Google
Black Rifle Coffee Bar delivers excellent quality across the board. The coffee is bold and flavorful, and the pastries are fresh and delicious—easily some of the best I’ve had at a coffee shop. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly and efficient. My only small gripe is that they serve everything in paper cups, even for dine-in orders. I prefer sipping from a ceramic mug when enjoying coffee in-house, so I hope they consider offering that option in the future. Still, the overall experience and quality easily earn 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Google
Coffee roasting, and a flavor was on point, but the cappuccino that I bought was rushed the foam wasn’t good and was scolding hot. I was hoping that Black rock coffee was a kind of boutique coffee place that would sell a one size cappuccino, but unfortunately not.

Josh

Google
Their cold brew and blended latte were delightful on a hot summer day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The space was bright and comfortable. This location is in a strip center with a large shared parking lot. For us it was a great place to stop after visiting Austin's Zoo to talk about our trip and look at our pictures.

Google
Great coffee! I just had basic black coffee and it was really outstanding! Bagel with cream cheese was solid, too. Very friendly staff and man do they stay busy. Really easy place to sit and meet over coffee as tables outside offer space.

Google
This place is special. I would give it a 4.5 if I could! The only downfall, and it is simply a fact, it is small. Otherwise I would have given it a 5. BUT, if you want good coffee, I mean good coffee, I mean Summer Moon level coffee, this is a place to get it. The coffee is simply very very good. It has a strong yet smooth flavor, with depth and gentleness. The foam of my Latte was Venice, Italy quality. Seriously, and that is holy ground in terms of coffee. Love the atmosphere, love the people that served us. Just wish it were bigger. BUT, if you want good coffee, I mean very good coffee, this is the place to get it.

Google
I would not recommend this place, especially if you're a person of color. My experience left me feeling overlooked and unwelcome. Despite standing at the counter for several minutes, no one acknowledged me or took my order, while several white customers who walked up after me were helped immediately. The contrast in treatment was stark and disheartening. In a time when inclusivity and equity should be the standard, it’s disappointing to see such clear bias, especially from a younger staff. There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior.

Google
Pretty good spot to chill, but the coffee needs work. You seldom get a full cup. The espresso bean choice is good. Chocolatey, nutty, earth notes, but they cannot steam milk. It's one of those places where they think you just stick the wand in the milk and walk away. See pictures. Ultimately, it's good bean and good roast, but poor coffee experience.

Yelp
This Black Rock location is conveniently located in South Austin off of Southwest parkway. Expect there to usually be a longer line in the drive-thru during peak coffee-consuming hours. But, the staff here are on top of it & typically get through the drive-thru lines fairly quickly, so be patient with & nice to the staff - they're mostly younger kids/adults, but super sweet & willing to help! I've been a drive-thru customer of this Black Rocks for two years now, as it's a few minutes away from home for me. They provide consistently quick & kind service. The food & drinks are consistently high quality as well. For their coffee, i've tried the Iced Mexican Mocha, the cold brew, and the Iced Caramel Blondie. I recommend them all, but my favorite is the iced caramel blondie. For food, i've only tried their Taco Deli sourced breakfast tacos, & they always satisfy & hit the bfast taco craving. Their prices are right in line with Starbucks', but i prefer to come here instead bc it's closer, and supporting not as much of or as bad of a big corporatey chain like 'bux Anddddd according to my personal pupcup connoisseur, Black Rock also makes the finest, most robust pupcup in allllll of the land! Not only much bigger in size, they also come with not one, but TWO dog treatos on top!!

Yelp
Black Rock is my partner's go to coffee shop on Friday mornings for a treat. We were in the area and decided to drop by when we saw the sign. Coffee shop is super appealing when you walk in. So beautifully designed. Very modern and clean. Service was good and all around had a good experience. I can see why he keeps coming back. We would pay more visits if we lived in the area. For now he'll be the one dropping by regularly.

Yelp
Love the Black Rock coffee shop. It's got everything! Great coffee, happy people, drive through, and at one point, my favorite cap ever. I couldn't be happier to have this shop in my neighborhood, and apparently I'm not alone, because the lines can be long and all the seats taken. No bother, there's outside seating for everyone and their dog.

Yelp
It's one thing to have bad coffee, it's another thing to charge so much for it. The cold brew tastes like absolutely nothing. The workers were lovely, but I will not be coming back. Starbucks even has higher quality coffee for a much lower price.
google avatar

Carolina B.

Yelp
We got some nitro brew with cream and they were lackluster. The cream was separated from the coffee and it was quite hard to get it to mix. Not flavorful. If anything, quite bitter. Starbucks, unfortunately, makes them way better. On a good note, they serve Tacodeli!

