UPDATE:
I heeded Jen's generous offer to try their latte again, and they didn't disappoint. The latte was substantially better, and it's great to see this cafe strive to provide the best it can. In Philly's growing (and already crowded) cafe scene, there's no room for failure. If you also want to think outside of the box, try their draft latte - provided by La Colombe roasters.
They additionally have a rich brunch menu, I ate the paleo hash - delicious and filling, I highly recommend!
See David for your coffee, and don't be shy to start a conversation with the staff - they're super friendly and engaging. All in all, a very warm atmosphere, great attitudes, great service, great end result ... I've revised my rating (and added new photos).

This is an example of a latte gone horribly wrong. When you see bubbles like this, you know it won't taste good.
