ended up receiving the chowder at the same time as my meal, roughly 45 minutes after ordering. That said, the chowder itself was delicious. My prime rib was everything I expected: flavorful, cooked perfectly to temperature, and hearty. I especially appreciated getting a cut that was lighter on fat. My wife ordered the filet and was very pleased with her meal as well. Note: There is no Happy Hour on holidays - Christmas Eve included. Parking is plentiful, tho it can fill up fairly quickly during peak times, so go early! All-in-all, this is a place we will return to, even if the service is *always* lacking. The westside doesn't have many steakhouses and driving to Waikīkī or town isn't always in the cards for us.

Yelp
This wasn't our original choice, but since it was New Year's Eve and many places were closed or running limited hours, we were grateful to snag an open reservation on OpenTable. We arrived early and were seated fairly quickly. Right off the bat, our server, Megan, was the absolute star of the night -- warm, efficient, and completely on her A-game while juggling multiple tables. Truly impressive and easily the best part of the experience. It had been a long time since we'd eaten at any Black Angus, and this visit reminded us why. We ordered the Campfire Feast for 2, choosing: spinach artichoke dip, ribeye (medium rare), BBQ chicken with half rack of ribs, clam chowder, string beans, au gratin potatoes, mac and cheese, and the sky-high mud pie. You can definitely tell their forte is steak -- because that was the only entrée done right. The ribeye was well seasoned and cooked perfectly to medium rare. Their house bread came out hot, and bonus points for the room-temperature butter (ice-cold butter is a personal nightmare). The spinach artichoke dip was tasty, but many of the tortilla chips were overly oily, likely from overcrowded fryer oil. The clam chowder was decent and actually had chunks of clams -- appreciated. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill. The BBQ chicken tasted like a bagged, processed chicken breast with sauce slapped on. The ribs were mid at best, with BBQ sauce doing all the heavy lifting. The string beans were borderline raw -- like they came straight from the garden to the plate. The au gratin potatoes and mac and cheese were both dry and sad. The biggest letdown? The so-called sky-high mud pie. Total catfish. It was nowhere near a mud pie -- more like a slightly frozen chocolate mousse with a thick layer of fudge. Definitely not ice cream and definitely not "sky high." In the end, the saving graces were our server and the ribeye. Would we come back? Likely not. Nothing beats a good, family-run establishment -- and this just didn't hit the mark beyond the steak.

Yelp
Our party of 4 friends had reservations at Black Angus Steakhouse at 4:30p on Monday, 12/22/25. We were seated promptly by the Hostess. The place was nice and empty and we had a great seat in a booth. Our experienced server Michael was very friendly and we had a nice banter going as he served us our drinks and gave us our menu. My friends and I all ordered the Campfire Feast for Two, that includes an appetizer, two entrees with 2 sides, and a dessert. If you want to upsize you can. That is what we did. The four of us paired up for this Campfire Feast deal. We were also teachers so as a teacher you can also get a 15% discount. If one member of your party is a Teacher, Nurse, or in the Military, you get a 15% discount off of your bill. My friend also had a $10 off coupon for all of us on the Campfire Feast Deal as well. My friend and I ordered the Chips and Artichoke dip to share as part of our Feast. It was warm and crisp. The dip was rich and hearty. My 2 other friends did an upsize and got the variety platter of chicken tenders, shrimp cocktail, loaded potato skins. and fried zucchini. They enjoyed it. We all could order sides. I got the salad with a combination of Blue Cheese and Thousand Island Dressing. My friend got the Salad with Ranch and Thousand Island Dressing. We appreciated the combination dressings. My other 2 friends got their salads with Caesar Salad Dressing. We enjoyed the freshness of the lettuce, and tomatoes. My friend enjoyed her croutons on it as well. Next we ordered our 2nd sides. Three of us upsized. Two of us got the Baked Potato with everything on it. My other friend got the Mashed Potatoes with everything on it. We loved the sour cream, cheese, and green onions atop of our starch. Another friend got the Baked Potato Soup. We all ordered the Prime Rib entree. I had mine medium rare, my friend had hers rare, another friend had hers medium, and another had hers medium well. We all enjoyed it. It was succulent and flavorful and tender. We appreciated the Au Jus sauce and Creamy Horseradish and regular Horseradish sauce. It enhanced the 12 oz. Prime Rib. For dessert my friend and I ordered the warm Chocolate Chip Cookie with ice cream. My other friends ordered the Crème Brûlée. We shared our desserts. I really enjoyed the Ice cream and decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie. The Crème brûlée was good. It was sweet and custardy. We had a wonderful time leisurely eating our meal and catching up with one another. We weren't rushed to leave the premises which was fabulous. As we were leaving the place was bustling and busy. Overall, we had a joyous time at Black Angus Steakhouse. The customer service was outstanding. We enjoyed how attentive our waiter Michael was. He was very informative and helpful as well. He took a group photo of our table with a positive demeanor and was knowledgeable about Black Angus Steakhouse. We all enjoyed our meals and even took home our leftovers for later. We will indeed be back for another gathering at Black Angus Steakhouse.

