The 18 Best Restaurants & Hotels In Healdsburg - Healdsburg - The Infatuation

"In a town filled with coffee shops, it’s hard to pick just one, but we keep coming back to Black Oak Coffee Roasters. Their single-origin pourover coffee is prepared flawlessly to bring out subtle flavors, and they also have inventive lattes infused with lavender, spiced brown sugar, and wildflower honey with bee pollen. And if you’re hungry, there's a menu of tartines, breakfast burritos, chia puddings, and more. The pastries are great too, especially the jalapeño cheddar scone." - allison green

Google
This is the crema you’ve been searching for, the kind that makes your inner barista whisper, “hot damn”. Black Oak is absolutely dialed. I hit it twice in two days while bouncing around Healdsburg, and every pull, every pour, every sip was on point. We’re talking silky microfoam, balanced extraction, and flavor notes hitting like a perfectly tuned V60 on a crisp morning. Day two, the line was massive, but these folks run their bar like a damn Formula 1 pit crew. Four people on bar, ripping through orders with precision and zero attitude. Lightning-fast workflow, clean shots, consistent temp. You can tell they actually give a damn. Great staff, cool shop, and legitimately some of the best coffee in town. If you care about your caffeine the way sommeliers care about tannins, this place is your spot.

Google
Tried the Lavender Matcha Latte and Peanut Butter Mocha here -- both were amazing! The lavender matcha was super smooth with a nice floral touch, not too sweet. The peanut butter mocha was rich, nutty, and cozy, like a warm hug in a cup. And the vibe here is super chill — clean, modern, and the kind of place you could post up with a laptop or just people-watch all afternoon. 10/10 would order again.

Google
This is THE place in town for your coffee! It's where the locals hang, the dogs gather, and the people watching is the best. My Americano was delicious every time I came here, (4), and I had a spinach quiche, bought a bag of whole coffee beans to go, but the best part of all was...a perfectly warmed chocolate chip cookie that just melted in your mouth! Incredible...The energy inside is contagious, the large windows up front with a small ledge for your Joe and sweet treat, is perfectly located, and the conversations amongst the tables behind you, confirm that you've found the town hangout. Enjoy! I sure did.

Google
Overall, great experience my first time visiting. I had a very pleasant coffee, I purchased decaf beans to go. I even made a friend.

Google
Honestly, obsessed. Love this shop. The coffee and tea were great. I was at a bachelorette party and we stopped here twice on our 3-day Sonoma visit because it was so good. The aesthetic of the shop was also so cute! They have grounds/beans you can buy to make your own coffee at home, too. There’s a bathroom and self-serve water with glasses if you need it.

Google
I've heard really good things about this spot so l made sure to stop by while in town! I got the Pandan latte which i enjoyed. I also tried their saffron cortado which was a unique twist on a cortado, I do wish i could've tasted the saffron a little bit more though. My boyfriend ordered their jalapeño cheddar biscuit and wow! It was incredibly moist and flavorful, definitely a must grab.

Google
Good coffee location and it get busy at times. I want to say that the AC turns on very cold. Parking some time is hard to find because it’s near the downtown area.

Google
I cannot say enough about Black Oak and how much I love it! The food and bakery items are exceptional, and the lattes are some of the best I’ve ever had. The lovers lane latte with vanilla cold foam (pictured) is to die for! I live 20-30 minutes from here, but I wanted to try it out, and they didn’t disappoint! I returned that same weekend with my family and went twice that day because their coffee was THAT GOOD. I was very pleased and couldn’t stop raving to my friends about Black Oak. I would drive out here any day, and I so badly wish we had one in Santa Rosa. Not to mention, the pricing is reasonable compared to most shops. After trying Black Oak, nothing compares, and all I want now is to invest in an espresso machine to use their beans at home whenever I’d like- it’s seriously that good! The atmosphere and location are also amazing. The vibes inside the shop are cozy, warm, and inviting, but if you want to enjoy the great weather, they have outdoor seating, and the shop is a few steps from their downtown square. My experience with Black Oak has been a 10/10 in every aspect, and I wish I had found them sooner. I love Black Oak Coffee!!

