I'm not sure how long Black Pig has been open, but living in Sheboygan we just stopped for the first time this Friday night for date night. The only negative would be, why haven't we stopped sooner!? I had the duck confit, my husband had the golden bear farms pulled pork sandwich, and we both shared the white truffle & black pepper bacon fries as an appetizer. Amazing! The atmosphere is nice, along with a good staff. Robbie was our server, and was very pleasant. Definitely will visit again, and yes, I've already spread the word on how great our experience was and recommended trying to those that haven't stopped yet!

We had an amazing dinner here. We tried the duck confit, the pork ragout, and the pork pluma — and all three dishes were absolutely unforgettable. We came all the way from Chicago and didn’t know what to expect, but the experience exceeded every expectation. Each dish was full of flavor and perfectly prepared — we truly enjoyed every moment of our meal, and it’s been a long time since we’ve enjoyed dinner this much. The service was also wonderful — warm, attentive, and thoughtful. Highly recommend this place!!!

Stopped in here for a drink and a bite and sat at the bar. We ordered an Oat Fashioned and an Ocean And The Butterfly to drink. Oat Fashioned is made with Kovel Oat Whiskey, House Luxardo Cherry Liqueur, Bitter Truth Orange Bitters, Frangelico, House Maple Whiskey, muddled orange and cherries and soda water. Served with a garnish of bacon and Luxardo Cherry. The oat flavor is definitely there, but not over powering. It was a unique twist to an old fashioned and really delicious. Ocean And The Butterfly is made with Butterfly Pea Blossom Infused Field Notes Gin, Fruitful Strawberry Liqueur, Lime Juice, Organic Simple Syrup, Club Soda and Salt. The presentation was fantastic. This drink was floral, not too sweet and refreshing. We ordered the Birria Quesadilla to share. It is made with corn tortillas which were nice and crispy. It was stuffed full of meat which was super tender and flavorful. The consume was DELICIOUS. It was thicker so you were really able to get it to grab on to the quesadilla and enjoy it with every bite. Our server/bartender, Daniel, was friendly, had great customer service and makes great drinks. If you find yourself in the Sheboygan area, we would highly recommend coming here. We will definitely be back to try something new. For more reviews, follow us on Instagram and Facebook @gbdiningdykes

My wife and I were excited to try the Black Pig. We drove from Elkhart Lake because we heard good things about this restaurant. We ordered the deviled eggs. They looked delicious. The 3 different flavors didn't live up to their eye appeal. While they all tasted good, none of them were outstanding. My wife and I have prepared better tasting deviled eggs in our own kitchen. My wife ordered the sea bass, it was excellent. I couldn't decide between the flat iron wagu or the grilled Australian lamb loin or the Iberico pork pluma. Our waiter said hands down the GRILLED MISHIMA RESERVE WAGYU FLAT IRON @ $60 was the way to go. Medium rare was recommended temperature. When the steak arrived it looked delicious,I was excited to finally have a wagyu steak.I cut into it and immediately noticed much more resistance than was anticipated for a Wagyu quality steak. The first bite was chewy, tough and tendinitis. I gave my wife a piece, she chewed it and could barely get it down. Some of the pieces were more tender and other pieces were so bad I left on the plate. Overall it was one of the worst steaks I've eaten.I can't believe that's what wagyu is supposed to taste like.I rate that steak at a 2 of 5. Even the roasted carrot was so tough it was not eatable.I should have sent this steak back to the kitchen. Because other aspects of our dinner were good and I noticed other guests enjoying there meals I would rate The Black Pig at 3. I would probably not return because it is too far to travel for a mediocre meal. Also, they charge a 4% processing fee for using your credit card. For me, that alone is a reason not to return.

Google
Unique vibe, fantastically delicious and creative menu mix. We had everything from appetizer, to soup, to main course and dessert… each was a uniquely designed culinary flavor palette. Don’t miss stopping in, plus the music is lovely.

I've been Crush-ing on the idea of going to The Black Pig for a while, and let me tell you, there's So Much to Say about this place. I took my sister here as part of her Christmas gift, and the whole experience was pure magic. We kicked things off with some amazing cocktails - she had the "I'll Back You Up," (featuring J. Henry Small Batch Bourbon), while I went with the blood orange cosmo. Both were So Right! For dinner, we both chose the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. I wanted to Stay and savor every bite, but honestly, I couldn't help myself, and I devoured it because it was just Too Much goodness. Every bite was tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. To finish, we shared the raspberry cheesecake, and wow, it was like Sweet Up and Down in dessert form. The vibe of the whole place was warm and inviting, with fun decor and an atmosphere that felt just right. Our server, Robbie, was awesome and gave thoughtful recommendations, making sure we loved every part of our meal. This place is one of the Best of What's Around. I highly recommend checking it out, you'll leave feeling So Satisfied!