Yelp
*This review is for a uber eats order only* I was craving for steak and this place popped up on my uber eats app they had a buy 1 get 1 free so decided to take advantage of that. I've never tried this restaurant before and wanted to give them a try. It was a pretty good deal for two plates. But food wise (it lacked so much flavor). The food wasn't even warm, which I feel surprised bc I don't live that far from this restaurant. It was really cold. Two stars just for the good deal but I don't know. Maybe I need to try in person at the restaurant instead.

Yelp
We came to Black Angus in Aiea for the Campfire Feast for Two and it was such a solid, satisfying meal. We went with the New York strip steak, chicken breast, and a half rack of ribs, and everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. The New York strip was juicy and cooked perfectly, the chicken breast was tender, and the ribs were really the star -- fall-off-the-bone tender with a sweet, smoky sauce that hit just right. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing, especially if you want to try a little bit of everything. Huge shoutout to our server Kirsha -- she was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked in on us just the right amount and gave great recommendations without being pushy. The inside of the restaurant has giant booth style tables that are horseshoe shaped. There's light music playing but still ideal for having a nice conversation. Overall, great food, great service, and a great value. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Black Angus used to be one of my family's favorite places to celebrate birthdays. The atmosphere is nice and gives off a Texas-style vibe. The seating feels private thanks to the high sofa chairs, which makes it easy to have a conversation and enjoy a more intimate dining experience. They were running a promotion for the Christmas holidays, and we were able to get $20 off the Campfire Feast, which was such a steal. For $71 at regular price, you get one appetizer, two entrees, four sides, and one dessert. There are upgrades available like the Wagon Wheel Sampler, prime rib, ribeye, and more, so the price can vary depending on what you choose. Even with upgrades, it's still a great deal, especially with the $20 off coupon. The service was very solid. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. The food was very solid overall, just like I remembered. The prime rib was incredibly tender and flavorful, and they were able to give me a cut that was more on the rare side, which I really appreciated. The ribeye was cooked nicely and but wasn't seasoned well. I'll definitely be coming back again for a special occasion.

Yelp
Came here on a special occasion with our group. The ease of making a reservation made me look forward to coming in to eat here. The service by Codi was very attentive as she made sure everything was okay with our food and pics she took for us. She went above and beyond for sure and it's what made the dinner for us extra special. The food was delicious and everyone in our table was pleased with their meals. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
I'm not sure how I feel about my experience. The place looks like it got a face lift but when you walk in, it's still the same with the same carpet. The staff are not rude, but it feels like they just want you in and out. We had a large group, so we actually had two assigned servers. I think that caused confusion in our orders. The menu itself got a face lift from our last visit and menu items changed. My daughter was disappointed to see the they no longer have lamb as a choice.