Yelp
Cute coffee spot. Latte was perfect for a rainy day. Not too sweet - just right. My daughter also loved the hot cocoa

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop ever!!! Their drinks are insanely good, and their Duomo coffee beans are the only beans I'll buy now. I'm not kidding, I even have an online subscription because I can't live without them. Whenever I'm back home in Sonoma County, I always plan a Healdsburg day just so I can stop by here. The line was out the door today but it moved very quickly. I got the tiramisu latte and it was amazing! It was delicious without being too sweet, surprisingly. And it even came with a ladyfinger on top! I 100% recommend stopping by Black Oak!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing coffees! Especially if you want a specialty type drink. Recently, we tried the sticky toffee pudding latte and black sesame flat white. The latte was delicious! It tasted like a dessert but I could still taste the coffee. You could taste the sesame in the flat white but it didn't overpower the coffee. I feel like there is always a long line, but it goes fast. If you don't want to wait I recommend ordering ahead.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovers lane latte. You won't regret it! Good coffee, lots of space, friendly service. There's always a small line but it goes quickly.

Yelp
Went here for the first time on our way out of town on my last trip to Healdsburg and loved it! The service was quick and the drinks are fantastic! We had the iced peanut butter mocha and an elderflower iced tea. The vibes inside are very nice and it looked like a great spot to sit and catch up if you're able to spend some time there.

Yelp
I spotted Black Oak while wandering in the plaza, and went the next morning. I had heard good things about Black Oak's other location from a friend, and I'm glad I went to this spot! There was a crowd, but the line moved very fast with the place well staffed and a combination of counter and QR codes to place your order. Staff were especially energetic and friendly despite the morning crowd. Interior has warm wood decor and is well lit. Most of the space is for standing around the order counter but there are some tables inside, along with the plaza outside, as well as the alleyway seating, for plenty of spots to enjoy your coffee at. There's some bicycle stands outside on the sidewalk too. Coffee itself was great. My partner and I both got lattes and we really enjoyed them. I got the chai latte: perfectly balanced with warm, aromatic spices and just the right amount of creamy sweetness. My partner got the lavender latte and she loved it. Notes of lavender and not overly sweet.

Yelp
Black Oak is one of my favorite Sonoma County coffee shops. I have been up to their original location in Ukiah, but I'm very glad they have one in Healdsburg! I had a friend who was visiting from the East Coast try all my favorite local coffee shops. He is basically the most picky person I know when it comes to coffee. He said that Black Oak's light roast Geisha pour over was the best he had not just in Sonoma County, but possibly anywhere. I would also agree that their roasts are particularly good all around. I actually love their Duomo brew, it's one of my favorite roasts to do at home. They have a nice, seasonal menu during the year. Their Pumpkin Spice latte is fantastic! The service here is always very friendly and helpful. I love how open the coffee shop is and it is always packed with locals and tourists. It is well lit and the tables are comfortable. My only complaint is they only have one bathroom. Love this place! Come check them out!

Yelp
Had a wonderful cup of coffee in the beautiful little town of Healdsburg. This is such a charming area of town. It reminds me of a small little ski village. I chose the special cardamom latte with honey and it was absolutely incredible. Never had those flavors before in a latte. I will for sure be stopping by again the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
SLOP Good coffee though Drink lots of it because that's the only way you'll be full when you leave

Yelp
I got the pistachio mocha and it was delicious! I really liked the crisps on top and the pistachio flavor was so yummy. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. The service was great and the shop was so cute. Definitely a great place to get some work done. I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Mondana D.

