We just arrived in Juneau, and I have found my coffee spot! What a great, cool, eclectic, funky vibe. and the coffee was fantastic. We arrived later on a Sunday afternoon. The servers never missed a beat and never made us feel uncomfortable, considering we came so close to their closing hour. They treated us as if we were their first customers of the day, not their last. What a refreshing breath of fresh air, considering service has taken a hit post-Covid. Local Robot art, doll head candles, gilded insects in frames, planchettes, and more fun treasures, adorn this crazy, cool, space; and I was left feeling like I have so much more to discover. I can’t wait to go back and if you haven’t gone yet, what are you waiting for? An EDIT: The food is AMAZING!!!! Everyone told me that…and they were right! I had this incredible Bone Broth, Pork Belly Noodle Dish…and can’t wait to have it again!

I enjoyed my biscuit and eggs. Eggs were well seasoned. I wouldn’t get the half waffle. My sister had it and the texture was off

Forget the Hangar on the Warf, THIS is the best food in Juneau. The vibes and decor are unique as well. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. If you have any allergies, this is the place to come. They can cook everything in sesame oil to even accommodate sulfite allergies. This place is not to be missed.

My favorite spot in Juneau! Great coffee, fantastic food and the sipping broth warmed my entire soul. The staff is super cool and friendly too! Big fan. Big fan.

My god what a gem in Juneau. This cute little witchy breakfast spot has such an eclectic menu it took me nearly 15 minutes just to decide what to order. Of course I hodgepodged my order to be the biscuits and gravy with added potatoes and eggs. Every damn thing on that plate was delicious. The gravy being in a cappuccino cup did so much for me it didn’t even make sense it was just so darn cute. Also the potatoes could keep you safe from any vampire with all that garlic and I loved every second of it. Considering the place is witchy I assume they use black magic on those biscuits cause DAMN. Already can’t wait to come back and try more.

The Dowser was one of the best things I ate while staying in Juneau for three days. I will remember that sandwich fondly for years to come. *Chef’s kiss*

I wish I would have taken a photo prior to eating! Aims and the BMK have mastered dope flavors and delicious foods. My only regret is not stockpiling 5 more croissants and pork belly musubis. We will be back! 🖤

Fantastic food, nice owners, good coffee, and sadly gone forever. Popped into this little place because of the good reviews, owner told me they will be closing as of today so, if Yelp doesn't reflect they won't be back sadly. Wishing the best of luck!

It can be tricky to find a vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurant in Juneau--we were super grateful to have found Black Moon Koven. I suppose because it's sort of a vibey "theme cafe" (Witchcraft/Magic) I didn't expect to be blown away by the food but thought we'd give it a go. We walked up to the counter to order and had several questions about menu items which were all politely and patiently answered by either the person working the register or a woman who was trying to have her lunch but seemed to know all the ins and outs of the menu and made several recommendations, including an off the menu coffee drink for a vegan member of our party. I had the Tarot biscuit and a Thai iced tea. The biscuit itself was absolutely delicious, and just packed with fresh vegetables. The Thai Iced tea was excellent as well. The Sun rice bowl was made vegan and was also excellent. We found Black Moon Koven at the end of our trip or we would have returned. It totally exceeded expectations and is definitely recommended if you are looking for coffee and sandwiches and for anyone who is vegetarian or just looking for something other than fish.

Fun cafe with great food. We both got biscuits in different ways and enjoyed them both. Mine had creamy scrambled eggs in them, but the star was the biscuit which was so flakey. I also had a tea with their own mix which was great, and later came back for their melon lemonade which was also really good. Love the art inside.

I love the quirky, playful witchcraft vibe here. It's a really small space with the type of food you rarely find in Alaska. I love veggies. Alaska does not. Anything vegetable focused is extremely hard to find in Alaska. And usually, once you find such a dish, the veggies are of poor quality. Not here! I got a sandwiched that was just veggies and cheese. That's it. But it was more rich and hearty that most meat-based sandwiches I've had! The menu is mainly breakfast and lunch-based, and they often close at 2pm. I got here just before 2pm and it was a madhouse. It was packed and took a really long time to get my food. But, as soon as I laid eyes on all the beautiful veggies, I knew the wait was worth it. The staff was also really friendly and walked me through some of their other menu items as they were closing, I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in Juneau!

This place is a hidden gem. Huge portions, very friendly atmosphere. Make sure you get a seat when you get there though (it's first come first served) the food was amazing. I got the mini moon and couldn't finish it. Can't imagine what a full moon looks like. Probably a good solid 3 pounds of food. Lol. I'll be headed back. Only recommendation is I wish they had drip coffee.

I've only been here in Juneau for 3 yrs, and it took a friend of mine from down South to make me aware of this awesome place she read in a magazine BMK was featured in. Eventually got to try it out on a Sunday with a friend for Ladies get-together, and boy, the black moon Koven didn't disappoint. Their Matcha latte was good, Thai Tea was great per my friend and their sweet dishes were amazing! One other thing is that it's big portions so 1 Pinata $14 can be shared with another. I will try to explore more of their menu. Regarding ambiance, it's pretty cool with all the Wiccan and goth designs playfully placed throughout the area. Something different is always a good thing in my opinion. I love the designs. At first, I thought it was a tarot card reading place when I first came to Juneau--- it's a hip and yummy breakfast and lunch place. Thankful for this place. Coming from down south, this kind of place is what I like to visit - I.e. Urth cafe down south to chill and have good coffee or tea ---so. I am positively happy I found BMK. We stumbled upon this gem after first arriving in Juneau. Our family of ten took up almost all of the seats, but it was a perfect spot for us because there were so many unique and delicious choices! Everything everyone ordered was a big hit, and the ingredients were all fresh and tasty. I don't remember the names of what we enjoyed, but the brisket pho and sandwiches were a favorite, and the spam rice bowl, so good! It has a quirky fun vibe, and the staff are kind and patient.