Yelp
Got here about 6:35pm they said half hr wait. Seated at 7:20pm Let's see how this goes. 7:30 orders placed our order taker is a cute older lady that makes you smile. Done at 8:37 Loved our waitress but they seemed very short handed.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy our meal at Black Angus, but this visit was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Our Wagon Wheel appetizer didn't even arrive until 10 minutes after our entrées, which completely defeated the purpose of ordering it in the first place. The food itself was just as underwhelming. The chicken was overcooked and dried out, and the potato skins were blackened, dry, and completely flavorless. Only one shrimp had been dipped in cocktail sauce, and there was no sauce provided for the others. After delivering the appwtizer a few moments later another server dripped off another shrimp stating we'd been shorted one. The mac-n-cheese and au gratin potatoes tasted like they had been sitting on a buffet for three days--dry, crusty, and inedible. The biggest letdown, though, was the rib-eye steaks. They were paper thin, overcooked, and full of gristle. For a steakhouse, that's just unacceptable. Honestly, the bread was the best thing on the entire table--and that says a lot. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was far below expectations. Hoping management takes this feedback seriously, because the quality just wasn't there.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I'm not a steak fan. I came here with my husband and in-laws, who have been visiting this restaurant for decades. They clearly love it for the consistency and tradition, but I came in with a different perspective. Parking was already a challenge. The lot was packed, and while we eventually found a spot, it wasn't the most enjoyable start. Inside, the restaurant has that "classic American steakhouse" vibe with booths, wood-paneled walls, and horse-themed décor. For my in-laws, it's nostalgic; for me, it felt dark, dated, and worn down. The booths especially aren't my favorite -- once you slide in, you're trapped until everyone else moves. Service was fine but nothing remarkable. Our server took the orders and delivered food promptly. That's about it. On the positive side, they did have a kids' menu, booster seat, and crayons for my toddler, which was thoughtful. As for food, the highlights for me were the breaded zucchini appetizer and the mango margarita, which had a nice flavor. That said, the presentation left me underwhelmed. My drink was served in a very plain glass instead of a proper margarita glass. The kids' mac and cheese was disappointing: instead of a creamy sauce, it had a dry, crumbly cheese texture. My Cobb salad had a nice punch from the blue cheese, but the croutons tasted like they came out of a package instead of being freshly made. Everything here is served in large portions, and unsurprisingly, a lot ended up in to-go boxes. For families who enjoy hearty steakhouse classics and don't mind dated décor, I can see why this place has loyal fans. But for me, it just didn't click.

Yelp
Food here always tastes amazing every time my husband and I come to celebrate our random occasions. Whether we stop by for lunch or dinner, the meals are consistently delicious. Lunch feels light and satisfying, while dinner has that warm, hearty comfort that makes the evening feel special. The ambiance is cozy, welcoming, and perfect for any mood, from a casual mid-day meal to a relaxing dinner date. Their crew is always awesome. I truly appreciate their attentiveness, friendliness, and the genuine care they show from the moment we walk in. Black Angus never disappoints us!

Yelp
You had me at martini for their one night martini experience, which happened on 6/26. & I am torn between a 3 or 4 stars for my ratings, I'll go with the 4 stars since despite minor kine, I really enjoyed my overall dining experience. The good old Stuart Andersons days back when they were at the Ward Warehouse, I would frequent this place so often with high school friends, hubby during dating days, and with family before they closed the location for good. I am sure glad we have this chain restaurant but on the west side, I don't mind the drive out, to bring back some memories. hehe. Besides the garlic cheese bread, I miss the molasses bread and clam chowder! The restaurant does seem old and needs renovations, The parking is very crazy, not Black Angus' fault, the lot was full that night and I just noticed that we cannot park our vehicle in the open spaces anywhere at the lot, (Time's, back of lot) there are signs and security do patrol the area, in case your car gets towed. The parking spaces are small too. I am going to look for street parking next time to avoid this parking mess! We had 7:15 pm reservations and didn't get our table until pass 7:20 the hostess was getting forms ready for all her upcoming reservations, and the service was a bit slow, the bus boy kept taking our plates away, waited awhile for bread and ketchup, but on to the martini... hehe ** If you see the martini night experience, make plans for it, it is so worth it for the price! $54.99 come with 3 course pairing menu which includes starter, main and dessert, for the martini: limoncello martini, cucumber martini, and key lime pie martini. My favorite all time favorite drink is the lychee martini but these drinks are so good too! We also enjoyed the food that we got along with pairing, love that aioli sauce! Now, the question is did I get wasted, drinking all that martini, NO. It was a nice quick buzz but I am up for more martini. Haha. This is such a nice treat! Overall, we had a great dining experience and we will be back, for the next martini experience & next on the list for the campfire feast dinner for two. Glad to have this classic American Steakhouse, Black Angus on this island!