Excellent dinner in a beautiful restaurant. The food was amazing and the drinks were excellent. The bartender couldn't have been better.

Yelp
I can see why they were voted by Wine Spectator!!! Amazing selection! Micheal was a gem and glad he was able to share his talent with us for the evening! His craft cocktail and knowledge is unmatched!

Yelp
Delicious food at decent prices! Definitely one of the fancier places in Sheboygan but didn't think anything was outrageously priced. Food was very well seasoned and delicious! Will definitely be returning! Server was very nice and attentive. There was plenty of seating inside but would recommend making a reservation before you go!
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
Way overpriced for the portions you get. Subpar flavors, was expecting a lot higher quality based on pricing and listed ingredients. Server automatically added gratuity for 5 adults and an infant. He was very attentive but missed taking our orders correctly. I never got the soup I asked for and croutons were on my salad (making up for about half my plate) when I didn't want them (gluten intolerance). Really cool building on a busy strip.
google avatar

Amy V.

Yelp
Super late, and the menu seems to change frequently. All was great! We never went inside but for a late night stop this was beyond delicious and the outdoor area while minimal was still beautifully lit.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here over a long weekend with my family and grandparents. The items we got were not tasty. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. I had the lamb cheeks and at $36?for the plate they were not done well. Grandpa got a burger said he wouldn't order it again. My kids got Mac n cheese and that's was good.

Yelp
Friendly bar staff and local customers. The black pig statue is good for photos as well. Would recommend

Yelp
Went on a Saturday evening. Was genuinely excited, am a local hadn't been in a while and immediately upon looking at the menu noticed the prices went up in a LARGE way. Burger is $25. Some dishes ranging close to over $50. 3 deviled eggs cost $15. You're pricing yourself out of the market!! Settled on a veggie curry, $26. Admittedly it was good, but curry no protein and priced there with all the new Indian restaurants in town?? And at peak time 6:15 on a Saturday it was a 1/3 full. Great location, not sure I'll be back tho

Yelp
Absolutely marvelous restaurant- a must when visiting Querétaro! It was our favorite restaurant in the entire city, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The food is delicious, we had burgers, pizza, nachos and dessert and every dish was fantastic with special unique touches. In fact, I've been craving their nachos since I've returned home! All of the food is handmade in the restaurant itself. The atmosphere is so nice-relaxed and fun, and the owner and service help make it the perfect restaurant for your visit.

Yelp
The food was excellent. The fries are a must do. The team was very helpful and all our food actually came out much faster than expected. (Saturday lunch). The overall feel of the place is a great mix of traditional and contemporary. At the time we were here they had Bob Ross on one TV and the NFL draft on the other.
google avatar

Yelp
Great space with an incredibly welcoming staff. Extensive menu with high quality offerings. And prices to match. Well curated bourbon and beer list.

Yelp
We really enjoyed Black Pig. We had a caesar salad & the house fries to start, as well as a Cherry Stout and their Oat Fashioned on tap. My wife enjoyed the fish (halibut, we think) special, and I had the Iberian Pork Pluma, which turned out to be super tender with two delicious sauces incorporated. We also had a dessert but I don't remember the details other than that it was good. Portions were generous (we got another meal out of the entrees). Didn't take any food photos this time, sorry!
google avatar

Brian J.

Yelp
The service was courteous, even though they were crowded both times we went there. I tired the halibut and my brother-in-law had the steak. Both were cooked perfectly. My sister liked their roast chicken over other restaurants in the area. I tried a piece and it was very flavorful and juicy. Recommend for all.

