Casual downtown counter for Greek and Persian plates—think koobideh, joojeh, avgolemono, and baklava. Recent ordering pages and reviews show steady hours; great value near Schack Art Center and Wetmore.

The food had good flavor but the portion of meat in the gyro was quite disappointing. The gyro had 4 tea spoon sizes of lamb and primarily poorly chopped lettuce. The "Greek fries" were just regular fries with 13 tiny pieces of feta scattered on top of them. Would have expected more for the price.

Dec 2024: We came here for the fries (introducing Greek food to family). We were not disappointed! Another family member had a salad that was modified around her food allergies. Staff is polite, warm, friendly, and accommodating, like family, and 5 star restaurants. They check on you after a little while to see how you like your food and if you need anything. Although small in size, and the free dispensed water cups are a little small (bottled drinks from a slide-door fridge is another option), it is still well deserving of the overall 5 star reviews listed here. Of the fries: They have just the right amount of spices and salt (It brought back good memories of another great Greek restaurant I grew up eating at in another city). I would rate the amount of feta cheese as 9/10 (I love cheese). The fries are similar to that of McDonald's, but it is not greasy. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside, good consistency, not starchy, just right. We loved the relaxing nighttime-perfect Greek jazz that played while we dined, too. We can't wait to try the pita and kabobs next time!

Delicious food! Flavorful and fresh. The service was impecable and the environment was clean and bright. Definitely one fo the best lunch spots in the area. Will be coming back!

Google
This place is insanely good!! The portions are amazing for the price and every component of the veggie platter was delicious. The falafel was flavorful but not dry. The rice was cooked perfectly. Better than any Mediterranean food I’ve had in Seattle. The owner was also incredibly sweet and checking in on all the customers.

Google
Lovely atmosphere. Fast, fast service and delicious food. But they are really generous on the feta. So if you don't want feta you should be sure to me. Ask for it on the side or not to have it cuz it is loaded. Delicious food

If you haven't checked out Black Olive Mediterranean, you should! I love Greek/Mediterranean food and this place definitely left me wanting to go back. The gentleman at the couwas nice, nice, friendly and appreciative of my business - which is very important to me. The little seating area was clean and atmosphere was pleasant. And the food was sooo good! I got an order of fries and a falafel gyro. The fries were so crispy and delicious and the dipping sauce that came with it was AMAZING! In fact, I got so full eating them i couldn't eat my gyro until later in the day. And I'm happy to say that even though many hours had passed, it held up! The pita bread was still tender and the lettuce was still crisp. $hi& like that makes me happy! And best part was I asked for no onions and there were no onions - yay! Try it, you'll like it!

Google
Located on the corner of Pacific Avenue and Hoyt Ave. Wanted to try this place after reading the positive reviews. What we ordered: 1.) Hummus and Pita $6.00 It had a smooth and tasty consistency. I did add Paprika because Hummus and paprika is my favorite way to enjoy it. 2.) Avgolemono Soup Bowl $8.00 this was very tasty sour and salty perfect balance. The soup was left out from our initial pick up, but the restaurant made it right so we went back to get it. 3.) Lamb Kabob $22.00 I order double portion of lamb. The rice was light and fluffy and the lamb was seasoned nicely. 4.) Baklava $3.50 sweet and tasty.

Google
The food is very delicious and packed with flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Portions are generous. The place is small but has enough seating and tables, and a small bathroom. We would definitely come back if we travel to Everett again.

Yelp
The food here always tastes like it is made with love and care! The onions are sliced thinly enough to soak up other flavors in your gyro, the dressing on the lettuce is just tangy enough to contrast with the creamy sauce. It's the little things that add up to a big difference in flavor. Also, I always get fresh fries here, never soggy. If it's cold outside, order their special tea. It's delicious.