Yelp
This is a cute coffee bar located in South Austin which offers a variety of options. Let's not forget, this place is generous with their pup cups - a definite hit for my big boy. Also a favorite spot for those who want to sit outside and do a little remote work. Cozy and quiet (on some days) - a hidden gem worth exploring.

Yelp
This coffee bar is legit. Smiling and friendly baristas! If I still worked from home, I'd definitely make this place my go-to work spot - it was such a chill vibe that my friend immediately started scoping out areas with outlets so he could go work from there! Really adorable place with great drinks. I ordered the Mexican mocha latte and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
My first time at black rock coffee, I had an amazing staff member that was very kind and friendly and recommended me a drink that I loved. However, this specific location was quite rude. As the only black woman in the shop, I found it very rude that my order had been ready for 10 minutes and they did not call for it. I went to the counter to ask about the order but they continue to ignore and walk past me. They continued to call other orders until finally a customer spoke up for me and let me get in front of him in line to ask the cashier. Again, I was at the front waiting on the order but they placed it away from everyone else's and did not call for the name. I don't typically experience racism in Austin, but this felt like it.

Aurora M.

Yelp
Coffee is great, the drive through lady today was horrible. She could be a little more positive. Definitely won't be coming to this location due to her rudeness.

Yelp
Friendly service and a good place to crank put some computer work. Honestly didn't think it was anything to write bome about though.

Yelp
I come inside every morning. These people are VERY rude. I said "Goodmorning " , to not one but TWO CHATTING coworkers/employees. Neither one acknowledged me AND PROCEEDED to carry on the conversation. This isn't the first time either as Ive already had the same experience prior but tried to not make a deal about it. It is the last time I will be supporting this specific coffee shop location. If I were you id find a BETTER PLACE TO ENJOY YOUR MORNINGS!!!

Yelp
So this was my first time stopping at this coffee shop because I was visiting a friend who lives nearby, and she stops here frequently, so I decided to check it out. First impression, trendy look, clean on the inside, and greeted by friendly faces. I ordered a cold brew, along with a toasted bagel, and sat outside and enjoyed the 70 degree texas December temperature. Very relaxing vibe. The coffee is very good as well!
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
This is a cute and del ious little drop spot for coffee but especially for matcha! This place is such a cute little friendly vibe! If you have never been definitely worth a stop, I loved trying their matcha but I hope to visit soon and try some new drinks from their awesome menu! Customer service was great! Overall loved it, will come to visit again for sure and will keep you updated when I do!

Yelp
I've been looking for a new coffee place. Starbucks is lackluster best. I was excited to try this place. The drinks were good, bagels good, service was quick. Then I went back during the week. I ordered well ahead of time. My stuff wasn't ready, they'd call it out when it was. Sucks, but I'll wait. The girls who ordered after I did got their drinks before I did. Mine had been sitting on the counter long enough for the ice to melt on what was supposed to be a hot drink. One more try, it's not Starbucks. It has to be better. This time my husband went. Bagels were still good. We both got drinks that tasted like cough syrup. It was incredibly strange. We ended up throwing them out. It's too bad because their Mexican mocha was damn good but I can't justify returning to a coffee place that has gotten my drink wrong on two out of three occasions.

Regina B.

Yelp
Great ambiance. The staff was very patient and informative with my nieces who were really intrigued with the menu. I love that they have many signature drinks and traditional as well. The patio is nice and spacious. A win for nice weather days. Adding this to my list !

Yelp
Parking - easy and plenty Service - friendly and quick, orders correct Coffee - great strong coffee; I'd come back here again. Lots of options. Vibe - modern; both indoor and outdoor seating with a mix of high tops and lounge chairs The only thing is I wish they had more sustainable packaging/paper straws etc

Yelp
my beverage tasted of a stagnant pond seasoned with the body of a tadpole who has lost hope. look elsewhere for a caffeinated beverage. cheers!

Yelp
Went to pickup a door dash order & young white kid was rude no customer service at all doesn't smile looked annoyed I suggest he get a different job

Yelp
Excellent coffee and pastries. Very friendly service. Reasonable prices. Great place to relax with friends or work on your laptop.
google avatar

Cameron N.

Yelp
They're a bit overpriced and obviously more of a Dunkin/Starbucks type of place, but I do think it's worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. Great portions, amazing taste. Fantastic Ruben.

Yelp
Great coffee bar! We both got an Iced Mexican Mocha. It was great! I love the hints of cinnamon! We were immediately greeted when we walked in and they fulfilled our order super quick! They offer patio seating as well as seating inside. The inside has a cool vibe and would be a great spot to hang out or work remotely. All of the staff was friendly! We will be back!