Some of the best food in Juneau. Their GF waffle was AMAZING. Highly recommend. I don't live in Juneau and unfortunately this food is something I'll always crave! Wish we could go back

Best bahn mi in town! Trust me, I tried them all. So far I have loved all the food I have tried. Great service and spooky ambiance.

Stumbled across this place on yelp and with only a few reviews and photos we decided to give it a try. WOW were we pleased!!!! We tried a few different items on the list. Portion size was big and worth the price. My wife had the salted pig hashes to ashes. It was packed with so much flavored she didn't add any pepper or hot sauce. (Like she normally does) A little on the greasy side but not to over bearing. I ordered the sinners & saints dish which was listed as a small place but again portion size was well above and beyond. No complaints. I felt like I had a mash up of various Pacific Islander flavor which I highly enjoyed. We went on a Monday late morning and it was not busy at all. We had good customer service and the food came out promptly. I agree with a previous post about the esthetics of the signage. If I hadn't yelped the place prior I would have thought it to be a tarot reading/ psychic place. It was clean and I enjoyed looking at the art displayed throughout. You bus your own dishes but I am ok with that. The place could use more seating options. Over all I was surprisingly pleased with the food, service and price. Definitely found our new go-to spot for brunch. 4.5/5

Most of the restaurants Steve and I went to when we went to Juneau for a visit were restaurants we added to our bookmark list before making the trip. Black Moon was an unexpected surprise. As we were exploring downtown we came across it and made a point to return the next day. This place totally brings out my inner goth (which was more noticeable in the late 90's and early 00's) and I simply loved it! Yes, this would definitely appeal to goths going on atmosphere and at the front of the restaurant there is a corner that looks like someone can read you tarot cards. The food menu looks like it shifts often. They have a great waffle menu but we were told that they are made on the weekends and not available during the week... at least that's what we were told at the time. I settled on a different menu with their Banh Mi which was very good! The meat was cold pork butt which gave the sandwich a dimension I don't often get when eating this sandwich. Coffee drinks here are good too! I definitely recommend this place for visitors or Juneau diners looking for something a bit more unusual!

OK guys... I am in Juneau in the off-season. Literally at the end of February. This is the time that all restaurants to take time off and just Coast. This place decided that, even in the off-season, they would continue their excellence. The pork belly bánh mì was amazing. But that wasn't really even the star of the show. If you get an opportunity to go here do not miss a hot cup of bone marrow. After two days of mediocre food in Juneau in the off-season, I found this place. Maybe my favorite place in Juneau!

A yummy, funky spot in downtown Juneau! Have vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat for the carnivores. My boyfriend and I walked by and had to pop in for a look - ended coming back for breakfast the next day. I got the bamphamet with was flavorful with lots of tasty goat cheese! Patrons were nice there and ended up in conversation with the people next to us. Would recommend for a quick casual bite.

Two sandwiches and two Thai teas cost $40. Absolutely not worth it. The bahn mi was good but the bread was dry and cheap, not worth the 17$. The BLT was not good. Skimped on the avocado whip and the ingredients didn't fit into the roll so it was a chore to eat. The vibe is fun and the workers are friendly but the food is not worth the price. Thai teas were watery :(

I wasn't sure I'd find a restaurant in Juneau that could accommodate my vegan diet and catastrophic nut allergy, but this place did! I had a wonderful vegan and nut free meal. The service was good, they were very careful and thoughtful. I don't understand the edgy/dark ambiance as I am not edgy. In fact, I have no edges, I'm a perfect sphere. They didn't seem to mind my lack of edge

Came here for breakfast after seeing the size of the line at the Rookery. Biscuits are AMAZING. Highly recommend giving them a try. I didn't realize that in addition to the menu posted on the wall there were specials on two additional signs - the specials looked really good so be sure to ask/don't overlook. It's a fun, funky little place that we really enjoyed.

What a cute and unique find. This place has the perfect witchy vibe, and some great food. They have an extensive drink menu. I went with a simple iced latte, but it was divine. The pork belly bahn mi was fresh and delicious, and not to mention huge. I can't wait to make my way back here on my next Juneau layover.

Great food with gluten free and vegan options! We got the hash with added veggies and no eggs. So flavorful, comforting and everything was cooked perfectly. We also got the plant based Buddha bowl which was also good and tasted very fresh.

Like many, I thought this was a tattoo parlor or psychic for months. It's actually Gonzo 2.0! But it has a witch themed makeover and is now downtown--all good things in my opinion. You already know the folks behind Gonzo cook very good and innovative food for Juneau. Banh mis with brisket and pork belly were good, waffle was good though they gave us the wrong one. I don't even care, I'm coming back every week and to try everything on the menu. So happy to find you, Black Moon Koven!

Such a cool vibe here! Dark and interesting but still so comfy. Very original ambiance. The waffles and chai latte were amaaaazing. Highly recommend the strawberry/vanilla whip waffles. They have a ton of local artwork and a great playlist. Go if you're looking for great food and a cool vibe!!

Oh. My. Goodness. One of the most incredible breakfast places I've ever been to. Their Moon Grain Bowl was life changing. I ordered a mini and ended up having leftovers - it was more than enough food! Highly recommend.

Place is really cute on the inside and looks to have great food (didn't eat there but looked great). Made an amazing dry cappuccino (and I'm very picky about my dry Capps). The lady that helped us was helpful and really sweet. Will be back soon!!

I've eaten here most mornings for the past week. The food is consistently delicious and nutritious and they've been so great about gluten free allergy needs. The coffee is among the best and most consistently good I've had in the PNW.