Yelp
We came for lunch on a week day and the place had quite a few families, many with kids. We ordered their Golden Bears Farm pulled pork sandwich, pork ragout pasta, and duck confit profiteroles. My favorite was the pulled pork sandwich- it was everything it should be, filled to the brim with meat and dripping with sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. The cole slaw provided a nice contrast to the heaviness of the meat. The pork ragout pasta was ok, but I felt like it was overpowered by the strong cheese and I would have liked for it to highlight more of the pork portion. I would skip the profiteroles- the three pieces that were served were truly bite sized and the pasty was not the puffy, light version that I was anticipating. It seemed like every other table that day brought their children or grandchildren so I do think that this place is very child friendly. They immediately offer kids crayons and a coloring sheets, and have plenty of high chairs and booster seats available. However, when we ordered off of the kids menu- mac & cheese, mini burger and fries, we never got the latter two and the kids menu is supposed to come with a drink too, which our server never asked us or offered. When I asked about the drink that came with kids meal, she was like, sure I'll bring it. The mac & cheese was a substantially portioned so I ended up not asking about the fries or burger. In terms of ambience, I do love the spacious, industrial design. There's no worries of being claustrophobic here since all the tables are spaced out quite far apart from each other.

Yelp
I am a very big fan of there Ragu. It is so of the best I have ever had. I was here about a year ago and they had enlarged the dining room. Food was great but it was so loud with low service. I am happy to say it is much nicer now and I really did enjoy our night out there. Thinking back I probably would put it down to the newness and lack of hired staff The last time was after Covid.

Yelp
Popped in on a whim while visiting Sheboygan. We'd already had dinner and wanted drinks and dessert at a time many places in town we're already closed. This turned out to be the perfect spot! Our server was very nice, efficient, and checked in just the right amount. We shared chocolate bread pudding (delicious!) and for drinks got an old fashioned and a seasonal apple cider based one (can't recall the name). The OF was just okay, but the seasonal one was fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a great time here. The inside is very spacious and comfortable with a decent sized bar area. I really enjoyed all the food that was got and would happily order it all again. It had the typical American menu with some fancy elevated stuff like the deviled eggs. They also had amazing specials. Our server was very helpful in recommending what to get and I never had an empty pop.

Yelp
We needed a space the could be private for around 20 people after a large funeral, and they were able to provide one. It was just what we needed! The service was great and very attentive, the food was excellent, it had had a warm atmosphere, and we could close our self off if we wished for some privacy. Thank you Black Pig

Yelp
Great place for upscale dining without the stiff and stuffy atmosphere. We came here for a birthday dinner because we wanted good food but also had a toddler and didn't want to ruin fine dining for others. The appetizers are solid- had the deviled eggs and crab wontons. Drinks are fabulous-- they have a full bar and don't skimp on the alcohol. Read: worth the price and warms the soul. Dinner portions were generous. We had the pork ragout, lamb kebabs, and scallops. It ended up being $50 a person but that was a three course meal. We shared two desserts: flourless chocolate cake and grilled lemon pound cake. I'd skip the pound cake. It was weird and the topping tasted like plain Greek yogurt. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere has a chill edgy vibe. There is plenty of upstairs and downstairs seating as well as a bar area. Would be great to host a party here. Parking is metered just outside and is easy to find.

Yelp
Service was very slow, even though the restaurant was less than half full. Food was ok and I'd say over-priced. The bacon appetizer was good, but relatively small for the price. The empanada's were just ok at best. No particular flavor. The mac with shrimp and sausage was quite bland unfortunately too. Steak sandwich was ok, but quite small. The best we had was the burger which was cooked nicely and good flavor. Fries were also fresh and very good. I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Love the ambiance at the Black Pig, cool place! Four of us sat at the bar & had drinks & lunch. Everything was great, burgers, charcuterie board, etc...The bartender was excellent. Great personality & very attentive. Would highly recommend!! We will be back

Yelp
Great food, nice setting, excellent staff. Extensive whiskey list. Could afford to have a few more IPA's available. Neat bullring.

Yelp
Locally owned. Food is amazing and so is the service. Great place to have parties. Workers are so kind

Yelp
Beautiful interior. Excellent service. Gracious staff that are very good at communicating with patrons.

Yelp
Great service. Waiter was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant interior and design is well done. I had the Chicken Shawarma taco. The rest of our party had the pulled pork sandwiches. We shared the Belly Belly Nice appetizer. The Shawarma taco was very good. The pulled pork was bland. The appetizer was very good.