Yelp
It was Christmas Eve and very busy. Service was five stars. Our server was great. Drinks were great. I had the moonshine lemonade - my fav here. Hubby had his beer. We did have a longer than usual wait for the bread, but that's because they were making more so it was nice and hot and fresh when it did come out. Our calamari app came out soon enough and was ok, not as good as usual. Hubby's garden salad was fine. My clam chowder didn't have as much clams as usual, which was a surprise since I've had it on many other occasions. Oh well? However our entrees took longer than ever before. First another server brought our entrees but one wasn't right. Our server came a minute later explaining it wasn't ours and apologized profusely that the kitchen had MMA added an error on one. We then waited and waited and waited... even though our server said he'd ask them to expedite it. When our entrees did arrive, at least they were correct. Hubby's rib eye was cooked as ordered, my prime rib was, too. Half of my au jus had spilled, though so my rice was soaked. Both entrees tasted good. We had ordered the campfire feast so we still had a dessert included But we had been there so long we just asked for it to go. We got the fudge cake. The vanilla ice cream was put into a separate container as promised so that was good. But when we opened the container with the cake...no fudge on it, no fudge in a container...no fudge at all... We've been here on holidays before (we come on Thanksgiving for lunch) and generally the quality and accuracy of the food is great, but not this time.

Yelp
Mashed potatoes had no flavor and 12oz Prime Rib was seared on both sides cooked like a steak, no herbal flavor as customary with a prime rib roast. Waited almost an hour for our food which I wouldn't be writing a review of the food we waited for was actually good.

Yelp
Today's server Kirsha made my Black Angus experience an A+++! She was friendly, efficient and hardworking. She attended to my table's every need. When the buffalo chicken tenders came out without sauce, Kirsha was quick to offer an apology and sauce on the side. Drinks and napkins never ran low. Food was always hot. Communication was perfection! Kirsha deserves all the praise, and hopefully a raise too! My boyfriend and I agreed that the $20 ribeye app-exclusive deal was worth it! We had plenty of leftovers to take home. The new chocolate mousse fudge cake with ice cream was delicious!

Yelp
Very pleased with our service tonight. Corey was very accommodating when we told him we were hoping to get the side room for a small Christmas gathering AFTER he had already set up the dining area for our group. He systematically took our order and answered any questions we had. Food came out promptly, water glasses filled and needs met. I had the Surf and Turf Quesadilla which I requested well done (I like my quesadilla with a little crispy edge) - came out perfectly. I also had a New York Steak med-rare which was tender and done right. The loaded baked potato was meh. I love my potatoes hot or at least with the butter melted. I also had broccoli which could have been steamed just a tad bit longer. ;) The creme brulee was spot on. Overall, I had a great time. Thank you, Corey for setting the mood for this evening. You could have been unhappy with having to move us to another location - but you handled it very well. Patrons are lucky to have you as their server and Black Angus is blessed to have you as an employee.

Yelp
We dined at Black Angus Steakhouse (which we always call Cattle Company) and had such a great experience thanks to our server, Corey. We were seated within minutes, and Corey came by shortly after with waters and to take our drink order. We ordered the Campfire Feast, and everything came out in a timely manner and nicely spaced out...not all at once, which I really appreciate. Corey was very friendly, checked on us often, and kept our drinks topped off. Overall, great service and a great experience. We definitely look forward to coming back and hope to have Corey as our server again! Mahalo!

Yelp
Celebrated a birthday here and the food and service was great. Thank you Corey for being our server, we had a great time

Yelp
Food: Sampler was great and had a variety for everyone to choose from. Entrees did lack taste. Service: Regie our server was AWESOME He had a huge section to take care of yet made sure we had everything we needed. For our dessert though we were given plastic utensils because he said that they were without a dishwasher Ambiance: Typical steakhouse with low lighting with booths, tables and bar seating.

Yelp
The ambience is cool here with that rustic cowboy vibe and we had high hopes once we sat down. They are obviously known for their steaks as it states on their menu it's 21 day aged steaks. I got the steak Cobb salad and hubby had the New York strip with the appetizer, 2 sides and dessert for $41.99. He added mashed potatoes as the side so it cost an extra $3.50. Still an overall good deal with all of that. The fried zuchinni appetizer is delicious! The cucumber dip that comes with it is also tasty and came out hot. Able to share this appetizer with about 4 people. Now came to our entrees... steak is super tough and bland. My salad came with the steak perfectly cooked on top but it's tough and no flavor again. Need some salt, folks...The salad also had no dressing tossed with it like it was supposed to. This was a disappointing salad to say the least. Avocado also had some skin on it still. The mashed potatoes came with sour cream and cheese on top but since they're really cold on top, it makes the mashed potatoes cold as well. Onto the dessert, we had the creme brulee and it was more like custard. The sugar on top was not torched enough to caramelize. I do have to say that they do have excellent service here. Our server was super attentive and kept checking up on us/filling our drinks. Kudos to the bartender/server.

