Loved my first experience here at Block Rock! Michelle was our server and was so warm kind and professional! She made our experience so memorable and fun. Michelle is an excellent server we will be back again with our other friends. Thank you Michelle you are amazing and the steaks were out of this world!🥰

Our first experience at a Black Rock Bar & Grill and we were completely satisfied! It was cool to cook our own steaks! The meat, potatoes, and Mac n cheese were all wonderful. I can't wait to go back!

It’s our family’s first time here in the Hartland branch, but my husband and I had our dinner date last fall in Davison… The service in Hartland is amazing! It is my daughter’s birthday today. Our food server’s name is Krytal (not sure about her name, sorry ☺️), but anyway, she offered my daughter a dessert. I believe it was a volcano cake! It was a nice gesture of hers. Thank you, Black Rock Hartland, for the wonderful dinner. Everything was delicious and amazing! We will come again for sure!

Our food was delicious! Loved the Strawberry and Apple Fields salad! They have the best Spinach and Artichoke dip too. Our waitress was literally the best! Highly recommend

Pretzel and Cheese Fondue!!! ⭐️ First time here and so glad we found this restaurant! Michelle was super friendly and had a ton of of recommendations which were exceptional! Food was delicious and service was outstanding. Music was great too. They played alot of modern music (ie: No Doubt, Jason Derulo). Would come back again for the lamb chops and the long island! 😉🍹

Food was great! Steak was tender, but not the best I’ve tried. The french onion soup has a lot of cheese which is nice but a little too salty. Lost a star because it was really hard to breathe inside, there is way too much smoke. I think they should install an exhuast at each table.

This was our first visit to Black Rock and wow, we were so impressed. We received a gift card and figured we'd use it to celebrate my husband's first week back for his masters. The food was delicious but I will say, what made it even better, was our server Michelle. Right from the start, she was warm and friendly, offering her menu suggestions. Our drinks were always full, she was attentive and so nice! Her daughter Madison seemed very kind as well even though we didn't get the pleasure of meeting her directly. We tried the pretzels and cheese - ridiculous. So good. Had the steak and Lobster tail - amazing. And that butter cake.... show stopper. We will absolutely be coming back and have already spread the word to our family. Thank you Black Rock for a wonderful evening out!

The best steak house ever!the food here is always great and amazing quality. The atmosphere is fun and really laid back.I love the service here especially Michele and Maddy, they’re very attentive to my needs and recommend the best appetizers, entrees and desserts! Come here if you want good food and a good time!

Good food with good prices. Very different experience in each room. We had the wine room which was nice and we enjoyed it but all of the wine bottles on the wall were empty.

Servers are very friendly and attentive. Food and vibe is really good for the Black Rock chain. Why did they stop having 1000 Island and Italian dressing - weird. Will visit again.

Service and Ambiance was good. Steaks are great. Lobster Bisque was watery, bland and had no lobster in it. I didn't even eat it.

I was so hungry for a good meal after a busy week and baloney sandwiches. I ordered the side salad with ranch, the sirloin and mashed potatoes. WOW!!! Such a fresh salad with excellent ranch dressing. The mashed potatoes melted in my mouth. The steak was perfectly seasoned and 100% medium rare. I called to tell the manager, who ever was cooking was amazing.

asked for "Diet Coke", but got Diet Pepsi. server said she didn't think there was a difference. ordered Cheeseburger with lettuce, onion, mayo. came without mayo or cheese. Our server seemed to have an attitude.

Before I started to write this I did a big sigh because I knew exactly what I was getting into but this is recommended by a friend that was coming into town. Honestly I would have thought this place was like more of a romantic setting but it's kind of like a normal bar casual type setting - back when this was super popular they made it seem it was like to be so romantic nice to take out on a date. Naw at least not to me I don't think so. The service was good - The food was okay and the drinks were very overpriced. Would I be back probably not because it's just not my thing if I'm going out I want someone else to cook my food. Happy Eating!

Worst thing about the place is the smoke from everyone cooking their own food but the food is delicious and service is usually pretty decent. Get the pretzels and the Eggrolls. My fave salad is the strawberry fields. Hands down, best salad ever. You have to get steak when you go here and add lobster or shrimp!!!