Yelp
Best coffee hands down in Austin. Wish you guys had more locations around austin!!!! Incredible coffee, and the large is truly large- no skimp here!!!

Amith K.

Yelp
Food is good, Coffee, Service and Ambiance are amazing. Nice place to chill or work with nice table

Reagan L.

Yelp
Workers are super sweet but the coffee is very poor quality. And very overpriced to be so terrible. Please make better tasting coffee and espresso

TC R.

Yelp
Great customer service. They are quick and friendly. I haven't had a bad coffee drink yet.)
google avatar

Madelaine W.

Yelp
If you are on the west side of town and looking for coffee this spot will do the job. They have a drive through which is nice! I wish the people who worked here paid more attention to detail - they often hand the hot coffees out without a sleeve and never a plug for the top unless you ask for them and sometimes you only get the sleeve. But the location is nice and clean with patio seating and is dog friendly.
google avatar

Christian J.

Yelp
Talk about some strong coffee. You're definitely only going to need one cup to give you that morning lift. Perfect location on Southwest parkway so I often stop in there on my way downtown for work. It's also a great spot to meet clients with the large covered patio and quite a beautiful design of the building. The drive-thru also works well if you're in a hurry. All types of flavors and the staff and services top notch.
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Let's be real, Texas is fantastic. But lack luster in their coffee game ... thank you Oregon for sending your craft coffee to Austin. We appreciate you being here to fulfill our caffeine needs. Buttery hand crafted coffee is enjoyable sip after sip as you sit on their spacious outside patio with ample seating inside as well. In a rush? Having a bad hair day? Don't want to be seen in public? Rest easy knowing they have a drive through with the same quality as coming in and communicating with society.

Yelp
As you see in this photo i ended up scaling the facility Ordered an Irish Coffee and after two sips it had me questioning if it had actual rock in it‍ 10/10 recommend coming here ...Coffee scrong. On god

Belinda M.

Yelp
I waited over an hour for an Uber eats drink!!' I ended up canceling it. I was beyond PISSED off. I had an order once at Starbucks on Brodie for (17) drinks and they had it out within 10 minutes. I guess their baristas are more capable and productive. I will never ever come back here. One star is way too generous!!!!

Mollie M.

Yelp
Amazing service. Have always driven by this place but finally decided to give it a try 2 weeks ago and I've already been back 3 times. Baristas are always so kind and happy to help and give recommendations. Makes my morning to get coffee served with smiles, very rare these days!
google avatar

J G.

Yelp
They were very busy the day I stopped in. It was first morning after a big ice storm and they were hopping! Counter service was prompt and super nice. Coffee hot and caffeinated! Place seemed clean and organized. I will definitely be back!

Katherinne c.

Yelp
The food here I haven't tried so I can't speak on that. However, the service here is amazing. I was having a really bad day and Sofie really made it so much better. I told her about how I wasn't really feeling the fuel for that day and she instantly made it up to me with something better. The ambiance combined with the service here is really amazing n

Yelp
So happy there is now a decent coffee bar in this part of town. Black Rock is a chain, but it is a ccol one. The place is modern, and spacious with a large patio. Their menu is just what you expect from a coffee shop. OK, but what about the coffee? It's good coffee. Very smooth, not bitter. The opposite of what you get at a Starbucks. I got a drip and a breve. The drip was easy to drink, yet had flavor. The breve had a bit too much milk for me. I thought about giving it four stars because it is not the best coffee in Austin, and because I like coffee with a bolder flavor. Yet, it is my personal preference and this is still the best coffee you can find in a 3-5 mile radius. I had a blueberry muffin which was delicious and also a reasonable size. Black Rock has a drive through for those in a hurry. A welcome addition to the area. Go try it.
google avatar

Erin P.

Yelp
Love their fuels but this review is really for Naomi! She is always so sweet and I always look forward to talking to her in the morning

Yuri T.

Yelp
Very decent coffee. It is a very loud environment, so you should bring ear plugs. The location is convenient if you are going to the movie theater nearby.
google avatar

Tiffany J.

Yelp
I love Black Rock so much. This is the third location that I've visited (the other two in Houston) and it is so consistent. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and the drinks are so yummy! I brought my mom here because I wouldn't stop talking about it. We both ordered large non fat iced caramel blondies, and it was so good! The inside of the store is nice and spacious! It also has a drive thru. I love this place more than Starbucks and Summer Moon. I've tried a couple of drinks on the menu, but nothing beats the iced Caramel Blondie!

Holly B.