Yelp
The Black Pig is one of my favorite spots in Sheboygan! Without fail, I always opt for the truffle mac or the truffle fries. It is consistently rich and cooked to perfection. The service is always great and they have plenty of options on the menu. I love having a nice meal in, but often order the mac and cheese to go as well. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious the service was excellent and our party was pleased with both the food and service a good time was enjoyed by all

Yelp
Love this place try to make excuses to get back and with 3 sheep's brewing nearby it's an A+

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious and our waiter was great! Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Nice place witH very convenient location down town Sheboygan. We had reservations for 5:30 PM for a party of six. We were greeted quickly and properly and seated right away. The waiter greeted us quickly and explained the menu and was very polite and well gestured. We had appetizers which consisted of different flavors of fries and the bacon tray. Very tasty. Dinners for us consisted of the steak sandwich, mac & cheese along with burgers. All of the food was excellent. The only real gripe we had was the fact that as the restaurant began to fill, the service began to fall. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and his once friendly demeanor turned into apology after apology for the mistakes he continued to make. I think we'd give the place another chance and hopefully the owners of the restaurant Read this review to know that when the place gets busy you really do need to help your waitstaff, they need it. Probably the only reason why I gave it a four-star was because the service was not five star. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Lauren W.

Yelp
The food was very good and had a variety of selections. The wine selection is very extensive and the bourbon selection includes very hard to find bottles . We ate at the bar and had a great time.
google avatar

Richard Y.

Yelp
On a buddy golf trip and stopped in for dinner after 36 holes. We were not disappointed! Service at the bar was casual and friendly. The vibe is as hipster as Sheboygan can get I suppose with weathered wood and an overall converted factory look. The menu is large and we opted for customized burgers, which were burgerlicious. I got mine with egg, grilled onions, cheese , L&T, with a side of greens. The barmaid was friendly and helped us pick out a craft tequila for birthday shots. The Black Pig is not a place to turn up your about at-- stop in and you'll be rolling in it!

Rita G.

Yelp
I am ultra picky. We ordered salads and the Mediterranean plate. The salad was outstanding. However when someone's is sharing a salad I should not have to ask for an extra plate. The appetizer plate was not great. The pita was undercooked. It looked more like a tortilla than pita. The hummus was good and the falafel was delicious. The tzatziki was over seasoned. Way too much garlic and the cucumber was huge in it. The orzo was under seasoned as well as the tahini. The spanakopita was outstanding. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food was very good. I could eat that salad every day. I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Jon H.

Yelp
My sister loves the Black Pig but feels like everytime she goes, their gluten-free options change. The fries are only gluten-free when fried in pig fat. One server told her they did not have gluten-free noodles, so she got zucchini noodles, and then the next time she went, they confirmed that they always had gluten-free mac and cheese. She does love them but she wishes there was more predictability in their gluten-free menu. The meals are always great though!
google avatar

Eli O.

Yelp
We've been to the black pig a total of 2 times. Our first time was absolutely amazing! Which incentives us to come back. The food is always amazing (despite them using truffle oil in a lot of things- I'm allergic) our second time... may 24th. Not so great... we were greeted at the front door and from that point on was just down hill. Our server was very attentive to a table on the opposite side of the room from us but seemed to have other staff member come and check up on us. So we were not even sure who was supposed to be our server. After we were done eating we sat there for an extended period of time until I was fed up and just asked for the check (which took a while to get.) we paid and just simply left disappointed but our overall experience. We were very hesitant to tip but we know servers do not make a lot with their hourly wage and would have felt bad for leaving nothing despite our overall experience. I think we would consider coming back eventually but not anytime soon.

Yelp
This restaurant equals the best I've had in any state I've been in! I had The pork chop and oh my goodness! It was huge and it was delicious, every bite what is an experience in excellent cuisine. The atmosphere was wonderful. Our waiter, Noel, went above and beyond to make is comfortable and knew the menu as if she had written it. The hostess, Stacia, treated us like family and went out of her way to make is comfortable. I almost thought we were on camera. If I were here any longer I would go to the Black Pig weekly. Thank you Black Pig, for making a cold cold trip, warm and appealing.
google avatar

Yelp
We sat at the bar for dinner and from start to finish our bartender was amazing! The drinks were delicious and the food was great. Pretty busy for a Wednesday and they were short staffed, but you would never know it. Well definitely try again when in the area.

Yelp
Great ambiance, lots of people but not crowded, perfect for connecting with friends. I highly recommend!!!

Matt B.

Yelp
Great Ragu and wine selection. Atmosphere is fun and staff is warm, kind, and very knowledgeable about the menu.
google avatar

Beth D.