If you want a nice time with your Mothers for Mothers Day run ‍ far away from Black Rock in Canton! The lack of organization for this buffet is horrific! You wait for hours! Everyone is touching and digging over slopped over sub par food , 5-6 food stations were out! My waitress was nice but the manager Jordan did ABSOLUTELY nothing to help the situation! You can't order until 3pm and you have a 90 min table limit. Horrible customer service, not even invited to order after 3 nor have more soup or bread while you wait! -5 stars, the health and fire dept should shut this place down! Very unsatisfied with this place and its lack of care! Save your money and go somewhere else to eat !

Great food and a fun experience! You COOK YOUR OWN STEAK at your table on a crazy hot stone at 755F. It's not just a gimmick. You slice a 1/4 strip of raw steak and set on grill for about 15sec per side. The result is a HOT piece of freshly seared meat that remains med-rare in middle. Normally the rare steak is not so warm when consuming. It really is a different way to experience steak, and an scrumptious way! I want to try this at home with a cast iron pan. If cast iron doesn't work, you can buy lava stones to recreate the experience. SIGNATURE ROCK SAUCE If the fresh seared steak wasn't good enough, they give you this special sauce which is exploding with flavor when the steak bite is dipped in. I usually am not a fan of dousing steak in sauce, but I am a serious fan of this stuff!!! SIDES The truffle fries were a delicious side. The truffle flavor makes them a perfect pairing with the steak.

Our family had a terrible experience with this restaurant. Confusing and ridiculous "priority seating" system caused us to miss Mother's Day brunch with our family. Our family was led to believe that for at least Mother's Day, we had a confirmed reservation. When we arrived, it was an absolute disorganized mob scene, dumpster fire in the front of the restaurant. People were sitting on the curb, standing in the middle of the driveway in the front of the restaurant. We were then advised it would be nearly an hour from our "priority seating time". In our party is an 80-year-old person with cognitive issues, plus children five and one who could not wait. I did attempt to go inside and speak with a manager and while I was doing that took a look at this glorious buffet that they plan to charge even my five-year-old to eat, and it looked like The buffet you'd put on for a Super Bowl party at a dive bar. I will never ever eat at the Black rock again, and I can only say that if you were planning any sort of special event for your family to go elsewhere. This restaurant needs to come to some kind of clearer distinction about what they are "walk-in only or a restaurant that accepts reservations. Operating in this confusing in between does no one any favors. Heartbroken and now going home to scrape together something for our family today. The women will end up cooking

This was one of the worst experiences my family and i have had at a restaurant. Black Rock is looked at as a higher end Restaurant, and the prices reflect that sentiment. we got there before the dinner rush, waited to be seated (approx. 15 mim) was seated in patio witch was mostly empty. as it filled up with other patrons which were being served before us finishing and leaving... we had to flag down waitress for everything. When our food arrived it was cold mine was a prime rib sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. the sandwich had sat so long that the cheese had hardened like a crust, was supposed to have a horseradish sauce yet nothing. they had spilled au jus on the plate so the bottem bread was soaked.. and everybody knows what liquid does to bread.. it was horrible! i could go on. just to say none of the 6 of us will never be back nor will we recommend this establishment.

pieces of shit!!! What is the point of a reservation if you're going to make people wait almost 2 hours after the time they had reserved!!! I don't give a fuck about call aheads. I guess they should have thought about calling sooner. thanks for running it for those of use who actually called days prior to make a reservation. Awful way to run a business! if I wanted to eat at 8 i would have made a reservation for 8 instead of 6:30.

Waitress was great. Ordered the tenderloin and sirloin, received 2 pieces of sirloin. Sorry did not take a picture. Just watch out when they say sirloin and tenderloin. No tenderloin included

We arrived at 11:30 am on a Saturday to celebrate an early Mother's Day for my wife and daughter. The restaurant had maybe 4 other people in it when we arrived. We ordered and received our appetizer along with 2 salads. At 12:45 and no return by our waitress (Jessica) I found her and asked what the h... is going on? She told me she was sorry, but she was very busy with other customers which I found ironic since there were hardly any customers in the place. When I told her we were not going to wait any longer for our food (my 1-1/2 year old granddaughter was with us) she presented me with a bill for the appetizer, two salad up-charges and two nonalcoholic drinks. No offer to take care of the bill or have the manager offer us an apology, no just a bill and see you later. Don't understand how a restaurant can stay open and have customer service like that. Will not be coming back to ANY Black Rock restaurant and will definitely not recommend anyone else to patronize them. I will be telling my story to all who will listen.