Yelp
Black Angus, formerly known as Cattle Company, has been the spot for my family and I for years! The menu offers a variety of this and that, which is why we keep coming back for more. It seems like this is the spot for my dad's birthday, minus the dessert this year since we were so full. Our server was attentive but the back of the house seems to lack timing often. My order for this recent visit was the surf and turf, ribeye and lobster tails to share with my boyfriend. I didn't like how charred the steak was, esp since I requested for medium but I tried to enjoy it anyway and not complain since they take awhile. The bread is amazing, love that our server gave us a generous amount! Although the furniture seems to be outdated and the carpet needs to be deep cleaned, love how spacious it is and how the booths are set up. This place can get super busy so make a reservation on Open Table to avoid a wait or getting denied.

Yelp
We used to love the Mango Raspberry Iced Tea, but ever since the syrup was replaced, as our server explained, it tastes like lemon-flavored water.

Yelp
A couple girlfriends and I decided to come here since we havent been in years. We were super excited as we havent gotten together in awhile. I made reservations for us for brunch, a party of 3 at 11am. We had asked if we could be seated in the bar area, but was told they were all reserved, which wasnt a problem. We got seated at a regular booth and went immediately into getting our drinks and appetizers. We were a little bummed they didnt have fried calamari. We decided to go with the Wheel sampler which came with 4 shrimp, chicken tenders, zucchini and 2 loaded potato skins. Everything on the wheel was good except our potato skins were burnt on the inside :(( so we couldnt enjoy that. Lets jump to our entree's 1. Steak & Sea (Ribeye with twin lobster tails, Sides: Clam chowder & loaded baked potato) 2 orders of this. 2. Primerib with salad & clam chowder 3. Cheese bread I asked for my ribeye to be med, I was a little disappointed when it came out, it was well done and looked like a New York steak :(( I didnt want to return it as our server was in training and didnt want o make humbug. The lobster tails were nice and soft, that was delicious. We all seemed to enjoy our lobster but we all didnt finish our steaks. To be honest we were so busy talking we didnt really care out how our food was, LOL... The clam chowder was good and thick. My loaded baked potato was perfect :)) Our server (Im sorry I forgot his name) was really good. The place really needs a revamp. The material on the seats are all torn up, but I must say the place is still very clean :)) No we were there for 4hrs, yes you read that correctly, LOL 4 hrs. Some of these pictures were sitting in my draft, heeh

Yelp
Honestly disappointed in quality of everything. I remember a few years ago this place was the spot to come however seems to have fallen off royally. Took the wife out for her birthday. Food took extremely long and undercooked, The missus ordered medium well, came out on the rarer side of medium rare. Ordered the season Mac n Cheese Steak, it was forgotten. I had asked and when they brought it out ot was just Mac n Cheese. Ordered a mud pie and waited about 10 minutes before they came out and said we are out. The server was super friendly but the food was lack luster to say the least. I'd go lower on the review however this place holds some nostalgia. I'm afraid that's the only thing it'll hold from now on

Yelp
It started poorly with trying to make a reservation. From 12 noon to 2 pm I called 33 times one after another as you see in the picture below as you see the numbers next to their phone number 808-487-0054. I wouldn't mention this but this is not my first experience with trying to make a reservation. The good news is that our reservation was for 7:45 and though busy on a Friday we were called to be seated on time. That's good management of expectations. The steaks were fatty and the wagon wheel was ok, a little overcooked but ok. My prime rib open faced sandwich was very good. The waiter who was also good suggested it for me and I'm glad he did. My favorite but also least favorite part of the place is the ambiance. I love the high backed private booths and I hope they never go away. But PLEASE get them reupholstered PRONTO! They're very soiled and smell of body odor and some other funky smells. Many are ripped and torn. But they are the best booths ever provided. Take up a collection if you need! I and others would "round up" the bill to help! The "up charges" have gone crazy here so be aware. A few sautéed onions now cost $3.99 that's absurd to me. $2.50 for a Cesar salad vs a garden salad, all the meats except NY and Sirloin are $6 extra. The Wagon Wheel is $6 extra than it was prior when ordering the camp fire feast. The molasses bread is good. I took pictures of the fat that were on the steaks. You tell me if it's worth it. We patron this place about once every two months and 3 stars is a solid score. I wouldn't go any higher presently.

Yelp
Server Corey was exceptional in his service for our birthday dinner for 6. Never ran low on drinks and food was quick to come. Hope we get him again. Thanks again Corey for making our dinner special!

