We got medium cappuccinos, blueberry pancakes, and egg and cheese bagel. The cappuccino was good but not sure if the espresso was a big weak or if we just didn’t taste the espresso flavor in the cappuccino or if the cappuccino was made with drip coffee (I think the first option as espresso is on their menu). The pancakes were amazing! Great blueberries, perfect done. The egg and cheese bagel was a bit dry. A thin spread of cream cheese would make a huge difference. The egg and cheese itself were good.

UPDATE: I heeded Jen's generous offer to try their latte again, and they didn't disappoint. The latte was substantially better, and it's great to see this cafe strive to provide the best it can. In Philly's growing (and already crowded) cafe scene, there's no room for failure. If you also want to think outside of the box, try their draft latte - provided by La Colombe roasters. They additionally have a rich brunch menu, I ate the paleo hash - delicious and filling, I highly recommend! See David for your coffee, and don't be shy to start a conversation with the staff - they're super friendly and engaging. All in all, a very warm atmosphere, great attitudes, great service, great end result ... I've revised my rating (and added new photos). ORIGINAL POST: This is an example of a latte gone horribly wrong. When you see bubbles like this, you know it won't taste good.

Black N Brew was a great spot for my partner and I to grab a quick but delicious breakfast. I got cornbread and eggs with veggie chili and my partner got a standard eggs with bacon potatoes and toast. Food was great, coffee was perfect, would definitely come again.

Amazing local coffee and food joint. The staff seems to know everyone and are extremely friendly. The coffee is good and the food awesome. Don't skip this place if you find yourself in South Philly

Delicious food, cute ambiance, wonderfully charming staff (Colleen is so kind!) We had the egg sandwich with bacon, breakfast burrito, green smoothie, and coffee, all were excellent. The food came out fast, was reasonably priced (especially for the quality), and would love to make this our go-to brunch spot when we move into the area.

One of my favorite spots! So many options. Friendly staff. Vegan brownies are to die for and the salads are delicious.

I had the eggs over corn bread. I probably wouldn’t order it again. The corn bread was a bit too dry for my tastes. The rest was delicious. The staff was friendly and the place has a great ambiance. We sat outside, and since it is right in the middle of Passyunk Square, it has a bit of a small town feel. Will come back for sure.