Canton- Great service from waitress Christine, also food was awesome. She was very attentive, kept checking on us and great personality and great communication skills.

Invited by my brother and sister-in-law. Brussel Sprouts Appetizer- Delicious! Brother had the steak- he cooked and ate as he went along- appeared to have enjoyed- nothing was left. Sister-in-law had the coconut shrimp. Did not bring side sauce for them- We did not see our server. I had the Cajun chicken which was delicious- nice spice. Great meal-

Came across this place on a total accident. After spending 24 hours in a car got turned around bc of something on the expressway. Came in to have one of the greatest dinners I've had in a long time. We had never heard if this place. Our sever Taylor was absolutely amazing and super helpful giving us great recommendations land explained how everything works. We settled in a Smorgasburg of things just to try a bunch. Soup flight of French onion, lobster bisque (with a while pile of lobster) and clam chowder Caesar salad with a Parmesan chip Lobster dip Pretzels and cheese (they looked sad but we're actually SUPER GOOD) And the Tuesday special of ribs and shrimp It's been a long time since we have had a dinner this good. We will 10000% be be back!!

First time ever visiting from Virginia. I really enjoyed the Black Rock in Hartland MI!! Excellent customer service! Excellent food and drink!! Came with large group of family. Hostesses were friendly and polite! Our waiter Andy was the BEST!!! Our group wasn't quite all together but Andy handled us effortlessly!! And the food was so good!! The group had ribs, crab cakes, steak, salmon and a chicken salad. All were delicious! I see there is a Black Rock in Maryland. Guess I'll have to make the trip!! This restaurant & location is highly recommended if you are ever in the area!

Service: Good; fast and courteous. No issue here. Food: Meh. Nothing to write home about and not good enough to justify the price. Ambiance: It smelled like a greasy cast iron skillet that was left out for a day or two. I ended up smelling like it, too. I took a shower as soon as I got home.

Online ordering wasn't working so called to place order Cheyenne at black rock in Hartland answered and was absolutely amazing and helped me with everything I needed and more! Amazing service and food will always recommend!

Went on a Thursday night. Waited 40 minutes to be seated. Waitress immediately wanted out drink order. Felt rushed. Tables were small and appetizer plates never cleaned before dinner plates arrived. For the price they charge..did not seem like a relaxing meal especially since we were a party of 7.

(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Price & Overall Experience). Atmosphere: 2 They do not take reservation only call in's which still doesn't nothing to speed up getting you seated. Don't sit by the windows if you get chilly, it was uncomfortable chilly the whole time we had to put our coats back on. Service: 2 the service was slow and distracted, the orders came out wrong they did not check on us once the food came which was wrong and then took 20 minutes to correct it. Food: 3 the food was good but very expensive and for that price it should hav been amazing Price: 2 don't expect to walk out of there with less than a 80 bill for two people with little or no left overs. Overall Experience: 2 For the way this place is boast at being so great I failed to see it and will not be going back.

Excellent place for a unique experience! You can dine and grill your own steak on top of a hot lava stone set at 775°F!!!! Yup! And wow was it delicious, it comes with two sides and two sauces that are to lick fingers for! Family oriented, just wished the seats were comfortable. We met our extended family here and it was so much fun, we were here for 2hrs and 1/2 and it was not the most comfortable seats for sure. But the food and attentive service makes up for it. I'd rather have uncomfortable seats but gave an amazing experience. Will definitely come back!

Great to have a place like this in hartland. They do a good job trying to make your wait as quick as possible. Sometimes the sides are cold though.

Our favorite go to place for the only way to do steak. Enjoy the experience of each bite coming off of the rock piping hot and cooked the way I like it. Out of town family always request this is the place for steak. Tried the Tuesday special of ribs and shrimp, didn't disappoint. Michelle was our waitress and did a fine job of making us aware of specials of the day and providing us we great service.