Yelp
GREAT GREEK FOOD! We were greeted right away - there was one person waiting for his to-go order. The menu is nice - not too many items but not too little. They have specials available. I got the #1 Koobideh plate and my boyfriend got a gyro, baba ghanoush, falafel and the soup. Everything came out amazing! The guy was so nice - he explained things and had a nice chat with my boyfriend (who is a foodie and loves to cook as well). Price is great and you get a lot! The place is small with some tables. I think most people order take out - nothing wrong with that! If I lived in Everett, I'd definitely frequent the Black Olive.

Yelp
We had a combo set. Meat was delicious, very tender and juicy. Service was fine also. Guys were friendly. Will stop by again in the future

Yelp
If you are looking for authentic Mediterranean food, you have to stop in. This place doesn't look like much when you first drive up and even when you walk in. However, their food is superior. Packed with flavor and generous portions, I haven't left disappointed. I usually get the their lunch Koobideh (beef) special or the lamb/beef gyro. The meat is so tender and flavorful. The lunch special comes with salad and basmati rice. The white basmati rice is topped with saffron rice!!! So hard to find this made well. The owner will come and routinely check on you and ensure you are enjoying your meal. He teats his restaurant and customers like a Michelin rated spot. You can see feel how proud he is of the business. Trust me, you don't want to sleep on this restaurant. Give em a try and support local business.

Yelp
Meh... I have never had bland Greek food before. This meal was ok - the food was fresh and nicely portioned. The service was fine. However, there was minimal lemon, garlic, oregano, peppers, or anything zippy. Oh well.

Yelp
Food so good. I wish there were 6 stars. I have missed good Persian food since moving from LA. This is that good. The hummus is just right. The pitas are warm and fresh. The chicken kabob and salad and rice are all spectacular. Not as fond of the tsaztiki though. The owners are lovely. Service was great. The location and setting is not lovely but the food is so worth it.

A S.

Yelp
Fresh and delicious! Ordered the chicken kabob plate and devoured it all. Rice was light and fluffy, chicken was perfect with that wonderful grilled flavor, pita was warm and tender, and the tzatziki was so refreshing I could have drank it! Came with a side of green salad to round out a healthy, tasty, well-balanced meal. Small, clean restaurant with parking in front. Baklava in the display case looked so tempting and delicious but we were kinda full from dinner. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
All I have to say is this restaurant is a MUST try if you haven't already!!! We experienced this place last night and it was hands down amazing! We ordered Koobideh kabob, Greek fries with a lamb skewer and Caesar salad. Everything was so flavorful, honestly I can't describe in this post the flavors it something you have to experience!! Thank you Black Olive for the exceptional, friendly service and an amazing first experience!! See you again very soon!!

Kylie M.

Yelp
Amazing food, i love the hummus and pita & tzatziki as well. The only complaint I had was that they were not overly friendly and didn't give us the right amount of pita to even eat the tzatziki and pita. Otherwise, super fast and great food
google avatar

Sara W.

Yelp
It was all very tasty! We had Greek fries, falafel, a side of hummus, side of pita, and the beef and lamb gyro sandwich. There were lots of really good flavors and it wasn't bland at all. All the ingredients seemed fresh and just made. I ordered for delivery on GrubHub and it was all still warm when I got it. I would like to go in person to eat and see what the restaurant is like sometime.

Yelp
I had the Koobideh Kabob Plater and my wife had the falafel gyro with fries. The kabob was seasoned very. The potion size was great. It could have fed two people quite well. My said the falafel had a little spiciness and good flavor to it. The owner was very friendly and checked on us to see if everything was satisfactory. The restaurant was cozy and quaint. Most of their business seemed to be takeout orders.

Yelp
I don't think I ever made it to whatever was in this location previously, but this place has now made it into my lunch rotation. I was originally attracted to the name and am a little disappointed there are not more black olives served here. It's fast, with parking that's easier than a lot of places in this area and there are usually plenty of spots to sit. They usually have a daily lunch special. It tends to be more food than I can eat. I like that they have the option to make the falafel gyro vegan upon request. I've tried the dolmas. I absolutely love the hummus, it's got the best flavor of any around and is a large portion. My lunch partner is also a fan. Everyone working here is super friendly.