Yelp
This place has AMAZING coffee. I got a soy latte and the quality of the coffee is really robust but not too bitter. We ended up buying the Redd roast and they grind it for us. The ambiance is super cute- very modern, beige white and lots of seating available inside. I did not see the outdoor patio but they have one if you want to sit outside!
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Friday morning and had a delicious Lovers Lane latte!! The bee pollen added a very yummy touch. I would definitely get again. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 as we had to sit outside, even though it was a bit chilly out, because there isn't tons of indoor seating. Since it was a weekday, there were a LOT of people working in there and I don't think there's enough seating to allow people to work all day in there.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious iced lattes! This place was recommended by a shop down the street. They have amazing ice lattes! We had great customer service and all the workers are very friendly. We bought a bag of whole bean coffee for our at home machine and are enjoying it. Can't wait to come back and try more.
google avatar

Edison H.

Yelp
Love the overall space! It's pretty spacious with a decent amount of seating. Perfect for dates, studying, and really just coffee. The line was long but the staff kept things going. We ordered their lover's lane latte and horchata latte. The horchata latte was frankly a bit too sweet - it really overpowered the other flavors. Hard to taste the coffee or.. horchata for that matter. Still tasted good though! The Lover's Lane latte had a subtle taste of honey. Overall drink was just okay - not the best we've had!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a lot going for it like really clean appealing ambiance, great location, custom labeled glassware, cute mugs. However, the matcha and coffee on my first visit here just weren't that good. The matcha was watered down and the cappuccino tasted burnt. I'm really torn because I want to come back for the vibes but I need to enjoy my drink. I may be alone in this because there was a pretty hefty line of people waiting to order. Staff was great.

Yelp
While on vacation in healdsburg I searched for the best coffee shop and I feel like I struck gold with this spot! Im actually bummed that they aren't near me so they could be my local place. The ambiance was pleasant and not too crowded. I got their pumpkin spice latte and the flavor was well balanced, more pumpkin thank spice and the consistency of the frothed milk was perfection! Highly recommend to all my coffee lovers
google avatar

Yelp
Gingerbread Latte! Stopped in last week for an early afternoon pick me up. I normally order a traditional, not sweet latte. But Everyone's been raving about the gingerbread latte so I had to try it (pro tip: request 'light sweet' - that was still plenty sweet!). Gingery, cozy, delicious, and oh-so-cute with a gingerbread cookie served on top! This seasonal drink tasted like a warm holiday hug! Give it a try while it's still on the menu!

Yelp
I am usually skeptical to try new coffee shops but I am so happy I tried this place out!! I got the Brown sugar spiced latte and a lox bagel with regular cream cheese 10/10. The first sip of my coffee was amazing foamy, creamy, not too sweet, just perfect! This is easily my new favorite spot in the north bay. The lox bagel tasted fresh and delicious. The workers were very sweet and helped me decide between a couple of options I was considering. Im happy I tried this and will come back to try out more! The ambiance was relaxing and calm considering it was a Thursday morning at 8/9AM. I will say it was more on the pricer side I paid about $23 .

Yelp
fantastic coffee shop in healdsburg plaza. Came here all three days we were here and tried something different each time, they were all great. Love me the matcha and the special matcha for valentines. The place is spacious, though its extremely popular it was hard to get a table. The pastries and food looked delicious, especially the ham and cheddar sandwich on sourdough. OH MY! The staff is friendly and look like they enjoy what they are doing. The lines are long (close to or out the door) but it moves relatively fast. wish we had one of these places in san jose!
google avatar

Yelp
We were really blown away by the coffee here. The lavender latté really struck a perfect balance of high quality coffee and not being too sweet. The place itself was clean and pleasant, and the staff were great. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Excellent place to get an afternoon coffee. Ordered Orange Cardamom Latte - it was amazing

Yelp
Came back and tried the Finca Buenos Aires Sidra. Coincidentally, I did this before Dean the business owner commented on my previous review. This pourover was a knockout. It tasted like a nectarine was liquified into my cup. Every sip was so tasty and the smell on the nose was so good I made everyone I was with indulge me and take a big whiff of it. In my opinion, this is the better of the two offerings currently on the menu. Can't go wrong with either, but this stone-fruit flavor with medium-bright acidity and overall, nice balance on the finish (with good body) is more rare than the berry fruits you get with the Gesha currently available as pourover. This Finca Buenos Aires Sidra was the best coffee I tried on my trip (Tried pourover from Voyager coffee, retrograde, coffee and water lab, Ritual).