About what you could expect from a chain. Service was great, but food was underwhelming. We came on a Sunday night where they were still relatively busy - nice atmosphere, not dead but not stressed/pressured - seated within a few minutes at a booth in the side room. Mysterious sticky liquid on my partner's side of the booth and a used cloth napkin on the floor underneath the table didn't give the greatest first impression, but we were still game. Appetizer was spinach artichoke dip which was fantastic - delicious, creamy texture, pita chips/slices were soft with a hint of crunch, great portions. Unfortunately that's where things peaked. Granted, not having been there before we were unaware that only the sirloin comes on the sizzling black rock, so not getting that was a bit of a disappointment but probably our ignorance at fault. Our steaks were in fact cooked how we'd wanted; distinctly average, but also for an average price. They weren't dry, but not juicy either. The steak sauce and casino butter were meh, but we're purists so unlikely to like any sauces. My green beans were distinctly undercooked. The server also launched into an explanation about the granola topping (???) for the sweet potato mash and how it has to come as a unit - seemed like a combo of brown sugar and granola that was scooped on top and definitely could have been excluded or modified, but it wasn't bad. My partner's asparagus was okay and his mashed potatoes were at par. Their drinks, based on the smoked old fashioned I got, are STRONG - a plus! - and tasty. Would have loved to sample a few but I had to drive home. All in all, probably what I'd expect from a chain steak place on a non-prime night. Nothing totally off-putting, nothing stunningly memorable.

order the rock chicken sandwich and wife shrimp tacos. Both were severely over cooked. The fries were cold. This place has great ambiance Tony the bar tender was awesome he was festive working his butt off too bad the food is subpar.

I give it a 3.5. This place is pretty cool not my first visit to black rock but my first to this location. My cousin had never been there so we sat down to try it out. It's a great place to catch a game or have a drink or first date night. It's hands on you order and cook your own meat. We ordered the soup trio for appetizers and a salad. The chili was ok the French onion ehhh but the clam chowder is exceptional prob the star of the meal. This place gets smoky and you smell like a camp fire when you leave. The steak was good the shrimp are small the scallop is ok. The brownie is huge and can serve 4. I'd go back and sit outside to mitigate the smoke. The service was good.

What a great night... walked in at 6pm, got seated right away, had a server and had our drinks asap. Then got a delicious spinach dip appetizer and our filets right after our salads. Not a great phone presentation .. Said 10 min wait 4:35. Drove 8 min and told 45 min.... Stuffy and loud on arrival. Chose another location.

We drive an hour and a half to eat here. They have awesome food and great prices!! You can cook your own steak on a hot stone! You also get a free birthday treat which is called a volcano and it's yummy!! you can get a 6 ounce steak and two sides for $19.99. We have never had a bad experience only good ones!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

My bleu salad was amazing! I tried the steak....meh. The server Michelle was perfect. We were sat in the corner by the kitchen while there were open spots all over...??? Anyway, I'm only giving a 5 star for the service.

My buddy and I came up to Fenton to my buddies farmhouse he bought. Afterward, we looked on yelp to get some food. Found this place on yelp and it was close to the freeway. And it had a lot of good reviews. We ordered the lobster dip for an appetizer, and it was delicious. For my entree, I went with the black rock chicken. It was pretty good. Our server Samantha was on point. She took excellent care of us. I am going to have to come back and try the steak.

Calamari appetizer was greasy, soggy, and tasteless. I was served the wrong wine, and there was lipstick on the glass. The brownie sundae was huge but the brownie was cold, dry, and tasteless. We sent it back- and trust me, we don't give up dessert easily. On to the good stuff... The steak was very good! The stone cooled quickly, so the process of cooking our meal was a bit hectic, but the flavored butter and sauce they served it with was very good. Cook the steak in the butter and don't forget to add salt- the steak is literally a chunk of meat they start searing for you. I suggest getting a lean cut- the ribeye was hard to cut since it was basically raw at first. My husband had no problem with the filet. The Brussel sprouts were very good! Flash fried and dressed with a sweet balsamic sauce- I ate every last leaf. The fries were nothing special, but I dipped them in butter melted on the rock and it was awesome! The atmosphere was a bit heavy with grease, but the tables and floor weren't bad. We were in a side room and the air was quite nice. In the main room there was a noticeable difference though, so if you have sensitive lungs, be cautious. You will smell like steak, and probably get a little grease on you, so don't wear your finest clothes. The experience was interesting. Not sure if we will actually be back, but I'm willing to give it one more shot for the steak and those Brussels!