Yelp
Love their drinks and customer service! I get the caramel blondie with an extra shot to balance out the sweetness.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
I'm personally not a fan, which is quite unfortunate because I can see how many people love this place. My friends and I came after a long drive from San Antonio, and this was one of the few coffee shops that was open that early in the morning. I ordered a chai latte, and it was really bland and watery. I didn't finish it, and it was a pretty expensive drink too. I appreciate how large the sizes are, but I am not sure if my experience can justify another visit.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I love coffee. It's hard to find any coffee place that disappoints me so I always rate them high, but that being said Black Rock is actually this good. I got the Mexican chocolate iced coffee and my fiancée got an iced caramel with soy milk. I gotta say I got the better drink in this case because chocolate. Heck yes! Pros: the coffee was sweet but not so sweet it makes you want to throw up and ruins the whole experience. It had flavor that was not covered or overpowering to the coffee itself; a hard thing to do imo. Perfect drinks for sipping. And the best part the staff were so patient and friendly as we tried to figure out what to order. Cons: I wish there were more locations in The greater Austin area! However I will go to them no matter where they are.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
I was really surprised and excited by their reasonable prices! I ordered a caramel blondie, a delicious combo of white chocolate and caramel, and walked away paying just over $5 after tip. After going to many coffee shops in town I was really surprised that many of their specialty coffees start at less than $4. The customer service was great and the drive through line moved very quickly. I had a question about one of their drinks and instead of calling in they offer a direct text message line, I was able text a manager who got back to me promptly. *Their drinks do run very sweet. I ordered mine half sweet and could have cut back even more.
google avatar

Allyson K.

Yelp
I ordered a hot chocolate that was very good. My friend and I got a lot of work done while appreciating the nice interior. Plenty of parking which is nice in ATX!
google avatar

Errol M.

Yelp
Like for realz, who are these guys & when did they get here? It's too slick not to be a chain, and I know we're supposed to hate on chains, for not being local or dark & gloomy enough whatever. But if this is the new wave of coffeehouse franchises springing up, count me in. I'm not saying your life as you know it will change, but if you just need a pleasant respite in a bright & cheery place with a friendly staff, I'm not sure it gets much better than this. All I've had here is the straight black House, they charge me $1.89 and it's been good stuff. The only reason I know about this place at all is because my optometrist moved into the middle of this complex (Lantana something?), they recommended it (and Carve on the other end), and they've always been right. (Okay, I gotta finish that Carve review & update Lone Star Eye too. Hey, I have other things going on.) The bottom line is BR Coffee Bar is way out of my hood, and the couple of times I've been here it's not been uncrowded. But I'm not interested in camping out with a laptop in Southwest Parkway. I just get my straight black, smile a lot, and get out. No Bad Day at Black Rock for me.

Yelp
Came back last Sunday to try their pastries, and all three were so yummy. One daughter usually does not eat pastries, and she ate all of the Apple cinnamon pillow, had to beg for a bit, and half of the lemon poppyseed cake. So yeah, the pastries are delicious.
google avatar

Robin W.

Yelp
I went on free coffee day and boy was this place busy. I think everyone was super excited to have decent coffee on the way in to Austin. Despite it being crazy busy everyone was super nice and answered questions I had. I had a caramel mocha which tasted great. I look forward to trying this place again when not so crazy busy.
google avatar

Yelp
I got a medium hot chocolate here because Starbucks wasn't open, as soon as I took a sip I felt like I was in heaven it was incredible and the service is really fast, they have a wide verity of food and drinks for every craving and I would suggest is to you.

Danielle T.

Yelp
Thank you Oregon. Strong, quality coffee brewed at this chain out of the Pacific Northwest. They know coffee there. And there prices are way more fair compared to local chains. Also the drive thru is one of the most efficient of all I've been too. I usually do drive thru, although they have a busy seating area with WiFi inside and out. The style isn't super cozy, but clean. A large iced americano, black but not boring, is my drink of choice. I've tried the gourmet pastry selections too, donuts and scones, which can be a nice occasional treat. Worth the cost alone for being fresh unlike the frozen reheated mediocre things Starbucks sells. Oh and Black Rock has a great rewards program. It's unfortunate our main local chain, with some of the highest prices (Summer Moon) stopped their rewards program. I drive out of my way for the value and delicious experience here.

Jake B.

Yelp
If you want diabetes inducing drinks this is your place. Only good part is that they are open early and the employees are usually decent.
google avatar

Moe B.

Yelp
I LOVE this coffee bar. The staff is very friendly. But also they have tons of options for caffeine even if you're not big on coffee. I absolutely LOVE the fuel drinks and how many flavors are available. But the blondie coffee iced is one of my go-tos. Such a great spot with comfy seating and ample parking! They also have a drive thru. Its literally perfect. I hope they build more (maybe closer to kyle/ buda ;) ) so I dont have to drive so far!