Yelp
Dear Yelp Community, I visited for the first time this month while passing through Healdsburg. Enjoyed my hot drink with bee pollen sprinkled on top. Large space...up to you (and the drink) to bring the warmth... Neat standing table outside. Well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

Yelp
After wine tasting and lunch, we ended up going to this coffee shop. The house was super generous and took the time and explaining different types of coffee.. She was one of my favorite because she really listened to our needs and gave us a really yummy cup of heaven. The lavender latte. This is a clean and super cute area. Just hang out before driving back home.
google avatar

Jerry X.

Yelp
As someone who drinks way too much coffee for my own health, black oak was the perfect stop after a local wine tasting. Each of the four of our group got a different drink, but all were equally tasty and delicious. My personal drink was a simple lovers lane latte, which was the perfect amount of sweet and savory when coupled with oat milk. All-in-all, black oak really hits the spot for those caffeine-driven individuals!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in Healdsburg. Every time I'm in town I stop by for a cup of Joe. They are located in downtown Healdsburg right off the main plaza. The space is warm and inviting with plenty of seating inside. I love their stylish decor. They have a big coffee menu and plenty of pastries if you're hungry. It's always fun to try their specialty drink menu. I also like to order a regular latte. The coffee art is fun. Their bags of coffee are great for gifts.
google avatar

Belle J.

Yelp
I was looking for a good coffee shop in the area and my friend recommended this place. The inside is very big and nice. I love the interior decoration. There are also plenty of tables inside. I got matcha latte, blueberry muffin and quiche. Matcha latte is a bit bland for me and not sweet at all so I am not a big fan of it. But the pastry was really good, especially quiche! Service was lovely. I will definitely be back next time!

Yelp
Stopped by Black Oak Coffee Roasters for a coffee and the seasonal horchata latte; both were solid. We also shared a tasty breakfast burrito, which was a good portion for two. Friendly service a plus. Will return.
google avatar

Yelp
My latte really hit the spot -- smooth, balanced, and perfectly made. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly. It's a great place to relax or get a little work done. I'd definitely come back!

Cheley F.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Coffees are fantastic and the pastries, too! Wonderful service and beautiful atmosphere!

Yelp
In the past decade, Healdsburg has become the center of trendiness and culture on the fringes of the Bay Area. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing for a basically agricultural town that found a sweet spot in developed taste and quality. This coffee roaster is a perfect example of an independent coffee establishment that brings down the conglomerate institutions of the likes of Starbucks or Peets. Not that those places aren't worthy of recognition and good quality, it's different in that they are high volume mass produced corporate entities driven primarily by profit. This gem of a coffeehouse is just off the main Square is delightful, "homey," and yes, trendy. The aroma of good quality coffee permeates when going through the front door. The place is accommodating in space with indoor and outdoor patio seating, yet by mid day, nearly every seat was taken by the ubiquitous coffeehouse laptop sitters who lanquish in these places for hours. Are they homeless? In desperate need of social interaction, although they never interact? Does one coffee allow them a seat for four hours? They were here in abundance! I got a latte and a very wonderful looking chocolate chip cookie. The offerings are good, and the quality level is obvious, along with the expected high price tags. I paid approximately $11. for a coffee, cookie, and tip. The cookie was absolutely scrumptious, well baked, and worth every cent for a snack. The coffee came in a beautiful cup and saucer and was delightful. They work on the same level as Blue Bottle Coffee (which is also somewhat corporate, yet at a higher level). Overall, it was a very good experience. Service was efficient. The only reason I knocked it down one star is the price point, although the value is there, and the fact if you want a seat, forget it here.
google avatar

Sukhveer K.

