18 Best Myrtle Beach Restaurants to Try | Eater Carolinas

"Black Drum Brewing sources beers from across the Carolinas, from Wicked Weed in Asheville to Two Blokes in Charleston. The selection is impressive, and the food takes the same thoughtful approach to barbecue and seaside fare. Chef Joseph Lilly puts out an impressive spread of dry rubbed ribs, tender pulled pork, juicy brisket, Southern sides, char-grilled oysters, Lowcountry boils, and so much more." - Ashley Daniels

We seen many reviews of this restaurant and decided to try Black Drum Brewing on that basis. Huge let down. Food lacked basic seasoning and flavor. Salt pepper and garlic would have done wonders. Service was mediocre at best. Appetizers arrived shortly before food. Sign the restaurant is not gauging by guests but on a time line. Atmosphere was stressed, with a seemingly unfriendly manager trolling the dining floor with a scour on his face. We saw our waitress for orders, drinks, and the check. Single drink per guest and a bottle of water for the table at what be believed to be a brewery in the name "Brewing". It is not. Presentation of food was good. But, again, flavor was Lacking.

I decided to eat at this restaurant because it’s located on the property I stayed at and the menu looked appetizing. I arrived and the restaurant looked inviting. I was asked booth or table. I opted for a booth…mistake number one. The booth is like a couch and when I sat down I almost sat on the floor. It was so low. I then moved to a chair in my booth and I could see into the kitchen. Pretty cool so I thought. I could hear kitchen staff, cursing I watched table runners with gloves on touching their hair and playing with their phone. My server put the entire meal in at the same time so halfway through my appetizer, my dinner came. Which meant it got slightly cold. The shrimp and pork belly skewers were absolutely amazing. Once I finished. I tried the macaroni and cheese. It was like eating baby food. I have never had mushy macaroni and cheese. Next, I tried the cucumber salad. Absolutely refreshing and delicious. Then I tried the brisket. At the time I tried it. My server came and asked me how everything was. It took me a minute to answer her because the brisket was thick and dry. I would not recommend the brisket. That was a Friday night. Fast-forward to today, September 27. They were having an event from 4 PM until 8 PM. Live music Oktoberfest themed. I’m not a beer drinker that did not interest me, but I still needed dinner. I went over to the restaurant Just after 7 PM. Asked if I could place an order so that I could sit out by the fire pit. I was informed I could not do that. I could, however, spend $20 for a ticket to this event which included souvenir glasses, a drink and a pretzel wait until 8 PM for the restaurant to open back up to spend more money on the food I actually wanted. The embassy suites absolutely beautiful. I will be back here again. I will not be eating at this restaurant.

Enjoyed an evening out on the patio with live music! Tyler was a great server and kept us happy the entire time. Make sure you get reservations since they will fill up fast especially for larger parties. The food was delicious and the drinks were good too! Highly recommend and will go back next time were in town.

I got the fried chicken sandwich, and my wife got the pulled pork bbq plate. Everything was great. Sandwich and pork were delicious, the hush puppies were great. Cucumber salad could have used a little more salt & pepper, but you can season it yourself to your taste. I'm sure it gets very loud & busy later in the day, but we were just about the only people there when we went right when it opened. If you are a Hilton gold or diamond, and staying at the condos, rather than the hotel (where they give you complimentary breakfast), you can use your daily dining credit here. Prices aren't the cheapest, but it's a great use of your credit. Service was VERY slow. Our waiter was friendly and apologetic, but I have no idea why it would take nearly half an hour to get our food out when like I said, there was almost no one else there.

Here on business trip solo. Needed an early dinner after travel and checking in next door at Embassy Suites. Host was friendly and able to get me to a seat almost immediately. Menu had a nice selection of food choices. I went with the ‘Certified Clucker Sandwhich’. It came with the spice-battered fries and pickles on the side. I went with an additional Green Beans side. Food came out quick. Waitress was attentive. The food portion was large (I couldn’t finish) and was excellent tasting.

We visited Black Drum (while on vacay - based upon a TikTok review). The restaurant itself is nice. The service was extremely slow, and the food really didn’t live up to the hype. The Mac & Cheese and veggies were probably a 4/10 (at best), the mashed potatoes were awesome (8/10), and brisket (per my bf) was a 6/10.

This brewery was stunning! The food was on the more expensive side, but worth every penny! My husband got an IPA and said it was really good. We got the poutine fries and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was a little dry, but those poutine fries were amazing. Would definitely go back and try some other options.

We went to the embassy suites by Hilton amd came to black drum and they are absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is super friendly. There drinks are tasteful and even when I asked what one drink was, they offered to let me try it first and the drink did not make you second guess. It was absolutely amazing! And for an individual who is picky about fish and chips, theirs is absolutely to die for! Does not have a fishy taste and is super soft and falls apart. I would absolutely recommend this company/establishment.
