Black Plague Brewing

1st timer here and its a great atmoshphere, good food so good I had to have two of the outlaw burgers. People brought their children others brought their dogs. Definitely coming back. Bar, table and Lounge seating seating available. There was a group that had a surprise birthday here. Would love to celebrate my birthday here.

Black Plague Brewing is great! There’s lots of seats/ tables, fun themed decor, and reasonable prices- and great vibes! My first visit was for trivia night and it was an awesome experience. Their IPAs specifically are tasty and there are lots of options! Good burgers too. I highly recommend this place.

Black Plague beat all expectations by leaps and bounds. This place is the definition of cool and the beer is spectacular!! So much so….I bought a t shirt commemorating the Troublemaker IPA. The space is gigantic, the vibes are a mix of brewery meets cool basement meets Medieval Plague hospital complete with a guillotine. The Troublemaker (West Coast IPA) and Gothica are two strong recommendations with the emphasis on Gothica. Worth the long venture from Oceanside, loved my evening at Black Plague!

I was in the area for work from Seattle and stopped here for a few beers after a long day. I've been to a lot of great breweries in and around Seattle and Portland and I'm rarely as impressed by the beer as I was here. A compelling mix of different styles and everything had a lot of flavor while being very easy to drink.

Really nice place. Big open space. Not overly focused on having TV's on every inch of the wall. No pop music played here over the sound system. Dog friendly. Beer selection is great. Amazing burger place attached to the brewery. Amazing! They had a deal when I went. Spent $75 on beer and a t-shirt and they gave me a case of beer for free. Yeah, 24 beers for free. Few too many hipsters for my like but, to each their own. 🤣

Place is good. Been there ones, had burgers and beer. They offer free samples. Burgers delicious. Beer is art. Awesome interior. Check my pictures. Restrooms clean.

Great variety of beers and quality burgers grilled outdoors. Held in a warehouse, where you're enjoying the scene and hanging out among the vats and kegs. Excellent venue for our music too. Saw the Wish and the Well play on a Friday evening. Dog friendly.

Have always loved Black Plague beers, but finally made it to the Brewery. Love it! Such a cool metal vibe! Will visit more often now.

Update: Black Plague Brewing has closed its doors permanently as of September 28th. This was such an amazing brewery, and we are so very sad to see it go...especially so abruptly. Thank you for the amazing beer, great atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. You will be missed.

Came here to see a friends band perform on a Saturday night. If you love the spooky Halloween vibe anytime of the year, this is definitely your place to be. They have high tops and lots of long dining-style tables so you can bring a group of any size. I tried the Medusa milk stout which was SUPER good, which is saying something considering I'm not a beer drinker. It was sweet, bold and everything I look for in a stout. They also make a really tasty hazy IPA. The bartenders and staff were super chill, and overall, this is a great brewery! Definitely worth a visit next time you're in the area. If you're looking for food, they have a food truck that they operate just in front of the entrance. I couldn't find the menu online so I took a picture while I was there and I'm posting it here for anyone who wants to see it.

Just found BLACK PLAGUE last weekend, we went there to see the rock band @patchofgravity live! They were awesome \m/ BLACK PLAGUE BREWERY Oceanside is helluv fun, possibly decorated by same interior designer as mine. There are plague corpses hanging from the ceiling, and it's not Halloween. Nice collection of gothic and medieval furniture and prints, plague doctor art and Latin.... The theme is well applied throughout every aspect of the biz. Right down to the heavy metal playing as background music - not too loud, every song a classic. I *loved* the ambience. Also very friendly and welcoming. SCOTTY took great care of us and was super cool to chat with! Everyone there was chill and/or fun. Btw it's a family vibe too - kiddos around while we were there, enjoying the goth deco and band, eating dinner outside and in with families, no troubles. FOOD - awesome heavy metal kitchen with outstanding delicious burgers! We ordered more! BEER - Really impressive beer collection, unique brews, and everything has a great name! Favorites included MEDUSA (stout) and IN MY DARKEST SOUR, yes it's sour beer! First for me, andI loved it! Even if you dont care about goth decor or rock music, but you do care about beer, then you should come here to drink! You can buy their brews to go if you cant handle the ceiling corpses. MUSIC! Great setup for live bands! Loved seeing PATCH OF GRAVITY @patchofgravity play live at Black Plague! And I can't wait to see some metal bands shredding in there! Call the METALEFFERS @metaleffers !