Yelp
Where has this place been hiding??? In plain sight, apparently! I've lived in Washington State since 2001, and being half-Persian, I can tell you hands-down that this is the BEST ground beef kabob (Kabob Koobideh) and chicken kabob (Joo-jeh kabob) that I have had. Far better than the pretentious places in Bellevue, and far FAR better than Caspian could ever aspire to be. Everything was delicious, and I ended up taking half of it home. The kabobs were so beautifully made. Amazing flavors and textures. I'm a diabetic, so I really can't (ought-not) eat rice very often, but I can tell you, this place may be the reason I finally lose a toe. Farzad, the owner, was a very kind and gracious host. We dined-in, and it was very clean and hospitable. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This place is bomb Got the Gyro special that came with fry's and it was delicious. Highly recommend this place, going back for sure. Also suggest the baklava! Service and ambiance is good.

Yelp
This is a 3 1/2 star review. I like the tiny and intimate interior of this restaurant. Just a handful of tables and an odd shaped front section. My food to go was ready quickly. I got the shrimp kebab plate. I liked the rice, sauce and shrimp. It had good flavor and was cooked well. However, for $15 I was sad there was only a single skewer on a pile of rice. I did get a few pita triangles, but it didn't come with hummus. Which I will say, of all my Greek food endeavors, this was the first time the meal had no hummus. The Greek salad was pretty good, but for a place called Black Olive, I wish I would've had more than 1 single black olive.

Yelp
This place was good! The chicken gyro sandwich was my favorite part! They forgot our sauces for take out so I didn't get a full experience but from what we did taste it was great! The veggies were really fresh , the only thing was the meat was a little dry! But I would love to try them again and see what other stuff they have!

Yelp
Delicious food, fair prices. My lamb kebab was a bit rarer than I expected, no problem. The server was happy to put it back on the grill for a few more minutes and brought it to my table. Perfection. Very casual dining experience

Yelp
This place could easily get missed being tucked in right off Pacific and Hoyt. Don't miss them, the food was excellent and fresh. The service was great and she provided us with great hospitality and information. My wife is celiac and we walked out very confident after hearing about their avoidance of potential cross contamination. Back to the great food, we will return and make an effort to work down as much of the menu that we can. Thanks

Yelp
My mom and I split the Lamb Platter. And it was very flavorful. The portion sizes are really good. We had a little left over for the next day. The service was very quick and efficient. They were very friendly as well. Music wasn't too loud or too quiet. There was plenty of seating for dine in.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! SO delicious I haven't had Mediterranean food in a while and oh man oh man my chicken gyro was delicious The service was speedy and nice I liked the counter table and chairs to sit in front of the window while I waited for my meal to go. Can home and my gyro was wrapped nice and tight so it didn't fall apart since I'm a messy eater I will definitely be coming back!

T P.

Yelp
Wow! Absolutely guaranteed you will love the food. After visiting about a thousand kabob places and always being underwhelmed we ended up here. When they asked me how I wanted the lamb cooked I knew it was going to be different. I said rare. The kabob was off the charts in terms of the flavor and the texture and everything about it was magnificent. We had the soup and baba ganoush and a chicken kabob and a lamb kabob and it was also good. Often you get chicken kabobs and they are dry ... Not here. The thing is so moist it will blow your socks off My girlfriend who has lived in Iran says she feels like she is back in Iran eating here. She said she hasn't had a good kabob in years and finally she had one. This is the spot

Yelp
Very friendly and welcoming place . Food is fresh and tasty . Overall a great family owned business and food. I would comeback again .