Yelp
Such an amazing coffee shop! The peanut butter mocha was such a surprise, it was delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful in making recommendations. The dark chocolate croissant was so good! The avocado toast and bacon sando were also pretty good. There was plenty seating to enjoy your coffee and in a great location. Definitely recommend making this your next coffee stop if you're in Healdsburg!
google avatar

Yelp
Working in Santa Rosa for two weeks, we love the Ukiah location so we drove 25 minutes this morning for coffee, and it was definitely the right choice. We grabbed a Lovers Lane lavender and bee pollen latte (if relaxing can be a flavor, this is it!) and a coconut Pandan Latte. Both were excellent, added a granola yogurt then sat back and enjoy(e)d a peaceful start to our Anniversary day.
google avatar

Yelp
Several months ago, I had their seasonal Lemon Meringue coffee drink (I don't remember the exact name). It was the best coffee drink I ever had!!! It was espresso over ice, topped with a lemon and vanilla cold foam, and a dash of cinnamon. It was so good that I still think about it and have tried to make it at home. I live about 90 minutes from the coffee shop and have even told staff at my local coffee shops about it, hoping they will try to duplicate it as one of their seasonal specials someday.
google avatar

Brent F.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee places around. I just wish they opened a location in San Francisco or closer to it, since I will go anytime I am in Healdsburg or Ukiah. The signature lattes like the Lovers Lane are great and they have a great selection of food and snacks. Breakfast burritos, etc. Good amount of seating although can be busy.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Enjoyed a good quality loose leaf assam tea two days in a row, once hot and once over ice - it's so rare to find an unflavored iced black tea done right. Lots of seating and nice service. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Christy A.

Yelp
This place is amazing. We loved the vibe and we loved the coffee. They also had the best blueberry biscuit I've ever had! This place is a must try

Yelp
coffee was fine (just had drip coffee), but the brown butter toffee cookie was awesome

Yelp
Another Sunday outing to read and enjoy the fresh Spring air. The shop was busy but the staff were friendly and not bothered by the constant rush. The small booths in the front were inviting for my wife and me to sit comfortably and read while sipping on a lavender oak milk latte and dirty chai latte, respectively. I can see why this is a popular place, whether for a quick drink and bite or to lounge in, we will be back!
google avatar

Gene D.

Yelp
Now, that is what I would call a coffee spot! The ambiance/vibe, the smell of the coffee/tea, the food, etc. Come here to take a respite from window shopping. You will not be disappointed. The medium sized Matcha Chai and Buttermilk Biscuit Breakfast sando were delicious and filling at the same time. They were able to hold me until dinner, both from an energy and appetite standpoint. It was also fun to people watch, especially with the kiddos that came with their parents.
google avatar

Marcos S.

Yelp
The peanut butter latte was ok, it needed more peanut butter to make it feel like the name I think. Got two chicken focaccia sandwiches and they were overpriced at $14 for bread, mayo cheese and some chicken. My wife's looked like she got a half serving of chicken in hers. I mean the quality wasn't bad, but it wasn't much. Same with the $8 yogurt, but then again I guess it's tourist prices in healdsburg. Coffee is decent though, if I had just gotten a latte it probably would have been a 4 star review. too bad...
google avatar

Sean W.

Yelp
Good coffee, nice people modern, stylish look and not cramped. ..,Yelp says this review is too short so here are some more words to make the algorithm happy... "Coffee shop, 'nuff said."
google avatar

MaryAnn M.

Yelp
Great reward to come here today. Friendly staff, great lavender latte and I ordered a breakfast burrito without the tortilla and it's fantastic. Fast too. Love this place. Lots of happy people here!!
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
We were looking for a good coffee shop during our short stop into town and boy did we find a gem!!! The moment you walk in you know it's gonna be good because it's bustling! The baristas are so nice and make everything with such care! The gluten free blackberry scone was magical and my husband was obsessed with his chocolate chip cookie! Also the coffee was delicious!! I got their honey latte and it was so creamy and the coffee was smooth! The cold brew was also great and easy to sip!! Definitely going back as much as we can on our trip!
google avatar

Marty P.

Yelp
I like what they do with the iced coffee now they put it in a shaker with ice because it a little little bit of froth and a little bit of flavor and not as much ice. Thank you for the upgrade. I hope it continues.!!! I'm a big fan of the coffee, not bitter. It's kind of smooth and smoky.
