Black Diamond Tavern Review - Big Bear - Los Angeles - The Infatuation
"Located at the base of Bear Mountain Resort, Black Diamond Tavern is the typical post-hike come-down spot in Big Bear. Take that for what it is. Every weak and weathered hiker driving back down the hill stops at this roadside bar for an early evening recharge. And that means a beer, some nachos, and finally finding service to post all those top-of-the-mountain selfies." - Brant Cox
We were getting off the trails and wanted to grab and beer and a bite. This place exceeded our expectations. Grilled chicken sandwich was totally bomb with a full Serrano pepper on it. Hawaiian buns were a great choice too.
It can get busy so to expedite your order just get up to the bar and order it instead of waiting for the wait staff. They will be overwhelmed, kinda understaffed.
Make reservations if u want table. I personally like the bar.

The menu is a little pricey, but the quality of food is very good. Service took longer than expected, but the restaurant provided a nice atmosphere. There was a good amount of people, along with live music, so it made for an enjoyable experience.

Fun place for dinner and drinks! I tried the Bar-b-Que Chicken Pizza! They have a variety of selections to choose from! Ribs, Filet Mignon, Salmon, Pizza, Sanwiches, Burgers, Salads and a full bar. Excellent customer service! Friendly staff!

Delicious Food: Definitely grab a burger while you're here. We had the Tavern and the Blue. They were even better than expected. Side salad came with Heirloom tomatoes (big plus). Fries cooked perfectly. The attached picture does not do it justice.
Strong Libations: The Moonridge (at a reasonable $10) was my favorite. Lagunitas on tap as well.
Friendly Service: Quick and conversational.
Live Music: Awesome guy doing live, acoustic covers. Great song selection, great voice and great volume. We were able to hum along to our favorites and also hold a conversation.
Nice Ambiance: Well decorated. You can come dressed up or down. We saw both heels and flip flops, polos and tshirts. Come as you are!

Went in to watch the Notre Dame v. USC game. It’s a little ways away from the crowded Big Bear Village, but this is a good thing. Great crowd in this modern decor eatery. Service was friendly and attentive even though it was a busy night, and the food and drinks were excellent. The Spicy Julio (jalapeño infused margarita) was perfect and I recommended them to some others nearby; they were equally impressed. Margarita pizza was as good as it gets, and sweet potato fries as an appetizer were near perfect.
This is THE place I will definitely go back to when in Big Bear.

We went in on a Tuesday night. It was very slow. Our service was fantastic. The food was really good. We just had chicken nachos, buffalo wings, and my daughter had a kids cheeseburger. My daughter said it was one of the best burgers she has had. I ordered Miller light in a bottle. I did not see it on the menu or in the bar, but they produced a few of them for me! A little on the pricey side but it's a nice place. I would go back and recommend it.

This restaurant is dying a slow death. The food is actually decent....though over-priced (burger $16 & up) for what you get. The weak point is the service. There is no lack of people working there....they just seem to be untrained and lacking direction. The restaurant seems to lack cleanliness, is very dark....and the music is too loud when dining at 6pm (like they are trying to be hip or a night club). Unless something changes.....I suspect they will be out of business is 6 months