Yelp
Went to Black Olive today for lunch. Excellent! Small and tidy spot. They had a combo special with one ground beef kebab and one chicken - along with rice, salad, pita, and tzatziki for $20. It was huge. And more importantly - delicious! I am half Persian so I know a good kebab. These were moist and tasty. And I ended up with leftovers. I will be back with the hubby.
google avatar

Yelp
Had the beef gyro wrap. Very good! Wrap was soft and fresh. Meat was ample and delicious. The Tzatziki sauce was perfect. The fries were hot like they just came out of the fryer. Had crumbled feta cheese over the fries...yummy! The dipping sauce had a nice bite to it but not too hot...about mild-medium spicy. The service was fast, the staff polite and accommodating and the facility was clean with simple decorating. I was very satisfied with the meal and the service. I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone that has a hankering for Mediterranean food.

Arman ..

Yelp
Great food and service and ambience was nice and cozy. Not too big of a place, but big enough.
google avatar

Gabriella R.

Yelp
Food is always quick and so wonderful! Friendly staff! Love the lamb and beef gyro as well as the loaded fries!

A H.

Yelp
Best Mediterranean food ive ever had. Absolutely delicious. This man knows what hes doing. We will come back if in the area again. Very quick service, nice hot food. Perfect flavor.

Paul S.

Yelp
Everything is freshly made and so takes a few minutes to get, but not a terribly long time. Great place for take out as well as eating in. Portion sizes were a bit larger than expected, but I worked my way through it.

Yelp
Located on Hoyt Ave near the Imagine Discovery Museum. I was at the museum with my boys and was looking for lunch place. This place has an interesting menu and just couple of blocks away. We decided to dine in. It's a small restaurant with limited seating option. It was a warm welcome for us. The gentleman at the counter explained a little bit about the specials of the day. We ordered chicken Kabob Plate, Special Chicken Gyro, Falafel and Chicken Gyro sandwich for take out. It took around 15 mins for the food to be ready. It was hot and freshly prepared. Really impressed by the dishes. The special gyro had given a twist with the fries sauce. Loved the Kabob plate. Chicken was very soft and juicy. Along with the race and tzatziki sauce, it was delicious. The falafels - one of the best. This place is well maintained. Very clean and neat. The service is fabulous. They have some limited parking spaces. If you like the Mediterranean food, you may love this place! A hidden gem. Recommend it.
google avatar

Gregory M.

Yelp
It's small. It's off the main drag near the water. But oh man, is the food good. Fast service, not the cheapest, but I definitely am not complaining. It's not like you pay $17 and just get the $8.99 lunch special. It's good. The people are friendly. The place is clean But it's small...like holds ten people small.

David H.

Yelp
This is a little hole in the wall place but the costumer service was fast and attentive and the food was the bomb. When I'm in the area I'll definitely drop by again
google avatar

Elaine M.

Yelp
Today we had take out from here for the first time. The food was a perfect temperature when we got home. We had a variety of items. All were fresh and well seasoned. The staff were attentive. I recommend this place!

Eric C.

Yelp
Been passing by this place for more than two decades. Decided to try them one day a few months ago. Best falafel in Everett.

Green C.

Yelp
2 years later and this restaurant is still the best place for Koobideh kabob in the greater Seattle area! Appreciate that they offer grilled tomatoes now too!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
I ordered take out from here and it was so good!! Don't be fooled by the outside of this place or the location because the food is bomb. I picked up my food 15 minutes later after calling to place my order. The staff were super nice and recommended other dishes to try at my next visit. I'm certainly going to take them up on their offer because tonight's was delicious. I got the chicken kebab plate and it is filling! It is very large portions and the chicken is phenomenal; it's moist, flavorful, juicy, and you get lots of it! The rice, pita, and Greek salad were the perfect companions to make this meal a treat. I really like the vinaigrette for the salad and the yogurt sauce for the chicken and rice is something to drool over, it's fresh tasting with herbs and brightness. The staff knew I would be back because I'm already planning my meal for my next visit!

Chrissy T.

Yelp
Love this place for lunch! Gyro meat is perfect and all sauces are in house made & delicious!