It was a very fun Beware the 13th event. The market was cool. I bought a couple of things there, like stickers and accessories. They were also giving out raffle tickets if you purchased items. I won a bag of goodies that I wanted to buy. I got 2 delicious parfait like cakes. One butter beer and the other carrot cake. The carrot cake is my favorite out of the 2, not as sweet, just right. I got a box with scent spray, lotion, and oils. Lastly a pair of earrings and 13 stickers. There was a band playing. The inside has a cool dark aesthetic and the service was fast. I liked my seltzer and I enjoyed myself. I'll probably come back for the other events.

My husband and I are on a mission to try every brewery in San Diego county. We've been to tons so far but black plague continues to be our favorite place. The Medusa stout is to die for! We've gone twice in a row for husbands bday and they always give him a free beer of his choosing. Love the decor, the atmosphere, staff & beer! Theres a little food truck outside, no kitchen made food onsite.

The food is amazing! Highly recommend if you're looking for a chill spot to eat watch a movie maybe, bring your kids. People bring their dogs here. It's a nice spot, and the bartenders are great too! :)

Took my dad here for Father's Day...Perfect atmosphere, great service...And good beer!!! We coming back

Always a good time ! Ambience is fun and unique , plenty of place and great beer I even bought the Tropical hazy shirt

"Don't come back he said"... I replied I wouldn't. Who considers this to be nachos? Burnt cheese over chips? I gave a tip and asked for my sandwiches to be cut in half, nope, didn't happen. Here's $100 worth of garbage. 11/30 @ 2p

What a nice location! I've been to the Escondido one and headed here for a vender event that was a lot of fun. This location is much more open and spacious than Escondido which was nice. We didn't eat but the food menu seemed reduced here. My only complaint was parking was full for the event but I think during normal business it'd probably be fine. (There are signs everywhere that you must park on the street and NOT in the other business parking lots. There's a lot of street space available).

Black Plague is, in a word, AWESOME! The staff is great and the beers are really good. Nyjah is my favorite along with the Medusa milk stout. The former has everything you want in an IPA and the latter is one of the better milk stouts I've had in a while. Add the decor and you have a winner. I came away with koozies and a Nyjah deck to hang on my wall.

Service was great, staff was friendly, food was fantastic! I loved that the beer selection wasn't super heavy on the IPA selection like a lot of places recently. The decor & ambiance were top notch Looking forward to going back

This brewery makes fantastic beer. I have enjoyed everyone I have tasted! The burgers are also pretty fabulous. The bartenders are always friendly and helpful. Excellent service and fun atmosphere!

Made the 17 mile drive to visit Black Plague because I wanted to try one of the burgers out front. The burger was very good. 8/10. The beer was also excellent. I had a hazy IPA that was very good. My dog loved the place.

Just moved to the area, we love coming here! Very dog friendly which is a plus, and the employees are the friendliest! The entertainment is great and we can't wait to come back!

Drinks are on spot, decorated the place to match the name "BLACK PLAGUE" they made everything into a Halloween look . Service is amazing! Our meal came from "FULL METAL BURGERS". Their performance on the food made my mouth drool! Definitely recommend this place for a fun time and hanging out with your friends!

Daywalker! Come in and ask for daywalker! That beer is light yet heavy! Tasteful but not overbearing! The embodiment of balance! . If you love metal and an assortment of unique beers this is the place. Food is simple but tasty and the service is second to none.