Yelp
The wagon wheel appetizer was supposed to have the potatoes, zucchini, and chicken but came with two orders of zucchini... no explanation why. When our meals came we had to ask for our soups that were ordered. The mac and cheese was dry and didn't have any cheese. We ordered the mud pie for dessert and what came out looked like a small slice of cheese cake with chocolate on top.

Yelp
Food is always delicious. Our server Michael was on it! Drinks topped all the time. Humorous and sang Happy Birthday to me with his spoons We enjoyed the night! Dessert was yummy too, not your traditional ice cream mud pie but mousse was light and tasty!

Yelp
Took my dad and uncle to Black Angus on a busy Friday night for a belated birthday and Father's Day dinner. I requested Kirsha based on previous amazing service. My dad and uncle ordered the campfire feast (calamari, grilled salmon 2x, carrot cake), I ordered the prime rib med rare, roasted veggies, and rice. We also had the bbq chicken salad. Everything was good! Food, drinks, service...all excellent and would recommend Kirsha at Black Angus! Thank you so much and see you soon!

Yelp
It's been forever since the last time we were here and it was called Cattle Company. We got the campfire feast since it's a good deal. We started off with the fried zucchini and that was probably one of my favorite things we had that night. The zucchini was crispy and well seasoned and paired well with the cool cucumber dip. For my entree I got the prime rib with loaded mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The prime rib was juicy with a well seasoned crust. The potatoes were buttery and I'm glad I made it loaded since it added more flavor. The Mac and cheese was savory and creamy. For dessert we got the sky-high mud pie and that was yummy. You can't go wrong with a chocolate coffee ice cream pie! Overall, this place was just as good as how I remembered it to be. Make sure to get the campfire feast and find a coupon for it to save a bit of money! Our server was great and kept checking up on us. If you don't want to go to a a high-end steakhouse but still want a steak fix, this is a nice option!

Yelp
My dad and I ordered the 6 oz and 8 oz filet mignon dinners. He had the 8 oz and had cooked medium. I had the 6 oz and had it medium rare. He had the steak soup and asparagus as sides and I had the clam chowder and the au gratin potatoes. Before all this though, the bread came out. My dad had some and said it was too hard. I guessed it would've been soft but when I tried it, it was almost as hard as a rock on the outside and the inside was chewy. It seemed like they used day old bread and reheated it! The server, Leigh, asked how we were and I mentioned that the bread seemed hard. When I said this she was on her way to another table with a new serving of the same bread. She suggested that we could have the new one. To no avail, it was just as hard! This bread looked like the one that Outback gives but mistakenly, I thought it was just as soft. I could've sworn that the last time my dad and I ate here over a year ago that the bread was soft! Oh well, I stand corrected! When the steak soup came out, my dad said it was way too salty! The asparagus must've been good because my dad scarfed that down. The au gratin was good; it had crispy crumbs and creamy cheese. My clam chowder must've been good. I gave it to my dad and he chowed down on that as well, while I attempted to finish his salty steak soup. The steaks were a surprise. Since I had mine medium rare, I thought it was going to be super soft and tender. The texture was more of a steak cooked medium. My dad's steak, on the other hand, was very tender although it was cooked medium. The menu did say that the 8 oz was Black Angus' most tender cut of meat! The best part of the experience was our server, Leigh! She was very helpful, attentive, and caring! She could pass for a nurse! The ambience was okay. Just a bit outdated but nice and quiet. I'm not knocking that at all. I think this place is average and gets a 2.5 stars for food price considering the quality, but the server (Leigh) gets a 5-star rating!

Yelp
My mother in law called to make reservations yesterday for dinner, she called around 5pm & said earliest reservation would be 7:15pm. We checked with the server around 7pm & got seated around 7:30pm. Our server was super kind, kept checking on us & refilling the waters. The problem was the food & how long it took to reach our table. My husband & his parents ordered ribeyes (dinner for two/one), I ordered a burger & the kids had mac n cheese. The kids got their food about 10 minutes after we ordered. Waited another 15 minutes before the salads came out. Then waited another 10 minutes before the entrees came out. Everyone ordered medium for the meat but my husband's one was medium rare. He said he didn't enjoy it & only ate half. But he did enjoy his chocolate cake dessert lol. I enjoyed the burger but the onion rings were too hard I couldn't taste the onion. One the kids french fries were undercooked, boy did not eat it.