Chris K.

Yelp
Four F's for sure! Fresh, flavorful, fast and friendly. Great place. Well done folks.

Katelyn S.

Yelp
100/100 service, food, everything! This place is my most favorite restaurant in all of Everett. I highly recommend their koobideh kabob plate, hummus and pita and their gyros as they are always my go too. Their chicken/ lamb and beef kabob are never dry so flavorful as well. There is not a single plate here I dislike. Invite your friends, as this restaurant is the place to go.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
Fantastic. You must try this place! Great food. Very friendly. Tell them Peter sent you!!
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
I have only done takeout from this restaurant but the food is awesome! I have eaten here twice now and each time my husband and I have both felt that the gyro meat is absolutely exceptional! We love the stuffed grape leaves, falafel, and hummus! Oh man, my mouth is watering. BRB gonna place another takeout order!
google avatar

Bordin E.

Yelp
Just happen to be in the area and wanted some Mediterranean food. This place hit the spot! Nicely seasoned kabob, well-cooked rice, fresh salad, and good pita bread for the lunch special. The Baklava was also good and flavorful, not too sweet. I'd recommend this spot!
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Considering all the good reviews this restaurant I found it was rather disappointing. Not bad but nothing that stood out. The salad was very basic and, gyro meat was not sliced off the spit nor fresh. The staff was polite and the ambiance was ver simple. Not really worth the effort to go out of my way.
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
Black Olive replaced the Toshi's Teriyaki not too long ago. I made a mental note to give it a try when the opportunity arose. Lots of at-home work meetings meant today was the day. I can't speak to the interior of the restaurant or the ambiance since my meals were delivered. Things I loved: -The square meal box with everything perfectly packaged. -The Avgolemodo soup! It's not easy to find this comfort soup made of chicken, lemon juice, and rice, and I'm sooo happy they have it here! It's a little different than others I've had but it's citrusy, tangy, and delicious. -The baklava. Hands down the best baklava I've had in Everett. Things that could be improved: -The avgolemodo was not in a soup container, which made it risky to transport and eat out of. Luckily it made it to me intact, but I wish it was in a soup container for safety. -The lamb plate was just one skewer. There was a healthy amount of rice and salad but the meat was lacking. -The gyro meat was a bit different. Again, don't know if there was a lot of meat compared to other Mediterranean places I've been to. Plus, it was made a bit differently (didn't seem to be carved off a spit). Were both plates good? Yes. I especially liked the salad, copious amount of feta, and salad dressing. Wasn't as big of a fan of the baba ghanoush. It was smoky but cold and it seemed like there was something missing but I couldn't put my finger on which spice. However, and I can't stress this enough, I would return for the baklava and the avgolemodo any day!

Yelp
Great food the portion size is decent, the rice is cooked beautifully, the koobideh skewers taste amazing and lamb kabob cooked to perfection

Virginia K.

Yelp
Yummy. Had the daily special for lunch (Koobideh plate with ground beef skewer, rice, pita, tzatziki and Greek salad) and seasonings were delicious. Healthy portion size for me, took half home for my roommate. Will return and try the chicken skewers. Very friendly service.
google avatar

Shah S.

Yelp
My favorite place. The food is awesome, people are very friendly. My only choice is in north Everett.

Micheal W.

Yelp
Coming from San Diego. Every time I am in Everett I come here. Food is outstanding. Definitely recommend.

Deepak C.

Yelp
We saw the reviews and decided to try. We ordered shrimp, chicken, and lamb kabob plates. Food looked fresh but in general lacked flavor. Lamb was very hard and chewy. Chicken was better among the three. All of them were served with saffron rice which could have been flavored with at least some more salt. The ambience is mainly like a take out place with a few tables to sit.
google avatar

Sherry J.

Yelp
My takeout orders are always ready quickly. I like their Greek salad with steak cube skewers. The gyros are delicious, too.