Amazing beer. The hazy is so good! Atmosphere is great. My boyfriend got the red ale. He really enjoyed it. 10/10 recommend. Service was great. She was helpful and friendly!

Well it's been about a year now since my last review about Black Plague and there undersize pint glasses. Me and my friend decided to go back to Black Plague and check out there beers again and to our surprise they changed the glasses again! They are now using real 16 oz pint glasses!! Way to go Plague glad you got on board with serving the real deal.

Excellent selection of beer and great service. We really liked the chill vibe and friendly staff. Shout out to Ariana for the awesome service!! We can't wait to come back!

We were looking for good beer and food for lunch over the Labor Day weekend and were not disappointed. We tried the Gothica and Gothica Negra, Open Mind and After Party. All are excellent. Had a couple different wraps with the Rebel Tenders - delicious. We will be back for sure

Best place ever I'm here at least once a week on my cheat day the staff is amazing never have to wait for service!!!!!! The Burgers are by far my favorite for comfort food and the sauces are BOMB InyaHemp !!

Great brewery and pub with excellent beer, many choices on draft! The food is also excellent, and service is efficient and fast. No long waits to eat. Servers are great and very friendly. The decor is cool and as you can imagine with the name sort of Gothic and a bit morbid, but after all, it's called the Black Plague. The place was lively and clean. Great place to stop in and have a pint or two and a good snack or meal!

Stopped in this afternoon for some beer to-go. Yet again, excellent service by, yet again, an awesome human! There are currently three iterations of In My Darkest Sour, and I was offered and provided samples of the two on tap--so I could decide which to take home. Literally the best part of this amazing tap room is having such an option/experience. More than anything, I love the chill vibe here. (Aka it's a locals kinda spot, but tourists would do okay.) Thanks Black Plague!

Cool spot tucked away in a business center. Heavy metal themes, including live metal music almost every weekend. Have yet to have a beer I didn't enjoy.

We stopped in to Black Plague's Brewery to grab some food from Full Metal Burgers and a beer or two. I reviewed the food on their page (Hint: 5 Stars). Black Plague is a large open space, larger than most breweries, and a lot of tables both inside and out. They have a few video games, a pinball machine, a merch shop and everything is very on theme with them. I started with their 1347 West Coast IPA w/Blood Orange and it was fantastic. I followed it up with their collaboration with Resident Brewing, The End is Near Pale Ale, and it was very good too. The service was great, the vibe was perfect, they were showing the NBA playoffs live on their TVs and we even bought a couple of shirts. Everyone had a great time and agreed that we will definitely make this part of our normal rotation.

Beer is great! Creepy looking pale employee with the mustache sucks. Dude recommended my friends some canned beers to drinks bc it was a better deal then told them they couldn't drink it here in the building and kicked them out. Tricked them into spending money. What a dickhead

Really dope and big brewery. Fun dark theme with skeletons hanging from the ceiling. Sell dope merchandise as well.

Great brewery to chill and catch some live music. Just FYI with parking. Park on the street and not in the neighboring business lots as they make it very clear you will be towed! Many great beer options to choose from depending on your flavor palette. I highly recommend Gothica, Tony Hawps, and 3 day vacation. They do have food here through a vendor named Full Metal Burgers. Food was just Meh. Didn't really impress me. I ordered some chips and salsa with a vegan patty, pesto and avocado burger. Chips and salsa tasted store bought. The vegan patty had no taste, they could of hit it with some salt and pepper. Music on this particular night was extremely loud that I could not hear my friend trying to converse. Even the bartender took out his device to measure the decibels and was trying to get the band's attention to turn it down. Overall place is chill, clean and bartenders are excellent with service. Creepy decor horror vibes which is right up my alley. Will definitely come back.

This is a review of a visit on a Sunday in Spring 2021. Beer was good! Service was good! Burger was good! I kept the pint - it was a special keep the pint day. I heard All-Star by Smash Mouth play at least 4 times during my visit. HEY NOW!