Yelp
The service was fast, but our server did not have a lot of suggestions or information about the menu. We felt rushed to leave even though we had an early-ish reservation and there were open tables. I had the pulled pork mac, half portion-definitely big enough as an entree. The Mac and cheese was not flavorful and just felt like a kid's Mac and cheese with pork on top. My husband had the pork ragout. The pasta was al dente and tasty, but didn't have anything really special about it. In my opinion, the people who wrote the menu did a really great job of making the food sound really delicious, but there wasn't really anything special about it. I don't think it is worth the money.

Debbie C.

Yelp
The place was awesome and some of the best, fresh food I've had in a long time. Highly recommend it. Everything was delicious and a real treat.
google avatar

R K.

Yelp
The atmosphere of this place is very much like an English pub. Very cozy and we came in on a cold and windy afternoon and the staff was kind enough to put it in front of the fireplace. They seem to have an extensive beer menu. The food selection was unusual and tasty. I had the hamburger and it was excellent! I highly recommend the duck fat fries. They sound odd but they are not fatty they are delicious. We particularly enjoyed the special dessert which was maple bacon bread pudding Yum! We were there at 2 o'clock in the afternoon after LTC graduation. So there was hardly anyone in there. However, they seem to get quite busy at regular meal times. Might be a good idea to call for a reservation.

Celia Y.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for really good food and drinks. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Of course, Micheal makes me laugh and is just great overall.
google avatar

Yelp
Interesting menu items. You will find a great unique item (or many) that you'll love! Service was phenomenal. We'll be back!

Yelp
Food: 2.5 stars (Porchetta is 2 stars, other food is better, but nothing special) Service: 3 stars Price: Too high for what it is This review is really about the Porchetta, because its a surprisingly rare dish (given the simplicity), that I usually order it when I see it. I really didn't feel like spending $30 on dinner, but I could quiz the waitress on this porchetta's fitness and that would maybe make me feel better about it.... I asked the waitress if the porchetta had a crispy crackling ring on the outside, and it was pretty clear she had no idea what I was talking about, so against my better judgement I got it anyway. To make the story short, it was extremely disappointing - rubbery outer fat ring / skin from not being cooked at a high enough temp / hot enough oil to crisp up the other ring and puff it out, and somehow overcooked and dry on the inside / belly section. I wouldn't be happy with that dish for $8, let alone the $28 or so it cost. That being said, the mac and cheese and fries are decent there, but who cares, you can get that literally anywhere.
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
Went here with a group of 13 people and not one of us walked away satisfied. The dishes were a mix of bland and overcooked. One of us had an eggplant dish that smelled and tasted like one of the ingredients, probably the feta, had spoiled. There was no effort to correct it and she was still charged for it even though it was basically inedible. The cocktails were good but, like the rest of the menu, overpriced. The atmosphere was decent. I don't see myself ever going back.

John K.

Yelp
So, the food was good, but not worth it for price. I ordered the beef tenderloin special and asked for it medium rare and it came back well done (to the point where it was cooked like pot roast). The flavors were on point but for $45 bucks just a big disappointment. I'm not one to send food back because I've worked in food service and typically I can get away without causing a fuss. Black Pig tries to have an "upscale" menu type feel, but to overcook a $45 steak to the point I received it was no bueno. I'd give them another shot if I'm in the area, but likely will try to stay basic.
google avatar

Stacie D.

Yelp
This place was PHENOMENAL. Best meal we had while visiting Sheboygan/Kohler for the weekend. We ordered the pork schnitzel and the NY strip. The schnitzel was light and crispy and the steak was... just wow. Old fashioned was balanced and delicious. We finished off with the flourless chocolate cake which was pure decadence. Loved every bite and sip! We will be back!!
google avatar

Mary F.

Yelp
My few experiences are the Black Pig have been underwhelming and overpriced. For example, today we got the eggroll app which was 2 pieces of eggroll (like 2/3 the size of a normal one) for $8.95. It was good but very small. Then we had the 2 different macs. The bbq pork was over salted but the Mac was bland. I like the vibe of the restaurant but would not return for a meal.

Aeto P.

Yelp
With open tables outside & indoors, we were immediately turned away "you need reservations, next one is at 7:30pm" While we stood there, the same lady repeated herself & now saying "next reservations is at 7:45pm" As first time customers that were visiting Sheboygan excited to explore the city. Don't go here, as they won't take you!
